Burk, BTW I was watching house hunters and they showed a craftsman from the 1900s that had really pretty pine floors. The kitchen looked like it was done in hickory (kinda of like skippy''s kitchen). Thanks for the compliment. Dress is from target. GTGs are fun. *hint hint*

Bobo, yeah I am so glad it was just pee. I told my neighbor and she was like "oh, I meant to warn you" haha. I guess it is pretty common (if they have access). I cannot even think of her being 2!
39.gif

Q, POOR M! Ohhh! Time flies by so quickly. I have to remind myself to enjoy every stage.

TanDog, I am a SAHM so I didn''t reply but I know you can have a career and family. It will be tough no doubt so that is awesome you have a coworker you can vent/talk to.

NF, she is 18 months and I still have 5 lbs
15.gif
It is tough but she is worth it. So when I feel bad I just think about WHY I gained it and it makes me feel better.

DD, she is a trouble maker! I was in such a hurry to get out of maternity clothes I started buy regular clothes (4 sizes larger than my normal body) 3 weeks PP.

Blen, I did! I think the funny part is I didn''t notice right away. I have been so tired in the mornings.

Tacori~I am watching house hunters right now!
21.gif
Hickory is an great option for our kitchen cabinets...it''s inexpensive so that would be a bonus! Maybe I''ll plan myself a trip.
2.gif

Tacori I love the laughing picture of Tessa! And the first one with her gorgeous chubby arms! I love chubby baby arms and legs... Hunter is starting now to get plumper (he is a rather long lean baby) and I love that he has rolls! Too bad I don''t feel that way about myself
2.gif

Burk, then I could do dark countertops. Seems like craftsman style homes use a lot of stone too.

DD, SERIOUSLY! Why are my rolls not considered cute? She didn''t chub out until 5 months. She was skinny before that.

Tacori- omg looove T''s summer dress...what a qtpie! Def a happy girly!

Here is her model walk. Haha!

thanks nyc! How are you and the twins doing?

TACORI, aww, Tessa is so adorable!!! She is growing so fast!!! I just saw your note, my cabinets are Cherry wood; hickory is pretty though. Oh love the model walk pic, too cute! Wow, I can't get over how much she has grown!!!!

Skippy, oh maybe these were cherry! I just loved the variation of shades in them. Very cool. She is getting to be a big girl.

hehe you are totally right they have the variation like hickory; thanks! I still can't get over how much she grew!!! Too cute
30.gif
the first pic, love the expression on her face!

OMG, Tacori -- T. is ADORABLE in the latest pics! I just showed Mr. Zoe and he thinks so too.

Skippy, thanks!

Zoe, I wish you and Mr Zoe could have met her but she would have been IN that fountain next to CPK! Maybe once you move here
2.gif
Keeping my fingers crossed for you guys!

OMG Tacori
That model walk picture looks like a mini you!

Puffy
It was mostly tongue and cheek. Annoying, but nothing a workout and a glass of wine couldn't cure

Courtney
Congratulations and welcome to the mommy thread.
She is just PERFECT

Burk
Sorry you were sick. Hope you are feeling better. We have a craftsman kitchen, so let me know if I can help.

Tacori
Funny Tessa story! I agree that it could have been A LOT worse
14.gif

Those pictures are adorable. She is a doll.

QT
Sorry to hear that M is still sick
7.gif
I hope she feels better soon.

Bobo
Thanks!

How are you doing?

Re baby weight. It is a process and takes time. We all can't be Heidi Klum

(unfortunately

Hang in there and try not to feel bad about it. I am so impressed by all you new moms who have their babies on schedules and SSTN -- that took me YEARS
23.gif
Be proud of the tremendous job you are all doing

Thanks for all the assurance about BFing, everyone. My milk is really coming in now, so we aren''t supplementing with formula anymore. I still have to use the shield and I''m pumping after I feed her. She seems to get really fussy when I first put her up to the nipple (shield) and I have to calm her down and drop a little milk from the bottle into her mouth. Then she latches right on to the shield. I''ve tried to remove it and she''s come close a couple of times to latching to my nipple, but then she just gets upset and I have to resort back to the shield. When she''s finished (asleep or pulling away) she seems satisfied, but when I put the bottle of breastmilk pumped after the last feeding, she sucks that down like she''s starving. I don''t get it. I called a LC consultant and left a message but haven''t heard back yet.

Thanks lili and iluv! She is a cutie.

Courtney, I think she is having trouble latching which explains her frustration. Let us know what the LC says.

Tacori~Since I was sick this weekend we didn't go look at cabinets. When we do (hopefully some time this week), I'll take some pics if we see anything we like and post.
21.gif
I agree dark countertops with light cabinets.

iluv~Thanks! What kind of cabinets do you have? I feel like I've seen a pic of you kitchen...was it in the thread we started about old homes? I'm off to look....

Courtney~I think Tacori's right and L is having problems with her latch. Drinking from a bottle is less work so that's probably why she's drinking so well from the bottle. Do keep us posted.

Forgot to mention earlier that I stayed home from school today and slept for the entire morning. Then I went to the doctor (had to do strep test and influenza screen which both sucked and both came back negative) and ended up leaving with another prescription for an antibiotic (which I did not fill). Boo. I do feel better tonight so hopefully just getting some rest was what I needed.

Ditto, babies will get mad when they can''t latch! They also get mad and pull away when the flow is too strong, so when she is doing it note if she is caughing or sputtering. Also, one thing to remember when you latch your baby, bring her face to the nipple FAST and with some OOMPH! You won''t hurt her! Run the nipple on her upper lip with her head angled so her chin is closer to the breast than her upper face, then when she opens wide pull her head in fast to the boob. If you are too gentle she will close her mouth too fast and won''t get enough nipple. A good latch is a deep latch! Good luck with the LC, hopefully she will be really hands on and madhandle your breast into Alila''s mouth

I also meant to add that babies will often drink from a bottle when it is there... it isn''t necessarily and indication of how much milk she is getting from you!

Hi Ladies- Behind as usual. Not going to be able to catch up to everyone but I do have a few questions if you don''t mind????

Last night T slept for 5 hours then 4 hours. My breasts got really full and now today my right b is really sore- I don''t see any redness or pain in one spot- its actually like the whole right side. Has this ever happened to anyone? Tacori, Snlee or anyone else who knows, is this how a plugged duct starts out feeling? I don''t have a fever or like I said any redness.

Regarding the sleeping- we had transitioned T to the crib last week- but he was not sleeping very well- after going down he was waking up a billion times and then sleeping only 3 hours or so for his long stretch. Last night, my dh put him back in the swing- he slept awesome. I htink I''m gonna keep it like that for a couple more weeks. Also I have been trying to leave him out of the swaddle me but he just can''t settle down. He rubs his eyes and his face like non stop and can''t really relax until he is wrapped up again. Since his muscles are tight in his arms and legs I feel like we may have caused it with the swaddling and the swing. Ihope not. I know other ppl whose kids slept in swings/swaddled for a long time. their babies did not have any bad effects from it. any input?

Ok one more. T is also teething. the two teethers I have seems too big and he can''t hold them himslef and in addition they don''t really seem to fit too well. What kind of teething ring worked well for your babies(T is only 4 months old and maybe his mouth is on the small side?

Burk it sounds like the kitchen planning is going well. sorry you are not feeling well. I hopeyou are better quick. How is T?

Tacori the pics are adorable as usual. she is so darn photogenic and your pics turn out great. do you use a nikon like tgal? I think its a nikon she was talkiing about before.

Q i hopeM is better every day.

Courtney I hope the bf is getting better. It took me a long time to get the bf together. hang in there. like others I recommend an l.c. It did take a bit for the latch to get better, but then it got a lot better.

Im sure I missed lots of ppl- see you soon I hope. I''m kind of obssessed right now with trying to decorate a bit and get a space for T where he can lay down on a carpet, etc. its almost done. I think it looks cute. I wish we weren''t such stuff collectors though. no space. yuck.

Tacori- twinks are doing good...still eating every 2-3 hrs. ?...did (or does) everyone bathe babies (newborn) every single day or few times per week? and how did the bathing process work (shampoos, lotions, oil... etc)

Court- sorry the Bf''ing is so hard...no adivce here (didnt do it) but wishing u luck..keep us posted! cant wait for more pics!

tacori T''s new pics are adorable!! and i LOVE her "strut her stuff" walk!! so cute she is.

burk glad you are feeling better.

pave sorry to hear tyler is taking to his crib. but it sounds like he likes the swing. wow, teething already??

bobo sorry to hear little B got sick over the weekend. how is he doing? i hope he is doing better.

nyc we bathed B every few days, unless he had a major poop blow out or a big spit up on himself. we used aveeno baby wash, and when he was that young, we only put lotion on when his skin seemed to be drying out. and if his skin was drying out, we just used a bit of lotion on it.

qt how is M doing? hope she is recovering.

DD how is hunter doing? still sleeping like a champ?

blen hope you and george are doing well.

lili how is J doing? i hope she isn''t sick anymore.

