Exquisite, Ellen. I love those pics. I haven''t gotten around to taking mine, but I will. I thought that after I purchase my stone, I would be done with PS for the time being, but I can''t get enough...I continue to learn more and more...I think I am getting ready for my first upgrade...

I read your post the other day about the lengths of LGF, and my stone has 80% LGF and think that maybe next time I will look for slightly shorter ones so that I can get just a little more "broad" flash. I get pin flash like CRAZY (wish someone had been in the grocery store with me today...who knew they had such great lighting...it was the most sparkly I''d yet to see), but next time I want a little bit better mix of pin and broad flash. What would be a good LGF for that perfect combination??

A lot to learn indeed, I'm still learning.

If you're wanting a nice mix with scint, I'd say try for 76-78ish, (or just tell Jon and he'll find it).

Grocery stores have some of the best lighting! Places with the fluorescent lighting and very high ceilings can really make your diamond pop. And the look will vary from place to place. I shop at 2 different stores, and while they both have basically the same lighting, my diamond looks phenominal in the store I shop at the most, and looks neat, but very different at the other one.

I recently went to a piano bar that has a black ceiling and hundreds of tiny spot lights lights (looks like stars in a night sky). I have never seen my diamond look like it did in there.

The stone went very dark, but it had all these little rainbows just shimmering all over it, unbelievable. Made me giddy, and the waitress too.

Bump! :) I got a new camera, and decided to take some pics outside today. I''ve never taken pics of my ring outside before - I''ve discovered a new appreciation for it! :)

Oh vgirl, that shot (and ring!) are gorgeous!! Thank you!

In case you hadn''t figured it out, I have a penchant for Asschers. Could I possibly get you to take and post some more, pretty pleeeeeease??

So El, let me get this straight - you chose your favorite grocery store not because of the prices or selection, but because it makes your diamond sparkle the most? Spoken like a true PSer (I admit I am guilty of staring in the grocery store too!)

Please, now would I do something that silly??

Actually, I got lucky, the better lighting has the better prices. There IS a God.

p.s. Good to see you around stranger!

Oh, I''m so glad you posted these!! Beautiful! (ring too)

I don''t ask people to post in here anymore because some haven''t after I''ve asked. I began to feel like I was putting people on the spot and I don''t want to do that. So I really am glad you put them in here.

Hi, just wanted to add some of my pics to the thread! Hope they come out well I had to drastically reduce the file size.

X, great pics, you have got a little fireball there!!

Could you answer me something? Had you posted these pics somewhere on the site before? and if not, how did you get them all in one post?

And thanks for posting!

Hi Ellen, I''m happy to post a couple more! By the way, I almost fell off my chair when I read about you choosing your grocery store because of how the lights make your ring sparkle. The Target & supermarket by me have the same effect on my ring! Sometimes I find myself staring at it while I''m choosing vegetables, & I''m sure the people around me must think I crazy ;)

Here is another fire pic:

Oops, it didn''t attach - here it is:
