Any new Leon Mege''''s Coming Soon?

ahahahahahahaha!

Yup.

and I say this after having wagged my finger at CCL in a cushion thread for being either intentionally or inadvertently rude. Now I''m waiting for my flame response

we will stand together Debby. He gets a little intimidating and I noticed a couple of times the original poster drops off the thread. Have you bought anything else?? I''m sorry you can''t get your earrings right away, is this driving you crazy again? I''m just dying not buying anything. i''m going to hit the gym every day when schools out to try to pass the time.

Well, to my great surprise, he was extremely nice regarding my finger wagging. One never knows...

Also surprisingly, I''m not dying for my earrings or ring. After being out here in the Dutch boonies for over 5 years, I am getting used to buying things and having to wait until my annual trips to pick them up. I still troll all over all the shops, torturing myself, but in general, I''m ok.

My latest torture? OK, so since I am hindered by not living in the States and having but a small window to get things, AND knowing that I wanted a Leon ring - meaning that I had to order before I got out there to be able to pick it up, I''ve had to do all of my shopping online and through the eyes of vendors. For ease and also to avoid a NY taxes, I decided to source my diamond through Perry and have it all under one roof. Long torture story short... CharmyPoo just posted a link in the other forum to her 1.5 E VS1 AVC and I''m dying. It is beyond gorgeous. My diamond from Leon is also a total winner E 1.01 VS2, but I''m getting concerned that maybe I should have gotten a diamond that originally made my jaw drop. It''s the AVC 1 carat D VS2. It''s super expensive: $7100+, but it''s so unbelievably beautiful. And now I''m killing myself wondering if I shouldn''t have just spent 7k on the stone and $1000 to $1500 on a simple Leon cathedral instead of $5100 on the stone and $3100 on the cathedral with french cut side stones.

Please shoot me now

Well, do you want a one of kind ring or a one of kind diamond? Sorry I have to go tutor, I''ll check back later

Thanks MissyDebby - I guess here is my chance to brag a bit.

This is my 1.7 E VS1 AVC - http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/6267. This diamond took 1 year of searching!!

An interesting point about this stone is that it is one of the shallowest AVCs you will find at only 63% deep. This translates to a larger face up size with minimal impacts on performance due to the very thin girdle (I think but I am not techy enough to know).

Charmy, it''s one of the most beautiful stones I''ve ever seen. There is something about Ds and Es that is just so "clean" looking to me. Just go ahead and brag, cause you did good. soooooooo beautiful.

VBnet, yeah, that was the thing. That was the choice. My feelings at the time was that I wanted both an unbelievable Leon ring and a gorgeous stone. His stone, the one I bought, is gorgeous: beautiful lines, patterning, color, clarity and price. I love everything Leon does (really) but a simple cathedral would probably not be enough for me. It''s just that I need about 10k more to do everything I want. Is that so much to ask?!?

MissyDebby - I am just reflecting on the other thread. Do you think I am mean and dictating? I find that yes I can be blunt .. but I really don''t think I am a dictator or I don''t listen.

Charmy, absolutely not. And it says loads about your character that you ask.

Really the only person that comes off abrasive and haughty is CCL. I think you just got incoming shrapnel, because CCL really hurt the other guys feelings. (Massive generalization coming: when a man''s feelings have been hurt by another guy, the shrapnel is flung far and wide.)

I thought you were incredibly generous and considerate, and took the high road.

I want CCL''s voice there. He is brilliant. I''ve known a lot of brilliant analytical types in my time (my dad for example) and they can just have a total mental block when it comes to empathy. I was only slightly joking about the Asperger''s quip.

But can I tell you something? Since I''ve been here, some of the best, most honest and consistent advice on all the threads have come from you and Dreamer. I should have told you that before. So now you know

Called them yesterday to verify timeframe and they said the metal work was completed but now they needed to set the melee. I sent off my final payment today. I should have them in two weeks - hopefully by the 11th of June!

Awww... thanks sweetie. I was just taken a bit a back that he thought I was on a different side based on where he purchased his diamond. I really don''t care. I was simply trying to point something out - I am not saying what is better.

Anyways, yes - CCL is brilliant. We actually chat by email too and he is a really nice guy and not the meanie he comes off as sometimes. I remember when I first saw him posting .. I was taken aback .. but now I get it.

