Hello ladies! Hope you all had a great 4th weekend. Looks like there were quite a few engagement posts here!!!
36.gif

I had a lovely time off. And this week I''m off Friday (my birthday!!!) so I''ve got another short week ahead of me. We saw Public Enemies. It was good but not as good as I thought it was going to be...

FF got a call yesterday about a job he had an interview with and you wont believe this but they told him that the hiring freeze has been put in place AGAIN on the position he had the interview for!
20.gif
That is partly ok though because he didn''t want that job. However, he is waiting to hear from the other job he had an interview with last week. He was told he would hear yesterday or today. Well he didn''t hear yesterday so I''m keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Fingers crossed with ya Dreamgirl!

Thanks Topo!

I'm becoming a great fan of spf lotion these days. However, I heard anything over spf 30 isn't any more protection than 30. Not sure if that is true or not.
33.gif

The sun is so bad. I wish there was something I could do about the sun spots on my arms that show up when I apply sunless tanner
20.gif

ya for bf, dg!!
Fingers crossed!!

Hope everyone''s afternoon is going well!

ETA: i just broke down and sent all my remaining audio for transcription. fingers crossed please that this company is what it seems to be...otherwise i''ll be a little bit screwed. if im lucky, tomorrow i''ll have about 20 pages of text that will just require light editing. otherwise...i''ll be in the exact same position i am right now, but about $200 poorer.... hating the dissertation....but only about 50 hours left before i can hit the pause button.

''geez Mom, why are you doing laundry now? we were napping!''

The babies are cute....i love kitties, and doggies, and birdies, and ummm, ALL ANIMALS....lol...
32.gif
32.gif
....sorry little panic attack! LoL....but seriously, i love all animals, thats why, i have two cats, and C has 2 dogs, which i have pics of that i need to post, and a turtle he named speedi! She is getting big, she is in a 60 gallon tank now. She is like the size of a desert plate....she started out the size of a quater! Also, one of our doggies, Keno, has a heart condition and its getting worse
39.gif
...we are actually taking him to the vet on friday because he cant run or walk for more than a few minutes and he starts coughing and trying to catch his breath. Than he gets so tired he has to go take a nap. Im so worried his little heart is gonna give out. Its bad enough he has seizures and we give him meds for that
38.gif
...now to add on heart pills
32.gif

Aww poor Keno. I''ll send dust his way. Our family dog, Cocoa, is 13 (he''s a Chihuahua) and has a heart murmur. Also a bad cough. Poor doggies....

Thanks so much, im super worried....he was my bf''s moms dog, but when she passes we had to take him. Now, im momma to him, and we are close, he usually is touching me, so seeing him cough kills me. Also, im sorry about the bites, i was bitten by something on Saturday, i dont know what it was, but it doesnt itch, it hurts a bit though. But i lived in Tucson, Az and every summer during Monsoon seaon i was covered from head to toes in bites so i can relate.

SunnyD- you babies are too cute! I love black kitties

Dreamgirl-thanks! Its sad not having any animals, they are kids when you dont have any

Aww well I hope he''s ok. Cocoa is on medication now to help with the coughs, but the murmur is only going to get worse. He''s my mom''s dog as well, and it''ll be really bad when he goes - she''s going to be pretty inconsolable. He''s such a little spoiled person

poor Keno and Cocoa...
8.gif
i''m sending them some doggie *DUST* and i hope they get better soon!

sunnyd - how adorable are they?! i love their fancy smart names too! how did you come up with them? ours are named Miss Demeanor (the one on the left in the pic) and Felony.
3.gif

Brown.Eyed.Girl - ugh, boo for mosquitoes and boo for not having any hydrocortisone! we must have some sweet blood or something because i get eaten alive if i don''t put any bug spray on. i got 6 bites over 4th of July weekend when we went and watched fireworks. i got one above each butt cheek...probably from when my shirt lifted up when i was sitting. it looks like i have eyes on my behind...
14.gif
btw, how''s your kitty search doing?

general question for you ladies: what SPF sunscreen do you use? i''m so un-evenly tanned that i use multiple levels in an attempt to even out. i generally use 30 for my face and arms since they''re exposed to the sun the most. my legs haven''t seen the sun for a LOOOONG time so i''m thinking of using a 10 so they''ll catch up to the rest of my body.

Oh no! That would suck. Hydrocortisone is fantastic though - definitely helps control the itch and inflammation (and the 800 mg ibuprofen I took right after I got bit helped too, I think - can''t believe that I even thought to take it to reduce any swelling...I was half asleep and sobbing from being bitten on the face, lol).

kitten search is so far going well! I''m just waiting impatiently for two litters to be born - I think I want to choose one from each so I can get a brown rosetted and a mink rosetted (www.bengaland.com) They''re supposed to be born in the next week, so I''m really excited!

we have Bowser (the dog) who also goes by bowz, bowowowowoser, sh*tty toy, and my fav PPPUUUPPPUYY DOGGGG

if we get a cat, his(or her) name will be sonofa, luigi, toadstool,

another dog - Koopa

can you sense the theme?

I love the name Bowser!!!

