Jas12, yes, at least it was not cold when it happened to me but my DH was at the doctor getting his infusions and I knew could not rescue me. T was also poopy! It''s like they *know*! Yay for Co waving!!! Tessa''s favorite thing to say and do is "ba ba" and wave. Now that she is older it is somewhat delayed with strangers. I think she is so interested in them she forgets til we hit the parking lot. Then she starts going crazy. Funny girl. She says bye to her room, her toys, everything.

Hi PS moms!
35.gif
I saw this on CNN today and wanted to pass it on!

Study: Away-facing strollers stress babies

All of your kids are so cute!

Thanks Lady pirate--had to chuckle at that study a bit. Babies/parents who can''t see or hear each other interact less?! Who''da thunk it
2.gif

but actually, i choose a stroller that could face both ways so that i could have the option and i rarely ever ''forward'' face for that reason-- i can''t talk to my son--so it makes sense but probably not something you *really* have to worry about unless your child is spending tons of time in a stroller each day.

Oh boy I''ve been MIA for a week, and there''s so much to catch up.

Tacori
DH''s cousin got the same kitchen for her son. It''s so cute.

Tgal
LOL take drug to produce breast milk. DH is especially supportive of breastfeeding after I told him the cost of formula every month.

550K for 3br isn’t too bad in CA. There was a 1br house (900 sq ft living space) in our neighborhood that was asking for 400K. Crazy. It was on the market for months, and it finally sold. The new owner is extending it, but the lot is only like 1300 sq ft.

Any news on the offer?

lili
DH’s co-worker has season ticket to Disneyland, and he takes his daughter every weekend. Crazy huh. No way DH would do that.

Is Ms. J wearing that same teddy onesie again? j/k. She is such a doll. Flood away with the pics. I love them.

snlee
Are u still transitioning D to the crib? Or did you decide to just stay put for now?

Did u have a good night out?

I think I got my first pp period a few weeks ago, but I’m not sure.

Diver
Are you, Jake and Delaney feeling better?

Jas12
Co is a handsome little man. I love the beanie and puffy vest.

Bobo
Good luck with the echocardiogram on Monday.

Jas
O boy… or should I say boys. Hang in there momma.

Cute pics and even better are your captions. LOL.

Puffy
3500 sq ft is huge compared to our house. That''s a lot of house to clean. hehe.

Have a great trip. Post lots of Disney pics when u get back.

Burk
Bummer with your sister''s bachelorette party. The 4 of you can still have fun.

Jen
Marina and Sophie are adorable. Had it been 4 weeks already? Time fly.

We took M in for her 4 months well visit Today. She did much better with the shots; she cried for only a little bit, not too fussy and no fever yet.

Her stats:
weight: 16lbs 6oz
length: 25.25in
I can never remember the head circumference. She is opposite of a pin head because her weight and length are 90%, but only 50% in head circumference.

So we'll be traveling to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family. We are driving, so hopefully M wouldn't be crying the whole way. She cries in the carseat when she is sleepy, and there's no comforting her. She cries until she falls asleep.

Q, sounds like M is doing great!!! She is tall lucky girl.

Burk, any news on T''s test results?

So I think T tried to give me a kiss. She came running over to me and hugged me and then LICKED my cheek. Haha. Gross but cute at the same time.

Bobo
be sure to post a picture of the santa clip for us
5.gif

Burk
still no news yet?
anyway, have fun shopping!

Jen
your girlies are little angels!
so how is super mama doing with 5 kiddies under one roof?

Jackie
Too funny with the pictues.
Logan looks like he's thriving --
in fact he looks bigger than my J!

TGal
wow, 21 offers. didn't think the market in CA is still this hot!
your dream home will come soon enough.

snlee
no sympathy on the spit on you here
41.gif

we've all been spit up and pooped on.
hope you had a good time on your date night.

jas12
sorry you had a rough day.
hopefully your weekend will be better.

QT
that is insane about going to disneyland every weekend.
once a month is more doable.
wow, M is another tall girl.
that's great her second dose of shots is better.

