Snlee
It’s her paci that she is holding. She’s always pulling it out of her mouth, but this time she just held onto it. I thought it was cute, so I took some pics.
She’s been chewing on Sophie a lot lately now that she actually holds it. Sometimes she’ll just hold it and swing her arm until she drops it. Hehe.
Janine
Chloe’s stats are great. Glad the flat head had improved. Yay!
I am sure she’ll show interests in food soon enough. =)
Oh just to throw it there, I also considered the Peg Perego Prima Pappa that Curly mentioned, Combi Hero 3-in-1 and Chicco Polly.

Funny/weird thing about showing interests in food – M had been for a couple of months already; she would like stare us eat or the food and will try to reach for the food if she is at the table. So I know she is ready for solids, and want her to watch us eat so she can learn how to eat. Well here’s the weird part, my MIL insists that M shouldn’t watch us eat (like it’s bad for her or something). So she will carry M away from the dining room during dinner.

LIA
I think it’s ok for Coby to eat every two hours since he is sleep for a long period of time at night.
Curly
Can’t wait to hear Lucy’s stats. My guess would be 17lbs and 26”.
Tgal
Yay for Amelia crawling.

TGal, yay for Amelia crawling!!!

Tacori, which laptop did you end up getting?

More later! D has been a hand full! He''s crying his head off right now (so loud my ears hurt!) and I can''t figure out WHY!
40.gif

I just nursed D even though it had only been 2 hours since his last feeding. He was hungry. 4 months growth spurt?

LIA, we use born free bottles too. I forgot Coby was a small baby when he was born. Since he's sleeping long stretches at night, could put on some weight, and he's hungry, feedings every 2 hours during the day sounds right.

janine, sounds like Chloe is doing well. I'd love to see some new pics toi. D is 13 lbs 5 oz, 24.25 inches, and head is 16 inches. Aww, sorry she has a fever. Hope it doesn't last long.

curly, can't wait to hear how big Lucy is! I'm sure she's way up there!

Burk, is T feeling better? I've made a few purchases off of Etsy and am very pleased! Great experiences. If you have found something you want to buy, give it a try.

puffy, hope B's molars aren't bothering him anymore.

jas12, sorry to hear your period has returned. Bummer! Is Co feeling better?

Burk - Happy birthday to Tayva! Those pictures are really cute and I love her face in your avatar pic!

Tgal - Yay for Amelia!
36.gif
You better get some pics of her before she''s really into everything!

ChinaCat- James'' crib is not drop-side either. I was worried that I''d have trouble reaching down into it because I''m only 5'' but so far so good. We may need to get me a stool when we lower the mattress though.

LIA - James is almost 7 months and we use the Dr. Brown''s level 2 nipples for him. We started using those at around 4 months or so. He''s also on Enfamil A.R. which is super thick and will not work with slow-flow or level 1 nipples.

Janine - You need to post some pics of that beautiful head for us
12.gif
Sorry to hear about the fever. Tylenol should help.

Snlee - James always gets fussy and hungry during a growth spurt so I''d put my money on that.

My first post in my NEW MacBook!

So exciting!

Speaking of exciting YAY for AMELIA!!! That is so awesome TGal. Not that I was worried but I am sure it is a relief. Tessa did the Army crawl FOREVER. I thought should would never crawl on all fours but she eventually did. Just keep your floors REALLY clean until then!
2.gif

Thanks you guys for the tips and suggestions for Tyler. I have tried mylicon but can''t tell if it does anything. I want to try gripewater but haven''t bought it yet. For some reason my pedi didn''t seem to be for it, but I would feel comfortable anyway. We didn''t get the alimentum yet or change anything except increase the zantac dose and frequency. I am still thinking it seems to be helping, although I do not want to jinx anything. I feel like he is happier overall, not so fussy, and he is feeding pretty well. I don''t see so much fussing during the feed(bottle). He still won''t stay on the breast very well, but I think I will go back to the l.c. again for help. We seem to be able to get a better latch but he breaks off a ton. Even when it looks like a great latch and doesn''t hurt. I wonder if he gets too tired or is being lazy cause the bottle is easier.
It would be a huge relief if the zantac works. I will keep my fingers crossed.

