codex, I guessed that you're a Chinese/ Asian from your e-ring colour and clarity choice

Hahaha, actually, it's cuz my fiance is from a Vietnamese culture. When I told the salesgirl at the store I finally bought the ring from that I was looking for D colored stones, she asked me, "Is she Vietnamese?" :D That made me laugh and is part of the reason why I stuck around and let them help me. Good customer service that led to a sale.

I was actually looking for E color VS2 range, but after talking to some Vietnamese jewelers, I figured out that D VVS2 is MUCH preferred. Ahh, what the heck, she's worth it. My parents are pretty nontraditional so my mom was like, "just get a quarter carat stone now and upgrade later." hahaha, I don't think that would have gone over well w/ my fiance's VERY traditional family.

yay , i am mostly a lurker but YAY i had to post in the asians topic!!!

i am 100% Korean.. my parents got married in South Korea then moved immediately to the states. so i''ve never actually been TO korea. i can speak and understand korean since my parents speak it to each other (although they speak english to me). i can speak a bit of mandarin sincei used to work in a boba tea shop.. lol... i can say "milk tea", "milk tea with boba", "large", "small", "thank you"... hahaha... all the basics!

the fiance is also korean with very similar background as me... parents met in korea and moved here. he''s been back a few times though. i''m not that into korean culture or anything like that but most of my friends ARE korean so i guess it was inevitable that i''d marry someone korean or at least asian. funny thing is, he was my first korean boyfriend... all my previous boyfriends were white or chinese. weird.

one nice thing is that we both have baby faces so although people are thoroughly shocked when they hear we''re getting married ("aren''t you still in high school???") we are going to have THE CUTEST KIDS!!!!!!!!!

I was born in Singapore, brought up in America from 4-12, came to Australia for high school and Uni and have been here since.

Dad is 2nd generation eurasian (great granddad was belgian french, married great grandma who was chinese. grandma was chinese too), mum is half japanese, half chinese.

I''m a barrister by training but am not practicing law at the moment.

Happily married to J for 3 years - he reckons I have enough bling for the moment and has me convinced that his next big diamond purchase for me will be for the birth of our first child!
