janine i think that all the maclarens are pretty comparable. the volo i believe is the cheapest but the seat does not recline. someone correct me if i am wrong. the volo i believe is also the lightest one, but i think also the one with the shortest seat, again correct me if i am wrong. the quest and triumph are both great strollers and have pretty similar features. we also have a bugaboo and got a maclaren just because it is so much easier to use and a lot more practical for outings. we have the Lacoste maclaren and B rally likes it. and it is so sturdy, it has been gate checked a few times, thrown around, and even dropped a few times and it''s fine. all the maclarens are so easy to open and close. it''s really 1 hand open, i love that!

tacori sounds like T had a blast at the party! she sounds so cute!!! heehee, B is not reading yet. he loves to sit with us for lunches and any chance he gets only because he LOVES the attention that everyone gives him. the second the attention is not on him, he will make it known that he is there.

burk awww, how sweet!! T must have been super tired! haha, i have already taken everything out of the closet and i really doubt that there is something there that i don''t know about. it would be a nice surprise. glad to hear that she is doing better.

linden welcome!!!

i just have to share B''s new fascination. he was watching baby einstein and it was about transportation. anyways, he learned plane. so his new fascination is with planes. i bought him a toy plane and he slept with it last night! and when he hears a loud noise, he looks up at the sky and points to the plane when he sees it then he will say in his happy voice "plane!!!" crazy kid!!

Linden, welcome! Feel free to post a pic of your little guy.

Janine, the volo is SO light and so easy to fold I do it with ONE hand (and lift it up into my SUV''s trunk) while holding Tessa. It is great but again I don''t think you are "suppose" to use it until 6 months.

Puffy, we have gate checked ours too. I did buy a travel bag for it (to keep it clean) but only use it when DH is with me. I HATE heavy strollers which is why I used our snap ''n go for so long. I STILL miss it! Haha. B is way too smart!

Tacori: Volvo looks great--but hesitated since it says 6 months up. Maybe I can hold off 2 more months. Otherwise I think the Quest would be my 2nd choice.

Puffy: the Lacoste is one stylish Maclaren!

DD: thanks for the tip, I''ll check it out...

janine, I probably would have used it early (but we didn''t buy it until she was well past 6 months) but I am pretty laid back. I think as long as the baby has good head control a month or so early will not be a big deal. It is so light I could seriously it raise it above my head with one hand if I needed too. Love it. I think T-Gal has the quest though. Hopefully she will chime in.

Janine, Quest!

The volo is the lightest. It does not recline. The triumph and quest recline, but the quest I believe has a better reclining mechanism. The quest has an extendable footrest (awesome for the little ones...I still use this feature and my daughter is 10 months old). Those are the basic differences. None of them have a great canopy, which wasn''t a big deal for me as this is my errand stroller and not my walking one.

The baby jogger mini looks great (awesome canopy) but it''s over 16 pounds, and I wanted a lightweight stroller. 16 pounds isn''t really that light to me, but it wouldn''t make too much difference for a suburban stroller, I suppose. Carrying it however, those 3-4 pounds do make a difference. Quest basic weight is 12.1 lbs but that is without the shopping basket or the hood, but they wouldn''t add much weight at all.

TGal--
Is that the Quest Mod or Sport?

Happy belated 10-month to Amelia!
Can you believe in 2 months, we'll have 1 yr old?
Where is her monthly picture and the jeans picture that you've promised?
41.gif

puffy--
thanks. i don''t know whose eyes she got since they don''t look like hubby''s or mine.
hehe, too funny about B''s new obsession. how long does he fascination usually last?

burk--
thanks. she is feisty.
yay for more teeth!
36.gif
36.gif

yeah, forgot that the top four seems to come at the same time.
how do they look? J''s upper 2 are soooo big..they are like bugs bunny''s teeth!
LOL about the squatting when doing #2.

I am a totally bad mom. I forgot to take 10 month pics yesterday. I will take them today afternoon. I have the jeans pic somewhere, I swear.

Mod and Sport are the same. It''s just a difference in patterns/colors.

And no, I can''t believe I am going to have a 1 year old in 2 months. I still feel pregnant.

janine, we have the Quest. I like that it reclines, has an extendable footrest, and can be used before 6 months. We haven't used it yet but plan to soon. If you want something now, I say Quest.

iluvcarats--
thanks. how have you been?
i may have missed it, what''s the verdict on TTC #3?
41.gif

Diva--
Thanks. For some reason, I like it when she dressed in boy colors too :P
Guess pink is too girly for my little tomboy
9.gif

Hmmm....food and movie...that''s my idea of a party. Hope you guys have fun.

