Calling all the Pregnant PS''ers

Ella,
Cuteness overload, here. They are so adorable!!!

Oh Ellaila! They are so precious! I love that head of hair on your daughter! It sounds like you are doing so well, which is wonderful to hear! I think out of all of my circle of friends, the couple that had twins had the smoothest time of things, go figure!! How are you feeling, is your recovery going well?

oh my goodness ella, what cutie pies...I couldn''t wait for you to post pictures and you surely didn''t disappoint!!! hope you are getting some rest yourself...

tacori, I actually found nursing my second to be MUCH easier. part of the problem with my first was me allowing her to latch incorrectly etc. When I had Lily, I knew what I was doing and never let her latch that way so I just never had the same problems. everyone is different though so you just really never know. I do hope things start to go smoother for you. 6 months or a year or however long you plan to go is a loooooong time, so getting comfortable and making it easy is the only way to get through it.

ella, I''m all teary eyed over here!!!! They are absolutely precious!! It seems to me that Katelyn is verrrrrry feminine and Gabriel is definitely more boyish. Lots of babies have that androgynous look in the beginning but yours are easy to distinguish! They are absolutely perfect. Sounds like you''re doing well too. Can''t wait to hear more about them and their progress. So happy for you!!!!

Ella, how precious; they are gorgeous! I can hear, feel and see the Joy in your post! I love the pictures and congrats!!! Love the hair; too cute!

ella, you and q made some BEAUTIFUL babies!!!!
emlove.gif
They look so cute sleeping next to each other, so the twin bonding has begun! and i can completely see the gigantic smile behind your husband''s mask. i''m so happy for you FOUR!

hope you''re getting a bit of rest!

p.s. baby yawns. too precious.

Ella--I want twins now!!!
2.gif
Little teeny tiny bundles of lovely!!! You sound so proud, and with good reason --you and hubby created gorgeous babies!

.........................................

Just got in from another Dr.''s appointment. Heart beat sounded good. My weight gain has slowed down to 2 lbs in 2.5 weeks so that is more in target--thank goodness.
My Dr. did kind of scare me--I told her about this sensation i was having last week. It felt like a muscle (possibly my uterus although I don''t know explicitly what my uterus feels like
3.gif
very low above my public bone was clenching and releasing several times a min and for a good 20 minutes) I thought they were braxton hicks at first, even though they didn''t fit the description--she said they were ''warning signs'' that I was being too active and could indicated pre-term labor--she has told me to rest more often and get it checked if it happened again.
6.gif

Anyone experienced the same thing? I like my Dr. as a person, but she is not very professional and soooo busy! I never see her more than a few minutes tops so I always leave the office with more questions than answers....

Whew! Things have been busy around here with us!!! I was thinking about Ella and wanted to come check and low and behold the twins are here!!!

CONGRATULATIONS ELLA!!!! They are adorable, love all the pics!!! Sounds like they are doing great and everything was pretty smooth, thats wonderful. Enjoy it, the time passes so fast!!!!!

I totally skimmed (Lord only knows the last time I was on here reading!) but Tacori wanted to say I am still using the nipple shield too. My LC said if it works, it works, dont beat yourself up over it. I've talked to lots of women who used them for several months and then once the babies got bigger where able to ditch it. Jon can nurse without it, but like you said, it is so darn easy to just slap it on! I have the same problems with the milk jugs being too full to latch sometimes as well.

Diver, you are right, its all worth it once they start smiling... God it just melts my heart!!!!!!!!

I dont know that I have seen anything sweeter.

Things are good here... sleeping through the night for almost 4 weeks now

and growing like a weed. BFing is going well and the only bad thing is I have had a little PPD. Not a big deal, but when I am down, whoa, its scary. The crying kills me b/c I am so not a crier normally. My poor DH. Had our 2 month check up yesterday and everything with development is right on track and Jonathan is up to 12 pounds even from 7lbs, 5oz at birth and up to 23 inches from 19. We are exactly average, but we still have giant hands and feet, so I dont know that we will stay that way long! Pic is from our first visit with Santa with my neice and nephew. They are "practicing" for their new little sister due the begining of March.

