The Official TTC Thread!

icekid, sounds lovely! I used to read quite a bit of CS back in the day, Tsavs are lovely for sure!! Don''t they have really high color dispersing (forget the term) properties? And a Leon...yummm! Pave? Can''t wait to see. Where did you find your tsav? (Is non-TTC talk allowed? heehee)

I ordered some books from the library, including TCOYF, something about nutrition and TTC, and What to Expect Before Youre Expecting.

Thanks, Bliss, for the idea of FF...I am scared I will get roped into temping if I poke around there too much.

So we started the actual "trying" last night (HIGHLY unlikely I realize, esp since I still have meds in my system until today at some point) but I REALLY can''t get Phoebe''s fetus song out of my head.

"are you in there little fetus, in 9 months will you come meet us, I will buy you some Adidas"

or DHs version:
"are you in there little fetus, come out, get a job and feed us"

LOL this is going to drive me nuts, I need a new song!

Kunzite, good luck!!! When will you test? I feel like you do re:jinxing. Plus I feel like it''s really private and I don''t really want other ppls opinions, haha. Other than you guys, of course!

brightlight, are you going to POAS soon? Sorry if you have already mentioned.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Miscka! You''re TTC???

So I got an “almost” positive OPK this morning - I know that it doesn’t technically count until the line is as dark or darker than the control, but it was a definite line, almost as dark as the control, compared to the negligible ones I’ve had since CD9 (today is CD13). If I have fade-in, maybe it’s coming? So I brought my little canister to work just in case.
1.gif
My instructions say to use morning urine, even though other stuff I read says the LH surge happens in the afternoon. But the conundrum is that concentrated urine is better, but I don’t want to get dehydrated because it’s bad for CM…

Miss Bliss, I’m excited for you this cycle!

icekid, it sounds beautiful. It would be a dream to have a Leon ring.

brightlight - sorry your cycle has been frustrating.

noelwr - looks like you had excellent BD timing! great job! so begins the 2WW. hopefully i''ll be waiting along with you.

Hey Ladies,

Looks like things are hopping in here!

Lanie: That is so exciting about your little folicle! Yeah for your body doing what you want it to do and YIPEE for Femara! I am hoping you get a positive OPK on Wednesday and that you can get done to some productive BD''ing...hehehe. Good luck
2.gif

I hear you on the dildo cam shaking things up. I thought I might have felt my O this month, but it was kinda subtle and somewhat fleeting, so I am not sure. As PP''s have said, we get so attentive to our bodies that we are not sure what is normal and what is O''ing, etc.
As for the phenomenom, thanks for info. It kinda scared me too when I saw it b/c I have never dealt with it before. I should prolly call my doc, but since you have dealt with this before, I do have a question for you. Since the lining is coming out so easily, should there be any concern about it being a loss hospitable place for a LO?

Noel: Thanks for the chart, it was pretty interesting stats. Maybe you can find the one about O-day vs KU b/c that would be pretty interesting too. Congrats on the 2WW and I am thinking happy thoughts for you!

LV: Sorry about the waiting, I know its no fun. But, just think, if you are KU, then its worth waiting for, right
1.gif
. I also really hope that your HCG is high enough that they give you the good news early. If not though, just keep those happy thoughts and get yourself busy again this weekend. Fingers crossed for you...

Brightlight: Thanks for checking in. I hope that you can get in to see your Dr. soon. Boo on the indecisive cycle. And AF, what a PITA
11.gif

Charbie: I hear you on the getting in better shape. I am working on that too
1.gif
. I don''t think I will be a jerkstore quite yet, I too am having the moodiness and cramping.

Icekid: Yeah for getting a Dr. appt. I bet you are soooo excited
36.gif
. And no worries about the fibbing, I would do the same thing too, if I meant I could get confirmation a bit earlier. And oooohhhh for pretty baby jewelry.
30.gif

Catluver: What day do you normally O on? Also, I tend to go more by temperature and OPK''s b/c my CF is all over the place. I hope that you get your positve OPK soon so you get confirmation!

