Thanks Too- i know im going to make the change with him, and i am more than willing too. Also, with him, he cant stick to just one, he has to have more than 1, that 1 will turn into 2, and than 3, and than 4....also, the Nurse, not even the doc, but nurse said 1/2 a week. I guess i take the tough love road because i know that is what works with him, but i will try your way first. Thank you. So much.

Good luck. I know it is hard.

Be careful not to give too much of an ultimatum though -- if you say he has to stop or you'll leave, he could (intentionally or not) push the limits further and further and leave you making the hard choice of leaving him for good -- people who drink don't stop just because you're gone and they miss you (trust me ;( )

Millie likes to chew on wood.

I've got to find something she likes as well so she doesn't chew through the fence :nono:

Yeah... It sucks. Watching people do that is Sooooo hard.
I'm glad my mom & her husband were able to stop and have kept with it this long. It took health problems and money issues to finally convince them to stop -- unfortunately this was after my mom missed much of my life. She doesn't know if I went to pre-school or not. My grandma taught me about shaving and proper bathing. I learned about female stuff on my own. And the list goes on.

I sometimes think that drinking is harder on friends/family than it is on the person doing the drinking.

Be patient. Talk with him.
Oh... and have plenty of non-alcohol things around for him to drink too.

She chews a beef stick thing and likes that well enough, but looses interest. One challenge is that we can't have her chew anything that could hurt Sentra if she got hold of it (and she does!). That really limits the options available -- fully digestable, not something that can break into chunks, not too hard, not too soft

I'll have to look for the busybone -- they're always up to chew something new

Back when my dog had a full set of teeth, he used to enjoy what's known as "pizzle sticks or bully sticks". He's not much of a chewer so he doesn't bother with them anymore but they're nice because they do tend to last a decent amount of time. They're natural and safe for dogs, even if they're not made from the most exciting of animal parts (you can look it up on your own :) )

I agree with not doing an ultimatum yet either. I'm sure this is a lot of info for him to take in at once and he needs to accept it all which will probably take some time. I had a father that quit smoking a little over a year ago after 50yrs and several attempts. Suddenly one day he just stopped completely cold. I'm not sure why, other than the fact that I think he finally wanted to just do it for himself. I think that's where C needs to be though, in a place where he decides it's best for him as well as everyone else around him. Just be happy that you have some answers to your problems at this moment!

Thanks Too, i will get plenty of non-alcohol things for him to drink. He always says that he wants to go out to a nightclub, because its something different, than his daily day in and day out routine, and boring life. I understand that, but the nightclub is always a temptation when it comes to drinks. I think once a month, or every other month is okay. But not weekly like we have been doing, hell i dont even like to do it weekly, i just go so i can try and stop him from drinking too much, and im 23, less alone 46.

That is what I've been getting for them! Sentra isn't able to break off any chunks but it's not so hard that it leaves her bleeding (and me worried about her injuring her teeth!). Millie likes them too but loses interest quickly... well... until Sentra decides that if Millie doesn't want it then it must be okay to take
I've actually not been buying them for a few weeks now because Sentra was liking them a little too much and would chew until she bled, got REALLY possessive (like trying to bite a cat who walked through the room she had it sitting in), and decided that she HAD to finish hers before Millie and chewed through a 26" pizzle in one night :knockout:

What d'ya mean not the most interesting part? :cheeky:
At least they don't LOOK like what they are! (current treats are cow ears and tracheas :knockout: )... well... except when you start buying the 24-28" pizzles... then... well....

How about a new hobby or lessons/classes together? The school I'm at has all sorts of non-credit classes that are inexpensive and look interesting (woodworking, welding, ballroom dance, painting, etc, etc, etc).

FI wasn't excited about dance classes, but once we went he had a lot of fun. (we did a wedding dance class from a great teacher who has couples stay together for the classes so they can be comfortable dancing at their wedding)

Target shooting is fun. I like it because I like to see how I improve with practice. FI likes it because he thinks all day and it lets him do something that is mostly just his muscles learning to do something precise/fast (depending on the day). You don't have to buy a gun to do this, you can rent them for about $10 to use while you're at the range.

FI has also discovered an interest in woodworking. The tools don't have to be expensive (and only have to be bought once!) and he's got the choice of doing artsy stuff or practical stuff. (FI made speakers for our media room and plans to build: more speakers, dining table, spice rack, bookcases, riser for media room, kitchen cabinets)

OOooo!!! -- also look at places like Whole Foods and REI. They sometimes do events and classes that are fun. We do a chocolate tasting at Whole Foods a couple of times a year and they've also got great dinner demos. REI does safety classes and stuff like hikes/bike-rides. This stuff is sometimes free and is at least not too expensive.

Like, on Sunday the 13th, we are throwing a birthday party for our furbabies. We are going to get white cake and frosty paws( doggy ice cream), and some hot dogs, and invite a few of our friends over, along with their dogs, and have a party for our babies, along with goody bags for the parents of the other dogs to take home. Im so excited...ya know, we probably should have a kid,

Na! Dogs are WAYYyyyy better than kids!

Make sure to have a great punch mixed up to drink. You might be able to freeze juice into icecubes to chill the punch -- maybe in the shape of dog bones?

Tomorrow morning SO and I are leaving on our cruise :appl:

I'm really not expecting a proposal as I'm 100% sure he hasn't even purchased a ring yet. But a nice walk on the beach and some romantic words would be good enough. It will be my first time visiting Mexico and I'm so excited to see the ruins and do some shopping. Have a good week ladies.

