More beauties for your collection. I LOVE that chyrysoberyl!! The spinel is gorgeous too but I love the pastel fire coming out of that stone!
Dani, hun - this is supposed to be fun! Take a deep breath, and take a weekend drive to your local maul store.Date: 9/19/2008 5:15:58 PM

Lauren - Those are great!I totally want to come and play in your jewelry box.
So.... BBB... said they''d have the Ritani setting in for me to look at.......... yesterday. Called them today. No setting. I was seriously considering driving the 3 hours to Pearlman''s tomorrow, but called around and found a Maul store that has the darned thing (I hope!!!!! Sounds right!!!) so I can freaking look at it and decide what the heck I''m doing! Bah!
I am so ready for this to be DONE.
THANK YOU MISS PINKY!!! I sure hope so! Did you find a wedding band yet?Date: 9/19/2008 5:08:25 PM

Yayyyyyy! I know you''re going to be sooooo happy when it gets back. And all those people who said you were crazy for sending it back to be recut will eat their words when they see the firecracker on your finger
I know Lauren, I know. And it was fun - the first time. Now it''s tinged with this oh-sh*t what if I screw it up again mentality and the desire for it to be PERFECT!Date: 9/19/2008 6:46:54 PM

It''s going to be so incredibly reqarding when you have it all finished!
For us, mostly, since we want those pics! But, surely for you, too!
Yes babe - it is possible to be addicted, LOL. And I think that a solitaire would be a ton of fun! What about an amethyst in rose gold?Date: 9/19/2008 9:14:54 PM

NEW ADDICTION STARTING!!!!! (seriously--- is anyone else an addict that doesn''t drink or do drugs?)
So I think I''ve taken LTP''s advice and given up on that yellow sapphire thing, but a couple of girls in rocky talky showed me an ebay store that has incredibly cheap but well made settings. (Thanks luvmyhalo and beau13). I''ve been on PS for several months now and have gotten the itch to start my own colored gem collection! Funny how that happens. I can''t be spending a lot of money, but I figured I could start small and still have fun. I have a thing for very simple solitaires, even though they don''t compare in beauty to the gorgeous elaborate settings people around here have. I decided against the sapphire until I have more money to spend, but I was thinking of getting a pretty but inexpensive gemstone and putting it in one of these. http://stores.ebay.com/American-Set_Settings_14k-settings_W0QQcolZ2QQdirZ1QQfsubZ4796542QQftidZ2QQtZkm. Yellow or white gold, depending on the stone. Even rose if they have it. What do you think? A smallish untreated stone in a beautiful color with a great cut. Any ideas?
I haven''t bought any yet, but when I do start I''m going to go with some of the sites that people on here have purchased from and hope for the best!Date: 9/19/2008 10:12:26 PM

That sounds pretty! How do you know which stones have a great cut? I messed up in that department on my diamond, I don''t want to do it again! I know there aren''t the same kind of strict standards for colored stones, but are there certain vendors to stick with in order to be assured that the cut is good? I know Jeff White and Richard Homer, but I have a feeling their stuff will be too much for me to spend right now.
I stand by my assertion that Barry Bridgestock at www.acstones.com is one of the most phenomenal cutters I''ve ever dealt with. Friendly, and the Mozambique I bought for him has addicted me to his lovely chunky style of faceting. I see many, many Barry stones in my future.Date: 9/19/2008 10:12:26 PM

I''ve also just bought those 2 stones from Dan Stair, and I can''t wait until they get to me! I''m sure he''s just as talented!

That sucks about your trip Dani. They''re not called maul stores for nothin!! When will you get to see them?
Heh. Adam is sentimental about the diamond. Could care less about the setting. Although I think that once I finally pick something, I''m never going to be allowed to change it.Date: 9/21/2008 10:56:09 PM

That''s funny, my fiance wants me to use the band he gave me on our one-year annviversary of dating as our wedding band. (We''ve been together for 8 1/2 years.) I agreed, as long as I got to change out the teeny tiny little diamonds for ones that are white, not gray, and actually sparkle! He agreed, so I had my e-ring band shaped to match it. I suppose that would not work so well for you. Guys just don''t understand the matching thing do they? But I do love how sentimental they are about the rings they buy us! Are you definitely planning on wearing them on the same hand?
