Hey LS and everyone! To answer your question from last night--- YES IT IS nervewracking waiting for a recut! But she was so steep and deep she had a big old ring of death in some lightings. Excellent cut my @$$! But it wasn''t her fault, she just needs a makeover! But I''m a little bummed because it''s been three days (priority registered mail) and she''s not even there yet.
39.gif
I''ll feel much better when I at least know she''s in their hands. And Brian''s gonna take a look at her first of course to make sure it looks safe. If I can trust anyone with my diamond it''s him, right? At least that''s that idea I got from ps, and then that idea was confirmed when I talked to him. She''ll tell me all about your sapphire when she gets back I''m sure!

I hope it''s ok for me to post here. There is no rings in waiting thread in rocky talky! Those star sapphires look awesome btw!

Aw! I'm sure they'll take good care of your diamond! And she'll come back all sparkly and new.

Ooh! I think it looks cool! MUAH!!!

I have kind of a funky sense of style (if you hadn''t noticed by the ering, LOL) and I really think the NS orientation will be cool. Phew!

Thank you SO MUCH!

Yay for Coloured Stones! (I spelled that all Canadian/Aussie/European for you and everything).

I am honoured that you would consider our behavior to be of such a high calibre so as to qualify to be in coloured stones. We love the flavour of this thread, and consider it to be a safe harbour from our daily labours.

Hope you can someday come to my parlour for some yogourt some day. I''ll wear my pyjamas!

So we''ll endeavour to stay friendly and supportive while we harbour feelings of anxiety during the wait for our jewellery. Meanwhile help yourself to a doughnut, it will add some fibre to your diet!

Your girl will be in very good hands! WF even has a very high-security receiving department: it''s all videotaped, and each package is tracked separately. NO WORRIES!

How long would it take to recut once they''ve looked at it? Any idea?

LS

I took a couple stabs at it as well. I rotated it a couple different ways.

Off center.

Centered style one.

Centered style two.

Hopefully these help! I think it looks the best in this last one.

Thank you!

My husband pointed out the fact that the lines on the star move and rotate a bit with the angle of the light anyway, LOL!

Men. So reasonable. No fun whatsoever.

Thanks for the reassurance (again)

Brian said probably about two weeks-- give or take a few days. It''s not really so bad, but unfortunately patience is not one of my virtues

That is very exciting! So am I correct to assume that you are the Future Fiance?

How long will it be before you get it?

LS
I stand by my decision to go for the NS alignment.
1.gif
I think it makes it just a little bit funky, and I like that.

''Sides. If I get it, and don''t like it, I can wear it while I look for something else to pop into the setting, LOL! I really think it''s going to be fun though.

Thank you to all of my Photoshop wizards!

Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I lived in London for a little while, and spent a fair bit of time working for UK companies, so my husband gives me grief when I spell things with a ''U'' or with an ''E'' on the end.

Too funny!

Jeweler called with a preliminary wax for my ruby. I ran over there, made some comments, and revisions will be ready on Tuesday.

I dropped by yesterday and he had the ring cast in gold, but had done no smoothing yet. I was able to try it on. I told him I wanted to be able to stack it with another ring that I happened to be wearing (my little green chameleon diamond), so he had me leave that ring with him so he could work with it. I think he is going to lower the profile a bit. The semi-bezeled head was looking pretty nice. Once I approve the ring, he has a benchman who has been trained in engraving who will go at it. I want some engraving on the surface to add interest. Preferably some sort of wing or feather design (to represent my flying, of course). Not sure yet what kind of design he has in mind. Whatever it is, I''m sure it will look neat. (I hope!)

I like the wing design idea! That would be awesome.

Well, the band is fairly narrow, so not a lot of room to put wings on there. It may end up being more like overlapping feathers. Actually, I''m not sure at all....

It sounds like a GREAT project. Do you have a timeline on the finished product yet?