Jas12 thank you so much for the link- i actually did read that article already. we recommend dr. newman at my telephone triage job. I am surprised he answers emails- it seems like he must be so busy. That''s really cool. i watched the video clips of latches and feeding etc. they are helpful.

Burk, thank you again. I forgot if they outgrow the problem I could use the milk later. Yay! I got a wedge and am trying it out tonight. The baby is already wiggling off the side- he moves alot already its crazy, and he is swaddled, so I don''t even know how he does it. I will keep trying though. I have been letting him sleep on his boppy with us right there because he stays still on there and seems comfortable. I am nervous though because it says all over it not to use it for sleep.
Is Tavya feeling better? Sorry to hear that she has been sick. Did she get to enjoy her birthday before she got sick?

Tgal- that is so great that Amelia is crawling! very exciting. More work for mom , though, lol.

Snlee sorry to hear that D is putting you through it. his pictures are so cute and he is getting so big!

Tacori- cute avi.

Hope eveyrone is doing well.

Burk--
Ha, I know. I was thinking about Tayva when I was counting J''s teeth.
I can''t believe she''s almost got a full front set -- makes nursing so much more scarier.
Love the new avi of Tayva.
30.gif
30.gif

Those bday shots of her are great. Like someone said, her eyes are so defined
30.gif
30.gif

Pave--
Hope you find some answers for Tyler.
Anyway, take those pictures!! They do grow up so fast.

QT--
Don''t be sorry for bombarding this thread with pictures of your cutie.
But do apologize when you don''t
41.gif

LIA--
Awwweeee....Coby is a cutie!
I remember that sweater too! Now where is the bunny that goes with it?
Sounds like Coby is doing great, particularly in the sleep arena with 9-11 hours of sleep.
Do post more pictures of him.

lili, we need to see a bigger pic of your avatar, STAT!!

I had to pop in and say YAY for Amelia crawling. That''s awesome.
1.gif

snlee how''s D doing? hope he is better and not so fussy through the night. B''s doing ok. the molars are still coming and he''s got a new one trying to break through. it''s been tough.

lili that pic of J in your AV is so freaking cute!! bigger pic please! and i would be breaking tradition if i didn''t ask, is she walking yet? haha!!
9.gif
how''s day care been treating her?

tgal again, so happy for you guys that amelia is crawling. you must be SO proud!!

burk how is T doing? hope she''s getting better.

tacori YAY for new macbook!!! which one did you end up getting?

jas12 sorry about getting AF! it is more reasom to get preggo again soon!!

pave get snapping away with the camera!! he''s going to look so different before you know it. glad to hear that his reflux is getting a bit better.

***Dreamer***
So sorry it's taken me so long to post the info you asked for about BFing. Here it is, hope it's useful.
As I said before, I haven't copied the whole email as a courtesy, since Dr Newman didn't intend it to be public, but I've copied the part where he directed me to the relevant pages of info on his website.

Sorry for the quick drive by, I seem to be in a rush all the time these days!
TGal, yay for crawling! I'm hoping that will be an Amelia thing too, since my little poppet doesn't crawl, turn over or seem to want to do either! Maybe in a few more weeks, or when I get a digital keychain...

Jen

for reasons your milk supply might be down. Fix whatever you can fix (for example, go off the birth control pill, feed both breasts, etc). Use the Protocol to Increase Breastmilk Intake by the Baby, attached. See the video clips at the website above to help you use the Protocol.

In addition, go to the website and find:

When Latching (You may not be able to change the way the baby latches on at this point, but bring her in close as when she was a newborn)
Breast compression
Starting solids
Using a lactation aid (Many babies over 2 or 3 months won’t like using this gadget. But some will, and it’s better than a cup or bottle or finger feeding, because the baby is still on the breast and breastfeeding)

Had to pop in to say

Tgal--YAY for AMELIA CRAWLING!
36.gif
It''s the weirdest thing that kids know what gadgets are off limits and will go to extreme lengths to get their hands on em. I often joke that if i start a kids toy line the items are going to be black and chrome ;-)

Lili--you know better than to put up a new avi with J in CNY outfit and not give us the bigger version.--get on it girl

Ski coaching today--hard to believe that this time last year i could hardly move while on the hill yelling at students, wearing a moo-moo to keep warm and now i am pretty much back to normal
5.gif

Ahh the difference a year can make...

have a good weekend gang

Thanks everyone--hopefully she is better today. I will try to post some new pics soon. I need to fatten her up too since she is tiny compared to most her age...even though she was born at the same weight. Any moms with tots have experience with this, or should I not worry.

