Actually, I don''t think this thread would have gone the other way...PSers are generally only feisty when it''s a hot topic or someone is being completely blind to something. I think this thread is sugary sweet because people *do* actually see one another in a positive light. Which is kind of why I laughed...most people are just generally nicer than I am, I guess!

If any of those people who aren''t asking what their rep is because they know they won''t like what they hear - well, I honestly don''t think anyone who has responded on this thread would say anything other than something polite. Hence, are you really finding out what your ''rep'' is on this site?

Which is not to say I think everyone is lame, quite the contrary! Everyone is INDEED nice and lovely! But when some people post that they might come across with invisible - well, I would say that I probably would agree. Not because I don''t know who they are, but if asked what I think about them, I would be kind of thinking hard what to say other than they seem like a very nice and courteous poster! All the nice and courteous posts sort of blend for me on Pricescope.

The ones who have reps for me have to have some sort of consistently obvious posting trait. They have to be funny (either blatantly or subtly dry), extremely sage and bringing up points either first or that no one else has, obnoxious, straight to the point without pulling any punches, SUPER (beyond regular) nice and always encouraging, generally defensive, generally stubborn, constantly accusing people of being jealous of their ebay finds, etc etc etc.

There is a fair degree of chocolate on Pricescope. There is way more vanilla. And you know what? Chocolate can sometimes just be too much in large doses. Vanilla balances it out. We NEED vanilla.

What is kinda funny is online I am more myself than in person.
In person I am very laid back, reserved and shy and would rather kick back and observe than get involved in social situations.
I''m a wallwart at parties and would rather spend time working on something interesting than socializing.

I''ve been mindful of your posts and person since early on since I used to live where you do now! I''ve followed your tales of work and injury, relationship and lots of jewelry purchases for wifey to be, and watched you devour and dissect all available info on asschers which brought you the unofficial title King of the Royal Asscher. I see you now doing the same thing with the vintage cuts and I prophesy that in the next year or so we will have to add the title of Honored Sage of Old Cuts to your CV.

Now, in my mind''s eye, this is the image I have of the Storm Rider....... You would rather be at home with your computers than anywhere else. You are deferring to others IRL because you are afraid to be noticed, but when people get to know you, the discover the gem that you are: a steadfast friend, a brilliant mind, a person with a social conscience and a voracious appetite to solve the puzzle. You are honest and a straight shooter, but kind. However, you suffer fools lightly, usually by just turning around and moving on. Your technical knowledge of the trade belies the fact (sad, sad fact) the you own very little of the beautiful sparklies you''ve become an expert on. And, like most other''s here, I consider you an EXPERT on par with (and exceeding many) with those who have been in the business for decades!

I wish you the luck and capital to strike out into business! I think you''ve got some great ideas and some wonderful contacts. A partnership with one of the existing expert vendors would be a gift to the sparklie loving world!!!!!
