Do you have any ideas about the dress you might like.

Vaguely.

I used to dream of long train, lots of fluffly lace, fitted enough to show the curves (no puffy butts) but not skin tight, long veil....
I've actually got what is almost my "dream dress" sitting in a bag at home. My grandmother bought it before she died.

But....
As has happened lots lately, as I see pictures of other peoples' weddings and look at stuff I'm beginning to change my mind. Now I'm not so sure I like the dress I've got.

What I know I do/don't like (for me -- still looks great on others):
I don't like Mermaid style (fitted and then poofed at the bottom)
I'm not too sure of sweetheart necklines (would consider but probably not for me)
I don't like sleeveless
I do like trains
I do like cathedral veils
I don't like birdcage veils
I like puffy but not too puffy
I don't like big bows
I don't like poofed out butts
I do like a bit fitted at the waistline

I've seen a bunch I'd like to try on (I especially like a few Pronovias) and I'm kind of shocked at the wide range of styles I found and liked. I figured they'd tend to be about the same style and just differ in little details....
Guess I've just got to try a bunch on and see what looks (and feels) good.

Morning ladies!

I dropped off my ring this morning to have the prongs tightened. I'm going to pick it up very soon. I'm nervous about it. *cross my finger*

Too: I haven't tried the ring on yet because I dropped off my ring early this morning. I will do that later. I'm not going to worry about the size of the ring. I'm going to wear it for awhile. By winter time, if it's still hard to get on/off, I'll have it resize when I order my wedding band. Since I have to send my e-ring to Tacori for them to make my wedding band fit perfectly together, I'll worry about it then. The size is probably fine. We'll see. I'll bring Cosmo and the wedding book with me. The returning flight will be at 10:something pm at night. I'll probably be sleeping through the plane ride.

Jessie: I only have my piano lesson and one student to teach today. I'm still doing piano lesson because I want to do one more exam to get another more advanced certificate in performance. After teaching, I'm going to buy the book.

My laptop crashed down. I keep getting a blue screen. It happened long time ago. I wanted to format it. However, it won't let me, because it says "destination partition is too small" HELP! Too, you are good at computers, rite? HELP ME!

Too - just reading about all the wedding planning you have to do makes me stressed out. I don't think I could ever plan a real wedding, I find all the work overwhelming and I know I would be sick with anxiety. It sounds like you already have a lot of good ideas, though, which is a great start. Any dress ideas? That is the one thing I love the most about weddings.

Oh - just saw you wrote about dresses. Got some pics of some you like?

Where are you having your wedding? In Washington?

Jessie - are you going to get to leave work early again if it's so slow?

Ughhh, I don't want to pack. I just tried to delay the inevitable by calling american airlines and checking on the flight I want to Tahiti. And, of course, the one day I want doesn't have availability. The days before and after do, but not the day I need. Why can't things just be easy...

Makes Sense, back in feb i went with my mom to try on dresses. She wanted to get an idea because she said she would pay for my dress. Sadly, now i dont want her to pay for anything. C doesnt even want her to come, becasue hes worried she might ruin my day.

But, I found out, I dont like sleeveless, i dont long veils( think catherdal) i like a medium legnth train. I do like mermiad style, i dont like ballroom gowns( C loves them) i do want it to be fitting so you can see curves. I agree with you though, they are so many different styles and desgins its overwhelming. I do know i want 2 dresses, a reception dress and a dinner dress since we will probably do both.

Afternoon Cali :wavey: . I can leave work early if its slow, i only have an appointment today so ill probabaly take a late lunch, come back, do so more phone calls and than leave. I also ahve an appointment tommorow too, so hopefully i pick up enough to keep my job. Come Cali- i know packing is a pain in the butt( Ive been packing for a few weeks, well looking at the boxes, long story BTW) but imagine what its gonna be like in your new home. That should get you going

Morning BG- im glad you dropped your ring off. Im sure it will be fine and no worries. Wow, your slow today like me, im thinking of making a stop by the libary and i can pick up a book or two.

BG - I hope your ring gets fixed up! I wouldn't worry too much about the size yet. I usually buy my rings a little tight at first because over time they develop a groove on the finger. One of the nicer rings I have used to fit perfectly, but now that I've been wearing it for years it's quite wiggly. Also, I'd wait until winter rolls around and your fingers shrink up, so you can get a better idea if it needs to be sized or not.

Two dresses is a great idea Jessie! It gives you so much more flexibility for the wedding dress since you don't have to worry about dancing or sitting in it... Are you going to have a formal wedding (since you mentioned ballroom gowns)?

