The LIW Small Talk Thread

Too - your wedding venue looks amaaaaazing. If I weren't eloping, I'd be getting married at Chateau St. Jean in Sonoma - I love wineries for a wedding. And it's even better since your FI proposed there. Awww, it sounds so great. I'm so happy for you . Oh, and I have to say it's very smart to pick your date using the weather - I did the same thing, haha. Who the heck wants to be rained on...

Jessie - your wedding idea sounds like a blast. I'm sure no one will ever forget your wedding, plus it will be so relaxed and fun you're guaranteed to have an amazing day.

BG - great news about your ring! Better safe than sorry, it's great that you can get them tightened so quickly.

I'll be at the dentist all day tomorrow, but when that's all done I get to see my ring. I'm so excited! I hope it looks like I imagined, I can be quite picky about, well, everything and I do not want to insult the artiste. Hmph.

Thanks Cali......im still thinking elopement might e easier..lol

Im so sorry about you ahving to go to the dentist, i pray it go okay for you. Also, let us know about your sparkly :D

So dinner is in the oven, just for me :(sad . Im making lemon garlic chicken, and salad and banana pudding for desert :lickout:

I got my reading materials for my trip! The book is very cute with lots of pictures. I also got Cosmo and Glamour. Well, I went to Costco, I couldn't resist not buying magazines, since they are all 25% off there.

Cali: my ring is good. I keep on touching the diamond every once in awhile to see if it's moving. I'm being paranoid. I WANNA SEE YOUR RING TOO!!! Speaking of picky, I'm very very picky too.

Jessie: I want your dinner. It sounds yummy. We're going out for Vietnamese food later. We gonna walk there, it's so close to my house. However, we have to wait for the guy to come change our water filter first. I'm SO HUNGRY!!! I WANT YOUR DINNER!!! NOW!!! :cheeky:

BG- stop worrying about your diamond, its okay. Your dinner sounds good, and its nice to have a place to walk to. I like walking after having dinner, its so nice. C and i dont have a place to walk to for dinner, we gotta drive. Ill trade you dinners

I'm very very sure that I need my e-ring to be resized. I shouldn't have listened to the guy about going 1/4 size smaller to stop the spinning. I can't get it on/off without serious force. Now, my knuckle is swollen and has a bump on the side. The bump makes it even harder to take it off. I cannot wear my e-ring anymore until the finger is healed. I'm quite upset now. Even though I wish I can have it resize, so that I can wear it without pain, I will still wait for winter. I don't want to "rush" into it. It might be the hot weather. However, I think it is best to go 1/4 size bigger. I still need to wear my wedding band with it. I have to send in my e-ring to order my wedding band anyways. We'll just have it resize then. *sigh*

Hmmm, but you are also on your AF, it might be that too. ust wait, dont rush, because you dont want to get it sized up than have to get it sized down again. ust wait a bit or possibly use some water when you take it off.

yup.. of course wait until winter time. we'll see.

Cali -- Good luck at the dentist. At least you've got a pretty ring to look forward to when you're done :)) .

Jessie -- cute stroller! Small dogs get all the cute stuff. Are you going to make an icecream cake for your b-day? I've never had one homemade before but I bet it is yummy.

BG -- Don't stress over your ring. I'm sure it'll fit better when the weather cools down and AF leaves. (Yay for no vacation period!)

So my large puppy (12 years old and about 70 pounds) decided she wasn't going to give me the ball when we were done playing. Keep in mind, she was exhausted and didn't want to chase it anymore anyway. I'd have no problem letting her carry it around as long as she wanted BUT she shreds them (which makes a mess and she eats parts of it) so she HAS to give it back...
Well, I know better than to try to take it from her if she won't drop it so I sent her inside to sit on her bed until she was ready to drop the ball. She sat on her bed holding that ball for nearly two hours (never letting it out of her mouth -- just daintily holding it) before she decided to give it to me. (I just let her sit there and when she looked like she was debating what to do, I invited her over to drop it -- so she'd walk over to me some of those times and start to set the ball down then change her mind and turn back to sit on her bed). She kept it for an hour after we put her dinner in her bowl.
Stubborn puppy

BG -- you're formatting your c drive???
Is this a new blank disk drive? I'm 99% sure that if you succeed at getting it to format it will delete everything you have in there.