I also notice that little Chloe is so sensitive...even though I''m in the ''burbs, sirens will come down the street once in awhile and she cries when she hears it! Her face crinkles up and mouth goes down, and it''s so sad! It''s only a few seconds b/c the sirens are gone, but if another follows soon after it happens again!

Pave--missed your earlier post. Just wanted to say, i had the hardest time getting Co to latch on and stay on in the first few months. It was very frustrating b/c it hurt and took so long to feed. Then, all of a sudden he just grew out of that tendency. I wonder, like you said, if they get tired or are just learning so much themselves they keep readjusting. Time seems to improve everything, but it''s so hard to wait it out when u are in the thick of it! Every week should get a bit better--fingers crossed!

Tacori~Yay for the MacBook!! I love mine! My T is still loving her baby food as well. And she''s so funny about the sippy-she''ll drink full sippy cups of water down but if I put her milk in there she pretty much just plays with it!
40.gif
So, I''ve been giving her a bottle of milk at night just to make sure she''s drinking enough. I may have to try the veggie cakes you mentioned. My T is obsessed with pizza right now. Weird girl. She goes through spurts just like you described Tessa does. Hard to guess what she''ll eat at any given meal. Fun for us!
20.gif

Jas12~I took the enzymes to help break down the proteins. I had no idea what the heck it was when my doc prescribed it for me. Crazy the things you learn through this journey! I agree there should be more BF specialists because I don''t know many women who DIDN''T have a problem bfing! DH is concerned about the tall, blonde hair, blue eye thing.....he wants to put her on house arrest until she''s 30!
16.gif
Sorry about AF returning! Yea for ski coaching! That''s fun!

Tgal~
36.gif
YAY for Amelia!!! That''s great. I''m glad T trying to drink that soda gave you a chuckle. I thought it was pretty funny. I tried to catch a pic of her looking at the bottle with disgust when nothing came out but it was blurry.
21.gif

janine~Sorry Chloe was running a fever. Hope it broke and she''s doing better today! Tayva was also very sensitive to sounds. She HATED the vacuum as well as my blow dryer!!

snlee~T is doing much better, thanks! Good to hear you''ve had a good experience with Etsy. I may see what I find and give it a try!

Diva~Thanks!

pave~T never responded to mylicon either. I''m glad to hear that the zantac seems to be working, though. Hope the lc can help get him to stay at the breast. My lc was awesome in the first few weeks when T''s latch was horrible! Has your lc suggested a shield? Sounds like you have a wiggle worm on your hands! You could also sleep him in the carseat so he''s upright if the wedge doesn''t seem to work. Does he do well in the swing? Tayva is feeling much better and she had a great b-day before she got sick.

lili~I agree with the others, we must get a bigger pic of the av! You''re breaking your own rule, lady! That''s funny you were counting J''s teeth...I don''t have to count far! I can''t imagine nursing with a kid with that many teeth! Scary! Thanks for the compliments on Miss T''s birthday pics.

puffy~She''s doing a lot better thanks! Not near as fussy, but still running a fever.

Hi all -- sorry about the recent drive-bys. As others have mentioned, there is a lot of guilt for not keeping up and being able to address everyone. I do get overwhelmed.

Also, I''ve been kind of wrestling with my PS feelings these days. As some threads have noted, it''s getting hot in here. I also made the mistake of going into the ATW forum...and couldn''t drag myself off of it. Now I just want to cradle my head in my hands and shake my head.

So I''ve been avoiding PS but missing my safe Mommy thread bubble.

Lord, that sounded whiney. Maybe I should start a thread.

