Dani, I''m soooo sorry, but you have to find the RIGHT ONE!! Don''t give up! You know we''re always here to help you!!

On the uppy front, my diamond has landed at Pearlman''s, but Julian is still on vacation until Monday. Bill will have to unmount my stone and send it out for a full sarin report. My stone is HRD certified, and that doesn''t include all the minute measurements, and I figured since it will be unmounted that now is the time. The setting is due from BevK on the 19th (Fri.) and then has to be set. Bill will do a final appraisal before sending it back out to me. With all the turn arounds and the registered mail, I''m sure the soonest it will get back to me will be around the 26th, or heaven help, maybe even as late as the 1st!!

Thanks Upgradable!

The 26th isn''t that far away hon! You''ll make it!

Lookeee what I found.... Palladium... both under $400.... 6 prong..... Hmmmmm....

Are you still concerned about a flush fitting band, because I don''t think that''s going to happen with either of those two settings.

I think I'm over the flush fit, LOL. ETA: And the band on the top one tapers by .5mm, which will help too.

Ooooh I like those Dani! I was late to the hugs party. Sorry

But.... here is your HUG!!!! (I don''t know how to use all those fancy emoticons!)

Anyway I think the top one of those--- you know I''m partial to cathedrals anyway--- would allow for a pretty decent flush fit. Maybe not perfect, but just a teeny tiny little gap. They are both gorgeous though and would work very nicely with your .75er. I love thin bands as well!

Thanks Kelli. I''m really leaning hard towards the first one above.

I mean, the Scott Kay is gorgeous - and $900.

Basically I can get the Scott Kay and a plain band or the Novori with my Tiffany Jazz replica...

Hey misspinky!

How ya doin?

LS

LS--I''m good! Soooo busy with classes picking up that I haven''t had near as much time as I would like to check in here and see how everyone''s projects are going.

GD--The pink deliciousness is happily residing on my finger and currently looking for a friend (ie-wedding band). I''m not concerned with it sitting flush--any suggestions?

I really love the first one here Dani, I think it will enhance the size of your stone. And it looks so dainty! With one of those pink sapphire bands it will look stunning.

Hi Ladies!!

So sorry I''ve been missing from the party! Busy busy this week. Dani....so glad you''ve been able to find something you like.
congrats.gif
Scott Kay does beautiful work. I was tempted to use one of his rings as my wedding band.

Kelli- How is your process going girl? Are you getting close??

We''re making progress and everything seems to be back on track. I''m now dealing just with the owner and feel much better. I''ll post a thread in RockyTalk I guess so that everyone can see my CAD. I have to let them know by Tues if everything is a go..so it would be nice to have a 2nd opinion. Go on over and check it out if you have a minute....
Happy Saturday to all!

Thanks LS.

We both really like the Scott Kay, and I really don''t want to have to go on a setting hunt again anytime in the next several years!!!

ILE - I found the bands on Overstock.com.

Yay for your CADs! I''ll have to go and check them out.

Dani-

You must post pics once you have it...is it the one you gave us pictures of earlier this week??

Thanks for the tip on Overstock. I posted my CAD pics...it''s over in Rocky Talk. Let me know what you think...

Thanks for asking ILE, but no.

Not really getting close. Vera said Brian should have it in his hands no later than Monday. I soooooooooooooo hope that is true. But unfortunately, then they just have to send it out for re-certing. I was told this process also takes two weeks, plus the added time it takes for shipping. And I know I need to be patient, but so far their description of "two weeks" has not been very accurate. And still after that, I was hoping they could change my prongs to lower the diamond a little and I have no idea how much more time that could take. The original estimated shipping (back to me) date was Sept. 16th, which is Tuesday, and very obviously not going to happen.
39.gif
Anyway...... I can''t be calling and bothering them, I know they are doing their best, I''m just so tired of explaining to people why I''m not wearing my ring. They always tell me I''m crazy and roll their eyes at me and I''m growing very weary of it!

ANYWAY---- I saw the cads of your ring and I think it will be a stunner! I love emerald cuts and your set will be beautiful!

