Royal Jewels

Very true, and the Greek-style tiara is staying in the family, now with the Princess Royal, and hopefully pass down to the next generation like Zara.

I wonder who would inherit HM's bracelet and engagement ring when she eventually leaves this earth. :confused2:

DK :))

Charles, who will keep the long-term loan to Catherine. The ring won't be worn, just like other royal engagement rings (bar Diana's)

I hope they will become like the Albert brooch and become heirlooms of the crown unless Charlie sets up a jewel foundation

This was the occasion @prince.of.preslav . I was Chair of the PTA, and was introduced to her. She asked me why I had chosen the school, and I told her that there was lots of good girls school in the area, but very few boys, except for Eton where her grandsons went. She said “oh yes“ and laughed.

Wow, I certainly didn't expect a video of the occasion! Thank you for sharing and what a nice memory you have :)
Not sure I recognise the brooch, but it looks like a floral one. Might have to dig a bit.

There are so many beautiful crowns and tiaras amongst the world’s royal families. I wonder if there is a protocol as to which ones are worn for certain occasions. I would assume that at a coronation that the big headpieces are worn. But for a wedding, state visit, funeral or private dinner the choices may be more select or diminished. Is there a protocol…written or unwritten?

On the occasion of Southend-on-Sea becoming a city
Is that a daff Charles is wearing ?
Is it for a cancer charity like we do here ?

It’s most likely to be a daffodil. It was saint Davids day on the 1st of March. Saint David is the Paton saint of Wales, and the daffodil their national flower. It’s cuter than wearing a leek I suppose!

Yes of courses
Your right
I wouldn't mind seeing a leap themed brooch though

Daffodils are also part of Southend's coat-of-arms.

Again with the earrings! I would hesitate to flit about in a tiara in public, but these earrings (or the ones on Marina) would fit right in for me! :D:kiss2:

ETA: I am unfamiliar with royal lineages (save for QEII and immediate family), so these could well be the same earrings, for all I know. :)

Prince Philip had a bunch of older sisters who may have inherited jewlery
She did give him a tiera to dismantle that became the Queen's ER and the Edinburgh wedding brackete

Not that i am giving even one scape of legitimacy to the historical fiction series The Crown but Princess Alice did become a num and founded a religious order and did charitable endeavours durring WW2 - she may well have sold some or a lot of her jewlery for the benefit/ survival of others
Princess Ann was gifted the tiara that Alice gave Elizbeth, hopefully somehow it comes back into the main BRF line and doesn't end up in an auction block when Philip and Zara inherit their mother's estate
Both Ann and Charles were old enough to have known Princess Alice quite well so hopefully that counts for a lot as Charles seenms a sentimental kind of soul

The Princess Royal has been in the Netherlands
Princess Anne, who became patron of Mercy Ships International in 2021, today commemorated the launch of the charity's new hospital ship, Global Mercy. The princess royal traveled to to Rotterdam to meet medical and maritime volunteers preparing to sail to Africa on Global Mercy

The brooch looks like square knot used by sailors. Very appropriate for the engagement :)

Lovelly Sophie was at number 10 for the launch of the Girl’s Educations Skills Partnership, an initiative to improve girls’ access to education and employment in developing countries.

In days gone by surely a public engagement with the PM would have involved a lot of royal bling
Still HRH looks very nice and is doing much worth while work

I see earrings but saddly no brooch
I would have liked a large beaded necklace (some antique bakalite to stump the internet jewel sluths for a few hours :lol-2: ) over the coat but maybe that wouldn't be practical visiting with small children

Not royal, but I couldn't resist sharing some classic noble bling with you!

Last week the Marquess and Marchioness of Blandford attended the Blenheim Ball in aid of Starlight Children's Foundation. Lady Blandford wore an antique sapphire and diamond necklace and matching pendant earrings.

Camilla has an excellent sence of humour
Camilla met actress and filmmaker Emerald Fennell at the Women of the World Festival event at Clarence House today, which was held to mark International Women's Day.

I can see the similarity in the face...but I didn't realize how much taller Emerald is than Camilla!

LOVE this necklace! Not sure about the "matching" earrings...other than similar gemstones (sapphires) I don't really see anything matching about them.

Yes, matching as in stones, not style and age.

It's been reported that HRH the Dowager Countess of Paris has passed away at the age of 83.
While not as well-known as the wives of other pretenders and not often featured here, to me Michaela had a certain charisma and brought a lot of colour at royal gatherings. Now this flamboyant couple is reunited in eternity.