Skippy--
Thanks.

QT, cute picture of M! Love the girly Notsocks! I see that rash on her face you're talking about. D has that too. It's from drool and him rubbing his face. I put Aquaphor on a few times a day. He rubs it off a lot though.

Burk, yay for 4 teeth! I hope T feels better and gets a break now...poor girl has been through so much! Glad you enjoyed holding a peaceful sleeping T.

Diva, I use Cetaphil cleanser and cream for my face and I love it!

lili, MrsS, puffy, Tacori, thanks for your input. Seems like baby eczema is pretty common. I've been putting Aquaphor on D, just not that often. I do his face a few times a day and legs maybe every other day.
I had bad eczema growing up so I just hope it doesn't get worse for D. Right now, it's very minimal.

L2L, your little guy looks big for a newborn! He's adorable!

jen, good to see you! Your girls and boys seems to be doing well! Sorry to hear about your DH losing his job. Hope he can get more hours and a better schedule.

Tacori, T sounds so cute!

MrsS, glad Jake is doing better. Sorry to hear your daughter caught his bug.

Linden, welcome!

janine, the dry skin and red/rough patched on face seems to be common. D has bad cradle cap too. Hopefully these things will get better in the next few months.

puffy, B sounds so cute and smart!

D continues to be a handful and a little fussy. Sometimes I miss the days when he'd sleep all day! Last night was horrible! I couldn't get him down to sleep for nearly 2 hours. Every time I held him he'd fall asleep but when I put him down he'd cry. I had to do that 6 times I think. I lost count!

DH and I had a date night tomorrow. We're going to dinner and then Wicked! Can't wait! I bought these tickets when I was pregnant and on bedrest. I can't believe the day is already here. The last 6 months have flown by!

Linden~Welcome!! I''d love to see some pics of your little guy!

mrss~Sorry your 6 yo caught the bug. Yuck. Hope she''s feeling better!

puffy~It as nice to hold her since she never lets us hold her when she''s awake!
2.gif
I''m still holding out for you to find something you forgot you have! That''s too cute about B and the plane. He seriously sounds so stinking smart. T''s vocabulary is nothing near B''s.

lili~T''s teeth are still in the early, just popped through stage so they don''t look the bugs bunny teeth yet!
3.gif
I find baby teeth to be so funny looking....but so darn cute!!

snlee~Sorry D had a rough night! T did the wake right when I''d try and put her down one night last week when she had the ear infection and the teeth coming in. I literally held her sleeping for an hour and tried to put her down 4 times in that hour. Each time she''d wake screaming. Frustrating. Maybe he''s working on teeth? So exciting about date night!! DH and I are having date night tomorrow night too, but we''re just going to the movies.
16.gif

Burk, thanks. Very frustrating indeed! I''m thinking he went from growth spurt to teething. Who knows. Last week, the pedi said he''s not teething, as he didn''t see/feel anything. But I know a tooth can takes months to come in so maybe that''s it. Have a fun date night tomorrow! What movie are you seeing? We haven''t been to the movies in so long!

Snlee: you poor thing--I had a few episodes like that when she was 2-3 months, and it really tested my patience. Have you ever had luck with putting him down drowsy? Not that I should talk, since I don't. How about white noise? Swaddling or something that mimics swaddling? I notice Chloe hates when I put her down but seems unable to fight it (falls asleep mid attempt at crying) when snuggle her a bit, rub her back (if she's on her side) and make shhh'ing noises. Whatever works! Date night sounds fun meanwhile!

Re: Maclaren strollers--has anyone bought one off Ebay? I see quite a few listed as "new", and really want to avoid spending more than I have to. But not sure if I should take a chance.

Re: Maclaren strollers--has anyone bought one off Ebay? I see quite a few listed as 'new', and really want to avoid spending more than I have to. But not sure if I should take a chance.

We have the twin triumph and love it so far (twin one can be used from birth). So light and easy. As much as I love ebay, unless you are really saving a lot of $ I'd avoid it for a purchase like this. So many parts on these darn strollers not worth the risk IMO unless you can save a bundle. Plus plenty of places have sales and you can use the coupons for Maclaren's. I got ours through Right Start when they had 20% off and free shipping.

Hello, I mostly lurk in these pages, but wanted to express out loud just how completely neurotic motherhood has made me.

My four year old son starts kindergarten tomorrow (this is the first big educational milestone before starting regular school here in Australia) and I can''t believe how anxious I am feeling about it. Honestly if I was someone else listening to myself speak about how worried I am about him I''d be rolling my eyes and thinking how pathetic I was. For some reason it almost feels mean sending him away to this strange place for six hours.

Logically of course I know he will be fine and will probably have a great time. I''ve met his teachers and they seem really lovely - so why am I making such a big deal out of this? It doesn''t help that he keeps asking if his sister will be coming with him and then looks confused and upset when I tell him she won''t be. I''m sure this will be fine also. This is what motherhood does to an otherwise sane and rational person...

Pave--
Hang in there. It will get better.
If not, there''s always the smiles and the coos that come later that make it all good
9.gif

Interesting about putting Tyler on the dryer to sleep.
Does he likes the vibration of the dryer or the noise?

NF--
We use the Butt Paste for diaper rash.
How are your little precious boys?

MrsS--
Ugh, sorry to hear that your 6 yo caught the stomach bug.
Hope she feels better soon.
I hate teething. The babies seem to be in so much pain.
Doesn''t it seem like when the top 2 came in, the rest of the others just follow suit?
So many teeth does Jake have now?

Jen--
Glad to "see" you.
Wow, you''ve got alot going on with your life in the last month.
Hope things are calming down a bit and I hope your DH gets more hours soon.
Can''t believe how big your girls are getting and I can''t believe how well you are managing with 5 kids in the house and juggling work at the same time!
You are supermom indeed!
Can''t wait to see update pictures of your little girls.

janine good luck with the strollers. you know, they have a really cute juicy couture maclaren! haha. i was totally eying it, but have no use for it. we might get that for our friends who are due in 2 months with a girl.

snlee awwww, sorry about the rough night! hopefully it will be better tonight. that''s so great that you and your DH are going out. it is going to be so fun, but i bet weird at the same time. hope D''s eczema is getting better.

tgal happy 10 month to amelia!! wow, where did the time go?

burk one of these days T is going to surprise the heck out of you with all these words you didn''t even think she knew. that''s kinda what happened with B. i think he said like 3 words in 1 day awhile back, and i kept thinking, wow, you know that word?? crazy. and it is so cute when he tries to find the plane orlook for the plane. i''ll ask him, where''s the plane? and he''ll point up and look for it.

lili i''m hoping this fascination of his lasts awhile. today we went out and he look his plane with him. he was telling everyone he had a plane. B''s top 2 teeth used to look like bunny teeth too. they were so big, but not as big anymore.

tacori we also have the carrying bag for the stroller. i think we have used it 4 times. how''s the new macbook?

better get back to cleaning out the closet.

QT--
Hehe, I''m the same way too. I couldn''t have cared less if people thinks that J is a boy :P
DH too, but that doesn'' mean he likes it when I dressed him up like a little boy
9.gif

M is soo darling in her cute peach blossom outfit!
I love the expression on her face.....she looked so mature there.
Gotta love those thunder thighs
5.gif
and she''s got some cheeks too
9.gif

Tacori--
Yikes....poor Tessa. Thank goodness nothing got knocked out.
This reminds me of the time when my niece (who was 4 at the time) fell when she was running across the room.
She fell forward and I saw something white skidding out of her mouth. Quickly grabbed her and examined her mouth because I thought she chipped her tooth.
Turned out to be a piece of candy
3.gif

Tessa is so sassy she must have quite a sassy walk too.
You should do a collage of her walk for us
41.gif

About lack of comment on your ring....that''s probably because they are too busy admiring your Tessa instead.
5.gif

janine--
poor Chloe. hopefully, you find some cream or lotion to help with those cheeks.
j get those cherry cheeks too. i usually put aveeno lotion or vaseline jelly on them.
they''d be fine in the morning, but the redness come back when i pick her up at daycare after work.
can''t completely make them go away, but at least it is not getting worse.
hey, it''s been a while since we saw your little Chloe. Pictures please.

snlee--
i agree with Burk, it''s very likely that it''s teething.
J had those episodes of crying when laid down when her upper teeth were coming in.

So I posted this in HLT and thought you ladies would get a kick out of it. Tonight I tried the "child watch" at our gym and was so nervous. "Okay, we did it! I seriously was getting teary. I have never left T in a daycare situation before. So I checked her in and she was the only one in the "baby room" (up to 17 months). I guess they are slammed during the day and obviously slower at night b/c most people *have* DH''s that come home for dinner Anyways, I told them this was her first time and they were really nice. Their policy is after 15 mins. of crying if they cannot calm down the child they will come and find you. So I only planned on a half an hour anyways to ease into the situation. So I left her stopped to see her in the glass window. She was just STARING at the childcare working like "WTF!" So I did 20, hard mins on the elliptical. I was so stressed about Tessa was doing! So when I went back I peaked in the window and I swear she was standing in the same place but this time staring at the lady *and* a 7 month old. They said she did well (but TOTALLY hesitated!!!) So I asked how long she cried and the lady said just a few mins and she was much better once the other little girl joined them. The lady said she tried to hold her and Tessa did NOT like that. Haha. I said she doesn''t even like her MOM to hold her. Not my little indy girl. But they said they were no where close to coming to get me so all in all a success! I think she will have a much better time when she moves into the "toddler room." That won''t be for a few months but physically she has always been ahead of the game so the "baby room" is probably boring for her."

