for Jake sleeping through the night for 8.5 hours!
Hope he keeps it up -- could be an early xmas pressy for mommy huh?
41.gif

And that picture is just gorgeous.
He''s such a handsome and sweet looking lil fella.
I must say, that is one authentic santa hat.
It may be a little big, but I love when little kids don adult items
5.gif

Can''t wait to see Jake w/ Mr Bear and santa hats!

Burk
That''s great about the allergy free test results.
Glad you guys had a great time shopping.

Tacori
Haha, you do say that about every stage!
I agree, there''s also something to love at each stage.

Bobo
You gotta post that pix of little B with the clip!

jas12
Awww...how cute is that Co is waving hi and bye bye already.
As if he''s not an attention grabber with his handsome look already.

LIA
Coby is a peanut and sooo cute!
I love how his hair is so spiky and funky
5.gif

Thanks for the advice on the eczema treatment.
Now, is that vaseline petroleum jelly or lotion?

iluvcarats
Love the t-shirt! Too funny.
You''ve got some fun-loving kiddies there.
And how nice is that your day consists of bonbons and oprah...so jealous
41.gif

misspinky
Thanks!
Lots of job dust going out to you.
I think your Jaylin is probably the teeniest peanut of the bunch here -- so cute.
Can''t wait to see her w/ Santa.

snlee
Wow, D is doing very good with his sleeping and eating. I think J is still waking up more than that right now.
I can believe that D is getting cuter
41.gif
heheh.
His 2 month pic should be coming up soon huh?

Burk, yeah on Tayva not allergic to your dog.

36.gif
Hope Tayva feels better soon!

Thanks Tacori!

LIA, your little guy is too cute, so tiny. Enjoy while he is this little, they grow up too fast.

MrsS, can''t wait to see the offical christmas picture.

Thanks misspinky, good to know little B is not the only peanut out there. I''m sending you bucket of *dust* for your job hunt

lili & LIA, here is the picture of the clip. As you can see He wasn''t too thrill about it...

burk- forgot to say Yay for tayva not having the top 50 allergies..

bobo- that pic of little b with the santa clip is darling..that is such a cute clip!!

Tacori: thanks! i totally agree about having the support system (here or otherwise). i love you girls!!

MrsS: thanks! i can''t wait to see the "real" christmas pic. good luck with the shopping and sending happy children vibes on saturday. :)

Snlee: can''t wait to see the 2 mo D pic! and yay for 5 hours between feeds. that''s fabulous. coby went 4 hours last night (= almost 3 hours of sleep for me) and it felt wonderful! also, so glad to hear that you had a nice night out with your coworkers.

MissPinky: congrats on your masters! and sending lots of job dust your way. can''t wait to see Jay''s xmas pic!

Lili: thanks! by vaseline i mean true petroleum jelly. goes for adults too. there is no better (and safer with regards to allergies to chemicals, etc) moisturizer!!

Bobo: thanks for posting the picture. it is TOO cute!! his cheeks are SO pinchable!!

Burk: also wanted to say thank goodness tayva isn''t allergic to the dog. that is my worst fear!!

couple other questions for you btdt moms:
--how in the world do you build up a stash of pumped milk? i feel like if i pump, that just replaces the one bottle feed. i don''t know how to get ahead!!

--is it ok to add pumped milk to previously pumped and frozen milk? (i tried a little while ago and got only about an ounce and i know that''s not enough for a feed)...

thanks!!!

Bobo!

That face is priceless! "Don''t do this to me again, Mom!" Those puckered lips say it all.
9.gif

Lia, pumping in the morning seems to work the best (best milk supply then). You need to add a feeding (but pump instead of nurse). You can mix the milk once thawed. I would freeze what you have. You can also mix formula with breast milk if you don''t have enough for a bottle. A little breast milk is better than none. Pumping sucks!

Bobo, so cute! It is huge. Is it the big kid clip?

Lili, she just has SO much personality and is starting to understand things. She is so funny. I miss the cuddles of a baby bit she is MUCH more entertaining now!

missp, good luck with your classes! You are a busy lady. We need new pics of J!

