Boo. I had mine changed on Sunday. $100!!! My air filters were quite disgusting though, they showed them to me. But still! Highway robbery!!! Last time I got it changed at a different place it was $15. I will be returning there next time. Ha!

Can''t say I''ve ever had Korean food before. Weird! Maybe I created an association because of my evil Korean dormmate in college.

sunny if you lived near me i''d kidnap you and take you to this great korean restaurant we have downtown and i bet you''d seperate the food from the evil dormmate in a flash!

it''s named after the owner (an elderly lady who still does a lot of the cooking herself) and they have sushi too
5.gif

oh and there''s a gelato place next door to it... definitely best lunch/dessert combo i''ve had

Nope, it''s in the Central West End. I actually just found that Spaghetti Factory the other day, totally randomly! Had no idea it was there.

my favorite place to eat as a kid. st. louis is only 3.5 hours from here, and we''re cards fans so we used to vacation there fairly often. in high school we''d take field trips to the zoo and the science museum (love the radar guns over the highway) and i''ve been a couple times in college for the MVC tourney

Oh, fun! Those are all on my to-do list...we just moved here a few months ago, and the weather just wasn''t nice enough to do the zoo before. I''m definitely looking forward to the museums and all of the fun stuff in the park!

An airfilter is SUPER easy to replace. I do it myself. You just snap off the cover and pop it in. I never have oil change places do the airfilter stuff, since its so easy, and they charge you an arm and a leg.

They aren''t that expensive.. I don''t know how you got charged that much!

Son of a $#@*&!!!

The air filter for my car is about 15 bucks, and it takes 5 minutes to pop it in.

Sunnyd, you should learn how to change yours!

ahve you been to the city museum yet misskitty? i''m not sure if i have or not (i mostly remember the magic house) but it looks like a ton of fun. and you should go up in the arch
1.gif

there''s a beautiful park/rock climbing place called garden of the gods in southern IL, if you like exploring outdoors you should definitely go there sometime

Nice, thanks! I haven''t been to city museum yet, but we did the arch and Magic House (I remember LOVING that place when I was a kid!). We have a loooong to-do list for the summer...still haven''t been to Grant''s Farm yet, either.

I''m seriously about to fall asleep at work.

Today is going by soooo slooowwwww....

If it makes you feel any better, at least you didn''t get suckered into an engine flush that could actually destroy your engine.

you''re going to have a ton of fun with your to-do list. might want to start your summer early though for the out-door ones. it''s already been in the 90s here. bet july/august is going to be toasty this year
14.gif

if you ever end up going to southern IN let me know and i''ll tell ya where to go. sometime you should get to holiday world, it''s cheaper than six-flags, but it''d be about 4-5hours away from you. it is right off of 64 though

Excellent, thanks! I think we''re going to do some of the outdoor things soon. Just need to tear myself away from our pool (although today would have been good for something, because it''s hot but not sunny).

whats the worse car mistake you''ve ever done? not necessarily ruin the car, but a head slapping moment?

E''s dad put gas in the water tank on the boat once. that was pretty funny. well, to us. not to him.

i once couldnt figure out how to turn my brights off, and someone in the car was like "you''re brights are on" i responded with "oh yeah, i know, i have really bad night vision..."
LOL

I pulled out of my carport too quickly, hit the pole, and practically ripped off the whole front end of my car.

i did something similar with my old truck. put a HUGE dent in the side (all yellow, btw) from making a corner to tight and hitting the yellow guard poll. I blame my lack of depth perception.

Hey, misskitty - I think I might have mentioned to you once before, but I spent about 4 years living in STL. I ditto the City Museum and anything you can find in Forest Park. Also be sure to check out the Botanical Gardens. I can''t remember what nights, but they used to have free jazz concerts there throughout the summer. You can sit virtually anywhere in the Gardens, bring a blanket, some food, wine, and good company, and it makes for a great night out. You have beautiful sights and sounds all around you. My book club used to do that during the summers (we sort of skipped the book-reading part of the club in the summers

).

Not sure if you''ve been able to (or like to) do much dining out since you moved, but... if you are ever looking for recommendations, let me know. I rarely cooked when I lived there, so sometimes I swear I have been to just about every possible restaurant in that city.

I do have to recommend Dewey''s and the Blackthorn Pub for pizza, since "St Louis" style pizza is crap, in my opinion!!

Awesome! I''d love any reccos you have.

Totally agree with you on the St. Louis pizza. What are they THINKING with Provel?
