I saw the TT at BRU the other day and thought it looked really neat! I tried W in it and he wasnt the happiest. I didnt see the tray though. Would like to see that.

Oh that's a good point Sunkist. Didn't even think about what O would like!

ETA: Ginger, I can't remember which one we got. All I know is I let DH pick it out and it's organic and expensive. One side is hard for infants and the other softer for when he gets older. I will look tonight.

oh Ginger...I meant to post this in the other thread...but we got the Naturepedic Organic crib mattress...the $259 one. i read up on a few of them but did not want to get ''crazy'' with a $500 mattress. i really like it so far. and i got the organic waterproof cover which is super thick, kind of like a natural canvas almost. i read a lot of things about keeping the bed organic since that is where they spend so much of their time so try to use as many natural products as possible, and figured why not.

China, it is really up to you. We use the boon mostly in our family room b/c if she is watching TV she will eat more. Mother of the year over here

. That is one of the nice things about wheels b/c I DO move it around. The stokke looks kinda uncomfortable. I am sure there are cushions you can get though. I didn''t realize they were so expensive either. My neighbor has twins and she has a cheaper version of the stokke (think it starts with a "k", I am so helpful huh?) and her boys don''t use them anymore at all. Her two year olds just sit on regular chairs. Guess every kid is different. We have the chair DH used as a toddler which is similar to this which she uses once in awhile. It will be a good transition which she finally grows out of the high chair. Still going strong though!

thanks for re-posting your mattress buys! we had registered for the naturepedic organic dual firmness mattress, but i wanted to make sure before we took the plunge....getting ready to do the completion bonus.

Hey ladies,

I want to get DD a stationary entertainer that MIL can use. She loves her jumperoo but I don''t know how I feel about either buying another one or carrying our jumperoo back and forth. MIL won''t put DD on the floor and I hate the idea of her just sitting in her PNP for most of the day (or in someone''s arms).

What do you think about this one:

Fisher Price Space Saver Entertainer

It''s $30 less than a regular jumperoo so I don''t know if it would make sense just to get a regular jumperoo. Thoughts?

Here''s a pic:

Fiery- We have a Jumperoo downstairs and we have this upstairs.

Both were gifts so not sure on price. BUT the good thing about this one as compared to the one you posted is that O can turn all the way around in it, so when he gets bored with one toy on it, he''s got lots more to play with. We can leave him in here for a long time and he entertains himself.

My mom calls it the "island of neglect".

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to chime in for those considering the Naturpedic mattresses. I purchased the dual firmness one from kohls.com. If you have a kohl's card it's really worth it. I shop through bing.com for cashback, wait for a 30% off coupon and for the mattresses to be on sale on the kohl's website. I got the dual firmness ultra with the cloth cover for something like $280 before cashback. Hope this helps some.

Right now the mattresses are on sale. Search on "naturepedic" on the kohls.com website Use code JUST4U for 20% off right now through Saturday. You have to have a kohl's card though.

This is more of a mommy gear question than a baby gear question, but what do you actually wear while in the hospital? I assume you''re stuck with the hospital gown during the labor itself (maybe with your own robe if you''re walking in the halls??). And then afterwards you can change into your own clothes? A nightgown rather than pajama pants, yes? What do you guys think of this "gownie" idea? I like the idea of a little more coverage than hospital gowns but still looks sort of practical.

When my sis-in-law had her baby she stayed in her hospital gown quite a while... possibly until the next day or whenever they left? Personally I wouldn''t spend the money on a fancy velcro one... you can just put a regular one on and then put another one on backwards so your bottom isn''t exposed when you walk down the hall or anything like that. Also, I don''t know about this specific one you are looking at, but alot of the special gowns with more coverage that I''ve seen at baby boutiques are made with a very pretty but quite stuff cotton fabric. That might not be as comfy as the hospital ones that have been washed and washed and washed and are really soft. Just some things to think about

Lovinsparkles, I was in the hospital 4 days (c-section) and just stayed in the hospital gown. I tried to put on a nursing nightgown someone had given me, but I was soooo bloated that it didn''t fit. I did take a bathrobe though, and put that over the hospital gown when I was moving around the room/had visitors.

I used the hosptial gown. I would get a fresh one every morning. I was a heavy bleeder so I was glad not to have to worry about doing laundry when I got home. It was all I wore, I didn''t even use a nursing bra at that point.

ditto. Hospital gown was an easy solution and I didn''t have tow worry about staining my own clothes.

