SC - I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother, I hope your family can find a way to come together during such a difficult time.
 
BG - that's great that you finally got your jewel jet. I'm so jealous, I really wish I had a better way to clean my ring, but it is what it is. Any update on when you might receive your ring?

SC - I completely missed your post about discussing your future with your bf. It's great that you were able to get on the same page and make sure that your relationship is moving in the right direction. I know of couples who had that talk and it did not go the way they wanted, and it ultimately led to the end of the relationship. So props for stepping up and taking control of your future. Now I just hope you don't have to wait toooo long for your proposal!
 
Ok, time for some fun opinions please! I want to get a box that can hold some of our wedding memorabilia along with the flowers from our engagement and a few pictures we took that day in the garden (I feel like they are too personal to put in an frame/album and I want them with the flowers).

Anyways, I've found two that I LOVE, but I can't decide between the two. Just look at the design because I am going to have the maker change the quote on the box to something else I've chosen.

Whatcha think?

I really like the 2nd one. The shape makes it look more like a keepsake box, and it seems more colorful than the other one. The only downside would be if it's deep enough, since the other one's dimensions seemed a bit bigger.
 
Thanks SC, that's the one I was leaning towards. I like that it's a different shape than a plain box and I think the domed top will offer plenty of height for my items. I think I'm going to contact the owner tomorrow, I'm really excited to get it. :appl:
 
I like the second one also.

I still dunno the status of my ring. Probably next week. I hope I get to wear my ring to our thanksgiving trip on oct 8. We are having dinner with my FI's friends next sat. I hope i get to wear my ring then. Sigh. Cali, nothing to be jealous about. I am jealous about you wearing your ering. This is getting too depressing for me.

I feel Iike 24th is my luckiest day. Our anniversary is on the 24th. We bought the diamond on the 24th. We got our tacori the first time on the 24th. Now, I got my ring back for good on the 24th. :love:

Facial was good. It was free for me and my mom. You get a facial only if you buy something from clarins. However, since we know those ppl so well, they gave us free facial. Just normal cleasing facial, but quite relaxing. The girl at clarins did my makeup for free too. She is also doing my makeup on my wedding day. She did a natural look makeup on me today while my mom was doing facial. Awesome!

Wooohooo! The ring is back! You must be so happy - how does it fit? Did you get the size right?
 
I love my ring. It fits alright going through my knuckle. I can take it on/off with just little force. I don't know if it's in my head or what. I feel like it is somewhat snug on my finger. My mom thinks it might be in my head. Well, I'm not going to worry about it. I will wear it for awhile and see. If it still doesn't feel right by the time I get my wedding band, I'll have it size up again since I have to send my Tacori ring in for them to make my wedding band. I am so annoying. At least I can take it on and off right now. :bigsmile:
 
I'm sure once you start wearing it continually, it will loosen up a bit. When I first put my ring on, I thought it was a little snug, but now I can pull it on and off with relative ease. Hopefully you won't have to size it again since I would not want to keep messing with it. But at least you get to wear it now. :)

I ordered my wedding keepsake box today. I got the rounded top box with red, green, blue and yellow heart "leaves." It will also have our names, wedding date, and a quote I picked out on it. I'm so excited to see how it turns it!
 
Thanks for your advice. I think I'm just being really nervous about it. :lol: I'm so picky. I'm sure if I have to resize it later on, Tacori will do a very good job. They did an amazing job. Everything is PERFECT this time. Even the scratches/dents are gone. They refurbished the whole ring. Of course, I don't want to mess with it. :lol:

Yup, I went with the second box. It was the one I initially liked too, but I just wanted to get a few more opinions. I will definitely post some pics when I get it, I think it's going to be amazing.

Omg, the grossest thing just happened to me. I'm all by myself tonight since FI went to a poker night (I'm being good since I went out last night w/o him), so I ran over to Whole Foods to get some cake. Well, I devoured half of it and then I was thinking, hmmm, some milk would go well with this. So I grab the milk, check the date (sept. 27th), and pour myself a nice, big glass. Well, I take one giant sip and then out it all comes. I've never had spoiled milk before and boy was it nasty. EWWWWWWWWWWWWW

And on another random note, I just had my first PS crossover. A former member here who was quite prominent is also big on another forum I'm on. She posted something I really want and I thought it was bizarre. I'm sure there's more people on here that are also on that site, but I just hadn't noticed before this time.

tpf all the way! It was the first one I was on, but I haven't been over there much in the last 6 months. Now that my ring is complete, I've been lurking over there a little bit. I need to get back into it, that's more my area anyways.,

I shouldn't have been surprised about seeing someone over there, but this person left PS quite angrily so I guess I just assume that someone then falls off the face of the earth. Obviously I was wrong, lol.
 
