i dont think ive posted these particular photos before the earrings look familar ;)2
;)2

i hope you are right
i think the issue of giving back that diamond would be a big can of worms because the gutter left wing anti monarchy press wont let it go

i do like the Telegraph, i trust them to have more realiable sources

but i kind of also love the idea of refurbishing Queen Adelaide's crown
surly they have a selection of unset gems they could use ?

The bigger can of worms would be setting the precedent for returning items from Britain's colonial past. The dumb thing to do is starting with an item (the Koh I Noor), which was purchased rather than looted.
Funny enough, no one talks about the Timur ruby, which is equally as important.

another low jewel moment
from the gutter exspress

.......meet with President Dr Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, of Malawi, at the State House in Lilongwe........
She completed the look with a pair of her favourite earrings, which she has worn on numerous occasions in Africa over the past two weeks.
These are silver and diamond-shaped, featuring a ruby-coloured stone at their centres.

1000 Paddingston bears left for the late Queen have been scrubbed up and are being donated

i could hope perhaps she has a brooch on that jacket :lol-2:

i think this would make the late Queen very happy

not quite royal
but it turns out Laura's wdding anniversay is the the same day as the coming corrination
i hope she gets to wear her mum's family tiara again
it looked so lovelly on her wedding day

actuallly i hope everyone's family tiaras get to come out
especially the ones who have seen it all (past corrinations) before

as i said i know nothing about horse racing
after more reading it apears it was in fact very rescent :lol-2:

now i am a great admirer of the Danish Queen
so i post this with love in my heart

but while we are waiting for the corrination (or the next state visit)
im going to shear a funny (to me) thing
so my Bruce Springsteen forum has technical difficulties on ocassion and i couldnt change my avitar pic
it had temporaly been The new king and Queen after being a NZ flag at half mast for offical mourning but as Bruce is releasing a new album its time to be Bruce again
so i was just playing around a bit
our webmaster is from Denmark and my name is Daisey (jeep)
i was having trouble finding a file size small enough and i came across this one
and Queen Margrethe has been in the news lately
so i am lending her some support from across the miles by being HM for a few days

To clarify - the dogs belonged to Queen Elizabeth II and have been taken on by Andrew after her death. Sarah is celebrating her 63rd today, hence the post on IG.

The bracelet spells her daughters' names.

Sophie with the president of Ethiopia Sahle-Work Zewde
who has a nice brooch on

this is turning into a really big tour
too bad all i can mostly find is about shoes and clothes

News out of Luxumbourg...Grand Duke Guilliame and Grand Duchess Stephanie are expecting another baby! :)

Off topic, but I would like to know: Reports indicated that the Queen had 4 dogs at the time of her death, but I have only seen reports about the two corgi's being taken in by Fergie and Andrew. What of the other two dogs?

some one in my Springsteen forum asked the very same thing two days ago
(im a cat person)
hang on a mo while i go see if i can find the answer

edit the dorgi passed away in July
so we only have one doggy MIA

I think the other dog was a Cocker Spaniel. Can’t find anywhere that says where it’s gone.

I have since found an article that said that the cocker spaniel had been living with its trainer at the time of the Queen’s death. Maybe it will just stay there?

wow that ER !
the braclete is charming (if i ahd a younger thinner neck id want a choker conversion)
but thats the best picture of the ER ive ever seen
The Queen mum had great taste

I love that bracelet stacking selection.

my friend in the UK sent me this story
i am sure you will all approve of the photo on the card !!!
1666556121030.png

do you think they had the card all ready to go as part of operation spring tide ?

ok so i do know this thread is about jewles not actual royals
but we also a forum of primarly woman and the tour that the Countess of Wessex recently undertook highlighted a subject that should be of concern to all woman (and men too) rape in war
so durring HRH's tour i really struggled to find a really good article on Sophie's work
but i just found this
intersting to note that her work with vission related charities extends back before the birth of Lady louise
it is a free article in that they let you read one free article

but i shell play by the rules and post a tiara too
completly unrealted to the tour :lol-2:

i hope Charles finds the time to get into the vault with a feather duster and see what is tucked away that might like to come out
especially for Sophie

Would be nice to see some of the lesser worn pieces brought out for an airing!

Interesting question...

I don't think there are any tiaras "reserved" for the Queen like they have in Spain (Joyas de Pasar). Maybe unofficially the George IV would only be worn by monarchs or consorts, but I see no limits on something like the Alexandra Kokoshnik.

I will say I don't know that anyone should wear the GGBI for a while. That was such an ionic piece for Her Majesty. I don't think jewel watchers are quite ready to see someone else wear that one yet (I'm not).

The ladies who have only worn tiaras once (Beatrice, Eugenie, Meghan) might stick with what they wore for their respective weddings. They will know what to expect with a piece they've already worn.

Sophie loves aquamarines. Let's give her the Brazilian parure.

Catherine loves sapphires. Let's give her the George VI sapphire married parure.

The Princess Royal has several tiaras of her own. Should she go with her classic Festoon parure or something sentimental from her mother, like the Vladimir?

The Westminster family have quite a few tiaras as well. I really hope someone busts out the pink Bagration tiara!!

I completely agree (minus the Vlad, it will stay for Camilla).
The Bagration parure is mesmerising! I saw the tiara in June and fell in love with it. I can imagine the rest of the parure is equally gorgeous.

State Visit from Belgium to Lithuania, day 1

A new brooch for the official welcoming ceremony. It features a bow supporting a double row of laurel wreaths holding a sapphire pendant. Diamond solitaire earrings are another royal staple.

Then the Wolfers tiara and long diamond earrings with briolette aquamarine drops for the black tie dinner. Minimal, yet stately!