You guys are too funny!!! Want to hear a real story of agony? I had to wait for 6 weeks to get my Leon ring and after I picked it up from him, my boyfriend immediately took it away and locked it up since it was not "mine" yet. He locked it in a filing cabinet and took the key to work so I couldn''t even take a peak. I had to wait another 2 months before getting it!! Can you believe I married this guy?! We were engaged for about 24 hours before eloping. I''ve been wearing my ring for a few weeks and I absolutely love it. So worth the wait. The pictures I previously posted do not do it justice.

Miss Debby- my wedding band is a french cut eternity band (from about 1910!) so I can imagine what your ring may look like. It will be beautiful. The french cuts have such a pretty sparkle and compliment my antique chunky cushion. The old cuts look great together.

I feel your pain :)

Shadowplay, refresh my memory, what setting did you get? I thought it was the 986, did you have pave on the shoulders?

That is exciting news! I received an email from Rachael that they received my final payment, but I forgot to include the letter about the insurance. I ran that baby out to the post office! I hope I am
going to get mine by the 15th. I would rather have it by the 6th, but at this point what is another week!

I just hope it is all good. I am so very nervous that something will be wrong. Trying not to think about it....

Penskip, that is too funny. My hubby tries to hide things from me but I always find them. For our 25th anniversary her got me a diamond band, and he hid it in our closet. I found it and wore it
around the house every day when he was gone. Don''t tell him, he doesn''t know that!!!

That is what he gets for being a terrible hider!

I love your stone. I drooled all over my keyboard every time I looked at it on JBEG. Did you ever post pictures with your two rings together? I would love to see them. (The keyboard needs a little more
drool!)

It's the 968 - 968 LINK

The engagement shank will be 3/4 eternity and the wedding band will match the engagement shank but be full eternity. Both will have three rows of micropave with a 2mm band width. The head of mine will be "massaged" so that the bands will sit flush. I know this is taboo... especially with three rows of micropave, but it's what we want and I can afford to repair it, have the bands welded together, or buy a 1.6mm platinum spacer.

So excited for you to get yours! I definitely included the letter about the insurance with my payment, so they should have it all tomorrow. I wasn't about to pay $300 for fedex insurance when I can add mine as a rider to my home insurance for a year for $200 and have it covered by a company I actually trust (I never trust shipping company insurance... I've eaten things before).

Penskip... that massive culet on your cushion tears at my insides. I LOVE IT.

My wedding band is in hand!!!!! I got home b/f my FI did and he left it sitting out

. I know this post will go away, but I wanted to share.

It is beautiful. I can barley see the metal in the pave. It works perfectly with my e-ring.

I will post pics when PS 2.0 is up.

Is it rude to ask how much we paid for the setting?

Are you asking me?

I mean in general on this thread. I must admit I am really curious as to how much Leon quoted for the settings here. I know I wouldn''t ask my friends in real life and was curious to what people thought about asking in the context of this thread.

I think the answer is going to be individual. I will tell you (esp since the post probably will not migrate) it was almost $1700 with shipping.

Absolutely - I was interested in understanding the price for each our designs. He charged me $1300 (not including shipping) for a size 2.75 eternity string pave band. I would think that small size = cheaper ... but I guess not. My setting is way over budget so I am a little embarassed to say.

If anyone doesn't mind sharing, I would love to know ... our posts are disappearing anyways!

Was your band thinner? I think the smaller stones are more labor intensive and you need more to go all the way around. My band has 33 stones in it.

I am jealous of your finger size.

I think it will be around 1.5 mm thick. I just said a similar width to the e-ring but we don''t know the width until it''s made - it will be as thin as possible.

Nothing to be jealous about .. I can''t wear a lot of things I want because it looks silly on my finger! Don''t have much room for intricate designs.

Thinner means more stones, I would guess that would be more money.

I see where you are coming from on the smaller finger size, maybe we can both agree a size 4 or 4.5 would be nice. But I am tall, so that might look too thin on me.

ETA: My band is 1.5 mm high too.

I don''t mind sharing. Mine was 4500, an additional 750 for a 1.5 mm spacer, 50 for a ruby 80 for engraving-no shipping insurance. When I first got the quote about 8 months ago it was 4000.

Shadowplay, that is gorgeous! It is really going to be stunning, I can''t wait to see it!

Now, I have to a dyslexia to my list of deficiencies!

I feel better knowing you didn''t pay for insurance either. I don''t know why, but I do.

that and spelling a=add

Are you going with 3 sided pave too?

My setting is three sided pave. The spacer is plain, but milgrained.

Hi, I don't mind sharing either. My band is basically a millegrained cathedral with 5 french cut diamonds down each side. $3100

Also, I bought my center diamond from Leon/Perry: 1.01 E VS2 antique cushion $5100