Too- that is sooo cute and sweet. I odnt know how you ust let her continue to have it. I alwasy get frustrated and try to grab it and unless end up getting bite. LoL.......SO tried this with out girl dog and got a tooth through the nail.

I really want to try and make a homemade one, but with how my SO is filling up my weekend, im not sure if that gonna happen. NOW he wants to go see a show and hes gonna try to get free tickets.....im getting a little frustrated with how he is trying to make me have a good weekend when im fine with staying in bed. I know that sounds bad. :?

Thanks also on the stroller, i cant wait to get it in, ill be paying for it tonight at midnight...lol...i so cant wait until it comes, and we have it for the trip. Ill be posting pics as soon as i can when i get it too.

LOL. Your bf is so sweet.
Relax and go with the flow. Any chance you'll have time today or tommorow to make one so you can just pull it out on Saturday?

Sentra started the whole thing and I can't just let her keep it (bad for her to eat chunks of the ball -- plus with larger dogs you can't let them push the rules too far, ignoring direct commands is NOT okay) but I'm not about to take it from her. Your dogs do what I've seen other dogs do when you take stuff from them (or at least try to) but at least they are small. Sentra's teeth are rather large and could do a lot of damage (even if she didn't mean to -- we've had a couple of over-excited accidents). You can't make her do anything (a fact I had to teach and remind FI of a few times when she first came to live with us). So all that is left really is waiting her out and being more stubborn than she is. (I kept an eye on her so she didn't chew on the ball)

I remember a family bbq (father's day?) where my uncle's SO decided she could take a ball from a large dog (about Sentra's size) since it was time for people to eat.... Well.... the dog kept the ball and she wound up going in for stitches.

What does your all planned out b-day weekend look like so far?

OMG about your SO's uncle. I never try to take things fromt he doggies now after seeing what Ladee's teeth did to him. He has bigger fingers than i , and i can us timagine what it would be like for me. Also, i cant believe the uncle would do that. I think sometimes we forget animals are animals and not little people ya know. Does he have a scar?

Sounds like your puppy is just being a puppy and stubborn. I think its cute, but i guess living with that could be annoying. My Boy dog is stubborn, and when he doesnt feel well, dont touch him. Hes gonna bite you, i know well. Its funny, he will be nice one minute and than hell bite the next.

I have no idea whats planned. SO has to work, and i dont know if he took half the day off but probabaly dinner. I wont know if he wants to go to the show until the day, so its like a surpise to me. I know he met up with his friend yesturday and his friend was asking about what we are gonna do and they wanna come. Also, sunday he wants to have a bbq, in the evening and swimming. Other than that, i really dont know. I keep telling him, no, i dont wanna do this or do that, and i keep hearing" Yours gonna do it, its your birthday, and your gonna have fun, you cant hide out with the dogs"

Should be a fun weekend. You can hide with your dogs while he works.

I'm not sure if she has a scar. I think she did have one on her hand/arm. She and my uncle broke up and I haven't seen her in probably 10 years or more. It certainly made an impression on me though. I was like 5-8 years old at the time.

I'm so tired. Stupid cramps.

im so sorry Too.....i hate when that time of the month rolls by....its like it ruins a week of every month. I swear, i cant wait until im married and can start TTC and than get pregnant....9 to 12 months of no period, sounds good to me....that and the baby

Yeah. Whole week gone. Don't want to move. Sick. Grrrrr.
The DivaCup has been a help though. At least now I don't have to deal with pads/tampons every few hours.

O wow...do the diva cups work? Ive heard about them

Hey ladies!!!

Too: I already backed up my file. I just really want to format it. What do you think I should do? I am not going to wear my e-ring until the bump is gone from the side of my finger. I'm really upset that I can't wear it. When the bump is done, I'll gently get it on/off my finger, probably use water/soap. It is just very had to go pass my knuckle. Probably have to get it size up 1/4 since I'll have to wear my wedding band with it. Anyways, I'm going to start researching for my wedding so that I won't be so bothered by my ring. Sorry about your cramp.

