here are the little cousins

Oh my God, snlee -- what a story!! I got all choked up and it even *almost* made me want to go through pregnancy and childbirth again just for those first few moments together! Your avatar is adorable - we''ve got framed photos of G and K''s feet over their beds
21.gif

MrsS, holy cow, Jake is six months already!!! Wow. I mean, I guess I knew that all the April babies are six months old now, but knowing it and KNOWING it are two different things. I always think of them as being so much younger than G & K, but it''s not really all that much! He''s adorable, as always, and the photo with his cousin is just too sweet.

Burk, that photo of Tayva made me laugh out loud! As did the bit about having a bat in the house (not that it''s funny - I just didn''t expect it)! Eeeek. Maybe keep it around till Halloween and then get rid of it
2.gif

Speaking of Halloween, not sure I ever told you what we''re doing for costumes? I got Gabe a fireman costume and Katelyn is going to be a black cat. I''m not getting a costume for her per se, but we''re just dressing her in all black (got a little black velvet dress at the twins sale, and my friend is going to crochet my some black leggins), going to get her ears and a tail of course, and draw on a nose and whiskers. I don''t know why, but I just wanted to do this instead of a premade costume for her. Some weird Mommy thing, I guess. So we''re not doing any type of "pairing" with their costumes, but that''s OK - I think they''ll still both be cute. I''m pretty sure of it actually
9.gif

OH, and I am NOT pregnant!! Still no period, but the test said uh-uh so I''m going by that. Seeing how Q and I were completely stressing about it makes us realize that we''re "two and through" for sure. If we had another baby now, our entire lives would have to change: new house, new car (or more likely, minivan), triplet strollers, etc. There''s no way we could afford three in diapers either. Yikes.

Ella, yay for not being preggo!!!! Have some wine to celebrate.

Burk, such a funny picture! LOL! Growing up we had a bat in our house TWICE. We had a big stone chimney and animal control said they were probably sleeping and lowered themselves as the sun got stronger and "fell" in. They can fit into a size of a quarter. They are gross!

MrsS, oh love the picture with Jake and his cousin.

BTW Dee*Jay, MrsS, Jas, Burk, iluv, (sorry if I forgot someone!!!) I mentioned the Chicago GTG with DH and he is all for it. I told him other DHs will probably be there and he said he doesn't mind either way. What a good sport! So I just have to wait to see what day my sister's shower is on so we can plan the GTG for the *other* day. I am pretty sure it will be the weekend after good friday. Wow, I feel so important that so many people want to make this trip! I am excited to meet all of you who can come. FYI I am not planning on bringing T. But you never know!

So, my sister came in town this weekend and we had a blast. took the kids to a couple of fesitvals which were fun. here''s one of Jake. I cannot believe he''ll be 6 months tomorrow

I think I will be too late for the GTG. Bummer. DH has a conference in chicago at the end of April
8.gif

I was so excited. Oh well. Maybe next time!

burk what a GREAT picture of T!!!

snlee B started to sleep through the night at around 6 or 7 weeks. he kinda went from waking up once to be nursed around 3am then he just stopped one night. and ever since then, he''s been the best sleeper, but during teething and being sick, he did regress. we didn''t sleep train him either. i ALWAYS responded to his first cries, i know i was an obsessed first time mommy. he is almost 10 months and sleeps about 12-13 hour at night with 1 or 2 naps in the daytime. but all babies are different.

ella glad to hear that you are not preggo! i couldn''t imagine twins and another one on the way?!? my friend has a 10 month old and is expecting her second next month! HOLY COW!!! her kiddies will be 11 months apart. CRAZY! i know i have baby fever right now, but realistically, we probably won''t even begin to think about it for at least another few months.

MrsS--what great festival pics. Looks like u had fun with your sis. Fall is such a fun time for photo opts. The outdoor colors and festivities are even nicer than christmas IMO.

Lili and Puffy--thanks so much for the cruise info. I''ll bring a bit of food to be on the safe side and do as puffy''s friend did (get the staff to help out). Lili, i agree, cruise ship staff are amazing and i know many of them go above and beyond to help out. I really hope Cohen won''t be one of those annoying babies that ppl roll their eyes at (i doubt it cuz he doesn''t cry much at all and if he does at a formal dinner or something i''ll make an exit)

Burk--yikes, that is one crazy weekend! Catch your breath yet? I remember trying to trap a bat in my dorm hallway in university (I was a Don so i moved into my apartment early and was prepping for the student''s arrival) i ran up and down the corridors with a towel and finally managed to snag the thing out of mid air. Nutty. I actually think bats are cute, just not in my living quarters
14.gif

That new pic is hilarious--could she get any cuter?!

Ella--PHEW! glad for your sake the test was negative. Stressful few days i bet, but at least you now know where you and DH stand on that issue.

Snlee--i bathed co with just water for the first few weeks (short bath each night cuz he loved it) i still bathe him each night with some all natural soap and i don''t use any lotions or cleansers. As for sleeping thru the night...here''s hoping it happen for me soon. Co turns 6 months this week. Hope you are getting some rest.

Busy weekend for me--ran a big annual charity event (i had to arrange caterers, decorations, live music, auction, bar etc) at a hotel with Cohen strapped to me all day. That was fun
5.gif
i took on a bit too much and felt really overwhelmed (i do it every year but obviously not with a baby so i underestimated how much more challenging it would be) but it all got done and we raised lots of $ for Juv. diabetes
36.gif
.I was exhausted sat. night but my sister called with an offer for 2 free platinum tickets to see an NHL game (DH is a HUGE hockey fan and as i type he is watching and REwatching the footage of himself in the stands on TV-looooser) so we took off really early to go to Toronto. Down and back in one day was a lot of driving but Co slept the whole way home in his jammies so that worked out well. It was a ''travel test'' and he passed ;-)

Made a quick stop at BRU to look at highchairs. Why are most of them so ugly?
Tacori-i looked at the boon. I really like the aesthetics of the chair part but DH doesn''t like how it can''t be tucked into a corner b/c of what he calls the hairdresser chair base. That doesn''t bother me, but iam wondering if you find the tray area small? When i worked at the daycare i used to get toddlers to do stuff in the highchairs (play with blocks etc.) so they would be at eye level for me. I don''t know if Co will spend too much time in his HC beyond eating, but iam just wondering if you find that surface area lrg enough to accommodate more than just finger foods. Also, does the white material stain with dark stuff like pasta sauce or blueberries? it does look easier to clean than some of the others and i know you heart your boon!...
Also going to look at reviews for This one
and This One
I like the idea of a wood chair since we live in a 100 year old home.

Jas12, well I would not spend $400 on a high chair (like the bloom one you posted) Yikes! My neighbor has a wooden one. Not the company you posted but a similar design. I used it once for T, HATED it. What a mess! The space between her and the tray and the space on the side was just a magnet for food.

Here are the things I love about the Boon:
Style (I wouldn''t want to hide it
2.gif
)
Wheels (my friends with HC w/o them wish they had them)
Height adjustment (she can sit at table or counter height)
Easy to clean (white pad pops out. I haven''t noticed any stains. You can buy replacements in lots of colors for $20...I think or they make a white chair with orange pad)
Boon uses safe plastic/materials
Liner fits in the dishwasher...comes with 2.
Easy to us (height is done with a foot button, lock easy to use, tray goes on and off with one hand which is a BONUS!)

I guess the tray is small...very small compared to other''s I have seen (though I remember the wood one being small) but it is not a big deal for us. I can fit lots of food on there and I never really thought she would do anything in it BUT eat. The only part hard to clean (but I think this is with ALL HCs) is the straps. They are fabric so yuck. Hope this helps. I posted more info in the must have thread as well.

mrss~What cute pics of Jake and his cousin!
30.gif

Ella~Yea, the bat thing was crazy. I was a total baby about it. I'm a tough cookie about most things, but birds and bats, no thanks! Big sigh of relief for the negative pregnancy test! It is stressfull thinking about another baby. Those costumes sound so darn cute. I cannot wait to see pics. You'll post pics, right?

Tacori~Thanks. So bizarre that you had a bad in your house twice! DH was actually asleep when the darn thing flew at my head and I screamed and hit the floor! What a baby I am. THe animal control thought ours got in through the chimney too! Keep us posted on the Chicago GTG. I would really like to go, and I think Dh would probably be a good sport and tag along, too. I think it would be so fun!

iluvcarats~Thanks!

puffy~Thanks!

Jas12~Still feeling really tired from my crazy weekend. Sounds like yours was equally as busy! What a great cause! I find it hilarious that you caught a bat with a towel and my DH called animal control.
3.gif
oh, and way to go Co being a great traveler. I love hockey!

QT~I so see the resemblance between you and M! So cute!