Hope everyone is doing well (it appears that way), lots of new preggos too. I am headed back to work Jan 7th
39.gif
, so internet time will be easier to come by. Happy holidays everyone!!!!!!

One more that is a little more flattering!

njc, it''s so great to hear from you!!!!! Jon is just DELICIOUS!!!! I want to take a bite out of his cheeks. What a cutie pie!!! I have a girl for him, she''s a little older but likes younger men! I keep saying this but I wish all of our babies could hang out together--it would be so cute!

It sounds like you are doing well besides the ppd. I know how that can be although at the time, I don''t think I could admit it. I was a bit of a wreck but it does pass. As long as you''re not having any negative/harmful feelings towards your baby, I think you can chalk it up to craptastic hormonal overload and sleep deprivation. And I know what you mean about having time to be online once you get back to work! Honestly, I think it''s the best thing for me to be working. I''m glad you and I will be able to share working mom/daycare stories. I think it''s great to have the balance and I hope it helps bring back your sanity as it did for me! I''m so glad you checked in and look forward to more photos of that yummy little boy!

NJC: I was worried about you. Have you seen your doc about the PPD? Its nothing to ignore, that''s for sure. It can also last a long time & there is NO REASON for you to suffer. There are anti-depressants you can take while BF-ing, just call & make an appt with your OB. Traditional "baby blues" are short lived & usually occur in the first 2 weeks. I went on an anti-depressant the SECOND I got home from the hospital, because I''d had a rough year (miscarraige, my mom deserting me & pulling her drama) and was at risk for PPD. Best thing I ever did, I''ve had a really awesome time since D was born. My OB will have me go off of them in a few months (once the weather gets nice here, we have constant rain in the winter too, makes any blues worse).

Glad to see pics of Jon! He is soooooooooo sweet...love his little mouth.

Ellaila: OMG....your twins are precious. I have to admit, I admired your enthusiasm throughout your pregnancy. I always thought I''d die if I ever got pg with twins (from the sheer work of it) because I am a big fat chicken. But you, you had so much excitement around having 2 and looking at the pics and reading your post I get it.....twice the blessing, right? I just want to snuggle those little pumpkins, they are sooooo precious and beautiful. It makes me want to cry, because my baby is getting so big. She''s a ham, a comedian, and trying to roll over! She''s not even 3 months! Crazy girl. And she''s so big...I miss her newborn-ness some times.

Enjoy those twins, they are so beautiful. Good job mama!

Mrs. S: Jake is pretty tall. He''s over 3ft...85%-tile for height at his last appt. Long string bean. If we had those carseat/booster laws when I was a kid, I''d have been in a booster until 6th grade. I don''t think I hit 100lbs until highschool. (I was about 5''2" my freshman year, I''m 5''5" now) DH was 6''1" and 150lbs when he graduated from highschool..so Jake has some skinny genes.

Ok..off to brave the insanity at the outdoor mall. TG it has valet parking. I''m NOT dealing with finding a spot with 2 small kids. I''m hoping the mall will be empty because its cold outside. Good thing I''ve got all my bundling stuff for the kids. I think I''ll just put Delaney in her sling so she''ll be all warm up against me . Plus if she''s in a sling, i can''t try on clothes...LOL.....besides, I need to check out flatware at Crate & Barrel. Pottery Barn discontinued my design that I got for my wedding, and I can''t get replacements. (tried for over a year). I''m down to 5 dinner forks, 3 salad forks, and its nuts. C&B has a pattern almost like it, so I''m bringing one of my place settings to compare...if its close, I''ll grab a couple sets. I''m hosting xmas dinner for 10 this year, AND I NEED FORKS!

Ella, oh my goodness!! Your twins are soooooo cute!!!

njc, John is just adorable, so glad to hear from you.

