The LIW Small Talk Thread

Hey Ladies, Thanks Too, yeah the tailbone is better still alittle sore, but better. I went to go try and find something cute to make into a halloween costume. I think im gonna go with a ringmaster, but a little more " Adult"

Hey Too- how was your day?

Bg- how did dress shopping go?

I decorated my piano studio today. I kinda want to buy some spider webs to put in my studio. I am scared it's too annoying to do.
Jessie: hope you will feel better soon. Dress shopping wasn't bad. I saw some dresses for less than $200. They are nice, but not really my style. They don't have any train. I want a train. I tried one on. I really like the top of it, but the bottom of it looks like a wedding cake. i found some really nice and cheap bridesmaid dresses at the same store. They are around $30-60 each. I am going there again with my bridesmaids tomorrow. I am still waiting for the dress that makes me skip a beat...

The woman at the first store said my ring is so sparkly and it is blinding her.

O wow, that sounds like fun. Also 30 to 60 bucks is so good for bridesmaid dresses, i cant believe they have them that cheap. Thats a steal!

Hee hee. I am excited for our girl's night out tomorrow.

How's school? I need to go buy bb more organic seeds tomorrow. She has no more food. I HAVE TO buy some tomorrow. :D

school is okay, my grades arent were i would like, but im doing some extra credit and working hard.

Yeah , go get BB some food tommorow...a girls night sounds so nice.

Working hard is good. I wish it's still last week, so that I can have a little getaway with my FI again.  oh well!

Hmm... Cali is missing again. I hope her hands are fine. Maybe she is just busy.

I am seeing THE friend who always rub stuff in my face this sat. This will be the first time I see her since I got engaged. Remember her? She said she will be my maid of honor for sure. I wonder if she will be pissed if she's not gonna be my moh or my bridesmaid. Oh well. I hang out with my other friends/bridesmaids now. They don't really like her too because of her bad temper. We are all high school friends. My FI and my friends said if I asked her to be one of my bridesmaids, she will probably throw a hissy fit on my wedding day. She can't handle stress and is always pissed. I can't make her my bridesmaid when she is always mad. She will probably disagree with all the things I want in MY wedding.

Hey Ladies! :wavey:

I didn't disappear BG, I just had volunteering all day yesterday and the tuesday. But now that that is over with, I get to play on my computer again, yay!

So I missed your dresses - sorry! There was something about the first dress that just looked off. I think it was the layers being all random that just made it look messy to me, but I'm a little bit of an order freak. I personally did not like the second one either - again the bottom just wasn't working for me. The picture of the other dress you posted definitely looked promising, but I'd want to see it on you. Are you going again today? Im going dress shopping in an hour - I'm really excited.

Too - I'm sorry about Lilly needing the inhalers, but at least you now know what's wrong with her. Hopefully that will help her breathing and she'll be a happy kitty again soon.

I took my little pup to the vet on Tuesday and thankfully the vet said it doesn't look like he broke anything in his leg. Probably just a sprain, so we just need to keep an eye on him. However, his allergies got so bad that now we have to try the series of shots to try to make him immune. I'm not too worried about the shots, but before we can do them he has to go off his steriods. He's only been off for 2 days and he's already so itchy. Poor puppy. :(

Hey Jessie, what's new with you? I love that you are already thinking about Halloween, I need to pick out a costume soon. FI doesn't want to go out but I'm going to make him, bwahahaha.

Yeah wedding dress shopping! I don't like the first two dresses I posted anymore. I have decided to go with a more fitted style. I am going to look at bridesmaid dresses with my bridesmaids tonight. Do you think I should get my dress first before looking for theirs?

Hi Cali -- How was your volunteering?

The internet is on/off right now in my office. Comcast has a "major line outage" so more than 300,000 people/businesses are out in the Seattle/Eastside (bellevue, redmond, etc) area. Been on/off (mostly off) since before 9 this morning -- 1 1/2 hours so far...

I managed to oversleep (shut my alarm off and curled up in bed for "just a couple of minutes") -- FI and I managed to both shower, dress, feed animals, take dogs to potty, give medicine to the cat, make espresso, and grab bananas for breakfast in the car in record time -- 20 minutes

But my cramps should be about done, my computer programming assignemt got pushed back by 5 days (yay for extra homework time!), and today is my Friday (just class tomorrow - no work)! So..... overall a pretty good day.

Oooh, I missed where you said you wanted a more fitted style. That's what I want too. Flaunt that body, haha.

I think the location is more important for picking bridesmaids dresses, and you already know that. But maybe wait to purchase until you've picked your dress just so you can be sure the looks complement each other. Definitely still go look tonight, though, because that could give you an idea of what style they like and if you don't find the perfect dresses there, you could browse online for similar styles.

Too - I used to love it at my previous jobs when the power or internet went out. Everyone just hangs around and hopes that eventually we'll get to go home early. Ahhh, fun times.

What kind of programming are you studying? Just basic php or something else?

Volunteering was actually pretty fun. We got so much work done and I got to meet a few nice people. One of the ladies I was working with was crazy nutso, so that just made it even more hilarious. It went by quickly, so all in all it was a good experience.

I know I should wait. However, I am really tempted by the price of those dresses, $30-60.

I really want some kinda of lace/flowly material for my wedding dress. Do you guys think it might not be so good for a garden wedding. I went to a place yesterday and the woman told me that the lace/flowly material will catch all the grass and dirt at the garden. What do you guys think? Then I was told from ANOTHER woman at a different store that the bride gets to where whatever she wants.

Too: 20min for both you and your FI to get ready. That is some kinda of record!