Yeah. I guessed it right. I am only there when I am looking for a bag or when i need to someone to authenticate a purse i want to buy on eBay. :lol: that forum helped me find cheap and authentic bags one ebay. Maybe I will meet you there. :naughty:

I am mostly on PS ever since we've been looking for a diamond. Then I came across this LIW. Heehee.
 
I'm over there, but I'm only in 2 of the subforums. I have my eyes on a new bag but I have to wait until I get "the call" so I have no idea when I'll be getting it. When it arrives, you can check it out over there. It's going to be soooo pretty. :love:

I am going shopping with my FI. The best part is I get to wear my ring. :love: I am going to sephora. I wants to try a new foundation, bare escentual. All mineral makeup, so i am looking forward to it. Do you know anything about it?
 
I'm a sephora addict, haha. I know a lot of people that use the mineral makeup, but the one time I tried it looked awful since I have slightly dry skin. However, I don't wear foundation or any makeup on my skin (just eyeliner and mascara), so I was probably doing something wrong.

I do use the bare escentuals mascara, though, and I've found that it is better than the Diorshow. It's one of my favorites at the moment.

I'm heading to the mall in a bit too since I have a NM gift card I want to use, plus I need to get away from FI. Our fantasy team is terrible today and I'm sick of him complaining. :P
 
I bought the starter kit for the bare mineral. Yeah. I am excited about it. The best mascara, I have to say it's shiseido perfect mascara. Omg. I had a facial on Friday. I can feel my skin a lot smoother. My skin tone is better. Omg. Some tiny blemish marks are fading. I am so happy I get to wear my ring. Everytime i passed by a mirror, I will take a look at it. I love seeing my ring from faraway. You are right. My ring fits perfectly. This morning when I put it on, it went in easy, but not so easy that might fall out. When I felt hot in the mall, it was just a tiny bit snug. I think this is perfect. It is all in my head. Winter is coming, so the ring will feel a bit looser but not so loose it will come out. I hope. :lol:

quick check in - haven't been on much since my gma ended up passing on Friday. Flying out tomorrow morning for the funeral.

I'm a tpf person as well, though I haven't spent much time there lately either. Sometimes I'll just check in the deals forum to see if there's anything good going on.

And yay for BG getting her ring back finally, it looks fantastic!! I use BM sometimes as well, though once I used it as my regular foundation for a long period of time, I noticed it started to get clogged in my pores and not come out! I have to swap foundations every 5-6mo or so I think, because my skin will get used to it. BM is nice because it looks really natural, but I find if I have blemishes, it doesn't provide the coverage I like, compared to my liquid foundations.

I need to pack, but I have 0 motivation. I just want to sit on the couch and watch TV. I did some walking downtown today and used it to break in a new pair of shoes. My dogs are yelping ;(

Speaking of the tpf deals forum, I got the best deal today and yesterday. So I have a second email address that I give out to stores so I don't get too much spam to my main addy. When in that deals forum, I found out there was a free $50 coupon to neiman's in my second email acct. So I ordered a $48 shirt from NM last night and got it for free. I also found out the deal was good in stores, so I went today and got this adorable black sheer turtleneck for $50 off. I also got two chunk cardigans from J.Crew (both half off), so definitely a good shopping day.

I need to start cooking some food so I can get something out of my yoga. Anyone know any good, easy dishes I could make?
 
Seattle: Sorry about your grandma again. I wanted to try BM because it's all mineral. It sounds like it's better for my skin. I am currently using Clarins' liquid foundation. I have some little pimple scars I want to cover. I am worried that BM might not have the coverage I want. However, I still want to try it anyways. We'll see. I want to have a natural look.

So.... you remember that I posted that affording a pretty wedding (even in a semi-modest budget) would be tough -- especially if we had any more appliances die......
Well....
Our range died while I was cooking dinner Friday night -- again. We already had it fixed once. And this time it died ugly -- started beeping an error code at me and locked itself so I couldn't open the door. Then I smelled electrical stuff burning. I told FI we've got a problem... get an extinguisher.... never-mind "SHUT THE POWER OFF NOW!!!". So FI ran and shut the power off at the breaker while I rounded up cats and tossed them into carriers in case we had to get out of a burning house.
Good news is the house didn't burn. Bad news is the range is dead and repairing it would be expensive so we have to replace it. Good/bad news is the new range might be a bit better but it is a free-standing (old is drop-in) so we have to do some cutting on the cabinets and maybe countertop. But it was on clearance.
Talk about mixed emotions :rolleyes:

I'm off to pick up a truck and get my range. Hopefully it isn't too heavy....
