Somebody's Gotta Buy This Piece!

Big, glowy and a pretty clear gum drop of an emerald.

Beautiful craftsmanship and weighty.

Lovely carre cuts with a bit of a retro vibe to the setting.

She has a nice light red fluoro, but that also showed two areas near the dome of the stone close to the setting that I am thinking are resin because they fluoresce white and are by some small surface reaching inclusions. She did not come certified.

Love all the views of her except face down, the setting looks very masculine.

So I am a bit torn!

Face down as in when she's on your finger and you’re looking at it? If that bothers you I would consider a return - this is beautiful but not a cheap item. I would also consider resetting because with those stones you can make something awesome, but that also comes with a high cost of course.

Could we see some hand shots or a video? I agree with @Mreader, if you're not head over heels in love with it, return it.

Do you have photos on?

I’d like to see hand shots!

Two excellent Erstwhile finds, both size 5.5.

It is a beautiful design, but look at those numbers on the center diamond (38.5ca/42.4pa, with a depth of 64!)

Yes, when I am wearing her and looking straight on. I am considering returning her, honestly with the lovely craftsmanship I would not reset the stones.

Unfortunately I don’t have any hand-shots on this device.

Btw, I've started the process to return the ring from MaxPawn. I've decided it's absolutely lovely, but isn't making my heart soar the way I would hope. So if any of you are interested, keep your eyes on their website in the coming weeks. 20250120_152317.jpg

Can you remind of the price?

They were asking $4500, and accepted my $3800 offer. Plus they charge your local tax rate on top. My guess would be it's somewhere between a J and L, but I'm not very good at discerning color. No fluor.

Thank you!

The old repairs and all the cracks/seams make me nervous. If you have a good jeweler who can inspect it for you during the return period, then it might be worth giving it a chance.

Yeah, repairs on platinum done with white gold solder are bad news. (Ask my how I know.)

It's 40% off, so no returns allowed.

Haha. Ok. Thank you. I can not buy anything with out PS approval. I was only after the stones really, not the setting
Oh, I didn’t realize this was meant to be a donor ring! If you really love the stones and have a setting for them, then go for it!

In that case...maybe? The sapphire is dark, which is a matter of taste--that's some people's preferred color. It's chipped and abraded. It has a big window, which might lighten the tone, but might also make it less lively. It has obvious inclusions. It looks natural. The diamond looks yellower to me than their claimed G/H. The facet pattern is somewhat chaotic, which is also a matter of taste--some people may prefer that. Both stones have antique charm, but are far from trade ideal.

Ahhh thank you!! I’ll pass on it then. I love so many PS sapphires but I don’t know how to identify a decent one.

I have a TrR site credit I need to use but I’ll find something else. Back to the drawing board.

I am a first look memeber. I saw it immediately, clicked on it and it went from pending to sold in 2-3 minutes. Those pears…sigh

I know they are so dreamy! Ugh
