Not sure how I missed this…. I love how this conversation came out!

@lavenderdragonfly23 STUNNING!!!! This is a ring of my dreams. I need to lose two finger sizes and find $6000. Any ideas?

Any size 3.5's out there? This beauty is up for auction, ending Sunday, and I absolutely love the details.

Well, this lovely was bought by an IG seller. Final auction price was $1324. I guess I should be happy they're asking for less than double?

It’s time for me to set this one free. That little OEC really speaks to me, but the truth is that I’d probably never take it out of its setting, and I don’t need another little diamond ring. $400 for approx 1/4 carat.

I accidentally stumbled on an Etsy shop and a new IG seller that belongs to a newer PS member. I’ve noticed they’re also now selling a ring set that you posted in this thread a few weeks ago. I recognized some of their loose stones they were selling and a ring that I knew I saw here - I was searching Etsy for some loose OECs to see if I could find any deals for a personal project. So there’s that…

I don't begrudge anyone making a living, but I'm not here to be a free resource for anyone's commercial gain. :(

To be honest, I was hesitant to call this out but truly, I feel the same as you. When I first stumbled on the Etsy listing, I immediately recognized the photo on the item listing as a loose stones someone was looking to buy in lab grown. I honestly thought maybe someone stole their photos to use for their Etsy shop (we’ve all seen that happen where someone steals a designers photo). Then I noticed their shop had a link to IG and they stated they’re a new seller - loose stones and antique pieces. I kept an eye out because I wasn’t sure what I was seeing and then an IG post caught my eye…you posted a lovely ring a couple weeks ago in this thread that I recognized immediately. I don’t know, I can’t 100% articulate how it makes me feel but it’s not great :(2

I don’t know? Maybe I’m overthinking this? Am I the problem? Maybe lol! It didn’t sit right with me, though.

I agree, if someone is coming to this community and just using it a a free resource for low cost pieces without contributing, that stinks. In total transparency, I do have an IG jewelry account (mostly sharing pieces i love and my pc) and on occasional I do sell my PC to fund investing in more expensive pieces. A fellow PS found me on IG and recently bought a ring i never wear anymore, and I thank her for that so I could put that money towards setting my old euro.

Folks, ALWAYS make sure to do a reverse image search when you're looking at antique jewelry.

I had this locket saved on my Ebay wishlist

And just realized I also have it on my Etsy list, and it's much cheaper there.

Why the price difference? Because the Ebay listing is a scam. Always, always, do as much research as you can before you smash that Buy button.

No, I don't think it's right, either. Like @lala646 said, thats taking the hours that some people spend learning about jewelry or searching for bargains to share with the PS Family and then they are profiting off of others expertise.... So I agree, I mean, they're allowed, but we dont have to like it... hahaha.

We ALLLLLLL buy things and then sell them , i feel like i am the queen of this... hahaha... but it's the point if you're using THIS thread to swoop in and grab a great deal JUST to buy something and flip it, thats not cool. It's also taking away from the active members of this thread who are shopping for themselves and loved ones!

Totally agree! We can't stop anyone, but it does go against the spirit of this thread for sure. It's one thing to buy personally and then sell personal items that don't work for you and it's another entirely to become an actual dealer.

I know I’m an addict because all I can think is: is it one that “got away” and this is my second chance

It’s my etsy page for anyone wondering. Fwiw, I didn’t buy anything to resell that I hadn’t already found myself, nor would I. It’s just a fun side hobby i’d been thinking about for awhile. I’m sorry if anyone is offended by it. I’ve posted things here too just for sharing sake. A lot of us with this hobby look in the same places.
