Bootiful, thanks for the pics guys!

bee, you might try taking the ring off and setting it on something. Then move the camera around til you get good fire. I find that''s easier than trying to get it on my finger (and have it in focus)!

Thanks for that tip Ellen! The next time we have sun I''ll definitely try that. It took about 100 photos before I actually caught any of the fire that I was seeing.

You''re welcome bee. Something else, sometimes what I see in the viewfinder doesn''t actually look like fire. Sometimes it just looks like a bright white blob, sometimes it''s a line that appears. When the sun is so bright, it''s hard to tell, so shoot anyway, because when you blow it up, you may be surprised at what you''ve got!

elle, I never get good shots inside, except if it''s on the kichen table in front of the window. In other words, that artificial lighting doesn''t work too well. Beautiful shot!

My windows all face north so not much sun. I have to try to catch it between 4:20 and 5 PM.. hehe, I''ve been timing it. Will try outside when I get the ring.

Thank you for the compliments, Ellen. I''ve been meaning to create a thread for a while now but never actually got around to doing it...

I want to take some new pictures of my set first (of course, it''s pretty cloudy so far today in central California and it''s been beautiful the last week or so). I''ll keep working on it though and will get it started asap.
