new sparkly!
I need to take my rings in for the 6-month inspection/cleaning anyway so while I'm there I can look around and see what they have! Can't be $$$$$, but I could do something small. Maybe simple earrings? Or a RHR? (Shhhh.... it is a mega-chain store (well, their clearance store) so quality is iffy but thanks to PS, I know what to look for and can find some pretty okay pieces there)

OOOOOOO, thats a great idea and a GREAT motivator. Okay, im offically stealing your idea, but it will be for my overall goal of 40lbs by Aug. 10....i think thats enough time.
I think you should be a RHR, that would be awesome, and its also good because it will help you stay on track for weight loss because you dont want that new Sparkly fitting too tight. So its a great way to make sure you dont gain weight

ETA: not that I blame it all on the baby weight, I know what I did to get here and what I've not done to make changes...

They have a nice cleaner they use and it gets them cleaner than I'm able to at home. My reward can be wearing my rings again comfortably (the one doesn't even fit right now )
However much I'd love a new sparkly (and B would support since he feels awful still about doing nothing for my b-day), I know it is a bad idea to buy on credit (especially a 24% interest store credit card ).

Yummy!
hummus is..... just good.
I do NOT like the stuff you buy at stores at all. Different people make it different too. The chickpeas used make a difference also -- dried (soaked) and canned act differently and different brands of the canned are different (more/less cooked, firmer/softer, salt content, etc).
The basic is a bit of garlic, a little salt, chickpeas, and tahini. We make ours with a splash of lemon juice.
Hummus can also be made with lentils for a little different flavor.
I've also made a kalmata olive hummus (super yummy) and a roasted red pepper hummus (B loved this one but I'm not a huge fan of bell peppers).
It is easy to make not-so-good hummus, but with just a little practice (and a decent recipe to start from!) it is super easy and tastes great.
I'll see if I can find the recipes I sent my mom -- she went from not liking hummus to making it regularly.

Im a size 16 right now...and im 5'3 and at 260( Im really muscely, its kind of weird). For me, i use team beach body(its pricey, but works), and i try to eat under 1200-1000 cals. a day. Right now i have a lot of time to workout, so i try to pull an hour or 2 3 times a week to 4.
Actually i should fix something, im a 16 in jeans and dresses due to my hips and butt, but in tops i wear a size M/L...i have a small waist compared to everything else.

Jessie, which Team Beachbody workout(s) are you doing? I'm not going to lie, I'm a little scared about how little you're eating given the intensity of those workouts. That's a very low calorie count for somebody that *isn't* working out, but if you're doing something like P90X, Insanity, etc., you need to be eating way more to keep your body healthy. Remember, it's not just about weight loss, it's about sustainable lifestyle change and becoming a healthier person overall. (For instance, I'm 5'10", 160 and to be active 6 times a week at that level, the program wants me to eat around 2,000 calories a day to lose weight at a healthy pace.)
I'm not trying to be preachy or lecture-y, I'm just really scared by what I'm reading. Please please please be healthy!

What I have learned this week:
My body can't gracefully handle 3 heads of garlic (per night) + pile of cabbage + beans + chipotle, ancho, jalepeno --- each night for two nights in a row...... especially if it is right after a few days of lots of garlic & peppers
I spent most of yesterday either headed for a bathroom or trying to not move much to avoid having to head to a bathroom
Starting weight: 178.8 pounds