Puffy, my macbook has crashed TWICE today!
29.gif
Hope I didn''t get a lemon.
38.gif
But besides that it has been fun. Still haven''t transferred all my programs but I did FINALLY finish the 15 rebates I had to send it! Took FOREVER! You need to post a pre and post pic of your closet!

Lili, I thought of you tonight. Tessa does this new matching thing where she walks around raising her knees REALLY high, swinging her arms AND giggling nonstop! So silly. It was scary b/c mouths bleed SO much (well obviously it is not all blood but still). I am so glad she didn''t knock out a tooth. I think my ring is so small that people just don''t notice it. Truthfully most people don''t compliment my e-ring anymore either. Of course I don''t leave my house much!
3.gif

softly, I was worried and stressed over leaving her at daycare for 20 mins! I will be a MESS when she goes to kindergarden. You have every right. Your baby is growing up.

aw tacori, yay for you for getting in a workout and leaving Tessa. My big kids actually love the childwatch b/c they go to an indoor playground at the gym. jake is in the baby area too and I have to leave him 2 times a week for 2 hours while I teach lessons. he totally does fine though and usually plays or naps. Tessa will get used to it and end up having fun. it is nice being able to leave them somewhere for a little while knowing they are totally being taken care of.

lili- jake still only has 4 teeth. there are 2 more on top almost ready to poke though but haven''t yet.

MrsS, it was hard but I KNOW it is the right thing. I need to get this weight off and she needs to spend time away from me. I know I will see a lady walking around with a sign saying "Tessa''s mom" one of these days. Haha. What class do you teach? I am going to Zumba tomorrow night and am so nervous!

Thank you for the warm welcome!
35.gif

MrsS - Hello! Hope Jake is feeling even better (as well as your older daughter) and that those two upper teeth break through smoothly. L only has his two bottom teeth and as he is biting everything withing grasping distance like a madman we suspect that the upper teeth might be on their way. It's like living with a very small and fangless vampire. I absolutely love the monthly photos with Jake and Mr. Bear as Jake has such a sunny smile - hope another one is coming soon!

Puffy - Hello! B's fascination with planes is adorable -- esp. that he he slept with his toy plane too! L is a guy who is fascinated with flowers and trees. He's our little Lorax - he likes to pet roses and smiles at leaves. Anyhow - whenever I see pictures of B I always think he's so much older - 2 or 3! - because he looks so poised and he strikes me as being such a little gentleman.

Tacori - Hello! I love reading about Tessa and seeing her sweet face! There is something so unbearably cute about little babies that can walk - and as Tessa is supremely cute to begin with, actually seeing Tessa walking must be Absolute Cute Overload. And I had to laugh out loud re. T's "WTF" incident at the childcare - she's so sassy! I love it.

Burk - Hello! Tayva is so lovely, and the dark blue of her eyes is simply stunning. You can also see that she's got such spunk! Mr. Burk better get that shotgun ready!
2.gif
Hope you have a great movie night -- what are you seeing?

SNL-ee (this is always how I hear your screen name in my head) - Hello! Derek's hair is TDF - he looks like a tiny rock star!
1.gif
I second Burk and Lili teething can also completely disrupt sleep cycles as well. Hopefully you had a much easier night last night. You'll also have to give us a review of Wicked - sounds like great fun!

QT - the peach blossom outfit is beautiful on lovely Meena! And I agree with Lili - M has wonderful, kissible cheeks!

Lili - The pictures of J are always a highlight for me. She is such a doll, and I, like everyone else! - am perpetually amazed at her mobility. And in the black outfit she's also the prettiest "boy" that I have ever seen.
5.gif

Jen, Neat and Jas and Ellala - twin moms, quite simply, you rock. And Jen - again, I'm in accord with Lili - you are supermom.

Janine - hope Chloe is doing better... we use a combo of Weleda and vaseline to deal with dry skin...

L2L -- Parker breaks my heart! He's so blond and so wee!

Softly - love makes otherwise simple things so hard, no? Are things better today? how was his first day?

TGal - I love reading about A, and hearing your down-to-earth descriptions of motherhood. And I love seeing photos of A - there's something compelling about her features. I showed my husband the photos of A in Australia -- the "I love feet" collage was hilarious, and the close-up shot was wonderful - serene, contemplative and just lovely.