Bliss: I hope that you O''ed too! I am sure that with all the fun you had on vaca, that if you O''ed on the plane (or even just after), you''ve got a good shot at a BFP in a couple weeks! Just hang in there and try not to stress to much about it. C''est la vie...
As for those cookies, there is no denying warm cookies. Those are my total WEAKNESS. If you want anything out of me, just feed my hot cookies!
3.gif

IHA: Welcome back! I am glad to see you back in these parts
35.gif
. I feel you on the wacky CM, mine is not the "model" Cm either. As for not getting pure white EWCM, I wouldn''t worry. You are going more for the consistency vs. the color. And for the length of your Luteul Phase (after O) that is on average 14 days, but can vary by woman, and slighty by cycle. For example, my LP is in the neighborhood of 12-14 days after O.
This whole process can be vary confusing if you just use one sign to track it. Would you consider temping or using OPK''s to confrim O? If you can do that for a couple months, you should be able to get a better idea of your cycle. Good luck and feel free to ask any more questions.

*****
So I am chugging right along here on CD30, 13DPO. I am having some light cramping today, so maybe AF has decided to show her face. Either way, if she is not in full swing by tomorrow, I am going to take another HPT. I have a feeling this might be her though...Oh well, I am super excited to being my BD''ing marathon in a week or so!

Have a great day and good luck to the 2WW''ers!
36.gif

DC: fingers crossed for you!! Funny that you are looking forward to BD marathon if not -- I had a very similar thought this morning!

LV and Noel: Yay 2WW! I have great vibes and fingers crossed for both of you!

Thanks to all for the support with AF! I''m rarin'' to go this cycle. Let''s go, New Years Babies!!

Thank you, Krissie! Have fun in your upcoming marathon!

DCGator - You are so patient!! Good for you for not testing! Not sure what kind of tests you're using, but I've got a stash of 50 and let me tell you, not one bit of restraint when it comes to testing. And, thanks for your advice. I do need to fill the weekend with activities. Fortunately, the weather will be perfect this weekend, unlike right now with some flooding in New England. Maybe we will take the doggies out to a park in one of the corners of CT that we rarely get to visit!

******************

Just received my blood work results. I do not have to take the HCG booster, which means I can test on April 3!! SO HAPPY about that.
9.gif
1.gif
9.gif
I will "test out" the HCG to make sure my results are not confused by the HCG shot from last Friday. (This is when 50 tests come in handy.
1.gif
) The nurse also told me, when I prodded her for more information, that there is nothing in the blood work that would tell me one way or another re: pregnancy at this point.

ETA: Just realized, after talking to DH, that I may never truly be able to test out the HCG. If I start producing it on my own, then the tests will likely just stay positive, but we shall see!!

Icekid! Woooooooo!!! You have awesome taste! Wow, a tsav!!!!!! Wowee Wow! A baby and a Leon tsav ring? You lucky lady!!!! I love the baby ring in advance idea.
31.gif
How are you feeling? Oh, we are so happy for you!

Inhisarms, hello! EWCM does not have to be clear - just stretchy or having the consistency of egg white! That is great that you have such great CF! To answer your other question, if you did ovulate (based on your EWCM) you would probably expect AF 12-16 days from now (on average!) because everyone is different. Good luck!!!

Brightlight! You might be KTFU and I hope you are! When I was going nuts wondering when I would get AF, I happened upon some websites where women claimed to have gotten BFPs very late in their cycles. Did you have any big events like illness, travel, strange working hours or etc.? Sometimes that can really delay O. Hmmmm! I am sending you a lot of dust!

KUNZITE! Yes, I feel like I am in the dark ages! It is really quite frustrating because I have no idea what is going on and when to time BD.... if I even O''d... GAH!
26.gif
Ah well, it is an exercise in patience! I sure do miss Eva! How exciting for you that you''re 9DPO!!!! Wonderful! I wish I were 9DPO! Buckets of dust to you!

NOEL! YAY for the 2WW! Sounds like you got everything covered!
36.gif
HUGE truckloads of dust!

Loves Vintage! Hola! Oh wow, I wish I had a good feeling about this month! Ha! In any case, I sure had fun "trying!!!"
31.gif
DH and I definitely rekindled something in Mexico and it hasn''t worn off yet! Lots of dust to you! Very exciting news on your front!!! Oh, and I agree about the internet cheapie tests! WHY DIDN''T I GET THEM BEFORE??? They are so much fun! I can test 10 times a day with no guilt! Ha! Those FRERs were pricey! I don''t even want to know how much I spent on those!