Thanks Dreamer! I am doing the OOPH deal for sure. When I see her mouth open wide (the correct way), I pull it in quick! I also tickle the top lip.

Question though, if she''s getting plenty from my breast, should I still be pumping after each feeding? Or just feed every 3 hours and hope she takes in what I''m producing?

courtney are you pumping to build up a stash of frozen milk or for your DH to do 1 night feeding? honestly, IMO, this early on, if she is getting enough from you, and it definitely sounds like she is, you don''t need to pump after each feeding as well, esp since pumping is such a PITA!!

Courtney
You don''t need to pump after each feeding if she is getting enough and you don''t want to pump for DH to feed her/freezer stash. If she is wetting enough diapers, then she is getting enough. Babies will let you know if they are hungry. Ditto on A getting frustrated with the latch. She is still learning; they usually get the latch after a few weeks. I know this is hard, but just don''t to worry/stress too much. It''s not good for your supply. Hang it there. You are doing great.

Tacori
Awww T is a pretty model alright. She does look like you. Love the dress. I wanted to get one for M, but she has so many dresses already.

Burk
Hope you feel better soon.

Pave
I don''t know if swaddling/sleeping in swing for a long time has any negative effects, but I guess being in a swing might be the same idea as not keeping infant in the infant carrier/carseat for a long period of time. It''s not good for their back. Not sure with swaddling though.
M has the famous Sophie. It''s ok, but she basically just put anything she gets her hand on in her mouth. If you think the teethers are too big, then you can try cooled wet washcloth.

puffy
M is getting better. Still have the sore throat and congestion, but she is playing and not too fussy anymore.
How''s Brady? And you? Tired much?

Wow, can''t believe Miss T is 1 1/2 yrs already.
Can''t wait to hear what her stats are.
She looks like she sprouted a good two inches.
Luv the 18-month photo shoots (now are they professional or Tacori-professional a la your DSLR? :D)
All the pictures are so cute and she''s as beautiful as always.
Her hair is getting so long!

Haha, I agree Miss T and J will create so much havoc together.

It''s too bad you hated being preggo and those first few months of moetherhood, otherwise you could have so many beautiful babies.

LIA
Haha....who would think that there is temptations in the mommy thread huh?
Blame it on all the mommies, especially the ones w/ good taste or has too much time researching on the computer (Tacori and TGal:P)
Look at the explosion of purchases on BOBs and Boon Chairs
9.gif

Sorry to hear that Coby is not sleeping as good as he used to be.
Could it be teething?

QT
Hope M is feeling better.
Seems like kids are getting sick again and I thought the season of colds is a thing of the past.

iluvcarats
You are petite
2.gif

Hehe, too funny about Ava using the sleeve as her napkin (at least she''s using something instead of her bare hands right?)
So how are your 2 monkeys doing?
They should be out of school for summer pretty soon huh?

NF
How exciting that you guys are going to buy a house.
First time home purchasing is overwhelming but fun.
Good luck w/ your home search!
And thanks, it''s rare that I can take a good picture of her these days.
How''s about letting us see some recent pictures of your Max and Dex?
2.gif

puffy
Haha, I''ll just shave him bald if I have a boy.
So much easier w/ the shampooing and bedhair.
Woohoo....your first prenatal is coming up soon huh?
Awee...how sweet DH is spoiling you already.

J isn''t doing too well unfortunately.
Had to take her in today for a checkup because she had diarrhea and vomit the last 2 days.
Dr checked and she lost almost 1 pound
8.gif
and her ear infection got worse.
So we got the antibiotics for her -- hopefully it doesn''t make her run and vomit (as that can be a side effect).
We''ll have to get her to drink pedilyte too (which she''s not taking) because she''s a bit dehydrated.
Hopefully she''ll be a little better tomorrow.

Courtney

Looks like you''ve got some good advices already regarding BFing
and sounds like you are on the right track.

Burk
Sorry to hear you got sick over the weekend.
Hope you feel better.
As I was telling puffy, J got worse over the weekend and we did take her to see a dr today
8.gif

Got the antibiotics for her ear infections -- hopefully it does the job else we may have to postpone our HI trip.

Tacori
9.gif
too funny about the PSA on putting a toddler in t-shirt to bed.
Hehe, if she can take off her diaper...me thinks potty training is in order

Diva
Wow, James was a big baby for under 37wks.
Imagine how big if you''d gone the full 40wks?
I guess he''s anxious to get out of there since there isn''t much room for him to move huh?:)
