Both kunzite and morganite can fade.
That is indeed a pity, hence the nickname of night stones. I''ve seen gorgeous deep purple kunzites but never bought because I don''t wear any gemstones at home in the evenings.

I would like it to be just a tad lighter too. I also love the cut and size. I am afraid it would be too dark, upon receiving it.
You needn''t be. Jeff takes about the most accurate and fair pictures around.

Actually, I disagree. Having seen MonkeyPie''s ''pink'' spinel asscher in person, AND Jeff''s pics, I would say that in that case they do not mesh at all. I would say that I would describe MP''s spinel as being more of a deep raspberry instead of the bright pink Jeff''s picture would suggest.

Yes. Deep raspberry is what I wanted, but the pictures he took showed it looking far more lighter and pink. His pictures are not terribly accurate, but his cutting is superb and his pieces outshine some other cutters.

That said - if you don''t like it, send it back if it ids''t what you wanted. I think you should do that with any vendor. It doesn''t mean they are lying about their stones, just that the camera and the eye are not the same.

We can agree to disagree - fair enough. Just wanting to impart my experience.
Glad you did TL; I found it helpful.

Does this mean you'll be buying a gem soon, Skippy? Good on you!

I like the rhodolite and emailed him because I was going to buy it. He said I am second in line, so if it falls through it''s mine.

Hope you get it. I wasn''t interested in purchasing it. I am a padparadscha sapphire lover.

Hi guys!
35.gif
I''m not around much, but, with an anni., Mother''s Day, and a B-day approaching I found myself drooling at the JW email this morning and lurking on PS! I do find these gems lovely! I am finding that spinel especially gorgeous!

Dear Harriet,
With your vast knowledge of stones and your experience in choosing gorgeous ones, will you help me pick something out!? I''ll start a new thread tomorrow!

I would love to have a pad. I think finding a decent one sounds like it would be a lot of work!

Hey Miranda, long time no talk to.

Chrono is another one, who knows gemstones. I am sure you will find a lot of help here.

why does that matter? I do appreciate input from both sides; I keep my eyes open for goodies and do enjoy reading things in this area. I enjoy seeing the stones on Gemscoop too!

Linda, I agree I enjoy reading Chrono's helpful posts too; there are so many helpful people here. I love having so many wonderful areas on PS open to everyone.

Hi Miranda; I have missed you!

Gosh Skippy,
You're always cheering PSers on, so it'd be exciting if you had a pretty on the way.

Miranda darling,
I'd be thrilled to help. I'm sure the others will have a lot to say too.

That''s a pity. Did Monkeypie return it? Jeff White and Rick Martin are ethical people, but they''re not infallible. I''d show you sites with touched-up pictures, but rather not do it publicly.
I''ve seen my fair share already but thanks. And MP''s spinel is probably on her finger as we speak.

I think we should help skippy buy something too

What do you say, H??

Harriet,
Just curious. Do you have any other JW stones besides the danburite? Was your spessartite from him as well?

No, but I''ve had the pleasure of seeing Jeff''s inventory in person. In fact, we''re working on a big project right now.

Do tell us more about this project, Harriet.

Hi Fly Girl,
I will be getting a stash of white grossular garnets and Jeff will be cutting them into the various antique shapes.

Icekid,
Lol.

Harriet- I don't think I knew that white grossular garnets existed! I can't wait to see what Jeff cuts for you. Sounds very exciting, though. Will these be accompanying your new GOG OMC??
31.gif

Neither did I. I''ll keep you posted. Chrono is still trying to figure out what size I should target for the OMC. You''re a naughty one.
25.gif

Skippy,
It''s a matter of time before you get a coloured gemstone. Your days are numbered since you browse CS and Gemscoop.
11.gif

Harriet,
The calculation is complete. That baby''s going to take someone''s eye out literally and figuratively.
9.gif
. Are the Jeff white grossular garnet cuts the various famous diamond cuts from days yonder? That would be amazing!