Miscka! Heehee. I know how you feel about FF. When I first started, I thought you had to be a major Type A person to temp every day. And I didn''t want to be Type A! Well, now I am Type A about temping because it is really fun! LOL I''d say try a few cycles without temping if you aren''t ready, but once I started... I really regretted not charting before. It really is amazing and really neat to see what your body is doing. A lot of women chart a few cycles before TTC because they get to familiarize themselves with their cycles and their bodies. I wish I had done that because I''m charting now and don''t know what is normal/abnormal..what to look out for... because it''s all new!

And I love your fetus song! How about "Are you in there little fetus...in 9 months when you come out to greet us, mommy can finally have some margaritas."

CatLuver! OHHHH! Exciting about your almost positive OPK! You''re going to O soon! Bet it''ll come tomorrow or the day after! It''ll be nice and dark, no question about it.

DCGATOR!!!!! Ohhhh, warm cookies. Hubba hubba. I swear, I can hear music when I see a plate of steaming cookies heading my way. The music is...Barry White...
36.gif
Oh, CD30! Excellent! Light cramping could be a very good thing. Are you going to test tomorrow? Fingers crossed for you!!! Dust dust dust dust!!!! If AF does come, you can have a glass of wine with those cookies!

Krissie! You go, girl! Your DH better hold on to his hat! Let''s go 2010 Babies!!!

****************************
On my end, I''m lamenting the big chunk of data I''m missing on FF thanks to vacay. Couldn''t it have been near the beginning of my cycle or something? Aiyee! So I have no idea if I O''d. Noel, thanks for the tip about reading Eva sticks!!! Maybe I''ll try a few of them just to see. It''s weird but I feel like we didn''t get KTFU this cycle. I don''t *feel* like the egg (if she ever made her grand entrance) fertilized. Isn''t that odd? Last time, I just instinctively felt pregnant and knew very early on that we were KTFU. This time, it''s like I can feel that it didn''t happen this cycle! Like maybe I didn''t ovulate or perhaps even if I did the egg didn''t fertilize. Just a strange feeling that it didn''t happen this cycle! But I''m OK with that.

More and more I am cherishing the process and the time I have with DH. It''s so funny how even in the midst of BD, I will think, "I wish we had more time to ourselves!" It is just so wonderful to be with DH and to do whatever we want... traveling just the two of us... having so much romance and time just for each other. It''s so beautiful that I feel we should enjoy it as much as possible. We are both very ready to have a baby, but we are also very aware that this time we have together is more precious than rubies!

Loads of dust and love to you all!

LV – Yes, it is still quite early but I normally have a 10 day LP so for me AF is just around the corner! Tested again today, another BFN and I have a very small amount of spotting. All signs point to AF in one day. My avatar is a Barry stone, good eye! I just adore his faceting and he always has an abundance of tourmalines that catch my eye. In case you didn’t know, he posts his new stones at 6mt on Wednesdays. So if you’re looking for something tomorrow is a new drop!
31.gif

Miscka – I will test everyday! I don’t have the kind of patience some of the ladies around here seem to have. I have to stop myself from testing twice a day.
3.gif
It’s so weird that you bring up telling friends. This is our first month of trying and yesterday my BFF asks me if we’re trying (out of the blue) so I let her in on the secret. Then today one of my friends at work asks me the same question, again out of the blue. I couldn’t believe it. I must have a sign on my forehead or something!!

dcgator – I think you and I are in the exact same situation at the moment. Good luck to you lady!!
35.gif

Bliss – I know exactly what you’re saying. When I think about this not being our month it doesn’t get me that down because I really enjoy the time that DH and I have right now (oh yeah, and I think about the cost of daycare being delayed by one month…. but that’s a different story!) Ask me again in four cycles and I’ll probably give you a different answer, but for now I’m going to cherish this time that we have.

Heehee, shhhh! Yeah, with school and lack of full-time employment for me but good job for him (not to mention burning desire to steal some of my DHs genes) we thought we would see what happens. It would actually be a good time for me, which we had never thought of.

Nowwwww, when will we see YOU around these parts? After your big vaca?

Bliss - I am TOTALLY type A, so I know a little knowledge can be DANGEROUS for me. I will admit, if I hadn''t just gotten off the IUD (no periods at all) and had ANY clue where I was in my cycle I would probably temp
9.gif
. Maybe after AF? LMAO I like your song! Mmmm margaritas! So fun for the vaca magic to stick around, heehee.

Kunzite - I have only told one person so far. Our situation is weird right now, and telling ppl would require a long explanation that I would rather not give, esp. since it could take awhile, who knows! People ask us all the time (I am clearly baby-crazy) which is so weird! I POAS 2x a day awhile back, so no judgement here! I bought the cheapies off Amazon so I feel way less quilty POAS whenever I feel like it, haha.

DCgator, good luck in the am!

Krissie, yay for NY babies!! Very exciting, NY is my fave.

LV - 4/3 is my anni, hope it goes well for you!

-------------------------------------------

what brand prenatal do you guys take? I am struggling to find a good one with DHA. Thought I found one, but I misread it. Blah.

Not much else here...wish I knew where I was in my cycle. I have cramps, and my Dr. seemed to think I ovulated this week or last, but we don''t know. And DH has a migraine, don''t migraines know not to interfere? Since idk the cycle stuff yet I figured we would just DTD all the time.
41.gif

Bliss If you have temps from pre and temps from post vacation, and you have temped in past months, you may be able to tell if you O''d. Most women have a range of pre-O temps and a range of post-O temps that are stable accross months. So are your temps presently more similar to your usual pre-O or post-O temps based on your previous charts? Are they higher than before vacay?

Hello ladies,

I hope you all are making it through the week ok. My week is kinda sucking right now work wise, but only 3 more days till the weekend, lol!

Krissie: I am fully psyched for the April BD''ing marathon! All I can say is there is going to be a lot of us enjoying some couple time in the coming weeks
31.gif

LV: Woohoo for not having to take the HCG booster and ESPECIALLY for testing EARLY!!! I have a great feeling about you kicking off our busy April with the first BFP!
9.gif
....Lots of DUST... Now all you have to do is keep busy till then
20.gif

Brightlight: Did you get a chance to get in to see the doc yet? I hope all is well.

Bliss: I hope that the stars have aligned for you this cycle. If not though, it sounds like you are fully enjoying the process. I hope you do get a pleasant surprise in the next few weeks though
2.gif

Kunzite: How is it going for you. Did AF show her ugly head or are you still in the game? Fingers crossed for happy results, but if not, please jump on the April BD''ing train with the rest of us
3.gif

Miscka: I take CintaNatal Assure. It is prescription and normally runs $40, but there is a coupon online for $10 each month, so only $30 a month now (for a year I think). It is a 2-pill daily dose, one is a multi-vitamin and one is a DHA (plant-based). I haven''t had any major side effects from it, so I am happy with it. But, as I am sure a lot of these ladies will tell you, every prenatal is different for everyone, so maybe try out a few.

******
Well, as for me, AF showed her ugly head in a major way. Midday yesterday, cramps had me doubled over. Ugh. Anywho, I am kinda excited to officially be in a new cycle and am ready to get down to my BD''ing marathon in about 10 days
9.gif
.

Good luck to you ladies in the 2WW and for those of you heading into April with high hopes, let''s go team! On that note, does anyone have any cute phrases for the April ladies (as a recap for the newbies, February was Going for the Gold (Olympics) and March was March Madness(NCAA BBall)).

Miscka, I'm taking Women's One a Day Prenatals. The package comes with one multivitamin and one DHA liquid gel that you take each day for 30 days. The only side effect I've noticed is a little nauseous feeling if I take them on an empty stomach. When I take them after lunch or dinner, I notice nothing. They run for about $20 in the drugstore. I asked my OB/GYN if it mattered what brand to take and he said no.

DCgator, April's a hard one! How about "April Fool bfps Rule"? Hmmm, hopefully, other more creative April ladies will come up with something better.

Bliss, glad to hear you had a great time in Mexico. This is our 5th time going (we actually got married there last year) and it's for a friend's wedding. I don't want to read too much into it but the fates might be lining up for us. We'll be there not only for our friend's wedding but also to celebrate our 1 year anniversary which coincides with our stay there. And according to FF, that week is prime bding time. DH wanted to wait until May to officially start trying, so here's hoping the Mexican fertility gods take a liking to us.

I''m so excited for you! Fantastic!!

Yes, post big vaca! So hopefully late 2011. Can''t wait! Hopefully you''ll have a little one by then!
36.gif

CDN, I am so glad you just posted this! I was going to Target and maybe BRU later ,but the 1 a day was the one I was most considering. My Dr said that too about brands, but the DHA thing was tripping up my options. Do you mind if I ask about your avatar? It''s gorgeous. I hope the stars align for you, I have been thinking about how cool it would be to have an anniversary baby
1.gif
Mexico seems like a great place to get KTFU! If it works out for you and Bliss maybe I should talk hubby into it
31.gif
. We are thinking of taking our belated honeymoon in the fall, and Mexico is one of our options. Your wedding pics were stunning, btw!

