Everyone has such beautiful dresses! I''m having so much fun looking at them. What a great idea to put them all in one place! Can an old married gal post hers too?

hehe

EM1, I absolutely adore the ruffles on your dress. The back just is divine!!!

The Peter Langner dress is amazing too, goldenstar. Beautiful!! I love dresses that have unusual details! Oh, I wish I could get married all over again!! Dress shopping was by far my favorite part of planning.

Thanks, Cleopatra and marchswallowbird!

Cleopatra, good call on the Maggie Sottero dress! I did see that one (online, at least) and it's really, really similar. The main differences are that the MS has beaded lace and a corset back. Maybe that's what I saw on the blogs?

ETA: marchswallowbird, I just went back to the beginning of this thread and saw your dress. It's beautiful! I like that it's a combo of both satin (sorry if that fabric isn't actually satin, I just mean a non-lace satiny material) and lace -- I feel like satin photographs better but for me the all-lace dress won out.

My dress was a Maggie Sottero (Amelia). I loved it, and I got so many compliments on it. Best of all, I got it on sale, and my veil was free! :)

This is the front detail.

And this is the back detail:

And finally, the (bustled) profile:
It was made of taffeta so it super swoosy and easy to dance in!

Mine''s Maggie''s "Rio" gown. Although it doesn''t look very good on the model...if I would have gone from that pic I wouldn''t have looked twice!

WOW EmeraldLover1, so unique, so beautiful.

I am awed at the amazing style you all have..

Thank you, you are so sweet.

As far as I''m concerned, Portia, EVERYONE is welcome to post their dress! All the dresses are gorgeous, and it''s just so much fun to see dress after dress on this thread.

Oooh, fun thread! Here''s mine:

Robbie - your dress makes me wish I''d had a ballgown style like you. That is just STUNNING.

Awe, thanks, October2008bride!

PS - I just wanted to point out that you can see Sabine in that pic! She was my MOH so she's up at the front by the huppah.

Here is the dress I am leaning towards. I am older, 43 and this will be my second wedding. I didnt want to go too formal.

Thanks, LoveSparklies, I love my dress also, for me it is perfect. It's actually silk shantung and lace.

Jbazz, I couldn't see your dress; my work blocks access to your link.

I wore Casablanca 1792.

I had the neckline changed to a sweetheart and cap sleeves were added.

your dresses!

Mine was the now discontinued J.Crew Goddess dress. I got it on final sale. My beautiful bargain-shopping mom--in the photo with me--was proud!

No bustle needed, since it was so simple. I had a little ribbon attached so I could hold up the tiny bit of train.

Portia, I want to see your dress! Post it!

All you ladies have such great taste!

My dress is Watters and Watters Tuscany. These are pictures of the sample. My dress will have an ivory sash, NOT platinum as shown.

The back:
rubybeth, I love the back of your dress! JCrew has some really nice gowns. I''ll see if I can find a photo of mine to post... we didn''t get the best wedding photos - a lot of them are very dark.

OMG, Robbie, you look stunning! I love the volume of your ballgown and that tiny little waist of yours. Beautiful!

This is such a great idea to post all the dresses in one thread... kind of like the wedding thread. Everyone has such incredible taste!

Here''s mine from a bit more than 2 years ago; Alfred Angelo something-or-other. I still love my dress.

Here''s mine. We were married a little over 2 yrs. ago.

Portia, your dress is beautiful! May I ask who designed it? My friend got married in a similar dress (ivory sash instead of black, with a slight sweetheart neckline), and I loved it, but I never found out where she got it.

This is my dress!! I just bought it yesterday! but it looks different on me, they front is a little lower so it is not as conservative, and I wore a petticoat with it, so is a little puffier! It was a sample sale, the dress was originally 1300 and i got it for 650, but after alterations and dry cleaning I really only saved the cost of the veil which was $250, I got it from a bridal boutique on Miracle Mile called J Del Olmo, the material had little white pearls and sequence on it, and it like a lace material!