Tacori
haha, nothing like a wet sloppy kiss from your little one.
T is just a barrel of fun these days

Jas12 So cute when they wave Bye bye!
snlee You never forget that lovely spit up smell!
14.gif

QT LOL! We used to live in SoCal and I took the kids to Disney all the time! Sometimes just for an hour as something to do. We also belonged to the Longbeach Aquarium. I saw Hugh Jackman there (worth the price of membership alone!

Jas Logan is such a cutie!
Sorry if I missed anyone, but I gotta go, DH is painting her brother''s face like a tiger!

Oops! I meant DD!

Hi mommies, I hope everyone is having a great week-end.

i just had to share that Jake slept 8 1/2 hours straight last night. He''s been sleeping in longer and longer stretches the past few nights and I was hopeful that he''d pull the all nighter soon and he did. Now I just hope it continues.

hi everyone!!

i have been busy reading and enjoying all of your posts, but have been SO bad about replying. i generally read LATE at night while i''m breastfeeding and it''s too difficult to type while holding the little guy.
FINALLY i have a free moment to say hi!

all the pics have been so cute. that''s my favorite part of this thread.
here is my *attempt* to catch up...

TGAL: so sorry to hear about the house. it did sounds like an amazing deal in california!! but congrats on the amazing credit report! i would love to see some more amelia pics. :)

BOBO: love the avi...and good luck on monday with the echo. i will be thinking of you guys.

PUFFY: your trip sounds like so much fun. can''t wait to see pics from it! also, going back a little further, just wanted to say that i really feel for you with the emotions about your baby growing up... coby is only one month, but already it''s going way too fast!

JAS: UGH on both boys being sick at once! you poor thing! but those pics are to die for. sooo cute!

TACORI: too funny about the $100!! i want to see the touchdown pic as well. your description of the cheek lick made me laugh out loud. tessa is too cute.

BURK: hope the bachelorette is a blast! are you taking tayva with you to KC?

SNLEE: so sorry to hear about the trouble moving D to the crib. i have NO advice. coby has been a decent sleeper up until now (we started him in his own room the 3rd night home). lately he has been a crab-muffin. he seems to be getting REALLY gassy and uncomfortable. makes for a not-so-happy mommy! hope you had a great night out (and that your black pants weren''t tooo stinky!) :)

MRS S: congrats on the LONG sleep. i''m so jealous! hope you were able to sleep as well and enjoy it. fingers crossed that it continues!

JAS12: i LOVE the puffy jacket pic of co! also, your description of your bank errand was so cute. i can''t even imagine. in tucson we were having highs in the mid 80s last week! i''m getting sick of it and ready for our "winter" (highs in the 60s!). so sorry to hear about your bad day! maybe (!?!) one day you will look back and laugh!! NOT funny now, i''m sure.

QT: great stats for M! i''m glad she tolerated the vaccines well. i know what you mean about crying in the car seat. coby does that too. i thought babies were supposed to SLEEP in the car?!?! :)

ILUV: jealous about your bonbons and oprah! :) would love to see the tiger face!!

LILI: the photo montage is adorable. you can really see J''s personality...she''s such a spitfire--i love it!! not to mention a total beauty!

JEN: i can''t believe our little ones are already a month old! time is flying. thanks for posting the pic of the girls. they are so beautiful! you are truly amazing! i''m at wit''s end with one little guy...can''t imagine having FIVE!!!

as far as our update...
we''re doing pretty darn well. coby was truly an angel for the first month, basically crying only when he was hungry. he''s getting much more crabby lately, but i guess that''s to be expected. i think a lot of it is gas issues. i''ve tried the simethicone drops, but i don''t think they''re helping too much. oh well...

the breast feeding is still a huge challenge. he likes to latch on and then pull off...repeatedly. i''ve seen a couple different lactation consultants, but no one really has a good answer. still hoping it gets better soon as my nipples feel like minced meat!!