Congrats Miscka!!! Best of luck to you and all of the other TTC ladies!!!

no AF here for me yet...starting to get a little anxious. Today is CD 32. I''m pretty sure my cervix is currently in a low closed position, which is what they say it should be doing if I''m about to start. I think my cycle just might be a little wonky since I came off the pill. DH and I said that maybe tonight we can go get an HPT and test tomorrow if she still hasn''t come around. No sore boobs, just some cramps, and as DH says, "Well I can think of another symptom of your AF coming into town..." meaning I''ve been cranky.

if i''m honest, i really would love to be preggo, but my biggest concern is that i had LASIK this month, and they told me that you should wait to conceive after the surgery. Plus we went out and had some drinks this weekend for a friend''s birthday and since I was sure AF was coming (i had cramps and such this weekend) I partook in the activities. so now i''m really nervous- i''ve drank, i''ve been taking antibiotic eye drops, and haven''t stopped my anxiety meds either. if i am PG- this baby may end up with three eyes, 4 fingers, and no toes! i feel like i''d already have failed this baby by making it when i hadn''t been careful! eeeek!

Miscka, glad I could give you some input on the One a Day prenatals.

My avatar is an Hermes ad. I love how serene it looks with the model laying on the scarf wrapped pillows. Where else are you considering for your belated HM? Thank you for the compliments on our photos. We were blessed with a beautiful location and a very talented photographer.

It looks like you and I are in a similar situation re: timing and employment or lack-there-of. Hopefully, it won't be long before we're busy with babies.

haven''t found the chart yet, but here''s another one. from New England Journal of Medicine, Dec 7, 1995. http://content.nejm.org/cgi/reprint/333/23/1517.pdf

noelwrconpro.JPG

dcgator: sorry about AF.

LV - congrats on the good news!

Bliss - I get what you mean about not “feeling” it; I’m convinced that I would be able to tell if I were pregnant. Last cycle I definitely did not feel pregnant. Re: time w/DH, it’s sort of the best of both worlds now - you get to enjoy each other, but when you get preg, it will be a wonderful new adventure!

noelwr - thanks for the chart. Surprising that O-4 is higher than O-3, and O-2 is higher than O-1.

As for me, I finally got a +OPK this morning! Yay! And yesterday''s was like a dark-ish borderline - what does that mean? noelwr you had that, right? Hopefully I O today (CD14) bc we DTD yesterday. The poor swimmers from CD10 are probably goners. My temp was still in normal range today.

LV- I know, my kid is going to be spoiled with a Leon at birth, right??
2.gif
Of course, if it''s a boy I''m keeping the ring forever!! And YAY YAY on the April 3 test date. Can''t wait can''t wait
36.gif
36.gif

Kunzite- Actually, I''m totally undecided on a setting. I DO trust Leon to do his thing, though. The stone is an oval, which is not my favorite but it was just the best quality stone available and I''ve become more and more picky with my gems
2.gif
Maybe a three stone with pears (baby makes three.. puke, right? hehe) or else some split shank pave action.

noelwr- Strong work on the timing! Sounds like you definitely did you best to make it happen this month. Thinking of you in your TWW!

Mischka- You are right about tsavorites having high dispersion, but when you get into the more saturated greens it does not come through as much unfortunately. They''re still nice and sparkly, though! Hahaha, love your DH''s song!

CatLuver- Maybe you can do some convincing of your hubby for a LM baby present eventually too.. since you do all of the growing/ birthing work and all
9.gif
Sounds like O is coming soon?!

dcgator- I definitely do not feel bad about fibbing! It IS true that my cycles are very irregular anyway hehe. Boooooooooo to AF. What a jerk. April sounds like a lovely month to get knocked up, though.

Bella- If you''re reading at all, hope you''re having a wonderful and "busy" vacation
2.gif

Bliss- The tsav ring won''t be completed for a while, anyway! It''s been a long process and no doubt deciding on a setting will be, as well. My goal will be to have the ring finished shortly after the munchkin is born. I am feeling pretty well, so far! Sore boobs and tummy bloat, but shockingly no MS. And despite the fact that I am working 30 hours shifts every third night, not that tired either!? Go figure.