I love animal names. Love them. I have Lola and Ezra, and BF has Bodhi. Mine come from books (Lola from Lolita - she isn't small enough or young enough for Lolita, but I don't like Lo or Dolores, Ezra from Ezra Pound) and BF's list of names all came from philosophy and/or religion. (Bodhi is the Sanskrit word for "Enlightened.")

yay fuzzies!

and now i have the mario theme stuck in my head. thanks jcar

M doesn''t care for kitties that much, partially since he''s slightly allergic, and the rest is due to wanting a pet that''ll play with him and not be too aloof (he''s met some snobby kitties)

buuut i believe i have sold him on a cheetoh. big kitty that will fetch ftw!

Bengals Squirrly! Playful, active and dog-like!!

We''re calling one of the kittens Kipling (we''re going to get at least one boy). And then if we get another boy, he''ll be Dante, and if a girl, she''ll be Carolina (BF is from S. Carolina, lol). I like staying with the literary names though....too bad most of my favorite poets and authors have very unsuitable pet names (like John Spenser, or John Milton, or Terry Pratchett - BF refuses to call the second kitten Pratchett!)

20.gif

just got back from the pool! my book, iPhone and i had a good time.
2.gif
i don't know what it is about sunbathing but i don't think i'm that good at it. i guess i can never lay still enough because i'm so fidgety. i also get hot easily but that was remedied by a quick dip in the water. i did get a bit of a tan though and the weather was awesome today.

Dreamgirl - i've always wondered the same thing too! i just did a quick google search and found an interesting article: http://www.phillymag.com/health/articles/ask_a_top_doc_do_the_new_100_spf_sun_blocks_really_work/

as far as sunless tanners go, i found that the more i exfoliate, the more even it turns out for me. before i apply, i take a shower and use my spongy-loofah-poofy thing and i scrub and scrub and scrub away. then i apply using Neutrogena's mico-mist spray...i've found the lotion/gel kinds are tricky for me since i can't apply it evenly. don't get me wrong though, i still get little blotches here and there but it's hardly noticeable.

cheetohs are part bengal

and they''re big.

M and i decided on jager if the kitty''s any color but black. if i get a black cheetoh, it''s going to be panzer. of course if i get a toyger at some point, it''ll be kahn.

my papillion will be pomegranite and his shepherd will be blitzkrieg.

oh and M doesn''t know this yet, but if we get a snow-leopard cheetoh, it''ll be Hod (norse god with winter powers)

cheetohcat1.jpg

LoL....im sitting here at work, and we are talking about a funeral service that just went on....gotta love working at the funeral home, and seeing all walks of people

On a side note~~~ inneed to stick to my diet, so when i pass on, i wont have to have an oversize casket!

3.gif

yeah them being the size of a small dog really helped my case

here''s some more pics of them

i love ebony''s colors, and mocca''s coat is surreal!

however i''m a sucker for the snow-leopard ones. pretty kitty!

I do exfoliate but maybe I don''t do it good enough? The sunspots are there I suppose from the former "seasonal tanning" I used to do!
20.gif
Well, you don''t really see them until I put on the sunless tanner so I can''t win!!! lol Maybe I ought to try exfoliating better. I don''t use a loofah. I should try that. But I would still think you would see the sunspots because when the sunless tanner goes on, it just makes them darker.

*sigh* why do sunless tanners have to be tricky?! tanning in general actually...it''s like a no-win situation.
25.gif
i''d try one of those loofah things and see how it works out. oh! maybe before you apply the sunless tanner, put a dap of lotion on the spots you don''t want to darken. i think the lotion is supposed to prevent the sunless tanner from absorbing into your skin or something. i usually put a little on my feet, hands, knees and elbows. hopefully that''ll work for you!

Brown.Eyed.Girl - yay! i''m so glad you went with this breeder. i love how rosetted markings look...i can''t wait to see pics of them. when will the breeder let you take them home? at 8 weeks or 10? i think we got our kitties when they were 12 weeks so i feel i missed out a little on their early kitten-hood. oh, i''m so excited for you!!!!

Squirrly - those cheetohs are amazing...and HUGE!!!! they''re all so beautiful and Mocca''s coat is super awesome! i just love cats that look "wild"!

*side note - BF said if we ever got a dog, we should name it "Man-slaughter" to go with our theme. i was like, "WHAT?! seriously?!" hahahaha! BF said, "yeah i''m serious! i partially want a dog for protection so what better name can there be? " can you just imagine? "here are our kitties, Miss Demeanor and Felony. oh, and here''s our puppy, Man-Slaughter!"

Actually, my breeder won''t let kittens go home until they''re 12 weeks. I''m hoping for a little sooner (like 11 weeks), because they will be going to a show 30 min. from me when the kittens are about 11 weeks old (if they''re born in the next week, like they''re supposed to be) and that would be a great opportunity to meet up with them and pick up the kittens, without having to ship them. They do look grown-up (relatively!) when they''re 12 weeks though! Not so fuzzy and little...

yes, i hate it too and i''m sorry.

i''m not sure what happened but whenever a person asks for "advice", "opinions", or "help" and then they react in that way, i think it''s because they don''t like what they hear from you. either that or they''re just acting childish...i mean, don''t ask in the first place if you might not like what the other person has to say.

She is starting to see a guy, and he isnt seeing or calling her. She feels like he isnt trying, but feels like he could be "the one". I told her, dont make time for someone who doesnt make time for you. She wont listen to me, and is like well i like him, but i dont know, and im gonna be alone for ever....you know self-pitying things. Like the guy doesnt answer her call like EVER! I kn ow if it were me, and the guy i was seeing didnt call or text or let me know he was okay or whatever, i dont know if i would keep it up. Just me, and i dont know what else advice to give her
