I spent 45 minutes hanging with this fellow, besides turning head to watch me once in a while, the 2nd most exciting thing was this...pooping, twice. So nice and personal.

The CT osprey webcam at Hammonasset seems to be down. It hasn't worked for days now and I don't expect that anything will be done about it lest it frighten the parent birds away.

There is another webcam in Clinton,CT, if anyone would like to watch that one. It has one older chick. He's a cutie! =)2

This one is getting big fast. I do love watching them eat fish.
 
Yes, and now Mom has returned to the nest and is feeding him. I guess he still benefits from a bit of help.

I just checked in with the Osprey family, and noticed a wee small bird exiting from under the Osprey nest. It looks like a small mesh underneath may be a safe place for little birds?
 
This was posted on the webcam site for the osprey nest we were watching previously at Hammonasset:

"We are working on getting the Ospaey [sic] cam back online."

So maybe there is still hope that we'll get to watch those 3 chicks grow up.

Dad osprey just flew into the nest with a live fish. He began eating it himself -- they remove the head first-- but is now feeding Junior.

I love watching the ospreys, but the reception on both cameras is a bit frustrating!

I'm watching on my iMac desktop. Are you watching on a phone? I'm wondering if that could affect the quality.

Yes, I'm watching on my phone.

The Hammonasset camera is down, so we can't see the three chicks right now.
The Clinton camera seems to freeze up often. It is working at this moment, though.
That baby is getting so big!!