9.gif

Anyway, life with 5 month old twins is crazy. They are teething and in some ways really advanced, and in others, far behind the curve. They don''t roll over at all, and barely scoot, but one will jump in the jumpie thing for hours on end, and the other''s fine motor skills are off the charts. I don''t worry...they won''t go to college unable to turn over. Sibling rivalry issues are starting, which is kind of interesting to watch. Logan gets a big ol frownie face when I''m holding his brother. He seems to live and die for my approval. Jackson is an old soul who just smiles knowingly at me.

Ultimately, I am lucky to get 15 minutes to sit and type or read between the hours of 6AM and 9PM. But it''s all good, except for the whole still-not-sleeping-through-the-night thing. We''re close, though!

I can''t wait until they can sit up and play with each other.

Started solid foods awhile ago. Messy and fun.

Boys still HATE bathing. We only bathe them 1-2 times a week (but we sponge them down every day)...they scream bloody murder no matter what we do. I may just end up with filthy children.

Going away for a long weekend next weekend and I''m already sick about leaving the babies (even though it''s with my parents.)

Still lotsa weird inlaw issues. My MIL just is not interested in visiting her grandsons (to be fair, she doesn''t seem interested in her other 4 grandsons either), and cannot tell my two apart.

Here are a few pictures. I was messing around w/ Jackson''s hair and he looks positively goofy...I adore the expressions he makes...

1-4-09024mini.JPG

And goofier still...

And my drooling Logie -- he was literally gazing at me...I see a Woody Allen picture in his future...

One more...my big boy!

1-4-09028mini.JPG

Jas, those pictures are adorable! Good to see you! Try not to feel guilty- I feel the same way but kind of shrug it off, but then I feel out of the loop when I do post...I never venture onto atw except to read when I want to see some drama.

Burk, thanks for the ideas. Tyler does sleep pretty well in the swing and the bouncer, and the carseat for that matter(we have the travel swing for that too. Our tiny living room looks like a babies r us- im not kidding. He did end up sleeping in the bassinet for 50 minutes- we checked on him a few times in that time cause he was moving before...I think the wedge had a funny chemical smell from being new- maybe it was bugging him. I feel conflicted because I want to try the easy method for sleep but think it''s probably not a good time. On the other hand, I worry that I am giving him bad habits when I use the "props" as the author doesn''t seem to favor them- I dunno. It''s so funny what we put ourselves through as moms.

Jas12 thanks for sharing your experience on bf. I try to stay calm and know it will get better but it gets overwhelming cause I would really like it to work. When he is on right and it''s painless, it seems like it will be a great experience but they are short. Oh that is so cool that you are ski coaching! If the first few weeks are any indication, time flies so fast with a baby it''s incredible. I fly through the day and then it''s time to face the o/n again- eek!

Puffy and all, I swear I will work on the pics- we have a lot from the first few weeks, and less from the next couple- I just dont'' have them downloaded on the computer. they are on a memory stick and on our carepage. I am lazy to resize them to put them on p.s. plus it''s not like I am sitting here eating bonbons- haha. maybe today? I am sorry to say though they are not the best pics- you guys are impressive with your photog skills.

Tacori, I was christmas shopping and got some of those wooden toys for our friends kids- I think of you whenever I see them in the stores. I think they look great. I still have to deliver those christmas gifts, though. we got a little side tracked.

lili I love your avatar- very cute.
hope you are all well. sorry i didn''t get to address everyone.

OH! Tyler is blowing through the newborn swaddlers(not literally) just filling them like every 30 min to 1 hour- It seems like he needs a more absorbent diaper. We have the ones with the blue stripe indicator- I would try to let it go a little but he tends to fuss when wet/soiled so I can''t too much. We have some 1-2 from kirkland that are too big around the legs. Anyone know of a smaller size one or have any ideas? thanks in advance.

jas, the boys are soooooooo cute!!!! It''s great to see you, I can''t imagine all the craziness that you are dealing with. Keep smiling, sister!

2.gif

lili, yup, we gotta see the bigger version of your avatar!! Come on, photo girl. Hook us up!!!!