Jessie: HURRAY!!!! Your b-day is coming up real soon. DUST THUNDER STORM coming your way. It's rainy here today.. and chilly.

How's the weather there, Too?

Took a couple of months to get used to but I'm liking it. The first couple of months I didn't have the inserting technique down quite right so I could feel the little end on the cup and it leaked a few times. Now I've gotten pretty good at it and it's really comfortable. Some people cut the little tip off for extra comfort, but I haven't tried it yet. No leaks for a few months now but I'm a worrier so I carry a back-up pad just in case.

A little gross sometimes, but not any worse than the alternatives

I'll ask FI when he gets out of his meeting. He re-formats drives pretty often and knows a lot more than I do in this area. (I know enough to be able to do it if I have to but not enough to remember the stuff without it going in front of me)

Once the bump is gone, you might try wearing it for a weekend at home (don't take it on/off) and see how it feels. If it feels okay then hold off on sizing but if it is too tight even to just wear then you might think about having it sized up 1/4 size now (well, after period and heat is less of a problem)

Weather sucks today. It was cold and starting to rain this morning. Still cloudy. I haven't been outside since this morning so I'm not sure about temperature/rain but I just feel cold. :knockout:

How's your weather?

Thanks! I really want to format it. Thanks in advance!

No matter what, I'll have to hold off on sizing until we order the wedding band anyways. We'll see.

The weather at your place sounds very very similar to here. Cold! heehee

Talk to you later :wavey:

BG -- I'll come back later today or tomorrow morning and let you know what FI suggests.

Hey Bg :wavey: ....i think thats a good idea about you thinking about other stuff until the bump is gone. Thanks for the dust....hopefully it helps and works. Blah, i hadnt thought about what the gift could be all day, and now aaarrrggghhhhhh. Its okay i just keep telling myself " its just earrings, its just earrings, its just earrings"

How is your day going bg

Too- i so wish i had your knowledge about computers, everyone thinks im really good, but its just cuz they suck at using the computer.

Too: THANK YOU!!! TTYL!

Jessie: My day not so bad, except that I'm really bothered by the bump and the fact that I can't wear it. Oh well, I'll get over it. The weather is chilly here. Rainy and chilly. I can't complain, rite, Jessie? No more cramp! I bought a wedding planner ($10, that's why I got it.) I got a pamplet from a restaurant. Playing with BB.... she's playing with her drinking water now. I really hope they're not just earrings. :naughty: How's your day? OH! My last day at the community center. HURRAY!

my day is going okay, not too much going on.Actually, i ahve a headhache from not eating. Havent had time, was running late for work, and couldnt get a bite to eat. Ill be leaving soon, so ill eat something on the way home. Actually just made a spare 100 bucks. Yay for no more community center. 10 bucks for a planner isnt bad actually. Let me look at that venue.

BG- that location is so pretty and to die- for. The prices arent bad at all, sinc eit includes chair rental and set up and tear down. GOODNESS.....so pretty!! I love it.

Meadow Pond is nice. 30ppl max. $500ish Pretty good.. however.. no tents/chairs/ and decorations. People stand?

I really like Heron Lake, but $1600-1700

I really want to have our ceremony in a rose garden. He asked me out and proposed to me in a rose garden. Would that be SO romantic if we can get wedding in a rose garden? http://www.stanleypark.org/page/rose-garden

Afternoon Ladies :wavey:!

BG - the venue you posted looks like pure bliss! The colors, the water, ahhh it's serene and perfect for a wedding!

Sorry about your ring, though... If it's really hard to get it over the knuckle, it definitely sounds like it needs to be sized, which is such a bummer. Maybe when the bump/swelling goes down it will be a little easier, or at least I hope so...

Oh, and compared to the weather here, I wish I could have cold and rainy. I always wanted to move to the Pacific Northwest since I love the weather there, but my bf can't live with all the rain. Unless I'm on vacation, I could take a rainy day everyday!

Jessie - your birthday weekend sounds like it's going to be so great. And the fact that your bf is putting a lot of effort into planning and it and keeping details from you could mean one very happy lady! :naughty:

Hey Cali!

I was just thinking about you then I saw your post. I was thinking about your ring! You are getting it today!!! how's the dental appointment?