coby is still a little tyke. he wasn''t quite up to his birthweight at his 2 week appt so we had to go back for a weight check last week. he was 6 1/2 pounds at 3 1/2 weeks! he''s STILL in newborn clothes (and lots of them are too big!). but he is gaining weight pretty well (he gained 13 oz in 11 days so they were happy with that).

we are getting out quite a bit...we even took an overnight trip a couple days ago that went pretty well. we figure we might as well take advantage of him while he''ll still sit quietly at dinner and stuff!! :)

will try to post an updated pic soon. :)

xo,LIA

My mom just sent a new little warm-up suit for Jake so I wanted to email her pics. I threw a santa hat on him for fun and loved how this one turned out. a nice practice pic for the christmas pics we're taking next week....

ETA; goodness sorry that pic is so HUGE

santajake08.jpg

jackie -- the logan pics are precious! how''s everyone feeling?

tacori -- sloppy kisses are so sweet
1.gif

tgal -- sorry u didn''t get the house.. hope the right one turns up soon!

Snlee -- LOl about the pants -- murphy''s law huh?

Burk - -how''s t feeling?

NF -- looking forward to you being over here :)

Jas12 -- sorry to hear about your key ordel - that sucks
7.gif

Q - yea, time flies like crazy nowadays! love your avatar btw :)

lili -- "super mama" is not functioning too well these days on so little sleep -- it''s really catching up with me! LOVE the pics -- wish u could post video :)

iluvcarats -- haha no hero here, just doing what i can! your post cracked me up :)

MIL is here hanging out with the girls for a few, so instead of resting, i decided to go clean the 8 and 5 yr olds'' room... it gets messier than any place in the house and drives me crazy! wish i had that nap tho... i''m averaging only 3ish hours of sleep (total) a night and i think i might lose my marbles soon...
3.gif

bbl...
jen
girls are a month old!

LIA -- so good to hear from you! i do the same thing w/reading and not being able to type. Marina has the same issue with latching/popping off, but Sophie's a pro -- i've found that Marina latches and stays latched when she's on the twin nurser in the football hold, but likes to "play" more when she's in cradle hold. Hope you find an answer soon! hang in there :) if it makes you feel any better, i am at wit's end too ;)

MrsS -- yay for a long night of sleep!!!
36.gif

eta -- what a GORGEOUS pic!!!!
jen

Just had to pop in and say HIP HIP HORRAY for Jake sleeping 8.5 hours
36.gif
i *hope* this is a trend for him MrsS.
That picture is so gorgeous, perfect for the holidays!

LIA--Cohen pulled on a on his latch for several weeks and then just stopped so hang in there, they change so quick and the issue one week disappears and gets replaced with something the next
3.gif
I second Jen''s suggestion to try the football hold (or just another hold in general), that helped me a bit.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

JAS12 Yay for sleep!

Mrs. S. Cute pic!

Lover in Athens Here is my scary tiger. Make sure to read his shirt - 100% true! LOL

Here is pic of my crazy kids fromm yesterday. I bet you didn''t know blue painter''s tape could be so much fun!...

avasamtape.jpg

jas, love the pictures, especially the double chins photo.

Tgal, sorry about the house. Your dream house will come along.

Jas12, sorry to hear about your bad day. Good thing the key was in the car, not lost somewhere you don''t know about.

Tacori, Tessa is learning all kinds of new tricks. They are more fun as they get older. How sweet she tried to give you a kiss.

Qtiekiki, love your new avatar!! Mena is just too cute! I''m so jealouse she is 16lbs 6oz. little B is only 16lbs 9 oz. and he is 9 months...I want to cry

lili, I got the clip, it''s super cute. Does make him look like a girl with the clip on but oh well...I will try to take a picture if he doesn''t keep grabing the clip

MrsS, yeah on 8.5 hours of sleep!! Jake looks so handsome, look at his eyes.

30.gif

Thanks LIA!

Jen, happy one month to the girls!

iluv, looks like your kids are having lots of fun with the tape. Funny shirt...

