The Official TTC Thread!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Congrats to AMC And Meg! Super sticky dust going out to both of you.

Bright, I have felt warm after taking the Clomid. The first day I felt like my stomach area was hot. I haven't noticed it too much, but I am warmer after taking it at night. I have not seen the new OB (it's a small group practice with 1 female and 1 male doctor). I think with the RE, if/when I get pregnant, I will stay with the RE a few weeks and then switch to an OB once I am out of the woods so I hope I can get in without already being an established patient. I called my current ob again yesterday and pressed the button for complications (I had been pressing nurse line for test results previously) and I was able to speak to a nurse who said she had my results, but my doctor needed to communicate them to me. So, no call yet. I know my OB is at the hospital on Wednesdays so I'll call back again tomorrow (I'm sure they won't call me first.) No news on the car front. We have narrowed it down I think to Camry, Altima, or Volvo. So, we'll likely do some more test drives after the inlaws leave and make a decision - my DH thinks we'll get a better deal in December. So, today is my last Clomid night, and I will go in tomorrow AM for the post Clomid blood work part 1.

MP, don't worry too much about symptoms - I really didn't notice much and felt like I had less symptoms than usual when I did get my BFP in August. Hope is not lost until AF sings. Hugs to you - I completely understand what you are going through though. I had a wine binge night last Thursday after AF showed up even though I tried to set my expectations low. I ended up with a hangover which I have not had in a really long time - but I think I was overdue for one after this year of ups and downs.

Tammy, test again!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

JGator, I just used a FRER after holding my pee for 4 hrs and it looked concentrated enough to give a reliable test...BFN. I know I'm not out, but I really hoped I'd get a BFP today. It just added fuel to the fire that we found out that my coworker delivered her little girl this morning! She's doing great and so is mom, was 6 lbs 11 oz and 19" long. :appl:

How many DPO are you?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I'm only 9 DPO today, but last month's LP was only 9 days and my temps were so different, though it was also my first post-bcp ovulation and AF so I know I'm flying (mostly) blind. I'm just hoping to know by Friday, which would actually be perfect timing for telling DH *if* I'm pregnant. 8)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Jgator, sorry your ob's office isn't being very responsive. How frustrating. I'm glad you found a new one & that you like your re. I hope you get the results tomorrow. It's definitely worth a follow up call. Let us know how the bloodwork goes.
Thanks for your input on the clomid. I asked dh if he was hot last night too & he said he was actually a little chilly. Quite the switch! I guess this is a little preview to menopause.
I think your dh is probably right about car deals now. I believe Toyota is offering 0% financing on new Camrys & I'm sure other dealers are offering great deals too. Good luck!
Hoping you have 2 new additions to your family soon!

Tammy, still hopeful for you! My first cycle off the pill was much shorter than my subsequent cycles so you might not be out yet!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I agree with China...MP and Bright Spot, rooting for you ladies! You deserve it! Your time has come for a BFP! Let's hope that clomid does the trick for you both!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Bright, thank you. Unfortunately, I don't think an IUI will work out timing wise next month. It would just be cutting it too close. That’s why I’m feeling extra down today. January seems so far away! I’m excited for you though that the timing is going to work out! Hopefully the hotflashes are the only symptom you get. I’ll be curious to see if you get the sore nipple thing after ovulation. It’s been SO annoying and I thought for sure it would be gone by now!

JGator, you’re right that all hope is not lost yet. I’m just basing it on my gut instinct, which unfortunately hasn’t failed me yet. I don’t blame you one bit for indulging last week after what you’ve been through. You also truly deserve a BFP! BTW – I've had my camry since 2002, and it’s a great car. I’m sure the others you are looking at are as well, but my car has been super low maintenance so far and I intend to drive it a few more years. Knock on wood!

Lizzy, thanks for the support! I’ll take all the rooting I can get! Still so very happy for you!

Tammy, I’ve always heard you should use FMU for early tests, and it is still very early, so I wouldn’t read too much into it, especially if you are getting other signs. Your temps look good. I figured when you said you had a secret and it was a good one that you knew something about amc, but I didn’t want to speculate or say anything until amc came back. You ladies who post your charts better be careful or else Tammy will know you’re KU before you do! Only kidding. Kind of : )

Funny, I totally missed this and had to go back to read it!

Tammy, it's technically not stalking if people put it out on the internet for all to see!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks everyone for the congrats! I was very surprised and didn't expect it so soon, but we're thrilled. I've been having heartburn full blast all day, but that's about it so far. I have an appt right after xmas, but not doing betas for now. My Dr and I agreed that the beta rollercoaster I took with my MC was enough and that this time we should just hang on til the u/s @ 6 weeks.

