NJ is the sweaty crotch of the US...no comment on Ohio, that place can disappear off the map for all I care.
Yeah, Ohio is pretty ugly. I''ve driven through it TONS of times.

Michigan is a really pretty state... I know sometimes people don''t know that, but northern michigan is gorgeous.

Could one of you please stop by my apartment and drop off a cup of hot coffee? I''d really appreciate it. Thanks!

off to work!

elle - those house prices remind me of SC! up here 250 might get you a really nice condo or a tinytinytiny home.

I always heard NJ was the armpit, too!

Yeah -- taxes are bad. So are monthly ''maintenance fees,'' which in some places are more than what Elle pays in rent!

Thanks for the DD clarification. It just makes me realize how long it''s been since I''ve driven a car!
In our co-op the maintenance for a 2bdrm is $1200/month - and you still have to pay your mortgage if you didn''t buy your apt cash. The townhouses in our co-op go from $1800-$2000...just for maintenance!!! We wanted to buy a 2brdm but we can''t afford that every month.

In this part of the country, even if you make a decent living you can''t afford a nice house. It''s sick! so sad.

CT can be erased from the map as well. I hate that state. What should be an hour trip down I-95 always takes three times as long.
Yea, but I95 is bad in MA and RI too! I never take it going home - always take the Merrit to 91 to 84 to the Pike.

If we do move to CT it will be Southern/Western CT. I''m not a fan of the coast - LI Sound is not the real ocean! I miss Massachusetts sooooooooooooo bad.

Someone just got murdered this morning like a mile from my work. Fantastic.

I don''t think I95 in MA and RI is bad at all, but I commute it every day, so I suppose I''m used to it... Where in MA were you?

I''m from the North Shore - Ipswich/Manchester/Gloucester

I feel like sometimes I lose touch with grownup fashion, since I am surrounded by 22-year-olds a lot of the time...

Elle, Bia -- what kind of job would be your ideal job?

I have two paths I''d consider, and i''d go down either one.

HR

or

Research/Analyst position, preferably in social policy. Still considering getting my masters is Sociology/Applied research.

Oh really? I had no idea! I live in Attleboro now but I lived in Reading a few years ago. I''m originally from NH.

I have a friend who grew up in North Attleboro! Is that north of where you live?

Yup! I''m a Ma$$hole! lol

I wish I could move back but it''s not going to happen

Attleboro and Reading are both nice. My cousin has a holistic medical practice in Reading.

I was under the impression that, while people have to pay for Masters degrees, most PhD programs are funded. But I could totally be wrong!

I think Im going to do it. Eventually anyway. I already decided I'm starting another Masters this fall. Counseling Psychology. It's where my heart is.

No idea. Haven''t looked into it seriously yet.

Not sure how I''d afford the masters to begin with though.
