Go, Dani! Good for you for recycling those old pieces!
9.gif

Ya know, I just recently sold all of the jewelry that was ever given to me by an ex-boyfriend or my XH. It was VERY liberating!
2.gif

I do still have the diamond from the e-ring my XH gave me, and my old diamond studs that were also a gift from my XH. I recently listed them on CraigsList . . . here''s hoping they sell soon!
22.gif
Where are you from? *stalks craigslist*

And omg LS it''s Monday. F5 F5 F5...

TEE HEE HEE!!!

No cads yet MP. For SURE they''ll be posted as soon as they arrive! It''s a holiday Monday here in Canada and sweet DH doesn''t understand why I don''t want to go anywhere that involves me losing my connection to the internet....

LS

Ack, LS - I''m afraid I will be getting NO WORK done today while waiting for the CADs to be posted!

OK so I have done the following "busy work" today:

coloured my hair
bike ride
hike with the dogs
laundry
cleaning my jewellry
9.gif
9.gif

tweezered my eyebrows
shaved my legs
2 pots of tea
F5 F5 F5 F5
Printed out photo prints of everyone''s rings I love at WF (THAT took care of a fair chunk of time!)

AAACK

We have a dinner committment out of town, which means I''m leaving here in about an hour for the evening....SURE HOPE THEY ARE HERE WHEN I GET BACK!
3.gif

OH the agony. Thanks for keeping me company!

No Star Sapphires for me today. I went in to get them - and was NOT happy. They were supposed to take my old solitaire setting and swap out the 6 prong head for one more suitable for a cabachon stone. Supposed to be 4 prong to match the earrings....

They just took the sapphire and dropped it into the 6 prong setting. The profile was awful.
23.gif

They''re fixing it.... but.....
7.gif
h

OH NO. Someone didn''t pay attention to your instructions! How long for them to fix it?

What did the earrings look like? Any pics?

LS

The waiting is torture!! I am waiting for my .65 natural ceylon sapphire to be set in a palladium solitaire mounting (from The Natural Sapphire Company). I keep looking at the pictures and trying to view it on my hand!

The earrings looked good. No pics -they kept them for reference. *sigh*

Yeah.... not happy.

I didn''t ask how long. I''m assuming a week.

Waiting for LS to get back and *hopefully* post some CADs.....

I saw the pics on the other thread - it''s going to be beautiful!

OK so I got the CADs.

They''ve done a pretty good job of interpreting my concepts. The only thing I really don''t like is the transition at the point of the pear into the yellow gold.

I want that to be much less obtrusive, and blend upwards to the pear gently with a soft transition, not a big wonky prong at the end of the pear in YG.

(the only reason for the YG is in deference to my original ER - I don''t want to see it from the top side....

And, I want the prongs on the sapphire to be dainty claws, not the regular ones as in the dwgs.

So we''re close. I''m not ecstatic but really the only thing bothering me is the transition from WG to YG at the pear tips.

(this cad dwg also has a really cruddy dark sapphire: nothing NEARLY as nice as mine, IMHO that is!)

shoot, just realized I posted these on the wrong thread...sorry about that.

Will repost

It looks awesome though LS! How much longer now?? I sent my ring out today. The guy put it in a priority box and said they should probably have it by Wednesday. I can''t wait to hear what Brian says! I have been on pricescope all day because I''m off work for a couple weeks and now I can''t think of anything else!

MissPinky: can you do me a favour and photoshop my stone into the WF pic with the top of the ring looking straight on?

That horrible dark blue is throwing me off.....

Thanks, if you have a minute.

LS

Hi Kelli

Probably 2-3 weeks tops. Once the CAD is approved it goes into production, and I think they will be pretty quick because we''ve got all the stones ready at WF already.

Good luck with yours! What exactly are you doing? Got any pics?

LS

LS!
Its going to be fantastic! With your gorgeous blue, yowzahs! The prongs always look like that in CADs right? Then they turn out all tiny IRL. Gorgeous! You will need a new moniker on PS, lost no longer.

WOW....AWESOME...LS!!!! Wish I could go down to WF and see it for myself.....

LS- It's going to be beautiful! I agree on the transition and the prongs. Will your husband care if you have it in white gold instead of yellow? Then it wouldn't be an issue at all.

ETA: It looks Soooooo much better with your sapphire in there!

WOW!!! LS, that is going to be a gorgeous ring, and I can''t wait to see the hand shots!!!

I really like 2-tone rings, even though they are not really the style right now. And I see some movement away from the WG/Plat back to YG. So I think for the sake or honouring what my original ring is, we''re going to do 2-tone.

I''ve been second guessing myself on that for quite a while now, and it was sweet DH who commented today who said: "WOW that''s quite an upgrade but I''m really happy you have built some design elements of the original ring into it".

If he''s happy, so am I. When I''m wearing my current 2-tone diamond (3 stone door knocker), you hardly see the YG, just on the underside. And my wedding ring is YG so this works out fine.

la dee da....just waiting for the tweaking at WF. Should be able to post something into Gemscoop tomorrow later in the day. YIPPEEEE

Holy crap LS that is stunning! Looking forward to hand shots! I''m having my diamond recut, well hoping to anyway, if Brian approves it. Ours will probably be getting out of there around the same time.