I plan to hang around here until we're sure things are going well...I can't help but hesitate and feel nervous.

Congrats to AMC as well! Woooo! So happy for you! EDD yet? I'm looking at Aug 19 right now...

FINGERS CROSSED FOR A HECK OF A LOT MORE BFPs AROUND HERE FOR THE HOLIDAYS!

EDD based on ovulation day is Aug 15, so we are close! When is your appointment? Mine is 12/27. And I'm right there with you on the heartburn. I've had it since about 7DPO and it's all day, every day. I need to buy stock in Tums.

And ditto to you on everything else. I am way more apprehensive this time after what happened last month. The strong BFPs I'm getting is helping, but it's hard to believe you're pregnant when you can't see anything. I know I will regret this, but I can't wait for morning sickness to kick in...I think it will make everything more real!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

WOW it's a BFP Boom!!

Congrats to AMC and Meg! And Mega dust to everyone else for some holiday beans!

I'm just truckin along waiting for my progesterone shot to work and AF to come so I can schedule my HSG and get going. My bloodwork came back just fine so I started the Metformin today. I got that news yesterday and DH filled the script (it was free at Publix too - score!) but yesterday was our Anniversary, and I didn't want to start the Met on top of a big indulgent dinner. Good thing because even without it I was feeling pretty iffy overnight / this morning after all that wine and rich food. Interesting too that I notied when I woke up at 4am (love that alcohol LOL) that my heart was racing. In the paperwork that came with the script for the Met it talks about high and low blood sugar, and that racing heartbeat is a sign of low blood sugar. Somehow I never put those two together before and I realized that I've noticed my heart racing quite often in the last few months, so I definitely think there is an imbalance going on with my insulin / glucose so hopefully the Met will help me in more ways than one. I also found out through my Mom that a cousin also has PCO and she's been taking Met for several years and she is doing great on it and it really helped her lose weight.

I'm very happy with my RE's office so far, my nurse called me with my results on Tuesday, and the financial office returned my call today and went over my insurance. For the part that they cover (they pay everything up to a certain amount) I don't even have to pay a copay! And as long as my labs are sent to the right place, those will be covered too! SoI'm very glad I won't be racking up a ton of copays. DH and I talked and since he's self-pay (not on my insurance) we'll probably wait until after the holidays to do his SA. It's really not that expensive so maybe we should jsut go ahead, I'd hate to put it off then find out later that we needed assistance on his end as well.

On the car front, DH and I are currently an all-Toyota family and we're very pleased. Our (my) 'New' car is an 08 Scion XB and I LOVE it! I definitely suggest testing one out while you're at Toyota shopping. I love how it rides and it has a ton of room. Scion also has a little more of a high end feel to me than Toyota (but that's also probably because our Toy is a Corolla).

SO I hope there are going to be lots more BFP's coming up over the next few weeks. It's a little upsetting to think that my chance of seeing one this year are extremely slim, but I'm on the road, in the process so that's what counts. It's the journey, not just the destination, right?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Rach, happy anniversary! Glad you had a fun celebration with your dh. You were wise to hold off on the metformin until after your big dinner.
That's fascinating that a racing heart can signify low blood sugar. I've been noticing that in myself &, since reading about how pcos women are at greater risk for heart disease, had convinced myself that something was wrong on that front. (this process seems to be turning me into a bit of a hypochondriac) I'm relieved to know it might be just blood sugar issues. (I have had my cholesterol checked & an EKG & both were a ok. ) So I'm hoping the met helps with that for both of us. I personally have noticed a lack of food cravings but wasn't sure if it was due to more stable blood sugar or a newfound fear of food. (I've had a couple of bad reactions with the met & certain foods so have become a cautious rather than exuberant eater.) I've also lost a couple of pounds since I started the met. I'm not sure how much of it is the mess vs dietary changes (fewer carbs & less food overall & no more dessert) but I hope it keeps coming!
I think you're definitely much closer to your bfp than you were last month.  I've heard great things about the met.

Amc & meg, continued sticky dust with a side of anti-heartburn dust.

Lol re: the chart stalking.

Mp, I'll keep you posted on my post-o symptoms with the clomid. Did you have o pains too?
I hear you about January feeling like it's so far away. Hugs to you. I really hope this month is your month, friend.  Do you have fun holiday plans to distract you a bit?

Lizzy, thanks so much for rooting for
us! I'm just so over the moon happy for you & your bean! You deserve it! I also appreciate all of your btdt advice. It helps so much.

