Joined by her husband King Willem-Alexander, Maxima hosted members of the public who had previously penned letters to either the King, 56, or Queen, 52.

During the meeting, an in-depth discussion about the letters took place, with themes ranging from solidarity to social security, housing, and climate.

i think this is the last day of the tour as Queen Camilla met with charities that work to support survivors of sexual and gender based violence.

Yesterday, The King and Queen of Spain embarked on a State Visit to Denmark. As usual, Queen Margrethe II hosted a glittering State Banquet on the first evening full of sparkling diamonds and other family gems!

The hosts and their distinguished guests at the receiving line:

The Queen of all Queens wore a very special set - the emerald parure from the Danish Crown Jewels kept at Rosenborg Castle. The late-18th century parure is reserved for the grandest occasions! The circular brooch is the middle section of a much larger devant-de-corsage and the first time I see Daisy wearing it on its own.

Queen Letizia wore her largest tiara - La Buena, which was made around 1906 as a wedding present for Queen Ena. Together with the tiara, HM wore an oversized pair of sapphire earrings from the collection of Queen Sofia (probably a Middle-Eastern gift), a fleur-de-lis brooch from her own tiara and one of Queen Ena's twin bracelets.

Surprisingly, Crown Princess Mary didn't wear her largest set - the mighty Napoleonic rubies. Instead, HRH wore her own ruby and spinel necklace/tiara with cluster earrings and a lovely floral brooch from her late father-in-law:

My personal favourite (besides the emeralds) is the always so elegant Princess Benedikte. She wore he largest jewels - the Berleburg fringe tiara, her diamond necklace and brooch/pendant. The other floral brooch I'm not familiar with, it seems to be a more recent addition to her vast collection.

If last night's glitter was not enough, the British King and Queen are taking care of an extra dose of sparkle at today's State Opening of Parliament!
It's a debut for Camilla and I can't wait for extra photos! I even expect the Crowns!

...and some extra royal diamonds - The Duchess of Willington is also at Westminster in the family tiara, massive collet necklace and earrings. The Duchess was born Princess Antonia of Prussia, a great-granddaughter of the last Kaiser.

State Opening of Parliament vol. 2

The Queen didn't only debut the State Diadem, but also a collect necklace with a long family history. Made in 1862, the impressive rivière was a wedding present from the Corporation of the City of London to Princess Alexandra of Denmark on her wedding to the Prince of Wales. The wedding present also included a pair of drop earrings.
HM also wore her own Coronation earrings and a simple tennis bracelet of baguette diamonds.

Two of the Queen's Companions (technically ladies-in-waiting) were also in attendance, as in past reigns. This year the Royal Couple of accompanied by the Marchioness of Lansdowne and Lady Sarah Keswick, both wearing diamond tiaras.
Lady Lansdowne wore a large floral piece. The central part is detachable and she wore it as a brooch in May at the Coronation.
Lady Sarah wore two tiaras - a solid fringe (yey!) and a smaller convertible piece. I don't have any information on either of these. She is a descendant of the Earls of Dalhousie.

So glad to see Queen Cam having access to the late QE II's jewellery, including the one with long history!!!

Not sure if Queen Letiza's more casual hair style suited that mega tiara - it needed an up-do, and a BIG one!!! But hey, so pleased to see her wearing a big tiara!

DK :kiss2:

That pendant, although full of history, and I would not say no if it was given to me, it did look rather too small for demure for Queen Cam for a formal evening function IMHO.

DK :))