I just haaaaaaaaave to share with you ladies, because I cannot tell anyone else. Well, I''ve been unable to keep my little secret long. My entire immediate family already knows (my family is elated)! And unfortunately due to working around fluoro xrays, work needed to know already too
14.gif
I know they will try to keep it quiet, but everyone is going to KNOW the reason when my schedule gets changed around. Oh well, there is absolutely nothing I can do to prevent that.

However! My hubby called his older sister yesterday to tell her that we were knocked up. He said- I have news for you. She said- No, I have news for you, UNCLE. Turns out that she is also pregnant and due about 8 weeks before me. I am so unbelievably excited! We were starting to think there would be no kids in their future, since they''ve been married 7 years and SIL is 35 now (I know, I know this is not old
2.gif
). But I am hoping this will be a big bonding experience for us, too. I adore her, but we''ve never lived in the same city so our relationship has been somewhat limited. So excited to go through pregnancy with her
36.gif
36.gif
Hopefully we''ll have a pair of close cousins. It is also great because it will deflect SO MUCH of MIL''s attention from me to HER hahaha (she would kill me for saying that, but it is true!)

icekid, that is awesome for your SIL!
36.gif
and for you to have someone to go through it all with!

CDN - I thought it looked familiar, I love that ad! I didn''t know you were job searching, it SUCKS! Agree re:being busy w/little ones, I am hoping that we can maneuver this seemingly bad situation into a perfect chance for me to stay home for the first yearish. We are considering Europe as well for our HM. I have travelled a fair amt, but DH hasn''t so I will probably let him choose! We had one planned to Mexico this last Jan, but I had just lost my job and was a ball of sadness and stress. Now I don''t care so much, my skin has toughened up for sure.

HH - Thanks!!! I have enjoyed hearing about your journey
5.gif

dcgator - boo for AF, but yay for April babies! That puts us in January, right?

Elle - I thought vaca was THIS year! What fun to plan and be excited for. Are you guys house hunting soon? Seems like not that long ago we had the lease debate, but I feel like its been forever since I have even logged in to PS, so you might be looking already!

Charbie - don''t worry! Just think about that nutsy TLC show where women did weird stuff all 9 mo since they "didn''t know". Also, don''t you not share a blood supply for the first few weeks? Just work your way off the meds when you can and it''ll work out!

------

So, today I have had a lot of cramps from my left side. Is this ovulation pain? Should we be DTD? My Dr. made me feel like a flood of eggs was going to start falling from my tubes after the IUD, haha, so I am paranoid to miss one!

Kunzite - Anything new?
2.gif
Thanks for the info about Barry's new stones. I actually do know about that because I am on his e-mail distribution list now, but only because I e-mailed him about Icekid's stone! He told me he hasn't seen a similar stone since -- lucky Icekid. Anyway, I then asked about the nicely cut Chrysoberyl in colored stones, when everyone quickly explained that Barry is known for cutting those lovely chunky facets, so that's how I recognized your stone!! Ha, ha! That's all I know about gem stones, actually.

DHA-supplementing ttc'ers - Did your ob/gyn specifically advise to take a pre-natal with DHA? Mine did not, so I have not been taking it. My RE also does not typically advise that it be taken. I don't think it could do any harm, just wondering if I should add it. I'll have to find a nice plant derived formula, like DCGator mentioned. I checked my local pharmacy today and do not want to take the fish-derived formula due to my own dietary preferences.
40.gif

Icekid - Let's keep hoping!! Saturday will be 11DPO, hoping that won't be too early . . . And, OK, wait, 30 hour shifts and you are not tired!!!! I think you deserve a round of applause just for that!
36.gif

You are AMAZING! How many hours do you typically work total?

Hey Ladies!!!! Gosh so much going on...I had to open up 2 windows to get to everyone. Welcome to all of the new girls!

LV -- I have a bunch of questions for you lady! But first, I can't WAIT for you to test on April 8th! GAH!!!

noel -- thanks for all of the charts and scientific stuff! Very helpful!!!

dcgator -- Sorry about dumb AF. She can really crash a party. But you seem pumped for the next cycle so that's good!!!

charbie -- I hope this cycle is lucky for me! And for you too!!! Don't worry about the drinking...something about you not sharing blood supply with your baby until a certain week. If you read anything about it, it says you're in the clear. Someone can probably quote you real stats, but don't worry. And I bet LASIK is okay??? Wouldn't you think they have to give those warnings to cover their arses? I bet it's fine. Hope your test tomorrow morning comes back POSITIVE!!!

Catluver -- yay for the + OPK!!!

Icekid -- that's so exciting about your sister in law!!!

Kunzite -- ??? Any updates?

OK, so I went for a follow up ultrasound for CD15 at my RE. They said my follie was nice and big and ready to pop. For some reason I guess she's just lingering around? Anyway, they gave me an Ovidrel injection. Yikes! I hate shots but it wasn't too too bad. My wallet hurt more...those things are so expensive! $100! So my nurse was very robotic and was giving me blanket answers. Me: So how long until I ovulate? Her: Anywhere from 24-48 hours from now. You will need to BD Thursday night and Friday. Me: Friday night or Friday morning? Her: whichever one. Me: So nothing tonight? Her: Nah, not unless you really want to. Me:
33.gif
Her: You'll really feel it. With Ovidrel, it's a very heavy feeling. Me: I've never consciously ovulated, so I don't really know what to expect. Her: (laughing, then jamming the needle in my stomach).
33.gif

So, LV, please help me out. I'm researching when normal ovulation occurs with Ovidrel, but it looks like people can't tell bc the OPK would show positive no matter what, correct? And if I tested for pregnancy say, at 8DPO, it would come back pregnant even if I wasn't, correct? Isn't this kind of the same thing you are battling? I'm so confused! A different nurse on CD13 that I talked to told me to BD the night of the injection, the next morning, and again on the night after the injection.

Anyway, long story short, I'm going to be on my first ovulatory cycle in about 24 hours!!!!! First since May!!!!! You girls do not understand how excited and happy I am!!!!!

ETA: For whoever was asking about DHA with prenatals, my RE said they didn't matter. It's for development once pregnant. Folic acid is really the only thing for development before you find out you are knocked up. So I take one without....fwiw.

Kunzite, thinking of you! Wow, a Barry gem!!!! It is incredible!

Miscka! Heehee. Yes, I forsee you will be a temping, Evaing, cervix checking fertility goddess! Good luck to you! I hope you are a jerkstore, though! Then you won't go all Type A at all! How nice about the anniversary trip! Go somewhere warm! About the O pain, it could be! Are you using any OPKs or anything? Do you have CM? It definitely could be O pain!

Dreamer!!!! Oh thank you! You are such a smart cookie!
36.gif
I've temped one cycle before this one; and for that one chart, my coverline was around 97.6! So I thought, "Oh goodie! I can base my temps around the coverline!" But alas! My temps *this* cycle hovered around 97.4 and not 97.6! So on this cycle, it hit 97.6 a few days ago...then 97.9 yesterday and today... so I think either way, I have O'd but I'm not sure when! At 97.6? Or 97.9? They say a shift of .4 is needed for a shift, so I guess 97.9?

And each cycle, is it the same in terms of coverline or is your coverline value different each month? Ahhh, this is why you ladies were so smart to temp *before* TTC! I'd have a better grasp on what to look out for had I temped before TTC! So I'm in the TWW, but I don't *feel* deep down that anything happened this cycle! It feels so blissfully non-preggo - no crazy emotions, no hot flashes, no huge boobs, no bloat... nada! It's OK. I feel like this cycle wasn't meant to be - since Eva did go to Happy Baby Land, maybe it wasn't supposed to happen.
41.gif

On another note, DREAMER, how kind of you to pop in and support us from time to time! You are such a kind soul! How are you doing???? We are so happy for you!!!

Dcgator! Awwww, AF came and said hello today? Well, rest up for your BD marathon! Or should I say, marathong?
31.gif
LOL
Hmmmm...what could be a good April slogan? I'm stumped!

CDNinNYC, lucky you! I love Mexico! This was my first time there and I fell in love with it. And it's going to be prime BD time? I'd say everything is lining up for a Mexico baby! You know, there is *something* about Mexico that makes people go BD crazy!
31.gif
Rest up!

Hey Elledizzy! Welcome! Thanks for the dust, Hudson!

Charbie! Sorry about the wonky cycles! I hear ya! My memory is bad so I hope you'll forgive me for asking: when did you test last? I wonder if you're preggo? As for the drinks & the other stuff...Try not to worry too much - what's done is done. Just do the best that you can day by day! Big hugs and dust to you!

Noel, what a fascinating chart! Thanks! Thinking of you!