No, no formal wedding. We actually talked about this and we want a small wedding, thats fun. Hes been married before and it was a formal wedding and thats not us. We were thinking a afternoon wedding with lunch and dancing following it.Than everyone go and rest, and than we meet back up for dinner and more dancing at a club we go to, and get a VIP area. That is uniquely us, and leave it up for people to mingle.

 Initally, i had wanted to elope, but than he shot that down quickly, espcially since we have so many options here, and he knows i would want people to come. I would have been fine for a nice quiet Southern wedding, with the two of us and a friend, and than maybe a good dinner.

yeah, im seeing those things add up over time, which is what C says all the time  ...lol...

Actually i dont, i would like some time either in fall or early spring. The weather during those two times are so nice and comfy, wereas you come in winter and its in the 30's and 20's at night, and summer you get 110. I would perfer october or early november.

How did you come up with your date?

I made a calendar from March through December 2011. I knew I wanted 2011 because I need time to plan and we have to budget for it. I marked out all of the not possible days of the week (Friday, Saturday) and turned the okay but not desirable days orange (Mon thru Thurs). After that, I found the Jewish holidays & other big holidays and marked them out. I also marked out dates that have other significant events (other family members' anniversaries, anniversary of grandma's death, etc.). Then came my school schedule (finals week is bad idea) to mark out days. The days between quarters were more interesting than during a quarter so I highlighted them.

Then it got more complicated...

I knew I wanted an outdoor ceremony (and possibly reception) so the weather matters. For the remaining desirable days (about 12 Sundays) I looked online and found (and marked calander) historical average highs/lows as well as average temp. Then I found a website that told me how many times out of the last 100 years it has rained on each of those days.

The best days turned out to be August 14, 21, and 28. The 14th is pretty close to when I finish a quarter at school so is a possibility, but I'd like a couple of weeks to finish detail stuff (and not during finals week).

The 21st has an average temp of 71/72 degrees. High & low temp are managable. Has only rained 14 (I think 14, I'd have to check for exact) times in the last 100 years. Two weeks after quarter ends to finish detail stuff. Several weeks before next quarter to allow time to rest/recover and maybe do a HM.

BG -- Are you just formatting a hard disk drive or are you doing something with multiple (spanned, mirrored, RAID)?
What are you formatting? (my mom called the other day trying to format a cd)

It sounds like you might be trying to put something too big into too small of an area. Disks get partitioned (usually the OS goes in one partition and most of your stuff into another, maybe a 3rd for system stuff) and if you try to put something into one of the partitions, it can be too much and not fit (imagine walls in your house -- you can't set your king sized bed into a little bathroom but you can fit it into the bedroom). If your disk is big enough, you might be able to re-size the partitions to make it work (depending on what is in the other partitions) (imagine getting sick of a little bathroom, tearing the wall down, and building a new wall so the bathroom is bigger -- bigger bathroom makes bedroom a bit smaller because house stayed the same size -- and the bed will fit)

Hard to say without knowing exactly what you're doing and some info about your computer.

o wow. when you put it that way, im gonna have to think about it so more

***screaming*** come on C propose already got lots to do, and little time...lol

Ill be back in a few ladies, gonna go get a bite to eat....getting hungry, appointment came, it was quick easy and painless.....

Cali -- We're getting married in Washington state. The venue we've chosen (as long as my spreadsheets agree) is Cave B Winery & Inn. It overlooks the Columbia River and is really pretty. This is also where B proposed to me. It's about a 2 hour drive for all of our guests so I'm hoping we can negotiate a really low rate so everyone can stay overnight at the inn and have a nice brunch the next day before leaving.

I'll post pics of some dresses when I get a chance later. I've got to get some stuff done at work before I head home for the day.

Too- i was thinking about how you picked your date and you looked at every possible thing, goodness, i would never think to look at how many times it rained that day :!:

Heading home. See you ladies tomorrow :wavey:

Ladies! The ring is ALL good! All tight!!! I just need to go back every 6 months to check the claws. I keep on looking at it and checking to see if it's moving... My dad laughing, shaking his head, and looking at me and said "you're so nervous...." Too! We're both worrier.

Cali: Thanks for your advance. The guy there said it's probably too hot these few days. My FI always said wait until winter. We only get a week of HOT HOT days here anyways.

Too: Well, I'm trying to format my C drive. I put the recovery disk in and it says partition too small? What do you suggest I do?

Jessie: YES!!! PROPOSE ALREADY!!! GOSH! I'm getting so pissed.

FYI, my period came today. That means I will NOT, I repeat, I WILL NOT have cramp/messy stuff during our trip. HURRAY! I never thought I would be looking forward to having my period.
