Queen Elizabeth is seriously unwell :(

I was so sad to read the confirmation just now. :(sad

I remember Princess Diana’s death vividly. We were in NZ and I was getting ready for school. I scurried out into the hall for something and saw the news banner on the TV screen - volume was down - and yelled to my mum, asking if it was a joke, why they would joke about that?! And she said no, it was real, and I - still too young to know anything about anything - felt heavier all of a sudden. Like I’d just got filled up with bricks.

Maybe five years later, in school in America, we had to do some project about a public figure whose death had personal meaning. I do remember my teacher and classmates were pretty bemused by who I chose. That was before the internet took off, though... The monarchy was beloved in the Commonwealth in a way that didn't translate outside that context, back then.

I know that in 25 years I’ll remember today the same way that I remember the Princess’s passing. I saw this on Twitter earlier -
Amazing stat noted on the BBC: The first prime minister to serve Queen Elizabeth -- Winston Churchill -- was born in 1874. The latest -- Liz Truss -- was born 101 years later, in 1975. The world will mourn the loss of a leader, mother, and inspiration. :(sad

R.I.P., thanks for everything!

DK :cry2:

RIP sweet Elizabeth.

I think it's crazy to think almost everyone alive currently have never known another leader. This will be a huge, huge change.

It's a sad day for Britain and the the world. She was a beacon.

A very sad day for the UK and the whole world.

Will Harry and Meghan's children now be HRHs, as grandchildren of the monarch?
What is Camilla's title now?

Harry's children will remain without Royal titles, as the Queen's death doesn't affect that.

We now have King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort.

Rest in Peace, Queen Elizabeth.
Long Live King Charles III and Camila, Queen Consort.

I’ve had a little cry already. The country won’t be the same without her.

the whole world isnt the same htis morning
we only just woke up to the news we have a KIng

all the news readers must have had their black clothes ready
on tuesday when i was doing the money at work i was looking at her really closely for the jew;es)

at least she is with her dear husband now

I’m at a loss for words.

When our politicians are reality TV stars playing with the lives of the people of their country, our monarch has been dutifully serving her subjects for seven decades.

I hope her spirit and legacy will continue in Charles and William and the rest of her lineage <3

May she rest in peace. She was the epitome of dedication and service to her country. She pledged that as a young woman and fulfilled it so eloquently. So many things that she dealt with during her 70 year reign; least of all the problems within her own family viewed so publicly. I think the passing of her husband was the beginning of a downward spiral for her but she held her head high and kept on with her obligations. I have greatly admired her spirit and tenacity and my deepest thoughts are with her family and her people.

I’ve just realised William is the Prince of Wales now.

i think he is duke of Cornwall till his dad makes him Prince of Wales
i just heard them (the news ) call kate Princess Kate
not the time to nit pick i guess
i know HM was very old but i find all of this is happening too quickly

i wonder how the little Cambridge kiddies got on at school on thier first day ?
so much for normality
what do we call them now ?