Afm, assuming all goes well with the clomid & I do wind up doing the trigger & iui this month, I'm now starting to wonder whether I can wait until 14 dpiui to test as recommended or if I should test out my trigger shot. Any advice? I don't want to make myself any crazier than I already am about this process but do love a good pee stick. (Is it crazy for wanting to see those 2 lines even if I know it's a false positive?)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hey Bright :wavey:

So have you had bad reactions to sweets or just rich food / too much food generally? Just curious even though I know everyone reacts differently.

And thanks for the Anniversary wishes! It was a great day, I did a super cute craft I saw online - 52 reasons I love you - a deck of cards with messages on it with reasons why you love your partner. Some I saw online went all out like scrapbooks, mine was jsut slips of paper but it was super cute and DH loved it.

I'll post a pic once I get it adjusted - I got a little 'bling' too - DH got me a watch! It's a Bulova and it has crystals in the band, apparently the 3rd in the modern anniversary gift lists is crystal so DH went super sweet with that one. I can't wear it till I get it adjusted though, I can push it almost up to my elbow it's so much too big!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

amc, August 15 is a great due date. That's my birthday!

Rachel, glad you are feeling optimistic. I think DH's SA was like $280, but oddly, our insurance covered all but $18 of it. It must have had something to do with the coding and not indicating what kind of laboratory work it was. Since you are just getting regulated now, it wouldn't be the end of the world if you wanted until next year. Hope metformin gets things going again for you!

Bright, I don't normally get O pains, but I think I maybe felt a few twinges this month. Nothing major. I think maybe the fact I was on half of the normal starting dose may have lessened some of the effects for me because I read about a lot of women saying that they felt ovulation much more on clomid. I do have fun holiday plans. We're spending a long weekend with my family. They live about 7-8 hours away, so I haven't seen my little nieces and nephews since this summer. It should be really fun, and will hopefully help pass the time. I'm sure I'll feel more optimistic around Christmas because we'll be trying again, and that is definitely a more hopeful time of the cycle. Getting closer to your ultrasound! Can't wait to hear how it goes!

Tammy, did you test again? Crossing my fingers for you that your temps are forecasting a bfp!

Yay on the due date then! How fun.

Tammy, did you test? C'mon....

My temp went up this morning. I know I need to back away from the thermometer, but on 16DPO last month is when my temp started to go down, and then it completely dropped at17DPO. I'm on 15DPO so I'm really watching my temps over the next few days. I'll probably stop temping after 18DPO. I also really had to resist the urge to POAS this morning. I have 2 more FRER sitting right by the toilet...so tempting. But I'll use one tomorrow at 16DPO and another an 18DPO. Not guaranteeing I won't buy another pack of them to use in the upcoming weeks. I wish 12/27 would just get here already. Good thing we're doing nothing for Christmas, because it would totally get overshadowed by my appointment anyway.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Meg, I'm so, so happy for you! I can't wait to hear about your 6W appointment!
AMC congratulations!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi Ladies,

URGH....that is all.

So this morning at 10 DPO I got a BFN on a wondfo and I'm having some nasty cramps in my lower back. :(sad I don't know though, my chart looks so darn good My Ovulation Chart and FF says that the percentage of 10DPO BFP is only like 10% AND that 10.3 DPO is the average DPO for the first "false" negative test result.

Last month AF came at 10 DPO, so at this point while I'm still undeniably hopeful for a BFP, I'm going to try to at least be happy to have a longer LP. I know if it was anyone else I would totally expect them to get a BFP in a couple of days, I just don't feel that way since it's my chart. I told DH that I felt like this wasn't our month and he was sad, but is trying to be supportive by talking about how it'd be nice to have a September baby, etc. So I'm just trucking along in limbo land and I'm so not good at this. I know we haven't even been trying for long at all, but I'm so ready to be pregnant. ;(

As a side note, I'm completely out of tests. I'm trying to decide if I should go buy some tonight on my way home, or if that will just jinx me and I should wait another day or two. I think I finally understand why testing early truly isn't a good idea, I just hope I remember that and act accordingly next month.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Tammy, your temp was still up today, so that's a really good sign. I had a 10-day LP the cycle before my BFP, and I didn't get a faint line on a Wondfo until the morning of 11DPO. When I tested that same afternoon on a FRER, the line was definitely not faint. If you're going to buy more tests, go get a FRER and maybe a CBE digital too.

