Also, (on a separate topic) what are some of you new mom''s doing for BC? I am barely BF, so my dr. prescribed my usual BC (Ortho-try cyclin lo). I asked him about supply, passing anything to baby and he said since I''m not EBF it''s fine. But I''m still concerned and my minimal supply does seem diminished.

PS Feel better Tacori, there are alot of bugs going around right now!

aw Tacori, I''m so sad you are sick. I was sick a couple of weeks ago when I got to go home for the weekend. we went to my stepdaughter''s play that she was in and I was so miserable. I had the worst cold and just felt awful. totally not the way I wanted to feel on a rare weekend with my mom. Anyway, I hope you can get some rest and that you do feel better tomorrow so you can enjoy the Holiday. I''m glad you''ll have help with Tessa too!!

linda, I hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving too..

Jas12- too funny about Co and the lights. Jake is infatuated with the lights (and ornaments) on the Christmas tree. So far, he just looks but I know he''s going to scoot over close enough to try and get something in his mouth.

just had to share that minutes ago Jake actually crawled about 8 feet without dropping down to his belly once. He''s been getting up and doing 2 or 3 "steps" and then back to his belly and then the 80''s worm dance. But today, it was a real crawl

Wow, can''t believe our babies are going to be 8 months so soon! yes, where has the time gone.
Anyway, I wouldn''t be surprise if Amelia surprise us all one day before her 1st bday by walking across the room.
One of my niece is like that. she went from sitting to walking. Her mom though that she was going to be a late walker just because all she does was sit on her butt and enjoy the world, while her older sister was different. Now that girl can''t wait to get moving. She was trying to walk before her legs can support her weight. So we have to hold her arms and walk across the rooms all hunched back.

Hehe, J is like that w/ her smiles and laughs too. Very stingy. We have to do something new to get her to laugh. If she''s seen it before, she won''t laugh.

Off to read my book for book club, would feel like homework if not for the fact it is a fantastic (albeit really sad) read. If anyone wants a good novel to read during all the spare time we have i highly recommend "The Book of Negroes" (by Lawrence Hill) --a historical fiction about the start of the slave trade. Stayed up past midnight last night reading it.

Happy Thanksgiving Mommies and the little ones!!!

Pumping in the "private" room was awesome. I feel so much more at ease.

Meena woke up at 1:30am last night and just would not go back to sleep. I tried rocking her, but she wouldn''t have it and was wiggling and fussing. I even put her next to me, hoping she would co-sleep with us. But it didn''t work. DH finally took over at 2am, so I can get some ZZ''s before waking up at 5am to pump. DH told me that he couldn''t get her to sleep. So at 4am, he gave M to MIL to sleep for a couple hours. MIL said she slept fine during the day today. Does it has to do with separation anxiety?

I got it. I''m pretty sure their pricing policy protects them from someone suing, but they are probably just trying to avoid anything...I''m taking the GC for sure!

I received the email too. I found this article - Target.com offers $25 credit in lieu of baby car seats, but don''t rush. Sounds like something may be in the works and those who had ordered the car seats might end up with a better deal. I will hold off for a little while to see what happens.

D had his 2 month check up today and is a healthy, strong, and active baby. He got his shots and took it like a champ. He only cried for about a minute. We had a weird feeding shortly after where he cried a lot, which worried me but things seem to be good since then. I hope he isn't fussy through the night. He's 11 pounds 2 ounces and 22.25 inches long, which is around 85 and 65 percentile for preemie boys.

I have a clogged milk duct AGAIN in the same spot just when my milk blister went away. What a pain! I hope it goes away soon. I won't complain much because I have lots to be thankful for, most importantly my 2 month old son.

D and I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

I just had to share that D''s 2 month gift to us was sleeping through the night! He slept 6 hours straight and went 8 hours in between feedings!

I hope it continues!

I am going to try and catch up with you all later.

QT, sorry about you going back to work and having difficulty pumping. I hope you find a better location to pump. From my two experiences using my battery pack, I found it was less effective. I guess that''s not surprising. Hope you''re having a great trip visiting the bay area.

so in the 6 1/2 years of being a mommy I had to do my first finger sweep down my baby's throat who was choking

. we were at lunch today and my FIL let Jake play with a napkin. I took the napkin from him but in that short time he bite off a piece and all the sudden was choking. I leaned his head back and saw the white half way down his throat all the while he's not breathing, did the finger sweep, got that napkin out and all was okay but geez my heart was flying. He's fine obviously but none of my kids every choked on something that I had to go in after

I also had to hit Target today and what an insane parking lot/store it was. The only redeeming thing was I got a Disney Princess Leaper game for $15 when they are regularly $25 for my daughter who's getting the Leapster2 for Christmas. I have never seen so many carts in the isle's though. I am looking forward to getting the kids to bed tonight and sitting down to a nice glass of wine and a movie with hubby

Hope everyone is enjoying their ''black friday'' --it''s "Buy Nothing Day" here in canada but i ended up ''buying something''-a bottle of motrin b/c my little bug has a fever

I jinxed his good health by just recently mentioning to my mom that Co hasn''t been sick yet and he''s nearly 8 months. Well i just put him to bed with a fever of 104--very stressful day. Poor thing spent the entire day laying on my chest. Weird thing is he has no other symptoms of illness--no runny nose, cough, rosy cheeks, vomiting--nothing. Any ideas what it could be. Maybe ears?