Snlee~I already commented earlier-but another *pat on the back* to you! WOW!
36.gif
Cute pics. Every baby is different with the sleep thing. My T was doing around 10 hours by 10 weeks. She would go from 7pm-4 or 5 am, get up and feed and go back down until 8 or so. She then had some reflux issues and things were a little weird but by 5 months or so she was going from 7-7 or there abouts. She still does about 12 hours at night and then takes two naps during the day. Hang in there, ,mommy!

Jas~Can't believe your're already 6 weeks post-partum!!

T has a check-up with her pedi GI doc tomorrow morning so I took the entire day off work so we can shop and spend some time together (the Children's Hospital her doc is at is an hour or so from here and they have WAY better shopping than us). I'm hoping her doc will allow us to stop with the meds and see how things go. I just feel like the poor girl has to take more drugs and she's onlly 8 months! We'll see what he says. She's been doing so much better with her reflux lately. I am hoping that she's growing out of it. Okay. Gotta do my nails and head to bed. 'Nite mommies!

Burk, ummm...a flying rat...who wouldn''t scream?!? It is scary! I did not realize they could get into such small spaces. *shiver* I will keep you updated FOR SURE on the Chicago GTG.

Good luck to T tomorrow!!! I hope the doc agrees and takes her off. Have fun shopping.

Tacori~ Thanks! Probably end up buying T more stuff she probably doesn''t need. It''s a sickness I tell ya! Yea, those flying rats are abolutely disgusting. Even DH was apalled that the animal control guy wanted to stay and "chat" while he was holding the bat in his hands!
16.gif

Burk, LOL at T's picture! Cracked me up!

MrsS, aww cute picture of Jake with his cousin!

Ella, yay for not being pregnant! I wonder what is up with your cycle.

Jas12, lili, MrsS, TGal, I can't believe your little ones are 6 months old this month! Crazy how fast they grow up!

That's great you guys are planning a Chicago GTG. I am jealous you'll all get to meet each other!

Thank you all for answering my many questions and for your kind words!

I got a haircut today and chopped off about 7 inches!
6.gif
I grew my hair out during my pregnancy and loved how full and shiny it was. But it kept getting in the way while BFing and it's just easier to take care of when it's shorter so I took the plunge. It feels so much lighter and I love it! And now I don't have to worry about D grabbing my hair or hair getting on his face.

Burk, I always buy stuff for T too...Her stuff is just so much cuter than mine
2.gif
Did you get the laugh and learn house yet?

Snlee, this motherhood thing is confusing, scary, tiring, but wonderful and the best thing in the world. Ask away! We all had and still have questions and that''s what this thread is for. I know we are all happy to help. Congrats on your hair cut. I did the opposite, cut it while preggo then grew it out. Short hair is *more* work for me than long though.

So Tessa has been so much more loving lately! Last night she walked NINE steps and jumped into my arms (I was sitting on the floor) and gave me a huge hug.

New info on SIDS here ...

Lor, makes my heart burst for sure! I know I won''t *always* be the most important person in her life so I am enjoying it!

Ella, how interesting. We ALWAYS sleep with our ceiling fan on (and she has one in her nursery too).

QT
Same here -- was wearing short and tanks and showering everyday.
Just hope I don''t pay for it later on
23.gif
with headaches and backaches.

Ahh....forgot that you were one of the lucky ones with a sleeper as well.
Wow, sleeping through the night at 3 weeks.
Yeah, they are alot more work when they are awake more huh?

Any news on the tests for Meena?
Any recent pix of your mini-me? :)

Burk
LOL....love the shot of grumpy Tayva.
I see blackmail written all over it :)
Wow, you''ve got a full plate there and you still have time for PS?
And eeek about the bats....but Ella is right about getting rid of them after halloween
9.gif

MrsS
Jake is too cute in his overall and cap!
Love that picture w/ his little cousin.
Look at that smile.
You can see how much bigger he is.
He''s about 5-6 weeks older?

Tacori
Wow, 9 steps?
And whose heart wouldn''t explode with a big bear hug from that cutie?
You must be a proud momma.

Ella
They can go as themselves and still be cute ;)
Wheewww..glad to hear that you are NOT pregnant.

snlee
Would love to see your new ''do.
Speaking of which, I think Ella still owe us a picture of her new haircut!

jas12
Glad to hear that Co passed his "travel test".
And I''m pretty sure Co will be a good boy in the restaurant.
Even if he does act up, I''m sure no one would roll their eyes at that cutie pie.