Snlee, sounds great! I am not sure how it is possible for Tessa to get cuter but she does. It''s fun being a mom and creating such a beautiful little person huh?

LIA, I think pumping sucks. I much rather nurse than pump but building up a supply is important to me so I pump once a day. I tried adding a feeding during the morning (when you have the most supply) but that drove me NUTS! I felt so stressed out - nurse baby, calm baby, pump, eat, and nurse again. So instead for a month I am using formula during one bottle-feeding and that''s when I pump. After a month we''ll start using the frozen breast milk and I''ll continue pumping once a day. If the milk is already frozen, be sure that you cool the milk before adding it to what''s already pumped. In other words, if you have 1 ounce pumped, cool it and add that ounce to the frozen supply. Only add cold milk to cold milk or cold milk to frozen milk.

hi all!!! we''re back!!
just have to say that all the baby pictures are SOOO cute!!!

mrss jake has the most gorgeous eyes! what a handsome little guy you have

bobo you know that i am a big fan of little B..what a cutie!

LIA your little guy is sooo cute.

misspinky she''s so pretty! that last picture is my fav

iluv your children are beautiful! what creative kids/photos!!

we had a blast at disneyland. the flight went well, i think. B was a champ the whole time. he was laughing and playing with just about everyone. he was the only baby on the flight, so he got a ton of attention. he even got to sit in the cockpit for a few minutes, even though he didn''t know what anything was.
disneyland was so fun. he really enjoyed himself. at first he was a bit scared of all the characters, but after a few minutes, he warmed up to them and hugged them. we had breakfast with the characters so we could take a bunch of pictures without having to wait in line. he loved the snow, and the fireworks, even though it was pretty loud, he kept pointing up to the sky the next day and he kept looking for the fireworks. when we play the video of the fireworks show, he points up and looks upward, funny guy.
he learned a few more tricks along the way. the funniest thing is his airplane. he spreads his arms out and runs and wobbles his arms side to side. it''s pretty cute.
all in all, it was fun and we had a good time.
hope all is well with all the mommies and kiddies.

Thanks MrsS. I really like the clip, I would wear it on me if no one will laugh...

Thanks LIA, his cheeks are very kissable too

9.gif

Thanks Fisher, He wasn''t too happy about the clip. Keep trying to get it off his head.

Thanks Tacori, I don''t know if it''s a big kid clip, I got the clip off Etsy and it didn''t say in the description if it''s a big kid clip or not. It does look kind of big...

misspinky, Jay is so cute~ huge eyes and long eyelashes. Little B is jealous!

Thanks puffy, glad your trip went well. Sounds like B had a wonderful time at Disneyland. I can''t wait to take little B there.

Tacori
I don''t know if M is actually going to be tall. I am only 5''3".
LOL Tessa licked your face. That''s so cute.

lili
Yeah once a week is crazy, but he said it''s like going to the mall.

iluvcarats
I guess if you bought the season pass, then it''s just getting your money worth.
Fortunately for us, SIL works for Disney.
9.gif
We don''t get to go all the time, but it''s free.
So funny what your kids did with painter''s tape.

MrsS
Yay for 8.5 hrs of sleep.
Jake looks so cute in his Santa''s hat.

LIA
Coby is an adorable little guy.

In time, you will be able to type with one hand while holding DS in the other arm for breastfeeding. hehe. Actually sometimes I don''t hold M up when I am breastfeeding her now. I just lay her on my laps and lift her head. The nipple soreness will get better. I think babies are more constrained in football hold.

Add in a pumping in the morning. That should help. Does Coby feed on one or both breasts? If he only feeds on one, then you can pump the other breast while he is nursing. Some people pump prior to or after a feeding.

Jen
Stop being supermommy and get some sleep. hehe.

Bobo
Aww don''t feel bad about little B''s weight. M is just a fattie. LOL.

