I'll just gently state that I plan on being childfree forever. Kids are most definitely not my thing. Little dogs, yes. Kids, no.

BG - I bet you weren't doing pilates long enough. It is GREAT for toning the arms and butt. Seriously, I'm doing an hour class tonight and it is really really hard. I don't see it for losing weight, more for toning up. So I think if you did cardio and pilates, you would be one sexy lady.

I'm so glad everyone agrees Macs are the devil. I hate everything Apple.

Ah, I missed Too. Maybe I'll catch her tomorrow...

Hi Cali :wavey:

Nothing wrong with being child-free.

The funny thing is that I actually always wanted kids (my dream was to be a teacher -- did that for a few years through the church) and had even started buying baby clothes & toys so that I'd be ready when the time came.
LOOOooooooooong story but I've completely changed my mind.

And if ever I get to thinking that it might be a good idea, I go over and read the Pregnant PS'ers thread in the family section. If it is a picture posting day and there are cute babies and easy labor stories I have a fool proof back up...............................................
I Google ----- "distended uterus" :knockout: :knockout:
(seems to be hereditary... and my grandmother has to deal with it)

O, wow Too, i thought you too were closer, C and i are about 23 years apart....but sometimes he talks about kids. I think if it happens than it will happen, i dont think we will be baby-making.

Hey Ladies......hows your day :wavey:

I was talking to a long-time friend of B's the other day about our animals and she said "It's practice for having kids." I said we weren't going to have any and she said "Oh.... I can't imagine B without a kid" :?: :?:
We've talked lots and gone from agreeing that we'd have one when the time is right to if an accident happens then we'll make it work (we know we'd both melt and love a baby instantly) but I'm VERY careful to prevent an accident and am looking at making it permanent in the next few(ish) years.

That is one of the problems/benefits to being involved with an older guy.... he's not pushing to have one but he isn't certain enough to just say no and make it permanent. He's still young enough that we could have one in the next couple of years and I'd be okay with it, but he's old enough that I absolutely can't just wait until after school/career or he'll be at an age where I WON'T have one. (he'll be about 60 by the time I'm done with school)

Men  .... can never make up their minds so having a discussion and actually making a permanent decision is tough.
(B has suggested baby names too, had me hang onto my children's books, commented that the great thing about not having kids is that we can travel together after we retire)

A good fresh pumpkin in cooler weather (with no candle or only short time with candle) can last for a couple of weeks or more...... if someone doesn't smash them in the middle of the street, stomp them into mush on your porch, or steal them (usually middle or high school someones...)

I don't get that. Is it really that fun to steal the pumpkins and smash them in the middle of the street? I see lots of pumpkins are put in front of cars. How fun is that? oh well. One time, I saw two high school kids walked up to my front door. I have a hidden camera in the front door. not that it's a bad neighbourhood. My dad installed it because he wants to see who's there before opening the door. anyways, I thought the kids want candies. Then, I realized they were taking my pumpkins. I opened the door, yelled and gestured them to put down the pumpkins. They were shocked, probably thinking "how did she find out?"

Too- what do you mean permanet?? How are you going to do that.

A surgery. I don't want to do it too soon and regret the decision later so we're waiting on that for now until there is absolutely no question. I'd also like to have it done after I've got insurance and a GOOD regular doctor.
It will 90% likely be me having the surgery since there are religious conflicts that would keep him from having the non-invasive laser procedure. (we'll talk more when the time comes and discuss with the rabbi too because the procedure for a man is pretty minimal -- they've got a laser thing they do now so no cutting at all and the guy can go back to work a couple of hours later --- the procedure for a woman is a full out surgery including anesthesia, cutting, stitches, recovery time, and risk of complications)

It'll probably be 5+ years before we begin seriously talking about this (B would be about 60).

Please seariously, talk about that possibilty. My sister was thinking the same thing, but her doctor URGED her to think about it some more, and she too decided it was not a good idea. Its not a surgery you can come back form, and God only know how you might feel later down the road. Is it possible to just get a IUD, those are good for 5 to7 years, and are less invasive. Im not trying to change your mind, it just seems like so Permanet.... :?

I'd only seriously start to consider it in 5+ years (I'd be 30, he'd be 59) and probably longer than that since I'd need to have a GOOD doctor that I trust, be absolutely 100% confident that neither of us would change our minds, etc. (so probably closer to 35, 65 -- and at that point you start getting into concerns about complications due to age and stuff).

This is NOT a decision to jump into or take lightly -- NOT for people who "think" or "are pretty sure" they don't want kids.

Mixed day today.

I overslept so we only had 15 minutes to get out the door for work/school. (made it in 20 minutes so I showed up a few minutes late to calculus but the instructor was late too so I was fine  )

Got my programming homework done and turned in a full day early!

