Queen Elizabeth is seriously unwell :(

God bless the Queen.

My deepest condolences to all our UK friends. Queen Elizabeth was highly regarded all across the world, not just in the UK. She seemed eternal. In a way she will remain so, but she will be missed.

if i hear one more reporter say the Queen of England im going to explode
(not exteneded to Americans, only subjects who should know better)

i wish my mother was here because i dont know what to do
does one go to church to pray for the Queen's soul and for the new King?
can i hang out the washing (im running out of sox)
i won't defrost birthday cake, that seems way inapropreate
i did break out the better coffee because life is too short to drink so-so coffee
maybe im surposed to drink tea ?
i hate tea

@Daisys and Diamonds I raised a glass of cider in her honour.

She would not want any fuss, and would probably prefer life goes on and business as usual.

DK :confused2:

@Daisys and Diamonds I poured a very large & very stiff whiskey. Although it was 6.30pm here & I wasn't getting up for work. However if I was, maybe I'd have done the same.....

The Queen was my hero. Somewhere my mother has a photo of me handing her a bouquet when she visited my little primary school, in the arse end of the Cheshire countryside when I was 8. I think I'll ask her to find it out of the attic, then I can frame it & hang it somewhere in the Vicarage.

My own fond memory of the Queen...

I was born in Hong Kong in mid 60s when it was a British Colony.

In 1977, as part of her Silver Jubilee tour, the Queen visited Hong Kong, and she attended an evening horse racing event in her honour at the Happy Valley race course near my school and the flat where I grew up.

Her Rolls Royce or Daimler and entourage would travel along the street where I lived to the race course.

I was allowed to join other people to line the street, which had floodlights installed for the occasion, to welcome and to wave at her.

I remember to this day the joy I felt when I was able to see her in the flesh even in passing, such was her impact on me.

R.I.P. Ma'am. :cry2:

The Queen is dead, long live the King and please do not mess it up!

DK :cry2:

It would be quite poignant when I visit Buck House and Windsor Castle later this month for the Platinum Exhibitions.

DK :cry2:

when they came to Dunedin one time, HM was on the otherside of the street
My mother had taken us out of school for the day so we were right at the front of the barrier
it was the Duke who stopped to talk to mum

I never saw the royals in NZ but my mum and dad were both on the plane that she took in 1995 to come to Auckland. I've still got the two pens they gave them on that flight! I remember saying it was terribly unfair that they'd been able to fly with the queen, and my mum said she was very relieved I hadn't been there as I'd probably have been loud as anything and would definitely have gotten the side eye from the security guards keeping her safe up in first class :silenced:

i feel like Ozzy

Black Sabbath vocalist and reality TV star Ozzy Osbourne posted tribute to the Queen on Instagram, saying “I mourn with my country the passing of our greatest Queen. With a heavy heart I say it’s devastating the thought of England without Queen Elizabeth II.”

All sorts of famouse people in the above link

I love this! Such a fun memory!

I have never been to England, but I was able to snap this picture of William and Kate when I was in Canada a few years back. I was excited to get to see them.

While I have never been interested in the royal family from a celebrity standpoint, I have always found the life they are born into very interesting. It’s so different than what we have here in the states.

That said, I was heartbroken to hear of the Queen’s passing. She was a very strong woman who served her country for an incredible lifetime.

She’s dignity, grace and service personified. The world will not be seeing the likes of QEII for a long time, if not ever.

ETA: I lived in Scotland only for 6 months during the referendum for Independence. Although there were intense political disagreements on whether to remain part of the UK or not, I never heard anyone say a disparaging word about the Queen or the monarchy (at the time, anyway). It goes to show how respected and loved she is regardless of one’s political or cultural/social views.

I was very sorry to hear about the Queen's death. She was a roll model for class, service, duty and how to calmly carry on through anything. She will be missed and leaves behind big shoes to fill. RIP Queen Elizabeth!

As Chair of the PTA, I was introduced to the Queen when she visited my son’s school. She asked why I’d chosen the school (she was Patron) and I told her that there were lots of good girls schools in the area, but not boys, apart from Eton, where her grandsons went. She laughed and said “oh yes”. She was tiny and exactly how she looked in photos.

i remeber seeing her in 1990 when NZ turned 150
she was again on the other side of the street
she was in bright yellow
and she was smiling the whole time
i had never seen her smiling before but of course now we know she smilied a lot and thankfully in latter life she let down her guard a bit or maybe the press got kinder and we started to see that smile more in the media

I wonder if we’re going to see Camilla wearing lots of the beautiful jewellery the Queen has worn on special occasions? You’ll have to keep a look out for us @Daisys and Diamonds and keep us updated please.

Vale HRH Queen Elizabeth.
From a young girl thrust into a role she wasn’t expecting after her uncle abdicated she shone brighter than any jewel.
She was regal in every sense of the word, she was committed wholly and entirely to her duty as Queen. She never faltered, never wavered, no matter what she took a deep breath and went on .. and on.….. and on.
She was loved, no more, beloved.
Journey well Your Royal Highess, your Philip will be waiting.
