Attention PS experts, I have a question!
Have the sapphire earrings been altered? I think the dangly bit used to hang from solitaire diamond on a lever back hook before, but the pics from yesterday suggest the solitaire is now a stud that goes directly into the ear. Am I imagining this? Do you think the earrings have lost some of their charm with the alteration (I do)?

Hmmmm...kudos to you Prince with the eagle eye!

When I look at the bottom picture, what I see is not a lever back, but an earring with the back not pushed all the way on so the front sags (I say that from experience). However, I find it odd that a detail like not totally fastening an earring would make it out of the Duchess' dressing room.

I personally like the new version better (whether or not it is an alteration or just more securely fastened0. Before, you couldn't see the diamond straight on and it lost some of it's sparkle with the sagging. Now you can see the stud in all its glory.

However that one is IMHO actually an "after " pic where the post is drooping.

I generally prefer the more true antique look of the hook design

And if anyone was like me and wondered where the Earl of Wessex was, Edward is in Kenya with the Duke of Edinburgh awards but the gutter press only prints idiotic stories about H&M, not real news focusing on the good the rest of the family work to highlight

Isn't this a small rose-cut diamond pendant? I believe she's had it for a few years.
