Congrats Jessie! What an amazing christmas!!!

We have picked up the ring and I can't stop looking at it but SO won't let me so I do it in secret cause I know where it's hidden due to the fact I hid it hahah!

Ohhh I wish it was time but I don't think it will be for ages Would be perfect timing as we are going away for NY with my family....

Yes definitely on the chat front.

I am having serious LIW-itis today. I really want him to do it over new year but I have a very strong feeling it won't happen until I get full time work (just finished my degree). So I had better hurry up. At least I can look at it.

I have taken about 40 photos literally.....obsessed ekkk

Thank you Too, im the last of our little group to get my sparkly, but it will be a long engagement. O well, and your right, its hard to drive and do things now that it is on my finger. I noticed, i stare at it all the time, lol...how long did it take you to get use to wearing your ring, and not staring at it all the time.

Im so sorry you are sick, lots of fluids and rest...thats what im doing.

I just took another pill -- been 4 1/2 hours (almost as close as I can squeeze them).

Discomfort verging on pain. The pill should kick in and take me back to just uncomfortable. The sneezing isn't helping

I know i wont have to search for awhile, but i like to look around and be prepared and save up money so im not " in debt" to my mom, espisecally since C does not like my mom, which is no worrying me.

Getting a head start on planning/budgeting/saving is a GREAT idea. I've been impressed with how expensive stuff can be -- even the DIY supplies (which sometimes cost more than finding a clearance sale and just buying new!).

No real plans for NYE. We don't usually do much. Just watch the fireworks on tv (HD projector on 110" screen so it isn't as sad as that sounds) snuggled under a warm blanket with champagne. This year I'll probably be doing some computer programming practice exercises earlier in the day so I'm ready for the quarter to start next week.

Too- I know, i love the little Smileys over in hangout. Its actually pretty easy to post them. That sounds nice about your NYE....I kinda of what to do that, but C has other Plans. We are going out with friends, to see a local band( No cover, compared to some places charging $100 per person)and than we will go to a dance club after the Ball drops.lol....it should be fun, and we are trying to get a big group of us together. I agree about the getting a budget in my head. In Feb i went looking at dresses, and i saw, what i could be paying for when it comes to the dress, and i have to make sure we start saving up now, because A- i dont want to ask my mom, B-C doesnt want my mom to help, he doesnt like her very much. AND i KNOW about the DIY stuff, it is just as pricey....I read a book on Etiquette and didnt know there were so many rules!

Yeah... It's been a bit slower lately. I think some of that has to do with the way life is right now. The 2010 summer/fall brides are all done and the 2011 are getting going. For me, finances are tough so anything other than looking at pictures and getting general ideas just isn't possible for now so I don't have too much to add. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I've also seen some discussions about how people don't like to post problems all the time so I suspect that people are posting fewer of the wedding dramas than had been before.
I hope it picks up a bit. (I think it will as we get past the holidays and the summer 2011 brides really get busy with planning)


Strange isn't it! You wait for months/years and then it happens and it just.... I don't know... feels strange. Sort of like moving to a new home -- you really like it, you're happy to be where you are, but part of you misses the comfort of the old.

But whats the point of a forum if you cant post your issues every now and than? Hmmm, maybe its the money issue too. Im sorry all you can do is look at pictures, im in the same boat. LoL...Hopefully i can do some work for my sister( normally i wouldnt ask), she takes pictures of foreclosures, and its 2 bucks a picture, if i could do like 50 to 75 a week, i could save pretty quickly.

Looking at pictures and not being able to do anything yet is depressing some days but other days I look at the pictures and think it wouldn't be so bad to wait for an extra couple of years when I'll be making a lot more than I am now and we can afford to do it big and fluffy. (of course my idea of big & fluffy is still vastly less than FI was afraid it would cost but since I've never really had much money (and come from a family without much money) it still seems huge to me). Then I get back to depressed because I don't want to wait that long and what if ____???? (grandparents are getting older and having health issues; one of us could be hurt/killed; the bc that is 99.99% effective could fail; .........)


The funny thing is that I've seen threads with newly-weds talking about how they MISS the planning -- happy to be married but the planning & getting ready was such a big part of their lives for so many months that now they feel....

Awwww...Too, dont be so depressed about it. Maybe waiting is best, that way you can do it how you want, AND, the good thing about looking at pictures now means that when the time comes for you plan, you will already have a pretty good idea on what you want, probabaly the best price, and it should be a little less stressful on you. I know you dont want ot wait years, with grandparents getting older, and i know that feeling. Thats how i feel about my only living grandma. Have you come to maybe a middle of the road idea for the wedding, that is very possible to do with your means now?

Hmmm, it seems like we as people will never be fully happy...lol.......we want to get engaged, and cant wait, and than get engaged and miss the waiting. We plan a wedding, cant wait for it to come, hate the planning part of it, get married and than miss the planning part. LoL...it looks like a pattern to me

I've got a conference call with a person Monday afternoon that should be a huge help. If it goes well, he'll agree I'm correct and then call to sort out the records and we would actually stand a reasonable chance at having a decent (moderate) budget for a 2011 wedding.
If it doesn't go well, he'll explain how I'm misunderstanding the records and send us a bill for his time.

I'm excited/nervous for Monday so I can call him and get this all sorted out one way or the other!

Okay Totally off topic, but for christmas, i got a lot of baking stuff, and one of them, was a mini cupcake maker- think bite size- well i decided to wash it and wipe it out today, and while it is a lot of work, they are so cute. Ill post some pictures of them when im done. It takes about 5 minutes for them to make, and than i made Gum Paste Daisies last night( Another gift), Im gonna put the daisys on the cupcakes...LoL.....I think the diasies might be bigger than the cupcake though.

A date for the wedding?
He pretty much went with what I picked because he liked my logic. (took into account holidays, school schedule, busy work times, public school stuff (for guests with kids and my family who works at schools), # of days it rained in last 100 years, average temp over last 100 years, average high temp, average low temp, sunset time)

I'll have to do it all over again when we find out about the stuff Monday and a couple of other things (which we should also hopefully know in a few days/weeks).


I've been wondering about them too.
BG is probably busy with wedding stuff.
Cali was busy getting settled in after the move and running their business. I hope she's doing well.