I''m back!! We had a great time! I ended up getting a lot of Christmas shopping done and also got myself a few little things. While we were gone, T''s doctor called with her allergy test results. She isn''t allergic to any of the top 50 allergens!!
36.gif
That doesn''t mean she isn''t allergic to anything and we have an appointment with an allergist but at least we know she''s not allergic to our dog, which was my biggest fear.

Tgal~Sorry to hear about the house. You''ll find one. I just can''t get over how crazy the market is there!!

snlee~I can''t even tell you how many times I had to change my clothes before work because T spit up (more like vomited) all over me! Hope you had a great time!

jas12~Sorry about your terrible day!! Thank goodness there was a ford dealership close so your DH didn''t have to come!! So cute that Co is waving!

Tacori~Tessa''s touchdown trick sounds so cute!!! And, what a vocabulary she''s developing. You must feel so proud!

Thanks Lady Pirate, for the article!

QT~Cute new avatar!! Sounds like M is doing great!!

iluvcarats~I never get tired of seeing those beautiful kids of yours! They look so happy!

mrss~Cute pic of Santa Jake!! And YAY for sleep!!
36.gif

lia~You have a little peanut there! One of my good friends has a little guy who is 6 weeks and he went through the same fussy/gassy thing starting last week. So sorry for the latch issues, too. I can totally relate! T didn''t come with to KC, she stayed with her daddy. I missed her!

Jen~Thanks for asking. She''s gotten better, but is still not herself. Doctor says it could be up to 4 weeks before all the yucky crap is out of her lungs. Hope you''re able to get more rest soon. I can''t believe it''s been a month since you had those little sweethearts! Oh, and love the av!

Lili, she is really fun. My favorite age so far (haha I say that about EVERY age). Certain things are getting harder like running errands. She does NOT want to stay in the cart or stroller. She doesn''t understand that I can''t always let her walk on her own. Earlier today she was pushing her baby stroller while carrying her toy car keys...she looked like a little mama. J sounds like a lot of fun too!

MrsS, that is wonderful news! Once they start sleeping everything seems easier. He is SUCH a handsome boy. Seriously...that photo could be in a magazine!
30.gif

Lia, I will have to take a touchdown pic. It is so funny and she looks so proud of herself. Sounds like Coby "woke up." T did the same thing. I thought she might have colic b/c she cried all the time! Have you tried white noise. Turn on the vacuum...worked for us! I never really gave her gas drops. I figure who KNOWS what is wrong and I try not to give too much medicine. I can also relate to BFing problems. We had latch issues and I used the shield the whole time! What a PITA!!! I promise you though that if you can get through it, it is worth it. Even though it was one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life (we both had issues and I am sure you remember I am the queen of the clogs!) I will do it with my next baby.

Jen, her kisses are sweet. I am enjoying being her favorite person b/c I know it won''t last long! Your girls are so sweet. I hope you can start getting some more sleep. 3 hours is NOT enough!

iluv, cute pictures! That is awesome that they get along and have fun together.

Bobo, T is little too. Don''t worry. I think little B looks perfect
2.gif

Burk, my friend''s little boy was tested for allergies (came back negative) but she said sometimes it takes years for them to show up on the tests
33.gif
That boy is ALWAYS sick though. I do get excited when she says a new word. Most of it is just gibberish though. Hope your T feels better soon.

MRS S: jake has such GORGEOUS eyes. what a great pic!

JEN: 3 hours each night? you must be going out of your mind! that's what i got last night and i'm hurting today . is it bad to try to keep the little guy awake during the day so that he sleeps at night?? kidding... (kind of)

JAS (and JEN): thanks for the advice. i tried the football hold...maybe it's a little better? who knows!! i will keep trying! sometimes it seems so natural and sometimes i swear we're back at square one. FRUSTRATING!!

iLUV: great pics! thanks for posting. i love the shirt.

