Somebody's Gotta Buy This Stone!

So true about colours being very personal choice/taste.

I love lime green like the Tsavorite I posted, unfortunately, it is too yellow for me to wear. :((

However, if I had the pennies to spare, I would buy it so that I can ogle at it whenever I feel like a pick-me-up.

DK :))

I compare this lighter colored Tsavo with a similar sized and shaped Merelani Mint - so 2000 pct is to much.

A 2+ ct is "big" and not cheap but should be "pure" green or bluish green - a yellow hue normally decreases the prize.

Tsavorite is difficult to buy via internet. In a show you see many with a fine color next to undesirable stones with a greyish, yellow or brown hue - easy to decide - but on pictures....

This Tsavo - maybe in real a beautiful stone? Who knows?

Oh well... I have 1 project coming up (2014), 1 project planned for 2015 (with a stone I bought in 2014 and I need to set it, right
And... I am looking for something green currently. And... I have decided I 'need' a blue/green emerald or Montana sapphire. That's all!! Although I always loved purple

Not sure what you'd want in an emerald, but I just received some info about this one. ;)

Ah, that is so pretty, and I like that it's not a step cut which is so common for emerald. (not that I don't love step cuts)

Price and seller?

It's from Lee Wasson. I'd recommend contacting him ([email protected]). He's been nice to correspond with. He quoted me a price but I'd rather not say since it might be different depending upon location.

Thanks!! I am looking for a larger stone though. The person who buys this will have a beautiful stone.

hehe I kind of figured, but I thought I'd still mention it. :) You might want to contact him when you're ready. Yes, it is gorgeous. I've already spent my budget on the tourmaline (it didn't arrive today, so it better tomorrow!), otherwise I'd seriously consider this beauty.

Please somebody, grab this! Great price and looks like a fireball

Precision cut, Nigerian spess, 1.85 cts $250

(Funny how come to think of it, I've probably posted more spess on this thread than anything else, lol!)

ETA: sorry the pic quality is so degraded. The seller had tiny pics on LT and I thought I could just enlarge them :(sad

Is it just me, or is this the top-quality jade we've all been talking about?

Seller's description: It is a translucent gem with a warm green glow that is just mesmerizing. Its color is very uniform and the texture is also even and smooth. It was bought from AJS Gems and has a certificate from GIT that confirms it is natural untreated jadeite. It measures: 8.62 x 7.78 x 3.72 mm Not bad for $325.

iLander,
You are missing one zero in the price = $3250

You should remove those links; we're not allowed to link to other gemology forums on PS.

we had a discussion about that jade here:

I would call it descent quality imperial jadeite rather than top-quality. at $3250, however, it is a fair price for today's market

yes, I agree! sombody's gotta buy this stone!

Not sure if it is the lighting angle or not, however, I can see zoning in the ruby, with the LHS significantly darker than the RHS. However, I love the colour!

DK :))

So, pretty much everything I posted was wrong. :)

I missed the extra zero in the price, I put in links we're not supposed to have (I will report concern about my post), and we've already covered this particular stone.

This is what I get for posting quickly at work!

Oh, well. We can't all be at top of the class.

This is a little bit over priced for the thickness of the stone.

Shouldn't a bit of depth be good to deepen the colour?

Agree with TL. Horribly picture quality and if he's asking that price, I think a video is a must too.

Melody,
What do you mean by "overpriced for the thickness of the stone". Are you saying the dome is too low or too high?