Burk
Great news about Tayva''s allergy test. Hope everything go well with the allergist.

snlee
They just get cuter and cuter everyday.
Glad you had a good time at the party.

misspinky
Congrats on your master''s and good luck with job hunt.
Jay has such gorgeous eyes.

puffy
Sounds like you guys had a great time at Disney.

iluv, bobo, misspinky--great new pics! I love that there are so many ''new'' moms on this thread cuz it means more pictures.

LIA--as tacori suggested try pumping in the morning and if you can do it (it takes a little dexterity) pump one side while you are nursing on the other side. Your milk will really flow and i found that in the morning i would have enough milk to just nurse one side.
Some other tricks.
--pump for a while *after* you nurse. you may not get much for the first couple days but it''ll send the signal to your body that you need more milk
(--or, choose another time in the day and consistently pump at that time, you should get more milk at that time eventually (although this didn''t work as well for me)
--or, pump a little before each feeding and just mix the days'' milk together (you can do this--mixing was the only way i could get a full bottle, sometimes it would take 2 days to get enough)
--freeze the bags *flat* so they thaw really fast. Also, freezing small batches is great for later if you want to mix milk with cereal and don''t want to thaw a whole feeding worth

Nursing is really hard at first (everything is REALLY hard at first) but i think i mentioned it before, i don''t even think about it anymore. I''ve unloaded the dishwasher, typed on the computer, heck even ran to the bathroom while nursing. I haven''t pumped since June which means i also haven''t been apart from Cohen for more than 4 hours--this is hard at times but it''s only for one year of my life.

Tacori--it''s so nice to re-read all the stuff posted after your birth isn''t it. You''re in such a blur at that time that you *read* that stuff, but didn''t really read it, IYKWIM

snlee, your night out sounds wonderful. I think we mommies need one of those on a regular basis

Puffy--yay for a fun trip! Pics??!

Things are pretty routine here. Co has decided that he no longer wants to nap--ever. It is a battle royale everyday. I think it''s cuz he''s super busy right now, trying to figure out the crawling thing and not wanting to miss a thing. A little frustrating for me.
Can''t believe Dec. is just around the corner --who has their xmas shopping done?

Bobo That picture is too cute! He may never forgive you for that one! You will be able to use that one for blackmail later on for sure! Love it!

Burk Sounds like fun! Glad you had a good time. Great news about the test results - esp. the dog!
36.gif

Tacori I can just see Tessa with her stroller and keys - too cute! Thanks for the compliments!

LIA How precious you little guy is! Sorry you are having rough nights! My daughter was a "high needs" baby too She cried more than I thought possible, and she was loud! She announced to her entire first grade class "My mom said that she didn''t need a baby moniter for me because the whole neighborhood could hear me cry!" Gotta love those sound bytes...
20.gif
Hang in there! It will get better
35.gif

Snlee Thanks! Come to think of it, they make my entire life pretty much *LOL*!

Miss Pinkey What a cutie - Great pics! Wishing you tons and tons of dust!

Lili Bonbons and Oprah 24/7! Except for when I break for my daily spa treatment or to hurry off to Victoria Secret to keep Mr. iluvcarats happy! Ahhh the luxurios life of a SAHM
20.gif

Need more pics from you!

Puffy Thanks! Glad you had a goog trip! Love your AV!

QT Lucky you! Disney for free is the best price of all
9.gif
You would be suprised what my kids can come up with. I''ll have to go through the picture archives. DH one made them costumes out of bubble wrap - I''ll look for it.

Apologies if I forgot anyone. We are off tommorrow to MA for a Dysfunctional Family Thanksgiving. Should be interesting at the very least!
Wishing everyone a safe and wonderful holiday!

missp, she is so pretty and delicate! What a cutie!!!

puffy, glad you had a great time! B sounds so freaking adorable and smart. Tessa only has a few tricks so far. BTW has his dancing style changed? T''s totally did. She used to do a bounce thing. Now she puts her arms up (at the elbows only) and twists with her waist. It is so funny. She will press buttons on her toys to turn the music on and rock out.

bobo, gotcha! I was gonna say my giddy giddy clips are SO much smaller!

Q, yes only a mom would think a lick was cute. Haha! She is stingy with kisses so I''ll take what I can get. T is going to be a shortie. She was only 28.5" at her one year appointment.

Jas12, I loved reading everyone else''s comments too. Everyone was so supportive and excited when DS posted details. Made me feel important.
16.gif
I agree with your attitude with BFing. If I could have made it a year I would have. miss independent wanted nothing to do and it was pretty easy to stop since I had SO many issues.

iluv, it was so funny. She also will pick up her toy phone and say "Hi." TV saves my life too. My DH makes me feel guilty but there are certain shows ("Yo Gabba Gabba" and "Blue''s Clues) that are her favorite. When she is fussy that is the only thing that calms her sometimes. Plus it is so cute to watch her watch them b/c how much she enjoys them. She laughs, sings, dances...I think everything in moderation is okay. Well MOST anything

*****************************
I have a new project that I am totally putting off starting! Just need to remind myself I am getting paid and I wanna a camera! Haha!

Please forgive me for not responding to everyone's posts, but I have limited time and I NEED HELP!!!!

Poor T has had it rough. Saturday she starting running a fever and by Sunday she was crying like I haven't seen since the bad reflux days and her temp was 103.6....so took her to the ER and they did another X ray to check her lungs (worried the pneumonia wasn't gone) and they looked okay (at least like they were getting better) but she has an ear infection!!! Anywho, the point of this mumbling is that she hasn't felt well. So, yesterday DH stays home with her. She would NOT let him put her in her crib, would only sleep if he was holding her. Then, last night when I went to put her in her crib she screamed the second I reached to put her in. So I put her to sleep and put her in her crib. She woke a few times, screamed for about 5 minutes each and fell back asleep. At 2:30 she woke up screaming (not fussing) and cried for 20 minutes until DH went in there. He brought her to bed with us. She would not go back to sleep. She was up (pretty happy and up) until 4:30. Does this sound like something a sick baby would do? I'm worried she's got us wrapped around her finger. The past few weeks she's had it rough and so she's slept with us here and there and in our arms some during the day. Do you guys think we've created a monster? I feel so guilty letting her cry since she's still sick?!?! In all her sick times she has NEVER done this before. Is it a fluke??? I'm so tired I can't see straight right now. Thoughts? Anyone, please chime in. I don't know what to do if she does this again tonight and I'm so scared she'll scream when they try and put her down at daycare today.
23.gif

ETA: Sorry it's so long. Thank you to anyone who reads the whole thing and responds!!
21.gif

Burk -- i''m sorry to hear she''s still sick
7.gif
No I wouldn''t say that it was "sick" behaviour, but I wouldn''t go sa far as to worry about her taking advantage of you too much just yet! Yes, kids do that, but it usually isn''t too intentional when they are so young -- she just knows what comforts her. I co-slept my boys (full time) and sometimes we had those type of nights, but more often than not, they slept like they were supposed to. I was too wimpy to let my boys sleep in another room i''m embarrassed to say! But for every time they were especially needy, there were zillions more times that they were "normal." I don''t know if that helps or not, but I think after everything she''s gone through lately, you did the right thing to let her be with you and get that comfort, even with a nasty 430 am wake up call! I hope you get better sleep tonight -- I know how much it sucks being sleep deprived

Have a few minutes, going to try and catch up:

Tacori~I''m fairly certain she has to be allergic to something to get sick this often. We plan to have the next set of tests done at her appointment in January with her allergist. I''m just so happy it''s not our dog she''s allergic to. My DH would have been devastated. All I get is jibberish so some words that she actually knows she''s saying will be fun!

LIA~I also pumped in the morning to build a stash. I didn''t get much at first but eventually I was getting quite a bit every morning. Too bad I had to throw it all since she is intollerant to milk/soy and I was eating those things and so couldn''t give her breastmilk with it..... THanks for the pic!! He''s so darling. I just want to cuddle with him!!

snlee~Thanks! So glad you had a fun night out!! It''s so nice to get out every once and a while.

misspinky~Really cute pic of your little peanut! Good luck with the job!

got to go teach. Will be back...

