Somebody's Gotta Buy This Stone!

I usually skip right over Tanzanite, but this Multicolour one has caught my eye on more than one occasion. The cutting looks to be top notch, this thing must be a fireball.

I'm not a Tanzanite person but even so, I cannot help but appreciate the beauty Greg posted. I generally prefer medium dark but the combination of colour, size, cutting and all are fantastic.

The variation in colors in that is beautiful. Really well cut to bring them out.

For that fabulous color, that price is not bad at all. Good one, Greg!

holy cow GregS!

Beautiful tanz and yes, I usually skip them too.

Lovely tanzanite Greg posted

another descent alexandrite, but 9k/ct is too much (if not he charge you a huge premium for Brazil origin). Unless something huge happen, last month, I bought a nice 1.01ct bG6/4 to rP5/3 or P5/2 (I am not sure, because the secondary reddish hue is quite fainted) indian alex with a tiny window for 11k/ct. I bought it for one of my most generous client's anniversary.

Here's a hard to find sapphire colour...
http://www.africagems.com/emerald-purple-sapphire-g2k-4605.html

1.38ct
Ceylon
7.56 x 5.54 x 3.69
AGL no heat
$1947 (kinda expensive?)

Man, I was looking for something like this several years ago, and I couldn't find a nice purple sapphire so I opted to buy a red spinel instead. Oh well. I think the price is a little high, but it's hard to find a nice purple sapphire. I wonder if it is darker in real life.

If this is really the color and not a color shifter ( grayish blue in daylight) then the price is a bit high but a temptation - hard to find!

But 800 - 1000 pct would be enough.

Wow, I will be interested to see how fast it sells with that price tag!

It looks more washed out in the video than the pic.

I think it is a fair price for the colour and size (see video for more accurate colouration).

Video?????

Of the one I posted? I didn't find one. AfricaGems will upload one if someone shows interest though.

I agree on the tsav - and if it really sells at that price, then I'm sitting on a gold mine!!

Me tooo!

cryptonite!!! Close to finest deep green Muzo emerald.

I have a vendor - a woman with a fantastic eye - she pickes up out of hundreds of Tsavos in Mumbay in several years exactly the same color - each time only one stone - I bought two of them. I you have seen them you will never buy another tone/hue/saturation.

Unfortunately I can't show the beauty in a picture...

It reminds me a bit of Burmese peridot. It's a nice yellowish green, but not a deep slightly bluish green. It's very clean though. Tsavorite prices are going nuts lately, so they're quite pricey these days.

Really? In all my years of looking at tsavorite, and I've seen many, and some of the top colors from well known vendors, I have NEVER seen a tsavorite as nice a color as a the finest Muzo emerald. I think tsavorites are gorgeous green gems, but never wear one next to a Muzo emerald, no comparison.

You're lucky if you have tsavorite that look identical in color to the finest Muzo emerald. I would imagine a photo is impossible to capture, green is too difficult.

Come on - maybe a tiny little bit :liar: :liar:

No - honestly the color is extrafine and I have only seen one stone in this quality with 3+ ct.

But you will forget comercial quality. Some like these bright green tsavos ( The Yavorrsky Garnet Book) - but I love this special color.

Yes, green is difficult.

The color I mean is similar to fine uvarorite crystals with a size of around 0,5 to 1 mm - you know the Sarany drusy specimens.

Haha, this is why we love you Marlow! You are the most knowledgeable and so much fun wrapped up in one! :appl:
