Yeah, i tried sparkpeople, i didnt really liked it though, i felt like they limited me way too much. LoL......

Reward!!!

new sparkly!

I need to take my rings in for the 6-month inspection/cleaning anyway so while I'm there I can look around and see what they have! Can't be $$$$$, but I could do something small. Maybe simple earrings? Or a RHR? (Shhhh.... it is a mega-chain store (well, their clearance store) so quality is iffy but thanks to PS, I know what to look for and can find some pretty okay pieces there)

OOOOOOO, thats a great idea and a GREAT motivator. Okay, im offically stealing your idea, but it will be for my overall goal of 40lbs by Aug. 10....i think thats enough time.

I think you should be a RHR, that would be awesome, and its also good because it will help you stay on track for weight loss because you dont want that new Sparkly fitting too tight. So its a great way to make sure you dont gain weight

Ongoing motivation!

YES!!!! you want the new sprakly to fit. Thanks for the idea, its such a good idea, i love it. I think ill get a Fleur De Lis RHR .....it reminds me of New Orleans, which is what i love.

LOL I love the justifications you girls are coming up with!

Jessie, do you mind me asking how tall you are/what you weigh? I'm trying to lose weight, I have about 40 to go so I was thinking if we were about the same size then I could do what you're doing (technique wise) and get to my goal.

Hi Hudson.....Sometimes the creative ideas are the best.

Im a size 16 right now...and im 5'3 and at 260( Im really muscely, its kind of weird). For me, i use team beach body(its pricey, but works), and i try to eat under 1200-1000 cals. a day. Right now i have a lot of time to workout, so i try to pull an hour or 2 3 times a week to 4.

Actually i should fix something, im a 16 in jeans and dresses due to my hips and butt, but in tops i wear a size M/L...i have a small waist compared to everything else.

260? do you mean 160??

No...im built weird

My practical side is back..... I should just stick to getting my rings cleaned when I'm there. They have a nice cleaner they use and it gets them cleaner than I'm able to at home. My reward can be wearing my rings again comfortably (the one doesn't even fit right now :nono: )

However much I'd love a new sparkly (and B would support since he feels awful still about doing nothing for my b-day), I know it is a bad idea to buy on credit (especially a 24% interest store credit card  ).

wow, must be. Kudos to you on all of that muscle though! I'm 5'7"ish and 171, size 14. I was a 6 at my wedding and an 8/10 before I had my son :( I hate what motherhood has done to my body. I carry weight in areas I never have before :(

ETA: not that I blame it all on the baby weight, I know what I did to get here and what I've not done to make changes...

Thanks Hudson, part of the issue with losing weight for me, is losing muscle mass also. Its like all cardio for me, and no training. Well you can make the changes, and yes baby weight does that to you. My friend is pregnant, and she is in her 4th month, and has already gained 40lbs but she is carrying twins. You can do it, just get motivated and do it, i have days were i mess up, i just choose to not let it turn into a week. LoL....Im trying to get down to a size 12, at a 12, ill look closer to a 10. I always laugh when the doctors tell me, i should be down to 120lbs, because if i go down that small, ill wear like a size 0.

No, you should get a new sprakly, just dont get something thats too expensive, and maybe start saving some money now, and try to put half down. OR possible buy online at like a cheap site( YES, I KNOW BAD) just to reward yourself. Im thinking of going to the Jewelers C bought my ring from, and seeing what they have in stock, when i go shopping. You have to reward yourself, just dont buy something too expensive. Sometimes the small rewards are the best.

TP-try looking for something on etsy.com. I've found a lot of high quality yet inexpensive jewelry there and I like that everything is made by small, independent vendors vs big chains.

HH --- Sounds like you're pretty close to me in size but a bit taller. Aiden is so cute! (I love baby pictures so I lurk over in the mommy threads for the wonderful pictures you all post!) I can't believe he's almost a year old!

I'm 5'3" tall. Last I dared look at the scale I was 173 (I'm pretty sure there is an extra few pounds since :nono: ). Pants are size 12, but too tight

Idea for you guys, you should post before, "ideal" and after pictures for motivation!

I was thinking Etsy too, i have found some great stuff there. Good soaps too...lol

I wish i was 170, thats my overall goal weight( for the year) but my goal size for my trip is size 12.... at 170 ill be close to a size 8/6

Oooo, thanks HH,that is a good idea

Etsy is a great idea. I started exploring there the other day and there was so much great stuff!

Pictures would be fun! I dread the before, but seeing progress would be wonderful -- especially since the numbers on the scale don't always match the visible results.

I love some of the soaps on ETSY, i bought some the other day, and it smelled sooo good, and the smell lasted so long.

Breakfast was yummy today and apparently only 256 calories (yay!). The steel cut oats make good oatmeal and have lots of protein.

For the two of us I cook:

3/4 cup steel cut oats
1 1/2 cups almond milk
1 cup water
1/3 cup dried cherries

I mix it all in the crockpot at night before bed and turn it on "warm".

Hmmmm, that sounds good. For breakfast i had 2 sausage links and a waffle with low fat cream cheese. Lunch will be frozen veggies and a hot dog......no bread, with mustard. SO YUMMY.

Your lunch sounds :lickout: :lickout: --- I love a good hotdog with veggies!

I forgot to bring anything with me today and now I'm about done at work so I think I'm skipping lunch today :nono: . I'll probably actually try to find something light (veggie sticks maybe and I can make hummus?) when I pick up groceries for dinner.

Dinner is going to be a tortilla (the Spanish kind). Pretty decent size serving turns out to be about 600 calories. Leaves me just a little low on protein but if I have some veggies with hummus I'll be right in the middle of my calories, fat, protein, and carbs for the day.

tortilla:

Yukon gold potatoes
eggs
thin sliced onion
thin slice bell pepper

I slow caramalize the onions then brown the pepper before I add the potatoes to the pan. When the potatoes are mostly cooked, I dump them in a big bowl with the beaten eggs so they can all kind of soak in eggs and hold together. Last time I cooked it in the oven instead of stovetop and it worked a lot better -- also allowed the addition of super melty cheddar cheese on top :lickout:
With the last of my fresh salsa :lickout:

Okay, Lunch turned out to be Low Fat, Low Cal Lasgna my mom made. Its such a small serving size, but so yummy. Dinner will be the hot dog and Veggies. LoL....that sounds good, i dont like eggs, but i could make that for C with some chicken, thanks for the idea. Also, i tried Hummus but didnt really like it, maybe it was the one i had, so let me ask you, what is hummus suppose to taste like??

Yummy!

hummus is..... just good.
I do NOT like the stuff you buy at stores at all. Different people make it different too. The chickpeas used make a difference also -- dried (soaked) and canned act differently and different brands of the canned are different (more/less cooked, firmer/softer, salt content, etc).

The basic is a bit of garlic, a little salt, chickpeas, and tahini. We make ours with a splash of lemon juice.

Hummus can also be made with lentils for a little different flavor.

I've also made a kalmata olive hummus (super yummy) and a roasted red pepper hummus (B loved this one but I'm not a huge fan of bell peppers).

It is easy to make not-so-good hummus, but with just a little practice (and a decent recipe to start from!) it is super easy and tastes great.

I'll see if I can find the recipes I sent my mom -- she went from not liking hummus to making it regularly.

Okay....

All of my work systems are down. I'm headed home to much something healthy for lunch and then 30DS.

See you tomorrow :wavey:

Jessie, which Team Beachbody workout(s) are you doing? I'm not going to lie, I'm a little scared about how little you're eating given the intensity of those workouts. That's a very low calorie count for somebody that *isn't* working out, but if you're doing something like P90X, Insanity, etc., you need to be eating way more to keep your body healthy. Remember, it's not just about weight loss, it's about sustainable lifestyle change and becoming a healthier person overall. (For instance, I'm 5'10", 160 and to be active 6 times a week at that level, the program wants me to eat around 2,000 calories a day to lose weight at a healthy pace.)

I'm not trying to be preachy or lecture-y, I'm just really scared by what I'm reading. Please please please be healthy!

Thanks Princess, i will be healthy, and i know when to stop pushing my body. I dont know which Beach body, its not the P90X or Insanity, its the newer one, more dance. I really like it.

Okay....
What I have learned this week:

My body can't gracefully handle 3 heads of garlic (per night) + pile of cabbage + beans + chipotle, ancho, jalepeno --- each night for two nights in a row...... especially if it is right after a few days of lots of garlic & peppers :knockout:

I spent most of yesterday either headed for a bathroom or trying to not move much to avoid having to head to a bathroom

Starting weight: 178.8 pounds

That sounds like a lot of stuff that would upset anyone. I can only do about 3 cloves( the little things inside) and that my limit before getting sick.