Have fun on your trip!

Ok Ladies! Here's the dress I bought last Friday... In order for the topto fit right, I had to get a larger size that has to be altered in the shoulders and waist... It's made from the "goddess flowing" material as the lady called it. It's gorgeous!!! I liked it so much better than the silk and poofy fluffy stuff... That felt very awkard to me to say in the least. This is amazing! I'm soooooooooooooo excited!!! It has pearls on the front and the beading... I can't wait to wear it!
I have a friend thats getting married in September and we are going to the Okc Bridal show... I've never been to one and I'm completely excited about it!!! I look forward to all the ideas I can get from there. I even started a "planning folder notebook with seperated tabs w/ pockets" LMAO I have a calendar in it and pink paper... omg everything! Even names the tabs already! lol He bettern get on the ball with all this planning and everything going on. I know, know, be patient... I can't be patient any longer. I'm waaayyyy too excited for that!
I hope everyone is doing better... I know this time of year can suck bad! But, we have each other for support, comfort, and strength! :twirl: xoxoxoxo

Have an amazing time on your trip hun!!!!!!! I know you will have a blast! You guys stay safe and enjoy each other 8-)

We are taking a small break at work imeeting I'm taking minutes for. The room we are in is one I call the "Jewelry Room". The lights are old school incandescent can lights and there are a million of them. It makes everyones jewelry SO gorgeous and sparkly, including mine. It's very distracting!

I'm going to have to sneak in after work and use this room as a jewelry photo studio :)

That is all.

Hello ladies! We got back from our cruise today. We had fun, no proposal but I did try on some more rings in the on ship jewelry store and a few stores in St. Thomas. K is saying he may have to take a cruise to buy my e-ring since he doesn't want me to know when he buys it. So even though there were some good prices and he has the money, he wouldn't buy it. He almost bought one with a blue diamond center stone in Puerto Rico but he felt like it was impulsive and I also talked him out of since I didn't love that ring.

DestinedPalmer: that dress looks beautiful. I have one that's similar I think.

Jessie: Sorry C is going through so much healthwise. Hopefully this will be the wake up call he needs to take better care of his health.

OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We just got good news!!!!

I've got to call our attorney tomorrow to make sure we are protected in case this person changes their mind, but we have written notification and our original contract is pretty clear so I think we're good!

This is something we didn't expect to happen for another 3 1/2 years so having it happen now is unexpected and great.

That stinks!

Don't they have some sort of "I'm in school" box to select so you don't have to show up? I mean, for most people missing a week of work is something that employers understand (for jury duty) and can shuffle stuff to make it work out okay. But school?!??!! -- I can't imagine missing a week of school! (as in, I'd be so behind I'd have a tough time catching up!!)

Good luck!

Too close now to have it this summer, but I'm hoping summer 2012 will work out now.

This one thing alone won't make a huge differenc in our bills, but it'll save some money. (a little each month but adds up to a pretty substantial (for us) amount over the next 3 years)

On the bright side..... Having this extra planning time means I've got lots of time for all of the little detail stuff I might have forgotten about!
I just remembered I have a pearl neclace my grandmother gave to me -- the clasp broke some years ago so I haven't worn it in awhile, but it is beautiful and I'd like to wear it for the wedding.

Yeah, im having a hard time, and i am trying to keep up, while on break. I wish they had a box like that, but they dont.

Sadly, i just got a job, but im not 100% sure about working with this lady, she forgets things, and wants me to work on ym one day off with C, and i dont know about that. She had an attitude with me when i told her sunday is my day with ym family, but ive always told them that. Also, she was angry i coudlnt make training this week, because i have jury duty, like i signed up for it.

Hmmmm....

A job for a strange, demanding woman or no job at all?
Ick.
Tough choice.

Can you give it a try for awhile and see how it goes? She might soften as she gets to know you.

;( :angryfire: ;( :angryfire: :nono: :nono: ;( ;( (need a stubborn, determined emotie here.)

The good news has now turned to mixed with the potential for bad. Gah!!!!!

I really need to talk about this but have no one to turn to :nono: (and is way too.... personal.... to post here ;( )

I REALLY REALLY dislike this person. They are taking advantage of an awful system and a contract that had some unexpected loopholes  .
Well.... I'm stubborn. It may be uncomfortable. It may be unfair. But this person will NOT win. We will continue to pay the mortgage and survive no matter how hard they try.

We'll find out if it is vaguely neutral or massively bad in the next few weeks.

o too, i am so sorry Too- i hope things work out. If you need to post it or talk, im here.

So Jury Duty looks like it will be 2 weeks, instead of the 7, and i am stressing about school. *Sigh* why didnt i lie and say i hated the cops, i wouldnt have jury duty right now.

I dont know what to do for C's birthday. I asked his friend for input, and he said make him a seafood dinner, but i dont know how to cook fish, so i think thats a bad idea, and i wanted to try a brailizian steakhouse, but his friend said dont do that, because its pricey and C would hate if i spent that money. So i dont know what to do. Any sugesstions?

VERY happy right now!

It is looking really good that FI's parents will come over for the wedding, I never even dared to really hope that they would becasue it is a very long flight for them (24 hours + stop overs) and not cheap either. Now I just have to get FI to ring his best friend in the UK and convice him to come over to be his best man and all will be perfect!

I have been putting off booking a venue just incase no one could make it over (in which case it would be all my family and friends and a couple of his friends from over here, which is really a bit one sided) and we had to do it over seas.

YUSS!

And from the good to the bad- called into work on my day off, again. wooo.