Have a calculus assignment (handed out today, due tomorrow) that requires me to find derivatives using the chain rule within a chain rule within a quotient rule

That calculus assignment will have me ready for my quiz on Friday :appl:

OoooohhH!!! And...... we're going to visit my grandparents on Friday after I get out of class. (they're a bit over an hour away)

Okay, Too you must be close to my age...lol....I had a mixed day too. Just finished up my English Essay, ill double check it in a few hours, and i gotta start studying for my math exam.

I know no ladies are around, but i need to vent. My mother and i got into it, AGAIN, and she said she didnt remeber the damn fight we had in Agust in which she told she didnt want me around anymore. WTF, how can you not remeber that fight. Im so tired of fighting, i have no stregnth left anymore. I feel so worthless when it comes to my mom, that i dont feel like im good enough in my relationship, in my friendships, at school and at life. I really dont know what to do, C said it is close to me moving in, but i really dont want to move in because of her, i want to move in because we decide its time.....so, im sad, completely behind in school work, probabaly going to fail my test tommorow, and finishing off a bottle of Jack....

Days like that stink. Have you taken your test yet or is that later in the day?

Jessie: I'm so sorry. HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. Good luck on your test!!! DUSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. I really hope C will step up and propose so that you guys can move in together for such a GOOD reason.

Let's talk about something happy. Today is exactly 10 months away from my wedding. OMG! I will be trying on wedding dresses tonight. Will upload pictures when I'm home tonight.

Photographer?
Videographer?
(both of these can book pretty far in advance)

Invitations? (Save the dates?)

What are your colors?

Are you having flowers? (bouquet or decoration?)

Yes. Photographer and videographer are next on our list.

I will get the invitations in hk when I go there in march. It's a lot cheaper there. We are not doing save the date card. I have never heard of that until recently

I am going to make my own bouquet. The colour theme will be different shades of pink.

O wow BG, that is fast approaching. O goodness, have fun trying on dresses. Im so excited for you...

Thanks Ladies for letting me vent.

Hey ladies, a newbie jumping in!

Jessie do you feel any better? How was your test? It always sucks when we don't get along with a parent. I don't get along that well with my father and it hurts sometimes but you know sometimes you have to realize it's their problem not yours.

Beezygal: congrats on being so close to the wedding! Wedding planning can get so complicated but it can also be fun too!

im feeling a little better, but not much. The exam was just okay, it could have always been better but ill take it. Welcome to the STT.....jump in anytime

Ugh, I've been way too busy and it sucks. I know I haven't been as active here, but I did remember that BG was trying on dresses tonight. So BG, where are the PICS?!?!

Jessie - sorry about your mom. Don't let her issues effect you and the important choices you have to make. Hopefully you two can come to some kind of truce until you WANT to move in with C.

Tomorrow's Friday, so that means dress day. Hoot Hoot! I'll let you gals know if I find anything good. :)

I will post pictures tomorrow for sure. I know I want a fitted gown in white and lots of beading for sure. They are nice, but maybe not "the one" yet.

Afternoon Ladies...whats going on? Any new pics?? Im in class and need something to look at something.

Here's a little eye candy. I thought if I removed the brooch and tacked on sash (and added my own a little lower) this could be a viable option. However, after thinking about it, I don't like how stiff the neckline is and how the boning in the torso will probably give me the lines you currently see in the waist area.

She had already undone it all but then I figured I might as well take a pic, so I'm awkwardly holding it closed. Thoughts?

Cali: I still LOVE the other two you posted last week.

Here's mine! These are all custom make style. All $750 to make and buy, or 50% off $750 to rent.

I love the the 3rd and 4th dresses. Ladies... meet my FI in the 3rd picture.

Hi to BG's FI....lol....

Okay Bg, i really love the first dress you posted and the Fourth, dont ask me, but they look so pretty and give you a nice shape.

Cali- i like the lacey one you posted last week also, this one is nice, but i think you might need a better neckline...

Just my two cents

Thanks Jessie! I like the shape of the first one too. However, I'll probably want beading on it though. They are all very nice, but they didn't WOW me.

BG - you look great in all the dresses, but my favorites are 1 and 3. While they do all look lovely, I agree that none of them have that amazing wow factor where you would have to buy it. They're all nice, but plenty of other options out there for you to still try on. :)

I know the two dresses I posted last week were nice, especially the really expensive one, but they were both out of my price range and not real possibilities. The one I posted today is definitely doable, just needs a little work. I think the boning is a deal breaker though. I have to say, I thought this one did the most for my figure but still a few too may issues. Oh and Jessie, I am definitely going to make any dress I get into a sweetheart neckline so that's nbd.
