By the way, Ellen, I wanted to mention that I looked back at some pics of your ring, and not only the the diamond gorgeous, but I LOVE your setting. It looks like molten quicksilver - so beautiful!

Dana, I also love your Emerald Cut, and that setting too!

Thank you vgirl, I love it too.

Hi Ellen, I''m happy to post a couple more! By the way, I almost fell off my chair when I read about you choosing your grocery store because of how the lights make your ring sparkle. The Target & supermarket by me have the same effect on my ring! Sometimes I find myself staring at it while I''m choosing vegetables, & I''m sure the people around me must think I crazy ;)

Here is another fire pic:
I took my camera to the store and made a freaking *video* of my stone, onions and potatoes in the background LOL!!!

X, great pics, you have got a little fireball there!!

Could you answer me something? Had you posted these pics somewhere on the site before? and if not, how did you get them all in one post?

And thanks for posting!
ellen, it is a collage of pics that was posted as one.
hey, how''s the plating?

Ellen I posted these pics as single photos in the SMTR forum a few weeks ago, along with some pics that were not fire shots. I was told that I should add the pics to the fire thread and I am just getting around to it. To get them all in one picture I simply pulled them all into a photo editing program and combined them. Then tinkered with the picture until the file size was with in the limit.

Do you mean "you" as in anyone? lol I think there is a way to do it, but I''ve never had a reason to try.

I have this video I got off of my camera phone which isn''t the best, but somehow I managed to get BIG flares off of the stone several times including one that could practically burn your eyes through the monitor AND the grainy footage LOL I''d love to post that one.

You could try searching on here for how it''s done. If that doesn''t work, Irina could probably tell you how. I''d love to see it!

its really not very good at showing the "regular" fire and scintillation, or the pinfire at all - it is focused on the bush a few feet in front of me and the colors are horrible LOL Very primary (my phone doesn''t have good video or pictures :/) but you can definitely see a couple flares toward the end that show what big facets do :) Maybe I''ll send it to her later... right now I have to get some late lunch for us lazy bums!!

Oh my goodness! All of the fire pictures posted here are spectacular!! I am new to diamonds since I have been engaged (

...) and was unaware that diamonds could do all of these fantastic things for the camera. I am not completely sure this is fire, but here is what I found the other day at sunset...

The fiery thingy dances around on top of my diamond and appears in glints and flashes...could it be fluorescence rather than fire?

I was digging through some pics and came across fire shots that I captured when my ring was first set, before it went back to Kelege to have the stone lowered. Here''s a little fun in the sun up on the roof deck!