BOBO: can't wait to see a pic with the clip. have i mentioned i looooove pictures? :)

BURK: that's great about the allergy tests! glad you had a good time in KC.

TACORI: thank you also for your advice! ihaven't tried white noise yet; will have to if this crying doesn'[t get better! it's funny because while i'm up at night, i've taken to not only reading current ps posts, but actually re-reading a lot of the old preggo thread. and i happen to be just at the point where tessa is about 5 weeks old (around pg 115-120 or so)...i've totally been relating to what you went through then. you were a super mommy (ARE a super mommy) and it gives me hope that things will improve. :)

ALSO...to all you mommies who have babies with eczema (i am trying to catch up with stuff i missed before)...PLEASE don't be worried about using your hydrocortisone cream (ESPECIALLY if it's only .5%). we have a mantra of "itch free and flat" and encourage parents to use prescription creams regularly until not only baby is asymptomatic, but also until you can't FEEL anything when you touch their skin. and we RARELY (if ever) even prescribe hydrocortisone (except for the face and diaper area) because it's not strong enough!! so please don't be scare of it (we use things MUCH MUCH MUCH stronger on infants ALL THE TIME). also, after you use the prescription, lube up the skin with plain old vaseline. greasy as all get out, but it really helps. try to use everything (rx + vaseline) twice a day until "itch free and flat" and then just use the vaseline...

hope that helps???

xo,LIA

almost forgot to include a new pic of my little guy...

cobytjdj2.jpg

Lia, that means so much. Thank you! Tessa was really tough the first 4 months. The fog didn''t lift until 6 months (that is when she started STTN). Swaddle (TIGHT), swing, and noise really calmed her. Not sure if you got to the part where we bought a Mp3 of vacuum cleaner noise off the internet. We played it for her during naps and night for so long! Now it is one of my gifts to new mommies and so many have thanked us for it. It really works on most babies. My dad also encouraged us to let her cry. He said that is how babies get rid of their stress (he is in peds.) So we would put her in a different room (strapped in her car carrier or in her bassinet) and let her cry for 10 mins at a time (that was usually all I could stand) But I promise Lia my dear it WILL get better. It will get fun and calm (somewhat calm) and SO much easier. If I could birth a 4 month old I really would b/c it is a rough time. I know you are doing a great job. Be sure to take some time for yourself. I know it is hard when you are nursing but it makes ALL the difference!

Tacori,
you are such a sweetheart. thank you so much!! i KNOW there''s a light at the end of the tunnel, but it''s easy to forget that at 4:30am when you just finished an hour long feed at 4:00 and the baby is freaking out again!!
:)
big hugs!!

LIA! He is SO cute! We were posting at the same time. OMG! I just went back and read my birth story (and all the sweet congrats and how everyone was worried about me b/c it took a few days for me to check it). I LOVE this place! Support is everything in mommyhood. It is priceless.

lia- love the pic..he''s adorable. I agree with Tacori that it really is so hard in those first few weeks/months but I promise it will get easier. I can''t tell you how many times I wanted to give up nursing with my first b/c I was so tired and it was just painful. I used to cry while I was nursing it hurt so bad. But, I found some support and kept at it and it did end up getting better. With baby #2 and 3 I found it was soooo much easier, although Jake is just now sleeping through the night at 7 months so I wasn''t as lucky as some as the gals here. I also didn''t have it in me to let him CIO so that could be part of the reason he''s taken longer. hang in there gal, you''re doing great!!

thanks ladies on the comments on Jake''s santa pic. I am going to go to BRU tomorrow and get him a santa hat that actually fits him for my offical Christmas Pic. I just showed the girls their dresses I bought them last year and they LOVE them. They are cream and pewter/silver with lace. I got jake a little black suit from Gymboree and he''ll be wearing a cream shirt plus possibly the santa hat if it looks cute and not tacky..hehe. I just want the pics to be very classic looking. fingers crossed for happy, smiling kids on sat!! I''m going to buy Mr. bear a santa hat too for the 8 month pic. believe it or not Build-a-bear actually sells them too
41.gif

QT, M sounds like she is doing great! Hope you have a quiet and safe drive and enjoy Thanksgiving with your family.