Dani I like that scott kay one very much! It will be so nice for you when you finally can fall in love with a setting!

Hi Kelli,

AWW NOOO!! I''m so sorry to hear that they are still delaying returning your precious ring!! I can certainly understand how hard it is to be without it. BIG HUGS coming your way!!
face23.gif
You must post pics once you get it!! I''m sure it will be FANTASTIC!!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my ring pics. I know that I love it, but just hearing it from you guys makes me that much more sure. I was freaking out that it took them a month to get to this point. I had a long talk with the owner today, and he assures me that it will be perfect or he will accept responsibility and cost for any errors. I felt sooooo much better after we talked! I''m hoping to have mine by mid to late October so that my FF/FI can FINALLY start telling people we are engaged!!

Thank you ILE! Believe me I CAN''T WAIT to post pics of my finished ring, especially pics of it ON MY HAND!!! I wonder which of us will get their rings first??? I am really hoping that the re-certing goes by fast and that they can have the new prongs ready when it gets back to them so I don''t have to wait too much longer. Hell I''ll be thrilled just to know it''s safely done! This is SOOOO nerve-wracking! I''m glad you''re feeling better about your ring, I wish you a speedy waiting period

Hi Kelli,

I wish you a speedy return on your ring as welll!! You''re right it will be fun to see who gets theirs first!! Hopefully all of this process will be worth it for us both!! I never said I was a patient girl and this waiting is just KILLING me!! Many hugs and chocolate coming your way until your ring is here!!

Ok you guys told me before, but tell me again. I have to get my diamond re-certified right? I was told that Brian would have the stone in his hands by today at the latest. Now, thanks to Hurricane Ike, I''ve been told "maybe Wednesday." It''s been seven weeks since I''ve seen my diamond and the end is still not really in sight. I TOTALLY understand that they don''t have power and that there''s nothing they can do. I''m also very happy and relieved that they are all ok. But I also know that more and more time keeps getting added on to the "two weeks" that Brian Gavin originally told me over the phone. And I know that they don''t ship on Fridays. It''s looking to me that it''ll probably be another entire week before it even gets shipped towards the AGS. At this point I am absolutely DESPERATE to have my ring back. I am somewhat newly engaged and have nothing to show for it. Because of all the delays, I am really strongly considering skipping the re-certification and just asking them to reset it and send it back to me once the recut is done. My arguement to myself is that I can always get it certified at a later date, when it''s been on my finger for a while and I''m not missing it so terribly. Also, I was under the impression that you CAN get insurance for un-certified stones, as long as you have an appraisal done. It was already graded an I VS2 by the GIA, the only thing I''d need to know is the new carat weight and a general idea of the cut quality. I would be more than happy to take it to an appraiser near me if need be, or just have whiteflash do that if possible. I just can''t see waiting all that extra time. What do you guys think??

I also had one more question. I had hoped they could change out the prongs to lower my setting, but realize this would just add even more time to this wait. Do you know if they have prongs in stock, or do they make them specially for each ring? If they had them in stock, it seems that process would be faster. I know I could ask them all these things, but they have so much going on right now that I didn''t want to bother them. Any opinions on my situation would be GREATLY appreciated. I also appreciate anyone who took the time to read all this and listen to me whine! Thank you!

Okay -

1. ((HUGS))
2. As long as they are not doing anything crazy like custom making you a head, they should be able to just swap out the one you have with minimal time lost.
3. If you don''t care - just get your ring back, take it to be appraised and go from there for insurance. ((HUGS))

Hello ladies!

I''m debating on making a separate thread for this, but wanted to hear from you first.

As you know, I''m having a sapphire band made, but I haven''t decided how I''d like the stones to be patterned.

Originally, I was thinking sapphire, diamond, sapphire, diamond, like below:

sapphirediam.jpg

But since we're talking small stones (less than or equal to 2 pointers!), I'm thinking maybe something like this so the sapphires really POP. Sapphire, sapphire, diamond, sapphire, sapphire diamond. Two to one.

sapphsapphdiam.jpg

A third option: Three to three.

What do you think?

I like the 2 to 1 pattern.