I actually didn''t wear my hospital gown for long, unlike everyone else. I brought some yoga pants and a nursing tank, and put those on as soon as I could (later that day). I had a lot of visitors, and I really didn''t want to be in bed all the time, so I made sure to bring something I would be comfortable in. If you are comfortable in the hospital gown, then you can just stay in that. If you are going to bring something to change into, though, make sure it is VERY stretchy (you will probably still be super bloated), and it should be something you don''t care if it gets stained with blood or whatever. I would definitely not spend money and buy something just to wear that day.

re: hospital...ditto fiery. i brought an outfit ...yoga pants and a tank which i practically live in at home and its super comfy and thought for sure i'd change immediately...BUTTTT i never even left my gowns. they didn't let me shower til almost 24 hours after birth anyway so i would not have wanted to change before that. but even after showering, i didnt want PANTS anywhere near down there...the gown was the easiest, i just put on a clean one. sure it wasn't flattering but at that point i didn't even care. putting pants on to go home was bad enough!! but i am weird about having pads on and things like that and having pants on, it just bugs to have to 'feel' anything there for me. and i wouldn't have wanted to wear a fancy gown either...hospital was good enough...plus it had the handy holes for boobs. hehee. and i didn't wear a bra either.

STROLLER Q... ESP for BOB owners: i have an opp to get a gently used 2005 BOB stroller for $100 off SF craigs list. it was used maybe 10 times. it probably does not have the front swivel wheel. i would use it only for local walks and/or hikes, it would prob not go into the car at all or if it did it would go in our truck bed. we don't have another stroller except the snap n go but i walked 2 miles with it this week and while it was doable, the poor kid felt every lump and bump and jolt. my neighbor has a BOB and it seemed so much easier. but i don't want to spend a lot. we MAY or may not get another stroller (aka city jogger mini or just an umbrella when he is able to use it) than this BOB...thoughts? is $100 good for a 2005 gently used with no swivel? my neighbor does not have the swivel and said she doesn't notice it at all since it's JUST for walks. is the swivel really necessary for just a walking stroller? what would be the benefit to waiting and/or paying more for a revolution with swivel vs this one? any other things i am potentially missing? TIA!!!

I''m going to a huge baby/kid consignment sale in a week and was wondering if you guys have any recommendations on good things to buy used or things that you registered for but people just didn''t buy. We don''t want to spend too much before the shower because DH''s family is huge and very generous so we will probably get MOST of what we need as gifts but there are a few things we can''t register for like the Ikea Highchair that we are going to see about getting used and some cloth diapers and HOPEFULLY a wind-up swing. Anything else that would be good to look at?

Mara, On the craigslist stroller,I don''t have a Bob so I don''t know if the swivel wheel will make a huge difference but I know that here there are Bobs on craigslist very often so I''d personally wait and just buy a swivel one when it inevitably comes up.

Thritto. I stayed in hospital gowns the whole time. It was just easy. I could barely move and with the thick pads, mesh undies, blood, I just didn''t want to wear anything else.

I wore hospital gown both times, even though I brought along nursing tank and yoga pants. But I stayed a very short time in the hospital (36 hrs and 24 hrs after the births). I don''t know if I would''ve change out of the gown if I was there longer.

Plus I was examined multiple times a day. Would have been a PITA having to take off pants every time.

Mara - while I don''t have a BOB, I did have a Baby Trend jogging stroller that we had to keep the front wheel locked on. If you''re just going straight it''s fine, but in my neighborhood you have to turn a bit each time you cross a street to get back onto the side walk. Picking up the front of that thing DROVE ME NUTS! I sold it and bought something that I could swivle. If you''re not going to use it for jogging, I''d say don''t bother. The price does sound good though. You could buy it, try it out, and if you don''t like it you should be able to sell it for about the same later.

argh - ate my post.

Anyway, thanks so much ladies for the apparel advice. It sounds like the consensus is hospital gown plus robe for modesty in halls/with visitors. And that hospital gown will work fine for nursing instead of separate nursing gown. Will do!

Mara, really interesting to hear that the Snap N Go was too bumpy for your outside walks. I had planned to start with carseat (Chicco Keyfit 30) plus Snap N Go, and figure out jog/outdoor stroller later, but one of our main early uses will be walks to park on rough sidewalk...soooo, maybe I better re-think that and start with outdoor stroller plus carseat adaptor instead...

I never had problems using the SNG on walks but maybe b/c our streets are pretty good. Hmmm...Any off roading can get bumpy.

lovin...we have bumpy sidewalks here because of trees growing or whatever and a lot of the sidewalk 'tiles' aren't even so the SNG totally won't go over a smallish uneven raised tile in a sidewalk, it just hits and sticks and totally jolts the kid! so i have to basically keep picking it up and moving it over rough sidewalks. it's easier to walk in the street, but then the asphalt is bumpy too though at least it doesn't wake him up from a nap! if your streets are better or sidewalks are all even you should be fine.

whereas my friend with the BOB would just go over the sidewalk bumps no prob. i think for our streets any non real tire will stick on the sidewalks which made me think to just get a basic BOB for cheap for walks...which is why i am like jeez $100...do i care if it swivels wheels?

oobie...yeah there are a lot of BOBS on CL but most are pricey! and my friend said most of the ones she sees people want crazy amts for them. if i am going to pay $250 i'll just pay $300 or whatever and get it new at REI with coupons. so for $100 i thought well maybe i dont need the wheel. just trying to figure it out.

mustang...i'll ask my friend again about the swivel wheel to see if it bothers her...she did have to lean on it to pick up front wheel when we went onto curbs but it seemed really easy compared to me having to actually LIFT the SNG manually...ugh!