MrsS, yay for Jake sleeping 8.5 hours! That must feel wonderful! I hope it continues. Jake is so handsome! Love that picture of him!

Tacori, that is so cute that Tessa tried to give you a kiss and licked you!

LIA, wow, you took an overnight trip with Coby already? I''m glad he was well behaved. Sorry to hear about your difficult nights and BFing challenges. You''re a trooper for sticking with it and you should be very proud of yourself! Hope the nights and BFing gets better soon! Coby is adorable!

jen, 3 hours of sleep a night for a month? You poor thing! I would be a walking zombie at that point. Stop cleaning your boys rooms and take a nap. I hope you can get more sleep soon!

iluvcarats, lol at your tiger, his T-shirt, and your kids playing with painters tape!

Burk, glad to hear T isn''t allergic to any of the top 50 allergens. Hope she feels better soon.

I had a great night out on Thursday. It was a lovely sit down meal with waiters serving you and the food was yummy! My coworkers were all shocked to see me and it was wonderful to catch up with everyone even though it was hard to carry on a conversation while there was loud dance music on. It made me realize what a wonderful group of people I work with and how many friends I''ve made over the last few years. It''s nice to know I have that to go back to even though I am dreading going back to work. I''m glad I got out. It was a much need break and I feel a lot better. At the end of the night, it was nice to come home to a sleeping baby and husband.

D has been sleeping a good 4-4.5 hours at night with 5 hours in between feedings. It could be better if he fell asleep right away after nursing (sometimes he''s wide awake in the middle of the night) and I can''t wait for him to sleep longer but this is a wonderful start. I feel like I can get a good 7 or 8 hours of sleep a night and wake up at a decent hour now. Yay! I hope it''s not a fluke and I''m not jinxing myself!

We''ve decided to keep him in our bed for now. We''ll transition him into his crib when we stop swaddling him in a month or so. He moves around a ton and makes a lot of noise when he sleeps, which is so funny to watch, but isn''t great for cosleeping.

I can''t believe how cute D is getting. Is it possible for him to get cuter by the day? No social smile yet but he has more facial expressions, makes eye contact, and coos a little. He is holding his head up and is alert more. I know it''ll start getting fun now. Can''t wait for him to interact more with us!

Hi everyone! I just realized that I'm a good 20 pages behind; grad school is kicking my rear and I haven't had any time to play on PS. But luckily I'm on break for a whole week for Thanksgiving and then I only have TWO more weeks and I will have my master's! I'm in need of some serious *dust* in regards to the job hunt--I have an offer for a pretty good position, but it's in Memphis, which is a lot farther from my family than I would like to be. I had two other interviews a lot closer to home and I'm still waiting to hear from them...wish me luck.

jas--your pictures are all adorable. In fact, all of the pictures on here lately are too cute

Tgal--So sorry about the house, but I'm sure that you'll find one that's more "you"

Jas12--I can't even tell you how many times I've lost my keys and found them hiding in the couch or somewhere like that. I seriously need one of those beeping locators to keep track of it

Tacori--Tessa is soooooooo cute! I'm so excited to get to that age with J

Qtiekiki--Mena is adorable!

MrsS--8.5 hours of sleep! I'm so jealous. Jake is a doll, by the way

Jen--a whole month already? Wow! Time flies!

Burk--soooo happy that T's allergy test came back negative. That's a huge relief I'm sure.

Bobo--Jay is a peanut too--almost 9 months and *maybe* 14 pounds. At her 7 month checkup she was 12 pounds.

LIA--I sooooo feel your pain. Jay still isn't sleeping through the night, but is doing a TON better. Things will get easier (though I know that means very little when you're so tired you can't even think straight)

I apologize if I missed anyone--can't wait to see all of the adorable Christmas pics; I'll try to scan Jay's pic with Santa tomorrow and post it.
