Hi everyone,
My long ring saga is nearing it's end. My somewhat crazy ideas have finally materialized. I know they are not everyones cup of tea but I am really pleased with how my ideas meshed into a lovely result.

It is really scary to try to bring something into existence when you have never seen anything like it. Add to that that the stone I fell in love with was not really conductive to the design I wanted. I really want to thank Daniel and Caren from DanielM for holding my hand, for doing so many CADs and trying at all times to create miracles, without them it would have been a harrowing experience.

The stats:
Daniel weighed the stone and it just goes to show that with old cuts you can never know the weight just from measurements.
Centerstone is a OMC cut diamond coming in at 1.07ct and facing up quite a bit larger at 6,89x6,17mm.
I finally went with 1.1mm melee in the halo, 4 bezeled rounds in the shank at 1.5mm and 4 baguettes at 2.5x1.5mm.

Now the photos that Caren took:

Well, I went with the J-color because it gave me the value I needed to up to a 1.50ct. I was also inspired to buy this diamond because of its XXX-cut and VS1 clarity grading. The diamond is stunning in person and currently we have just sent it back to Blue-Nile to have it resized. Handshots will come in a week or two while we wait for the ring.

Please, comments/criticisms!!! Tell me what you think. Did I do good?

I just happened to find this little ring doing a random search for Van Craeynest on ebay the other day. It had just been listed and it was exactly my size! I really wanted a pretty band to wear when I don't want to wear my wedding set, and this appeared to be just what I was looking for! The pictures weren't great (and I am not photographer, either, so I wasn't complaining!), so I wasn't 100% sure of the condition and the ring was not returnable. But the price was excellent and I had to take the chance! It came today and it is beautiful!!! You can see the fine tiny milgrain in some of the close-ups!

I got an email today from Mark T. at ERD telling me my fiance's black diamond project was finally done:) It is exactly what I pictured and I am so excited to have it in my little hands on Thursday after they do the engraving tomorrow. My fiance does not wear jewelry and his only request was black diamonds so I am very excited to present my creation to him on our wedding day. Weather permitting I will take many pictures on Thursday with my replacement ring ERD did for me after my original got mangled somehow. Here are the posts regarding the black diamond project if you're interested:

First of all, let me apologize for such bad quality of the picture, but i would love your opinion on these two rings. I love both rings, but I am not so sure if the go well together. What do you think?

Chasiu » 15 Apr 2011 20:55 After over two years since the initial proposal and over a year and a half of marriage, DH and I finally purchased an engagement ring

HOWEVER, Lesley more than made up for it by presenting me with a stone of a the same color and almost same size (which I had also considered) but 1 clarity grade up. I decided to go with Elegance solitaire, which just really spoke to me. So here, I present the glamor shots of my 1.224 J VS2 in an 18k white gold Elegance setting (size 7), which I picked up earlier this morning

Carat: 1.224
Color: J
Clarity: VS2
Measurements: 6.85×6.88×4.22
Table %: 55.4
Depth %: 61.6
Crown Angle: 34.8
Pav Angle: 40.7
Lower Girdle %: 78.0

MyDiamondSparkles » 18 Apr 2011 10:07 I finally got around to taking a few photos of my ring.

It's a rose cut marquise! I wasn't even looking for a marquise but knew I wanted a rose cut. This one just happend to sing to my heart.

Okay, so here are the specs, although I still need to have this diamond graded:

3.78 rose cut marquise, although it is mounted flat side up. Which I thought was weird, but I like the ring so much I am unsure if I will remount it facet side up.
19.6 x 9.2 mm
Original platinum setting dates around 1880's to 1910's.
Color is L
Clarity is Si1

frankiextah » 20 Apr 2011 00:53 I met with Steven Kirsch about 2 weeks ago to re-set my engagement ring, and after in-depth discussions (and lots of patience from Steven's end), Steven had come up with a brilliant idea for my halo, and his first attempt, to create a knife edge 2-row pave halo setting. The result is amazing, the setting creates an illusion of a higher crown for my modern RB stone, giving the ring a beautiful profile !

https://www.pricescope.com/forum/sh...2-32ct-rb-halo-ring-tons-of-pics-t159649.html
stats :

center stone -

8.47mm x 8.49mm x 5.21mm

setting -

gallery (donut) = 5mm diameter
setting height = 7.5mm from base of donut to top of diamond
diamond count = 96 diamond melee
approx. 1.3ctw

without further ado, pics !

bluemoon2 » 17 Apr 2011 23:15 My bad - I have enjoyed both items for a while, and finally got chance to share them here with you.

I had 3 small loose diamonds which I got 4-5 years ago. I was seeking ideas how to utilize them earlier last year at this forum.
I fell in love with Fancydiamond's Pear halo pendant and 5-stone ring in trellis setting you ladies own.

I don't budget to buy another pear stone. So I had idea to use one of my small loose stone G VS2 0.65cw as a dangling inside the pear halo.
Other two loose stones: G SI2 0.48cw, G SI1 0.42, togetehr with 3 more ACA( G VS2 0.405, F VS2 0.404, F SI1 0.410) would make my 5-stone ring ( total 2.12ctw).

Both items turned out to be very beautiful -- the WF team did it again. The great customer service supported me through the whole making process.

I wear my 5-stone ring daily and enjoy it so much. The only problem it creates to me now is that it makes me feel my eRing is too small.
I need an upgrade!!!