Don't lose hope - you're still way in it!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Tammy, sorry about the BFN. Darn those early tests. No good comes of them! (Unless you're one of the lucky ones with an early BFP) Seriously though, I agree with S&I, and I was just going to mention her story when I saw she posted. If your temps were dropping, I would be concerned, but since your chart looks really good, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. If I were you, I would wait a couple more days before testing. I know you're impatient, but really, if you are pregnant, knowing one or two days earlier won't make any difference. Hugs.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thank you ladies. I know you're both right! I've decided that I'm not going to buy anymore tests tonight. I definitely WANT to, but I am going to try to wait until Friday on my way home from work if AF hasn't shown up yet and my temps are still high. DH and I are going to go see a comedian on Friday night so I want to test before we go to that. IF I am pregnant, I have a great way to tell him and it would be perfect timing, argh!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Tammy, your chart looks great! That second rise at 9dpo is really promising. I got a BFN at 10dpo and a squinter at 11dpo with DS. Good luck!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Drummroll please...........

I'm on Cycle Day 1 Finally!!!

I hav never been so happy to get my period in my life! Still not feeling very crampy (last few cycles were this way too as far as I can remember way back to August / September) but at least we're moving forward. Scheduled my HSG for next Friday at 3pm, so I don't have to take a whole day off - the office where HSG's are done is at the opposite end of the metro area from my work, not a thrill to drive anytime in Atlanta traffic! especially since back and forth would take over an hour without bad traffic so I'm glad to be able to get such a good time for my schedule.

No side effects from the Metformin on day one so I'm hoping to skip that loveliness!

I'm not sure if I'll try to start temping but I do have plenty of wondfo's and a clearblue digital ovulation pack so I think I'll start using both after the HSG.

I also have to recommend an app! I was thinking about my wake-up pattern on repeated snoozing and looked for a zen alarm, and I found one for 99 cents. I love it! Zen alarms wake you up gradualy over 10 minutes, first with one chime, then another and they become both louder and closer together until the designated time and will go off constantly if you're not up yet by that point. I'm not feeling the neex to snooze and my DH isn't being woken up at all by it. The only downside is the phone has to be plugged in, otherwise the app will drain the battery overnight.

maybe I just will start temping, to collect some data and hopefully see a great pattern! And even if what I see isn't ideal, I'll be able to show my Doc at my follow up (as long as the HSG is clear that will be mid January and I excpect Clomid to be discussed at that point)

Fingers crossed for the early testers! try to hold out and hopefully that hcg will build up and the BFP's will start flowin!

AMC congratulations!!

Thanks Choro! I'm just 12DPO today, so it's still reaaallllly early and accordingly I'm still super nervous. DH is trying to keep me calm, but it's so hard to not analyze everything and worry lots. I hate feeling this way and want to feel excited, but it's tough. My 6 week appt is on 12/28, so I'm just hoping all goes smoothly until then.

Tammy, your chart looks awesome! Keep a good spirit, until AF shows you're still in the running lady!

Missrachel - yay for CD1! That's great news.

Bright, thanks for the anti-heartburn and sticky dust! I ate a little healthier yesterday and no heartburn...so maybe that will do the trick! No advice for you as per the trigger, but I hear you regarding wanting two lines - no matter the circumstance! TTC world is a crazy world, but we live in it so we might as well live up to the name!

amc - I agree about the morning sickness. Heck, I'll take any symptom right now. I know I'm early at 12DPO...so far just exhausted, peeing more, the heartburn and maybe a tiny soreness of bb's, but nothing major. Just so darn nervous. I hate feeling this way.

lizzy - how you doin lady???

It's hard to determine exactly what symptoms I have because I have a cold as well. But from what I can tell- I'm lightheaded, have ridiculously sore boobies (and nipples in particular, don't touch!), and, as of last night, crazy crazy veins going on in my chest and boobs. They are super freaky looking.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

*Lurking because I really belong in the big girl thread*

I honestly had a tough time believing I was pregnant for a while, even after my ultrasound at 6 weeks. I completely missed all of the nausea, morning sickness, all day sickness, food adversions, and sensitivity to smells. I've been able to eat anything and everything that I've wanted. I was bloated for the first two weeks after getting my BFP, boobs hurt for a couple days but not to the point where I wanted nothing to touch them. I was seriously lucky that's for sure! I did get the veins on my chest and still have them. My belly is starting to come out a little. I was doing the rubberband around the button to keep my jeans up and in place, but then my zipper started pulling open! I've moved on to maternity jeans and not going back! You can't make me!!! They are amazingly comfortable! It's funny because I'm not quite big enough to fill out the elastic panel in the front and with me being so short waisted, the top of the band comes all the way up to my bra. It's not very pretty, but you can't see it under shirts