Ella--thanks for the info. I have a fan/air filter in Co''s room so hopefully that counts
I wonder about the sleeping on the back thing. Co flips to his stomach now and will not sleep on his back any longer. I don''t force it. I figure if he can flip back and forth then smothering shouldn''t be a big concern right?
40.gif

Tacori--so cute that T is more loving--it''s gotta make your heart melt eh?
Yes that one high chair is SO expensive . If it was *that* special i wouldn''t mind paying that much knowing we are going to have a few kids, but the boon is very similar (just a smaller tray really) and 1/2 the price. I wouldn''t want to hide the boon per se, but i think DH is just thinking about how much room all our baby gear takes up. If you can believe it we don''t have a single closet on our main level (kitchen, living/dining, b-room) b/c our house is over 100 yrs old and i guess ppl just didn''t have so much stuff back then or something--drives me nuts. We entertain a lot and have to bring everything to our basement when we have ppl over--PITA
Ahh well, i''ll find something that works. thanks for all the info...

Burk
Good luck with the appt today and enjoy your girls' day out w/ Tayva.
I hope that T will outgrow her reflux soon too.

Jas12, part of what makes it safe is the huge base. You should look for that in any highchair. I bet your house is beautiful. In high school we lived in a house built in 1920 (but we did have closets and lots of built in storage) and it was such a lovely home. If you do decide on the boon I got it on Amazon for $180ish.

Lili, she is just getting so big!

Burk, the pix of T just cracked me up...I love it!! Hope the GI appt. went well!

MrsS, Jake is so cute in the little car, and the smile is just too precious. Happy six months!

Ella, yay for not pregnant!!!

OK, so the black cloud is still hovering over our household. Long story short: I started getting dizzy in my third trimester and the OB said it''s normal to be dizzy with pregnancy. Fast forward to 6 months after little B is born still the dizziness is with me everyday. Family doctor refer me to a Neurology and the Dr. send me to get some test done on my inner ear.

Well, it''s not the inner ear so Dr. ordered a MRI on the brain of the nasal area.I called to get the result yesterday and the nurse said I need to come in, there''s abnormality in the MRI and the Dr. will tell me more at my appt.

I keep telling myself not to think too much of it and it''s probably nothing big but I just can''t get it out of my mind...

Thanks for letting me vent, I feel so bad that I''ve been dumping sad news here and have no happy news to share...

Burk, the picture of T cracks me up!! She is such a little cutie pie.

Mrs. Salvo. Jake is adorable, love the picture of the cousins.

Linda

bobo so sorry to hear about the "bad news." but i guess try not to worry unless there is something for sure to worry about. hoping that everything is fine with you and whatever is causing the dizziness will resolve itself soon. try to be positive.

tacori that''s so great that she took 9 steps and gave you a hug! that would have put a tear in my eye. but speaking of affection, B actually gives kisses now with the whole pucker up thing and the sounds too. it''s pretty cute. he loves to give kisses to me, my parents, our dog, but not so much to DH. hmmmm, wonder why? T will probably be walking to go trick or treating. that''s going to be so cute!

here''s a pic of B. i''m starting to notice that a bunch of his pics are looking alike. haha.

Bobo
*hugs* Don''t feel bad about venting here.
We are here for each other -- good and bad.
I hope it is nothing serious. Keep us posted.

puffy
Awwww.....little kisses from the wee one.
It is funny that Brady is not as affectionate to his dad.
He must sense that daddy is the macho man type
9.gif

That''s going to be so cute that he''ll be able to walk to trick-or-treating.
What is he going to be?

:D His pictures look alike cuz he''s just one happy cute little boy.

Bobo, I hope it is nothing. My thoughts are with you!

Puffy! I cannot believe how many teeth B has! Tessa is behind. Haha! I figure she will be walking well by halloween too. Probably still bring the stroller though. Cute about the kisses. T will give me a few slobber ones but she seems more of a hugger (for now anyways). She LOVES to walk to me and jump into my arms and of course I love it too!

Lili, since J was SUCH an early crawler I bet she will be walking soon too!

Burk, how did the pedi appointment go?

Lurk alert....

I was just looking at the article posted about SIDS. I had NO idea that babies are supposed to be put to bed with a pacifier, as a means of SIDS prevention.

Why is this? We don''t even plan to use a paci, for any reason.

However, now I''m curious about what the connection is? Does a baby breath better if sucking on a paci? Does it keep the air ways open?