Hi gals...

Burk, it just breaks my heart to hear all that Tayva has been through. Gosh, if I were you, I''d be so heartbroken over the whole thing that I''d probably break my own no cosleeping rule and let her sleep with me as long as she wants!

I have no idea if that is sick behavior or not. I just wanted to say that I''m sorry that things have been so tough and you all really deserve for things to look better. Poor sweet thing.

Jen~Thanks so much for your reply! I know I sound so whiny with all you new moms who are getting zero sleep every day!! Sorry. I am just worried that we're making this her habit and will be hard to break. I have been thinking about it a lot and I think I'll give it a few more days and then I'll play "hardball."
2.gif
9.gif

Tgal~Thanks!!! That's exactly why we have let her sleep with us on a few occassions-we feel HORRIBLE for what the poor thing has gone through. I think I'll let her "work us' as my DH says for a few more nights and then I'll have to get tough.

Burk, i agree with Jen. I don''t think she''s taking advantage of you yet either. Jake had that double ear infection right when we had moved him to his crib in in own room and I was going to try and let him cry a bit in the night. Well, since he was sick, there is no way I''d let him lay in there are cry. We would have done the same thing trying to comfort one of our kids even letting them sleep in our arms or bed if that is what helped them. I hope for your sake last night was just a fluke and she get''s back to her normal sleeping right away. We had a rough night a couple of nights ago with all 3 kids being up at different times for different reasons. i was just so tired, still trying to catch up
24.gif

hopefully she''ll take a good nap at daycare today.

Continuing to catch up....

Thanks for all the condolences on the house. Hehehe. Yeah, it was crazy but I don''t mind we didn''t get it. In a year or so, I think that entire neighborhood will be priced 50K lower.

snlee, I''m glad you had a nice night out. It does wonders for the mind...

Jas, that day out sounds nuts...I probably would have cried. Ugh...

QT, 550K would have been GREAT for my neighborhood in the current market. But as I said, who knows what it means for tomorrow. Everything keeps going down, albeit slowly around here. M''s stats look great...she''s growing up fast!

MrsS, awesome about Jake''s sleeping...still going well? And I love that pic of him in the hat. I guess I am a terrible mom and won''t be sending out any photo cards of Amelia. I hate addressing and stamping envelopes, so it''s just not going to happen.

LIA, definitely take advantage of this stage and go out! It helps with your sanity. It''s amazing how much fussier babies get when they start to get their bearings....they know what they want! The problem is, we don''t!

Jen, you''re doing an amazing job with twins and your older kids. Hang in there and happy one month (already?!) to the girls.

Burk--*hugs* to you, T and your DH. I would have TOTALLY done the same thing. I just think babies don''t know why they are hurting, or feel out of sorts etc. all they know is that mom and dad comfort them and unfortunately that sometimes means at 4am--ugh
I would give it a few more nights and see what happens.
Co had a night like that on our trip . He would absolutely not sleep anywhere but in my arms. I got zero sleep but i knew it was out of the ordinary and he was out of sorts so i held him and rocked him for 10 hours that night. I was afraid he would get used to it but he was back to normal in a few days.

iluvcarats, what fun pics of your kids. I look forward to those days, but don''t want to give these baby days up!

Tacori, how sweet that you are T''s favorite person. I''m not even sure that Amelia knows I''m her mom yet! She just likes to do her own thing and likes everyone. She''s only whined for me once or twice, but mostly she''s content when she''s getting attention, no matter who it is!

LIA, your little guy is so adorable..and little! Aw...those early months...
30.gif

misspinky, tons of dust your way! Your girl is such a heartbreaker...look at those eyes. Was your DH a bit of a rogue in his previous life? Because I always say the cutest girls go to the guys with a "past" as payback! Ha!

lili, I''m a flake and haven''t downloaded any pics yet. Her 8 month is next week so maybe I''ll upload something then. I can''t believe it''s been almost a months since the halloween ones. Where is the time going? At least you are good and shower us with these adorable photos of J. She just so animated...I can almost see her "move" on my computer screen.