Tacori, yay for your new computer!!! How much do you love it?!
30.gif

janine, how''s Chloe doing today? We definitely need some more photos of her. I think maybe you need to bring her back into the city for a playdate so she can get used to noise!
2.gif
I''m sure it will get better as she gets older. I think the more she''s exposed to loud sounds, the more she''ll realize she doesn''t have to be scared of them. I wouldn''t worry too much about it.

So we had Lucy''s 4 month appointment this morning and it''s confirmed: I HAVE A GIGANTIC BABY!!!

Weight - 16 lbs. 10 oz. (95th%)
6.gif
6.gif
6.gif

Height - 25.5" (88th%)
Head - 42 cm (76th%)

**qtiekiki, you were so close with your guesses!!!**
I''m pretty shocked that she''s so big but the pedi said she''s really well proportioned and does not look unusually large!! The funny thing is that her stats are almost identical to Lily''s when Lily was SIX MONTHS OLD!!! Of course, Lucy was showing off by babbling and giggling, grabbing the doctor''s hair and stethoscope and then SHE ROLLED OVER FROM BACK TO BELLY!!!! What the hell is going on?!
23.gif
She had only rolled over once from belly to back but never the other way, so of course she decides to do it on the table at the doctor''s office! We were all pretty amazed. We got the go ahead to start rice cereal but the pedi suggested we wait till closer to 5 or even 6 months like we did with Lily. Lucy hasn''t really shown much interest in our food so I don''t really think she''s ready and I''m in no hurry but I might give it a shot this weekend just for fun. She said to make her middle of the night bottle smaller (either less in terms of ounces or just more watered down) and hopefully we can eliminate that feeding altogether at some point soon. Other than that, she''s in perfect health and progressing really well. She took her shots like a champ, barely cried!
1.gif
So everything is good until we go back for her 6 month appointment in March. Time is flying!!!

Meanwhile, big sister Lily is still like a walking dictionary! She knows so many words and is so proud of herself all the time. She''s definitely experiencing the "terrible twos" a little early as we''re dealing with trying to teach her that she''s NOT the boss!!
3.gif
Some days are worse than others but I think she''s starting to get a little better. She just likes to do things on HER terms and is undoubtedly a Taurus as she is extremely stubborn and will not back down! But she''s also much more cuddly and very protective of her sister so I guess she''s just trying to figure out what she can get away with. I keep telling her she''s the kid and I''m in charge but she doesn''t believe me!
2.gif
And I can''t believe I''m actually starting to plan her SECOND birthday party!!!! We didn''t do much when she turned one because she didn''t really know the difference so I think I''m going to go all out for 2...

Jas~So glad you popped in! Your boys are getting so big and even more handsome!!

pave~that''s good that Tyler does well sleeping in the swing and bouncer. At least you have options. Our whole house feels like BRU so I can totally relate! We''re building a bigger house specifically because our current house has been taken over by the kid!
20.gif
9.gif
I was so conflicted on sleep training and T sleeping in the swing and routines and bad habits when T was not doing well. I let it stress me out at times (I thought we''d never get her into a routine and she''d never be able to put herself to sleep but guess what? She does all of those things) and I know it''s easier said than done but try not to worry about it. Do what you have to do to get by right now and then you can figure out what you want to do once you have him feeling better! Oh, and there''s no such thing as bad habits or spoiling him when he''s this young so if you want to hold him while he''s sleeping so he''s upright, by all means do it!
2.gif

curly~You have a big girl!! What size clothes is she wearing? Lily sounds like so much fun. I can''t wait for Tayva to start communicating more. So fun that you''re going to do a big party for her birthday. We will of course need lots of pictures!

Hi ladies! I wanted to finally pop on over here because now I''m a mommy!
36.gif

Here''s a pic of Parker taken yesterday. In two weeks I can''t believe how much he''s changed. I don''t have time for my L&D story right now but I did end up with an induction that ended with a c-section almost 48 hours later. No regrets- he''s here and healthy! Thanks for letting me share our little guy!

Hi ladies! I wanted to finally pop on over here because now I'm a mommy!

Here's a pic of Parker taken yesterday. In two weeks I can't believe how much he's changed. I don't have time for my L&D story right now but I did end up with an induction that ended with a c-section almost 48 hours later. No regrets- he's here and healthy! Thanks for letting me share our little guy!
L2L, he's gorgeous! And I have to say, he doesn't have that shriveled up newborn look...his face already looks "ripe", mature and adorable!!!