BG - I've moved over to the "I'm going to wear what I want" camp. Ya know, you only get one wedding so just wear what you feel most comfortable and happy in. I'm going to be on a beach and I'm probably going to wear lace. I don't care if it's weird or not, I'm going to be a beaming bride on my wedding day. :)

Ok, I'm off to try some dresses and then I have to hit up the office for a little work. Catch you gals later!

I like Cali's idea.

Volunteering is a great way to get to know some wonderful people. Glad you had a good day!

My class this quarter is using Java so I'm getting practice with Cygwin, GNU tools, and Vim as well. There will be more in later quarters but this is PLENTY for now. :errrr:

I absolutely HATE internet problems here. The guys I work for are stock brokers and they HAVE to use the internet and unless it is nice and stable their stuff doesn't work and they can't do anything. (little drops that no one else notices can be enough to cause them problems). I walked in this morning to one guy swearing and the other said "Ummm. I think the internet's not working." -- not what I needed to be greeted with. And, of course, our phones were out too so I called building management on my cell phone (while digging out Comcast's phone nuber) to find out if one of the construction guys doing work had done something AGAIN ( ). She ran down to talk to them and I called Comcast on my cell phone while the one guy kept using words that are best not repeated - and, of course, as soon as I got through to the tech line the building management called in and I lost both calls
So..... yeah...... An hour of struggling with phones and trying to figure out what was going on with two unhappy (and one VERY unhappy) guys waiting.

I'd love a job where if the internet went down people were relaxed and could just head home.... (I can dream)

Epppp  i oversleep and miss so much on the board

Cali- welcome back we were super worried about you....im glad your volunteering went well, i agree its your day, wear what you want. That goes for you too BG, its your day, and your spending a butt load of money so you wear what you want.

Too-how is lily doing? I worry about your kitty, and yay for no more cramps. Im all done after 8 days.....Ladies if your doc offers you the shot, say NO, its great when your on it, but getting off messes up your body so bad.

BG-did you get BB some food? I hope your day of dress shopping goes well today, hopefully you find good bridesmaid dresses

Yeah im already thinking of halloween, but C loves to dress up and go out. Its his favorite holiday  :nono: ...I think i am going to go with the RingMaster as my costume, i like to do somethign different each year. Im so excited about the Halloween party, we have never thrown one, and we are thinking about going to the local Spring Perserve here, they turn it into a hunted harvest, we might check it out this weekend, will be so fun.

Hi Jessie :wavey:

Lilly is feeling better. She's back up and running around. We're waiting on confirmation that it is asthma before the vet will give us inhalers. I think most of her problem is allergies that caused a sinus infection and that set off the bit of asthma. She's always sneezed at certain things so I'm pretty sure that something bugged her nose again and caused the attack. I'm working at cleaning all of the possible allergy things in the house so that hopefully she won't need an inhaler or can at least use one only once a day (or even every other day).

Cramps aren't gone yet.... that is how I overslept. (got out of bed, bad cramps, curl up in a warm spot next to FI, feel better.... wake up an hour later)

We don't do anything for Halloween (well, except for sit in the media room watching movies with all the other lights in the house turned off so people leave us alone). Your costume sounds fun though! Are you doing a Halloween costume party?

Cali: keep us updated about your shopping experience.

Jessie: I will get bb food later on. I have go out for my piano lesson at 1 anyways, I will go pick up bb's food after. I am not going to go dress shopping today. I want a little break. I will go next Thursday with my FI.

Awww Too please keep us updated. I feel bad, i have asthma so i cant imagine how a kitty feels. Makes me sad

Bg- yeah, it might be a good idea to wait a little while, youll get overwhelmed and than everything will start to look a like.

Yeah we are doing a costume party, but we are doing it on Friday night instead of Sunday. Than saturday we might go see a concert. Sunday we will pass out candy to kids and than turn off all the lights and watch scary movies, even though C laughs through them all. :nono: Makes me so angry

I'm usually fine until something too bad happens and then you can find me under the blankets with my head burried under B's arm

Are you doing dinner or just yummy treats for your party?

Just yummy treats...like ill probabally make bite size burgers, and like label them Body Bites( HeHeHe) and than we will probabaly do like mini tacos, or taco rolls, and than like a veggie tray, and some chips and dips and than ill set up a candy station, and have little goody bags so people cna pack some candy to take home. O and than a full bar, well we already ahve a full bar, but it will be open for people to make their own drinks, we will probabaly make a punch and label is Vampire Blood or soemthing. Ill also warm up some apple cider in a beverage container outside to keep the ones who are drinking warm and the kids who are coming.

Sounds fun and YUMMY.

I always think of caramel apples and popcorn balls at Halloween time. Grandma always makes popcorn balls for Halloween (food coloring added to the corn syrup at the very end can make them orange).
Apple cider.... mmmmmmmm.

Oooo, i was thinking about making carmel apples and candy apples, and name them Flesh covered apples and Bloody Apples....lol.... i always thinkg of apple cider when i think of halloween....

How many kids do you have coming?

I remember a Halloween party in school where they had different games that were sort of fun ---
One was a doughnut eating contest where they hung a doughnut from a string on the ceiling for each kid and the kid who ate the doughnut first (no hands) won a prize.

Cookie decorating with frosting, sprinkles, little candies is yummy too. (pumpkin and ghost shaped cookies are cute)

See you all Monday :wavey:

Enjoy the weekend!

Jessie: I WANT A CARAMEL APPLE!!! Please save me one! I'll fly there and pick it up. :(( *stomp stomp* now.. I really want a caramel apple. It's ALL YOUR FAULT! I got BB more food! YEAH! I showed her the bag and she is very happy.

Okay BG, ill save you an apple. Im so excited about Halloween......hmmmm, im dieting until halloween so i can pig out a bit

Bg-those look like nice dresses, i really like the first and the last one, you must try them on