CatLuver! YAY FOR YOUR POSITIVE OPK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully you will O today or tomorrow! Either way, it sounds imminent and it's happening! HOORAY! Keep BD'ing for the next couple of days just to cover the possible lag. If sperm counts are good, then every fertile day should cover it!

Icekid!!!!!!!!!!! Hey pretty mama! Sorry you're feeling the bloat and the ouchie boobs! Yep, I remember those! No picnic!!! I am SO happy for you in that you don't have MS yet! Yay! Cherish these days!!!!! I am so happy to hear that your little beanie baby is keeping you so happy you are floating through those 30 hour shifts! Rest as much as you can! Yay for your strong little bean! And WOW about your SIL! That is SO incredible!!!! You will have so much to share together. That is SO special... how wonderful!!!!

Loves Vintage, thinking of you!!!!

*****************************
On my end, just waiting to get enough temps to see what is going on in FF land! I'm pretty sure I ovulated, since I have a clear thermal shift... just not quite sure if it was on CD 19 or 22. I was a bad girl and I've learned my lesson. Temping is key to sanity!
34.gif
I guess I can expect AF in about a week and a half! Trying sure was fun this month!
31.gif
Let's go April babies!!!! It'll be an April Marathong!

Bliss - yes, had kind of weird CM today. Hmmm.

LV - re:DHA....my Dr. did suggest it and after reading about it I wanted to take it, does your RE advise NOT to take it, or just doesnt advise it? Mine is fish-based, unfortunately.

Lanie, How exciting!! Ovidrel is an HCG trigger-shot, just like Novarel, which is what I have taken (but my DH did the injections!) Don't even worry about OPKs at this point. You are going to ovulate 24-48 hours after the injection. OPKs are helpful if you don't have other information to help you predict when ovulation will occur, but you DO.

Yes, regarding the issue with testing. If you were to take an HPT now, you would see a BFP. This did not register for me the first time I took Novarel, so I didn't test out the Novarel (take an HPT every day until negative). This time, the RE threw a wrench in my plan to test out the trigger by having me take another half-dose of Novarel. I AM testing it out now, but I may never reach a negative. Time will tell. Still slight positive tonight. So, you could do that, or you could wait til 10DPO, which is when most women are clear of the trigger-HCG and can be confident the BFP is due to pregnancy-HCG.

Regarding timing, if you and DH are up for 3 days in a row, you may as well. I get conflicting advice from the nurses at my RE's office too when I ask questions, so I know it can be frustrating. I will see if I can find anything informative for you re: timing around the trigger, but I'm sure there are lots of opinions on the topic.

What will be the next step for you? Will you have blood work, an u/s or other meds?

Miscka, My RE does not specifically advise taking DHA, but he does not say you should not take it either. He is silent on the issue.

Oops! In my super long post, I forgot to say hi to you, Lanie!

Congrats on ovulating!!!!!

First time since May? VERY EXCITING! You know, this could be it! I hope first time''s a charm for you!
Think positive thoughts... sending you buckets of dust, lady!!!!!!!!!

Bliss I forgot to say hi to YOU! I meant to say how frustrating it must have been to drop Eva. Hopefully you had a proper burial. :)

LV--you are a saint. Thanks for posting all of that! You are right, it is very confusing since I guess you don''t really know when you ovulate. I think I''ll just wait until about 13 days from today. I would hate to get a false positive and get all worked up. I''m just so glad we found the magic cocktail of expensive drugs to make me O! And to answer your questions...no appt except for the one I scheduled 2 weeks and a day from today so I can get meds for the next cycle if needed.

Lanie - I wish I could help you more with the timing. I''ve looked at a bunch of different sites and could not find anything that looked very informed. Some say you should start the same day of trigger, some say wait 24 hours, so there does not seem to be a lot of consistency.

This time my IUIs were 12 hours and 36 hours after trigger. Last time, they were 24 hours and 48 hours after trigger. So, there''s another inconsistency! Fortunately, there is some leeway in all of this. Our bodies know what to do, right?

Were any of your drugs covered? Does your insurance plan cover any fertility treatments? If it does, then drugs would be covered too. When I had United, drugs were covered through the pharmacy plan. With Cigna, they are covered through the medical plan, so if you were to call the Cigna pharmacy number, they would tell you that fertility drugs are not covered, even though they are, through your medical benefit. Just wanted to pass this along in case you are getting misinformation through your insurance co.

Hope you''re a jerkstore, Lanie!!