Bobo, I laughed out loud at the clip pic. How hilarious is that. little B doesn''t hide how he feels, does he?

puffy, glad you enjoyed disney...I think we had warm weather for you while you were here?

OK, Amelia update...

Well, the girl is lazy, what can I say? I don''t remember if I mentioned, but I apparently did not crawl, ever. I went straight to walking and THAT was at 16 months. I think my daughter may have the same lame gene. I''m OK with her not crawling yet because the LAST thing I want is to get on a 15 hr plane flight and have her freak out because she wants to be crawling around.

She hasn''t figured out how to put any food in her mouth. I do feed her 3 times a day, but I use the word "feed" loosely. She''s getting better at eating but boy, that girl does have her preferences...she loves her sippy cup with water. She doesn''t even seem to be interested in fruit all that much. But gerber graduate puffs? Wow...loves those. Thank goodness she does seem to like veggies when she''s in the mood to eat.

I''ve confirmed for sure that she can indeed roll over both ways, but she doesn''t like doing so. Now her thing is just to sit there and play. She can do that for ages. Tummy time is once again frustrating as she would prefer to sit and play instead of being on her tummy. But I make her hang out on her tummy anyway, just in case there is a chance at her not being as lame as her mama.

She''s also taken big time to grunting.
33.gif
She''s very observant and smiles aren''t as freeflowing as they used to be because she''s so busy checking things out. But when she does smile...boy, it''s so huge and cheeky. She seems to smile more for a "reason" now, versus because someone is simply smiling at her. And I can make her crack up easier now too.

One nice thing is she now knows to turn pages in a book when I read to her.

Overall, I have to say, she''s still a pretty darn easy baby. Naps are still happening twice a day with the 6 pm bedtime, and she sleeps for 12-12.5 hours. I wish she were a more avid eater, but generally, no complaints!

tgal-you are not lame for not sending out cards. I may just send out a christmas email and call it a day myself. It would be a whole lot cheaper..

it sounds like Amelia is doing great! Jake has days where he like''s to eat and days where he just isn''t interested.

T-Gal, Amelia sounds adorable. Please post more pictures when you can.

Don''t worry about not sending out Christmas cards. We aren''t either, as well as our friends. The way the economy is, I am sure a lot of people won''t be.

Still catching up.....

Lili~Thanks! Is J feeling better?

Bobo~Thanks! That clip is awesome! Little B does not look too thrilled with his mommy for putting a clip in his hair!
9.gif

mrss~Thanks for the response. It''s so good to hear from others that would (and have) done the same thing . And, since you''ve been through it a few times
2.gif
and you''re not telling me I was crazy I feel some relief!
16.gif

puffy~Welcome back! Sounds like a great trip and B was a hit!
2.gif
9.gif

QT~Thanks!

iluvcarats~Thanks! Have a happy Thanksgiving!!

Tacori~forgot to mention earlier, but you''ll totally relate to this: T watched probably 3 episodes of "Yo Gabba Gabba" over the past few days she''s been sick. Even though she feels crappy, she still dances, points and talks to the TV. This is the ONLY time I''ve ever got her to actually sit and watch on my lap. She LOVED it!

Jas12~Thanks! It is so reassuring to hear that others would have done the same and that others have done the same. And if you rocked for 10 hours straight and Co was back to normal, I feel like if I have to rock for 8 hours tonight, so be it!
41.gif
Sorry CO is on a nap strike. T did that too when she started crawling and pulling up on everything. I think she wanted to practice!! Hang in there, I know how hard it is to not have at least a little time to get some stuff done through out the day!
2.gif

Tgal~Amelia is so easy! T was content to sit and play for a couple weeks and it was great! Some times I miss the times I could sit her down and not have to worry what she''d get into! I think it''s so cute when they turn the pages, too! Oh, and T is also in love with puffs!!

As for Christmas cards, I''m probably just sending an email.