Congrats! Looking forward to hearing your L&D story!

Jas, ADORABLE! Sorry you still have issues with your inlaws. What does your DH say about it? I promise that everything will be much easier when they sleep through the night too. My neighbor''s twin boys just turned one so I hear all the war stories. The first year seems really tough. But so are you friend! I know you are doing a great job and please the ONE place you should NOT feel overwhelmed or guilty is here. We all understand that!

Pave, I used the shield the entire time I BFed (annoying!) I think I was scared to ween off of it b/c once the pain stopped (with the shield) I didn''t want to experience any of that again! Also I had a bad sleeper but now she is a champ so there IS hope. Tessa went 6 long, painful months before she slept through the night. Now she sleeps 12-13 hours at night (no routine needed BTW) and at least one 2 hour nap (sometimes two, 2 hour naps). I do love wooden toys. Plastic does scare me a bit but it should be better after Feb 9th.

Burk, yeah I am not worried about the baby food. T hates pizza. How funny. Hope your T is feeling better! Love the new AV. She is such a pretty girl!

Curly, love my new macbook. So much fun having new stuff but NOT fun filling out 20 rebate forms!
20.gif
The lengths we go to get free stuff! Your girls sounds so darn cute! I wish we could have one big play date. Though Lily and Tessa would get in a lot of trouble.

Puffy, did you ask about my laptop? Or was it someone else? I just got the basic macBook. I figure it is more powerful than my old ibook so its good enough for me.

Sorry if I missed anyone. I promise when I install my photoshop I will post some ball pit photos.

jackiejas- please don't feel guilty about not keeping up. just pop in when you can!! (you might want to stay away from ATW though, I do!!) love the pictures of your little men!!

curly- you've got a big girl there but that is awesome. both your girls are just too sweet.

pave- unfortunately babies just go through the diapers like crazy in the early months. jake was like that too and hated being wet. He was a chunky monkey though and the kirklands 1-2's fit him. as they get bigger they do slow down and you won't go though as many as quickly

burk- how's tayva doing? are you back to health too?

loves2laugh-cute pic

tgal-first, YAY for Amelia crawling!! I knew she'd get it. you'll get to see the bootie swishing after all. to answer your question, My hubby and I have both been applying for jobs back home so we can move back. I've submitted resumes for 2 different jobs and am just waiting to hear if I get asked to interview which won't be until the application deadlines are complete. So, it's just a waiting game for the time being.

Tacori- yay for the new macbook.

so, not much new here other than jake has caught some bug. he has thrown up 3 times today. he doesn't seem to be running a fever but he's not him normal self.

L2L, so cute! Parker is adorable.

L2L~Your little man is so cute!! Congrats and I look forward to your story and seeing you around this thread!

Tacori~That is so funny that your T hates pizza!! I''m not getting too worked up about the baby food thing, either. They''ll get there. As long as they''re eating something and staying healthy. Thanks for the compliments on T.

mrss~Tayva is doing a whole lot better! Thanks for asking. And I finally ate my first real meal yesterday (5 days later) and finally worked out again so I''m doing better too.

burk and tacori- I say keep them on babyfood as long as they will eat it. jake is by far the healthiest eater in our house getting at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies each day, if not more. My girls will eat fruits and veggies but I'm sure not 5 servings. (I don't think I even get in that many, myself)
40.gif
My girls usually eat cereal or a wholegrain waffle for breakfast and then yogurt, a piece of fruit, some type of sandwich and small treat for lunch. They love the hot pretzel's you can make at home so they eat those for an afternoon snack and then whatever I make for dinner which usually includes one or two veggies. anyway, all that to say, I will keep jake on it as long as I can b/c like I said, he's eating better than the rest of us.

ETA: my oldest didn't like pizza either. she just started eating it about a year ago and she was 5 at the time. Lily on the other hand likes just about anything. she ate ceasar salad last night and loved it
33.gif

MrsS, that is what my pedi said. Plus it IS pretty easy. If only she could spoon feed herself!

Burk, no problem!
