Moving in is going Slow/stopped. As silly as this sounds, im still kind of waiting until engagement.....i keep hoping it is comming by next month.

Im sorry you were ill, i hope you dont get that again. Did you get the flu shot?

Not silly. If I had to do it over again (and we could have each afforded it) I would have waited too.

It'll happen sooon. I'm sure he's waiting fo the perfect day.


Don't have insurance and REALLY don't like needles. Besides, it hit me before I had even thought about flu season. Might consider the shot later, but they won't give it to you if you're sick. (and my intestines say I'm still sick... )

Thanks Too, I only asked about the shot, because everyone i know who has gotten the shot, has gotten sick.

Aww sorry Too, feel better! Just wanted to add that you have every right to be frustrated, it's not very fair that the supportive family gets left out of most activities. It's kind of creepy how they isolate the employee and don't do anything for the family... I don't agree with that.

btw, I got the shot last November. I got the swine flu shot because I am a teacher. I didn't get sick until this year.

O wow, about getting the shot. I have only gotten the flu once in my life,and im asthmatic, and i have NEVER gotten the flu shot. I wont let C get the shot either, its very rare for him to get a cold, less alone the flu. He usually gets food poisioning, and i tell all the time to check the date on the food in the house, but does he listen... .....


Bg your better than me, i would have asked her, if she would like to play pig the tail on the MIL, and smiled sweetly. I would have said, it seems like it might be my new favorite game to play , but than again, if C's mom was alive i would ahve the sweetest MIL in the world

No, don't feel that way. We're coming up on our 7 year anni mark, so I was definitely the slow one in this case.

And on the bright side, you still have a wicked awesome proposal to look forward to. We're all just dealing with wedding planning annoyances.

..., its okay, i cant wait to deal with wedding planning. Its gonna be simple and non-stressful. C and i already agreed. Also, im sure thats how my SO feels about my mom. You do need to try and be nice, since you have to live with her since you are marrying your FI. Whenever she says somethign crazy just look at your FI, like" See, shes loony toons" and just smile. The more you smile, the more it usually confuses them. I know i have to do this to my own mom and SO's best mates wife....she is INSANE! ( Like, shes bi-polar, has Ashbergers( dont ask), and has a whole butt load of health issues. This weekend, when we went to watch the game, one of the ladie smade everyone necklaces out of beads with the team colours( yes theres a point to my story). C and i loved ours, and i always hug this lady and say thanks you. C's best mate and wife come waddling in, and she ( the wife) saw the beads and grabbed them, like it was gold. She wrapped them around her wrist, and started saying" Ooooo, Beads....Sparkly" . C and i didnt know what to say as she proceeded to put them in her mouth, and drool,YES DROOL! . She didnt say thank you to the lady or anything, and chewed ont he beads all during the game and played on her cell phone. To make matters worse, she said to her husband" Im a BIG baby" and he said to her" You are MY BIG BABY" .....Ummmm awkard.


Side note on proposals, im tryint to not get my hopes up, but C talked to the guy at this studio we go to all the time, and asked him about what he can do to help him get a booth for a night. He said he was gonna email him, and see what he could set up, last time we had a booth it was my birthday so, im not getting my hoeps up, but it kinda of stucked in my head.

You're completely right Jessie, I just need to start smiling and nodding more. My FMIL problem is that she is super nosey and asks pointed questions to make you feel bad about your decisions. She ALWAYS does it. She thinks the way she lives is correct and anybody else who is not like her (i.e. me and FI) is weird and must be judged. It just gets to me so that I eventually become quiet and annoyed...

Omg, your story had me cracking up. Drooling over beads and talking about being a baby?! Holy cow that is soooo weird.

What kind of studio is it that C contacted? I'm a little confused...

I just keep on hearing crazy stuff about my FMIL through my FI. He doesn't talk to his parents much. However, he talks a lot to my parents, especially to my mom. That's a good sign.

I am very nice to my FI's parents. They are always happy to see me. At least they look happy and always talk to me when I'm at their house. However, I'm scared what might happen when I'm a family member. My FI said they're just happy and nice to me because I'm NOT one of them yet. I don't know if he's just scarying me or what. I will try to avoid any conflict with my FMIL. For me, I can be really nice to you. Usually I'm pretty good at controlling my anger. HOWEVER, if you're being crazy and overboard, I might only be able to control my anger up to a certain point then I'll explode.

Jessie: I always think about you getting engaged. I think my FI does too now. When I saw your other thread " DUSTTTTT", I thought you are expecting a proposal.

I hope for your sanity that you guys don't have to spend too much time with them because based on what your FI has said, yiiiikes. He grew up with them so he obviously knows the extent of the crazy, so I really hope you don't have to deal with it on a regular basis.

Also, are you doing any wedding planning with his parents? And are they contributing at all?

So you liked the main beach, eh? Can I ask what drew you to that spot? My concern with that is that there will be people milling around and I'm sure some would stop and stare. Plus there are a lot of overwater bungalows in the background, and I thought that made the picture seem more commercial. I dunno, I overthink everything.

Don't worry. My FI wants to avoid her as much as possible. I don't think we will see her much. He said maybe once a year and that is still too much, according to him. Note to self, don't be a crazy mom, or else my kids will not wanna see me.

Nope, his parents are not contributing or planning any part of our wedding.

Hello ladies!

Been a bit, work's been busy and stressful so I've been too tired to do much more than see what's new in the whole planning process with everyone.

It's been pretty amusing listening to everyone's stories about their FI's family. Fortunately I like my BF's fam and I think my fam is pretty normal too so I don't have much to add. I used to be more nervous about people meeting my family though, since my mom is from Japan and people have a hard time understanding her, but I'd rather have those issues than having her be nuts (though she can be at times).

So Jessie, once you get engaged, who's going to be left here? It seems like all the regulars will be gone. Is it silly for me to want to be engaged by xmas because the biggest wedding show in the area is in January? I obviously want to be engaged asap, but it would make it so much more convenient if it comes before the end of the year

Guess I need to spend some time over in BWW to see all these pictures everyone is talking about! This isn't making the "waiting" part any easier!

I like the main beach because it screams BORA, BORA, also it wont look commercial, it will look like two people in love. You want to remeber where you eloped, and i think the other locations it will just look like it was so tropical place.....i also like the grove, the grove would smell wonderful and be super intimate. Do you get what im saying

Haha, I just did. I agree with most everyone though, the first 2 pics I liked the most. The ones at the resort are nice, but they look exactly like that, a resort. Being really close to the volcano seems to make a big difference too. I'm sure that whatever you choose, you can't go wrong because it looks beautiful everywhere. I don't think the pics encourage me to elope, rather just look into booking a nice vacation away right now for no reason! It's been way too long since I've gone somewhere nice.

It'll be sad if everyone here leaves too soon. At least I can watch everyone go crazy over planning and try to convince myself I won't go nuts, but totally bridezilla when the time comes.

It's funny, BF will see me typing on here sometimes but never really pays attention to what I'm doing or writing. Usually if I'm doing anything else he's totally in my face trying to see what's going on...he just went to bed a few minutes ago while I was writing the other post, not a care in the world!
