I went looking for the original post but couldnt re-find it. (there were no pics, sadly).

New to the forum. LOVE this place!!! Just purchased a antique cushion diamond in it''s original setting. I want to re-set the stone, so I''m looking for ideas. Has anyone ever seen the show The Starter Wife? (Starring Debra Messing) It was a mini series they played this past summer. Anyways she had an amazing ring...so unique. Wanted to know if anyone could find some pics of that ring. I would love to borrow some ideas of that setting. Thanks!
 
That''s a round, no? I read that her Jube is like 4/5cts or something crazy like that. The diamond on 118 is definitely huge, but it doesn''t look like a Jube to me.

I''d heard Kate''s ring was a jube but in any pic i''ve seen it sure looks round to me....i''d still take it though

I never watched the starter wife so I have no idea what the ring looked like. just wanted to say welcome and wow, an antique cushion. if you have checked out www.artofplatinum.com be sure to have a looksie....
 
Thanks Mrssalvo for the info. If you go to www.TBS.com they have all the episodes of The Starter Wife, if you watch the first episode about 4 minutes into it she takes off the ER and you can pause and have a good look at it.

I''m thinking of mounting the stone the same way LeAnne Rimes ER is set (my cushion looks similar to hers), but as far as the band goes... Maybe just a simple platnium band w/ split prong on each corner of stone (like Elizabeth Taylor''s Krupp). My Jeweler thought it would be nice if I added 2 side diamonds on each side of the ring... But I have a size 4 finger and my wedding band is all round diamonds, so I''m thinking it will take away from the main stone? Thanks for listening... =)
 
I don''t understand why they need those gaudy rings. To me, a lot the celebrity rings aren''t very tasteful. The Selita Ebanks ring is too much. And I don''t like Longoria''s either. They aren''t ugly, cause I love me some diamonds, they''re just too big. I dunno, I just like smaller stuff.
 
Penn, Selita and the guy called it off, so wonder what happened to the bling? I think it has less to do with how big as to how it is set, some gals can carry a huge stone and overall it works for them, but the setting must be tasteful.

I'm pretty sure it's just a super-thin eternity. Not sure if it's prong or bead-set, but my money would be on prong (shared or otherwise). She used to wear a honkin' RB on a matching band as a set.

I''ve found out that it was a square emerald cut, 3.27ct solitare in Platinum from Harry Winston, and cost around $60,000(yowza!)

Does anyone have any pics? Pretty please?

I think that there may be a picture here in this thread, but darned if I remember where. Keep looking .. I think we also have the Harry Winston that the character Charlotte wore.
