Overall thought ... the arrangements were totally MEH-gretable ... WAY WAY too SLOW. Standards are slow, sure .. but this was GERIATRIC slow. Turtle-using-a-walker slow. Sllllllllllloooooooooooooowwwwwwwww.

Wow, tonight was great for so many of them! They''ve really got some talented folks this year, it will be tough when it gets down to the top 3-4ish!

Soooooo I agree, it''s either Mace or Pickler this week. Pickler because she did indeed butcher it, although her admitting it WAS kinda cute, and Mace because he''s just generally grease-ball-tastic, even though he did do a little better with his song this week.

I LOVE TAYLOR!!!!!!

Ok he said that the next idol will be a boy. That was an odd choice of wording, like guy sounds better. Then he said Chris is his top pick. He said as a record producer he is across the board great and a no brainer. Ok that''s my summary of what he said. Not his exact words but you get the jist.

I loved reading your live blogging ladies! Totally a highlight of the night. I want to preface this by saying that I thought, everyone (except) Pickler did very well tonight. I was impressed and completely entertained!!!

Chris: YUM. SLURP.

Paris: Hated the "smooth operator" hair and outfit. She sounded good. The eye fluttering is always over the top. It was no Fantasia "Summertime" but she did a good job. I think that Fantasia''s hard knocks life helped her out during her Idol days. Paris just doesn''t have that "realness". Know what I mean?

Taylor: At first I was a little bored, but then, it was awesome! Magic. I love Taylor!! He''s awesome no matter what!

Elliott: He definetly was outshined by the first three. I thought he was adorable, though. He sang the song well but it sorta paled in comparison to Chris, Paris and Taylor.

Pickler: I thought she looked very pretty tonight. Lysser, they cut her hair last week to make it look rocker. So that is what she''s left with. Vocally, it was TERRIBLE. I am a trained singer and it did make my ears bleed. Bless her heart, though, I did think she was kinda cute.

Mace: It was good until the falsetto. I don''t get what Randy and Paula see in the falsetto. I thought it was cute when Simon gave him the compliment and he got all excited. He did look a little skeevy. I''d give him a haircut. He wasn''t the worse tonight.

Katharine: Man she''s just soooo darn beautiful this girl. She can sing. She''s really good. There is something about her that doesn''t translate well in her personality but man.. she is technically the best singer they have had in Idol history, IMO.

Going home? Gosh. I don''t know at this point. Bottom 3 based on performance: Kellie, Mace and Elliott.

I''m a softie this week.... I must be drinking Simon''s happy juice.

ok here i am with my WC live blog, all alone with the rat on the other side of the couch and hamburger and fries in hand (gourmet from a local restaurant thank you very much!).

watching the collage of rod stewart in his younger days was scary, like horror story scary. was he that popular with the wimmens? ew!

chris is up...i like his choice and i like his outfit. yay chris. he was a little light on the vocals but i think he did a great job. i'm glad to see his wife in the audience, keeping that pickler at a distance.

is anyone else tired of paris's baby voice? me too. i wasn't into the grownup look, i mean when you are 17 do you REALLY need to look 30? don't think so. the voice was great though.

i'm kinda bored though, all this slow music. eating more fries to console myself.

WOAH! paula's boobies are huge! what's she taking for those things!

taylor...his song is slow, but his voice sounds good. i like the song..i'm just so...bored. OH but then he perks up at the end. a little spastic but it's perky.

oh it's elliott!! he looks like he's having so much fun with the song and he sounds verra smooth and nice and strong at the end. loving it elliott! but even though i love him, the teeth are still a little knarly. just a bit.

kellie sounded pitchy up and down and all over but i did like her prom dress, it finally showed how tiny she is instead of those other random outfits. didn't like the lame stuck out bottom lip though..what are we, 12?

oh no it's MACE. GOD he friggin ANNOYS ME. i can't even look at him. 'when i was singing i was looking at rod for approval'..HA HA..oh i bet buddy! eee and the slicked back hairstyle is a little freakydeaky for me. pitchsville.

katastrophe actually sounded lovely...well her voice is lovely. but i was kind of bored again. oh GOD when she says 'i can't hear you' to Randy because of the cheers, GET OVER YOURSELF!! big thumbs down to the ego.

Well...I loved the standards...yes, they were a bit on the slower side coming off of the Queen week, but I loved it nonetheless.

Of course, using my usual scale of performance per performer...


Chris..............7 out of 10........Like Randy and Simon said, he changed things up and did very good...just a bit shaky at points.

Paris..............8 out of 10.......I liked how strong her voice was right away, but her outfit definitely was too office like...........

Taylor.........8 1/2 out of 10...Started off just so-so, then kicked it into high gear and was very fun to watch and he did good.

Elliott..........5 1/2 out of 10...Sweet guy that he is just got in over his head, I feel...He tried and giving it all he got, however...

Kellie.............4 out of 10......Sorry, but that was truly very painful to watch and hear. I have a bit of a background in singing and that was just so not even ok...Too pitchy...and the sweet gal that she is knew it just was NOT a winning performance...I have a feeling that this could be her ticket home...

Ace...........7 1/2 out of 10...I know how alot of you feel about him, but he did very, very well in performance, presence and confidence this week and it showed. Yes, his falsetto is his ticket for him, whether it helps him during AI is another matter, but this guy did good tonight. Speaking from a musical background, he scored well whether anyone agrees of not...

Katharine....9 out of 10......Yes, I know, I know...no one gets her or really wants to but she sings like a bird and tonight she shined ever so brightly. Her stage presence was divine and her makeup and vocals were superb. I probably wouldn''t give her or anyone a 10 on this competition because they ALL have alot of learning still to do and growing as recording and performing artists, but she brought the house down. AI is only part a popularity contest. The other part is whether someone can carry the torch.

I voted like crazy for Ace, Katharine and Taylor. I feel Chris has enough people voting for him so he does not need mine. Paris and Elliott, too.

It still is a vivid and strong competition and that is what makes this show worth tuning into. I had hoped Katharine would choose the song she chose for her voice and when she started singing, I was thrilled to hear her rendition.

Chris sang a beautiful and meaningful song to open tonight. Yes, that seriously took balls and he did well. He has sung better other weeks, and with his fan base, I am not concerned about voting for him...he''s fine.

So...here''s my take on tonight and I stand firm on my voting...
Gotta go to vote some more for Ace and Katharine!

Mace is creepy wrong, although he was better tonight! I''m fricken sick of how he throws in the falsetto at the end of every damn song!

Kellie the butcher, hit the nail on the head with her recap of her own singing! But...then I kinda liked her for taking the knocks and not thinking she rocked like some other sleazy guy thought he did last week!

I think Mace, Kellie, and Paris will be in the bottom 3...just because I don''t want Elliot to go quite yet!

I think you hit the nail on the head there Tawn. The girl can sing; however, I think she has learned from her grandmother how to sing. Moves and all.

I hope that is a good sign that he has a huge following on this side of the country. Just for fun i tried Taylor and Chris''s lines and always got busy signal''s for them too.

I just don''t get Chris. It just seems so wrong to have that "angry at the world" look on his face while singing "Wonderful World." I''d like to see a different facial expression on him just once while he sings.

Ace looked very creepy in his suit with the slicked back hair. I know he was trying a different look, but maybe he should try a haircut instead.

Kelli looked great but sang terribly. Pitchy and was 2 measures ahead of her music at times.

Elliot--better but still dreadfully boring.

Paris--I like her better if I close my eyes.

Taylor--proving once again that he is destined to be the "Wedding Singer"

Katharine--looked beautiful, sang well. She could use some of Kelli''s personality...just a bit.

I bet Ace goes although Kelli sang worse.

And to add - they were joking after Randy made the comment about a boy winning this time. Ellen was pointing to the boys and asking "So, does he have a chance - to Ace - and Randy joked - kinda blowing Ace off - saying "well, he is a boy." Ellen pointed out the other boys.... Yes, he said Chris would be the easiest of all to sign. He said nice things about Taylor........then to Elliot - "he can sing but his personality doesn''t translate on air - and in the end that makes a difference" - paraphrase jest of it.


.................so I fear Elliot may go next THOUGH he doesn''t deserve it. Mace...Mace..Mace..Mace. & a bit of Paris.

I STILL couldn''t get through - but hubby came through for me. He was in NC & was able to vote for Elliot 20 times! YEAY! He couldn''t get through until closer to 10:00 & did get many busy signals - but was determined NOT to see Ole'' Elliot go home. My cell phone decided it didn''t have enough signal to work - maybe they power down at night.

I thought everyone did pretty well tonight except for the little mink. But, as many noted, I like that she knew it and was humble about it.

Well, I did continue voting for both Katharine and Ace right up till the bewitching hour...Thank goodness for the redial button! Sometimes the line was busy so i know I wasn''t the only one voting for Ace! HA!

Voted for Taylor and Katharine, too, but stayed redialing for Ace till 11pm West Coast time...

All in all, I feel it will get down to two who will outshine the others and I am pretty confidant of who those two will be...so eventually all will go except for them...that means that Ace WILL have expired his time on AI eventually...but then so will Elliott. Time to face the truth, people...

Tonight will tell us all if our dialing helped or not...

Amen to that Mara!! My bf and I called 8:30-10pm straight through for Elliott and didn''t get through once. I called my mom and made her try a couple of times too -- she got through twice.

I REALLY REALLY hope MACE goes tonight. He is just not on par with the rest of the contestants. And if he does the little lean over to one side and half raise the arm on the other side boy band approved move one more time I am flying out to LA and slapping him silly.

on a sad note - my work now sometimes blocks (not everytime though!) this site so I can''t post as much. But i still get the SNARKTASTIC posts to my email - thank goodness!!

Oh, and Mara - I did mention the cell phone thing to a local friend. When her husband couldn''t get through on land line, she suggested the cell. Although he did get some busy signals, he was able to get through in double digits!
