pkinnew; here am I again. And I can't wear just one strand. I tried. Half hour   . Have You check my new profile   ?

bsomlo, many thanks Your super sweet words. I really feel great with these pearls, but no one has said a word. Not even once...Your white ripples are from heaven. White ripples are next on my wish list and I'm hunting them. And Tahitians after whites...maybe.. ;)

LitGeek,thanks :wavey:

SMC, those silver Tahitians are quite glamorous. And I bet, they goes well what ever clothes You wear. Really nice :appl:

SMC -- those Tahitians totally MAKE the outfit! Wonderful with that top!

Today, CC stick pearls which photographed silvery in the fading light. They are lilac/pink with crazy luster. And CC made matching earrings for me! It's a fun necklace and very comfortable and light to wear:

Thanks! I think my coworkers are probably tired of seeing the same jewelry everyday. Though they're all guys, so they probably don't notice.

Stick pearls are so interesting! Are they pure nacre?

a) They probably don't notice.

b) How can anyone get sick of looking at that necklace?!

Yes, they are pure nacre. Here are some glamour shots showing the colors better:

I love you wearing those gorgeous pearls with that shirt! They go with everything!

bsomlo - I know I must have seen those before but those stick pearls are terrific! Very natural - where did you get them?

Oh wow, they are pink! I didn't realize that from your other pictures. I love them!

Confection10 - What have you done?!?! You are Cleopatra! Love it! I want to come & visit and play!

pkinnew, when I changed my profile, I wrote; if You have bad mood, just look my profile. I think it's fun shot and only pearl lover understand the point. Not even me could go out wearing all those , they are so heavy. Otherwise, of course  !

bsomlo, Your keshis are stunning. I have admired them on CC, just white ones. But Your colour is excellent. I think it's even better than white. And those earrings

Wow, that's a lot of pearls in your profile. Super luxurious looking!

SMC  :appl: :appl:

SMC Those pearls certainly do complete your outfit! :appl: :appl: :appl:

bsomlo I forgot all about those lovely stick pearls. They lookk fabulous! Please tell me someone complimented them, or at least stared at them

LitGeek -- the Lower School art teacher in my school complimented them! A compliment, or any notice of my pearls at all, is a rarity!

Everyone is looking so fabulous! It is such fun to look through this record of pearl styles!

Today I wore my pink button pearl studs with the pink drop jackets I had made this summer paired with my lavender/champagne ripples from PP's recent Hong Kong trip. I am sure no one in my orbit thinks they are pearls. I saw a colleague looking at them with confused curiosity during a meeting today.

Love the pearl button earring with drop jacket idea! That's great! And I'm seriously tempted to copy it! (if you wouldn't be offended).

Now that I'm getting some pearl button earrings!

Who are these obtuse/unobservant coworkers of yours? I would notice and compliment you every day! (even before I was a pearl enthusiast, I noticed jewelry!). :)
Although the art teacher sounds promising...

I have to resist buying more pearls. Less than 3 months ago, I had none and now I have quite a collection. My DH says no more jewelry for awhile - I interpret "awhile" as meaning "until PP's next sale." :)

Me too! And I concur about awhile. Mother's Day will be here before we know it! Which will give my pearl fund time to replenish.

Sometimes I plan the night before, sometimes the morning of... but I DO buy my tops purposefully -- they are bought to frame my pearl necklaces (hence the same style in 6 colors).

I do that too! The planning and the buying. (I don't have such a lovely neck though).

That grey top of yours looks fantastic with your pearls!

So glad you snapped that one up. :appl:

periwinklegirl -- Absolutely make jackets for your button earrings! You wouldn't be "copying" at all. I got the idea from other PriceScopers!

Regarding the Art Teacher -- if "promising" is making one comment after seeing me for 8 years, well, I guess another comment is headed my way from her within the next decade.... Of course, I wear my pearls for me, not for others' comments!

I'm stuck with my "ugly duck" lavenders. Thay are so amazing colour, now when we have more light outside. So sorry, I can't catch it to photos. I really wish Catherine had these more...

PP 45" multi-color twisted, with pink button/pink drop jacket earrings today. The picture doesn't show the subtle pastel colors (with some metallics mixed in) of the pearls -- they look totally washed out in my 1st picure so I added another shot on the bottom:

bsomlo, good luck at the dentist. I always wear pearls to the dentist so I can think of something happy in an unpleasant situation!

eta: Oh, I like your twisty pearls, too!

mynattk - It was far from fun, but it's over. My mouth feels like a yard that just had a heavy raking... but my pearls are lovely as ever!

Bsomlo, Your Tahitians looks so wonferfully deep colour aggainst Your pale skin :appl:  :wavey: .

I got today my rosy character tube rope from Catherine and of course I wear it immediately  . These are lovely :loopy: .

Glorious on you! Layers work so well for you!

bsomlo - Love your twisted multi - I'm definitely going to have to try that! And of course we have to go to the dentist, doctor, etc in pearls - it's the only way!

Bsolmo, Confection, lovely pearls!

I'm wearing the new set I made out of the long metallic Keshi strand from PP.
I can't get over how much I like these. They're so different from any Keshi I've seen before.

The set!

And here's the original strand. I sorted them into colour groups and kept the ones I liked best (the coppers) for the bracelet. I still have quite a few left (it was a 36" strand) - the creams and the lavenders.

_13902.jpg

_13903.jpg

And here's where the cream and lavender keshis are going - into a mixed strand with some white south seas and blue akoyas (plus a few white fwp to add length and balance the colours).

And here are some close ups.

I was inspired by FLYgirl's asymmetrical mixed strand.