I'll try to post a pic or two this weekend when I can take a moment to figure out the downloading process... gotta run!

Edited to add: Sorry to everyone I missed! Cheers!

tacori- i teach swimming lessons to 3-5 year olds. I bet you will love Zumba. I actually need to get back to working out myself. oh and do call about your mac, I don''t think it should be crashing.

lindin- can''t wait for pics.

Linden--welcome, can''t wait to see some pics! I luv your description of living with a fangless vampire, that made me LOL--so true
3.gif

Tacori--oh, i can totally sympathize with your stress over leaving Tessa at the gym-care. I''ve brought Co a few times and he was only ''good'' on one occasion. the other times i''ve walked in and found him in the arms of the attendants, fussing
15.gif
. They have the same 15 policy and the studio where i do classes is directly beside the daycare (so i''ve heard babies wailing before--lucikly not mine) but co seems to fuss--probably just stressed over being somewhere new. From my daycare experience i know the only way to remedy this is to be consistent and get him used to it but that in b/w time is so hard
8.gif

T sounds hilarious right now--i luv spunk, and spunk from a tiny little thing is extra cute.

lili--i know u want another girl (i think u said that, right) but you make *adorable* kids and i can''t help but wonder what a lili-boy would look like, esp after posting those pics of J dressed up
2.gif
hehe

MrsS. hope you don''t get sick--you must be busy with 2 at home and a sickness to contend with

Tgal--10 mos pic! I need to go check on the progress of your pad purchase...

Ella--don''t know if u still read, but i was thinking of you this morn and hope u are well!!!

I''ve been fighting a nasty head cold--i realized this morning that i can''t recall the last time i was sick enough to need some cough med/ pain killer--it was way before i was married and preggo, so i am due for a virus
14.gif
-cold combined with cramps is not good but iam reluctant to take anything while nursing so i am suffering thru it
Hope i feel better this aft b/c i packed my bag to bring Co swimming at the Y this aft. we both need a change in scenery and i am hoping being in a bikini and warm water will trick my brain into thinking i''ve gone on some tropical holiday
37.gif

jas12- have fun swimming. I took Jake last weekend and he LOVED the pool. oh and babycenter.com has a list of meds you can take while nursing. I took some a couple months ago when I had the worst cold ever and was miserable. Certain one''s don''t pass though the breastmilk or will only give the baby a very low harmless percentage. i hope you feel better.

Skippy--

Thanks.

Hi Lili-
Thanks for thinking of me.
I am doing OK.
My CT showed some stuff, which means I need more tests.
Not quite sure if #3 is in the cards.
Thank you for asking though.
Hope everyone is well.

MrsS--thanks--i''ll check baby center--i took an advil yesterday (i know they are fine) and i have nose spray on standby, but i would like a decongestant so i''ll check it out
seems like everyone and their dog is sick right now!
I hope Co likes the pool--he LUVS his bath so if that is any indication..

snlee~Did D have a better night last night? Hope so!
2.gif
We''re going to see Gran Torino and going to eat seafood.

sofly~I can''t even imagine what it will be like when Tayva goes to school. I''m sure I''ll be an absolute train wreck!
41.gif
I''m sure your son will do great and it''ll get easier. Good luck!

puffy~T says about 5 words and a lot of gibberish. I''m sure one day the gibberish will turn to words but I''m not holding my breath that it''ll be any time soon!
9.gif
She points at things she wants and can identify things by pointing and she also uses sign some. She''ll be speaking full sentences soon enough I guess.

Tacori~Sounds like Tessa did great for her first time at the child watch!! I''m sure it was pure misery for you but after a few times she''ll probably have a great time and you''ll be able to enjoy (if that''s possible
9.gif
) your workout! Tayva is in the infant room at her daycare and it goes up to 18 months but we''re very lucky that most of the kids are all around her age or a little older so she plays like a crazy woman. Maybe next time there will be another kid Tessa''s age that she can play with. Where did she pick up the marching thing? That sounds so stinking cute!!

Linden~Thanks! She is for sure a spunky one and DH is already talking about his gun purchase....scary. We''re going to see Gran Torino. I heard it''s good. Can''t wait to see pics of your little one!

Jas12~Sorry you''re not feeling well. Tis the season. We''ve had a TON of sick kids out of school. Hope you feel better soon.

iluv~SOrry to hear about the CT. Keep us posted!

Miss Tayva had herself a heck of a night last night. Those top teeth suck!! I wish the last one would breath through the gums already. Limited sleep and middle school kids doesn''t mix!