Oh wow Ellaila!!!
Cuteness overload! Gabe and Kate are absolute cutie pies!
I agree with Curly in that you can clearly see who is who.
What I can''t get over is the fact that they are so plump.
You did a good job baking them

I love the picture of them against their daddy''s chest.
You can clearly see the size difference between Gabe and Kate.
I guess when you are that small, 1 lb makes all the difference.
It''s so cute though

Loving the picture of little Katelyn yawning

Congrats to you and Q again.
Yes, we can definitely see the broad grin of a proud papa behind the mask.
Rest up and keep us posted when you have time.

Njc, glad you checked in.
Jon is growing up so fast! And I see he still have that tongue sticking out
3.gif

It''s too cute!

Ella, your babies are precious! Congrats again.

Njc! Good to hear from you. Jon is so handsome! I am so jealous he is a good sleeper you lucky lady. Good to know I am not the only using a shield. Are you back at work? When did Jon do his first social smile? I can''t tell if Tessa has or not.

Jas--
Can''t believe you are at the bimonthly prenatal visit already.
I have one more monthly pnv and will go in every other week.
Time sure is going by fast. Pretty soon, we''ll all be holding our little bundle of lovelies

Anyway, to answer your question, I don''t have the contractions like yours.
It''s more like a one-time contraction. My uterus will just harden up like a stone and releases after a few seconds.
It only happens in the morning and late at night. I don''t know what that is. BH maybe, but it doesn''t hurt though.
I thought that perhaps it''s the baby pressing up against my tummy. Hope the other ladies have answers for you.

Chrono--
Sorry kidC got sick too. At least they are not down with the flu, so that''s good.
Rest and deep yourself healthy.

MrsS--
Sorry to hear that both your girls have the chickenpox. Thank goodness it is a mild case.
That''s good that they catch it now instead of later during the holidy season when there''s more family gatherings
5.gif

Hope they get well soon!

Tacori--
Is there any disadvantage to using the shield besides the inconvenience factor?
You must be loaded with milk
9.gif
I forgot to ask if you went up in size after your milk come in.
I know you were pretty concern about that.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing good and avoiding the cold weather.

Lili, I am not sure. I know "What to Expect the First Year" hates shields. Sometimes I think it is harder to know if she is latched right and then I am in pain afterwards. Actually I don''t think my bra size changed
33.gif
I went up a cup size while preggo. Then again I don''t really wear regular bras anymore. I am OBSESSED with these nursing tanks. They give me enough support so that is all I wear. Though I will say the day my milk came in
23.gif
my hospital gown fit me differently. It was so strange.

OMG, Ella, the BABES are so DARN CUTE!!!! Love 'em!!!!!!
36.gif
36.gif
They are so precious!!!

Thanks so much for sharing the pics....hope you are all doing well, and congrats to you and Q again!!!
36.gif

NJC: Jon is so adorable!!! Congrats again! Hope you are feeling better....Remember, never be afraid to ask for help (re: PPD). It is more common that people think and there are plenty of good treatments for it now. Give your doc a heads up about it, just to make sure you are both on the same page. Best of luck to you!
36.gif

Lili--
i know eh,time is just flying by and yet I feel like March will never arrive!
What you describe is exactly what a BH contraction is described to feel like--What I felt was really different. I am sure it's possible it's just some sort of variation of a 'practice contraction' (guess it has to be if it didn't result in labor!) I don't have any other signs of pre-term labor (never any spotting, fluids, cramps etc.) so i wasn't too worried. it's just disconcerting when Dr.'s give you that 'ohhh, that's not good' look and then send you on your way. I really need to be more demanding when I go in there now....

I am lovin all the pics that are being posted lately--keep em coming holiday mommas

NJC--Jon looks like an angel in that pic!!!
good to hear from you!

CONGRATULATIONS, ELLA!!! Your little ones are sooo cute and perfect. I am so glad to hear that everyone is happy and healthy.

I''ve been mostly lurking around for a bit because I''ve been so tired these days. My doctor appointment last week went fine, although he couldn''t hear the heartbeat with the doppler. No worries, though. I''ve had no bleeding/spotting or major cramping and he assured me that everything is fine. I get to have an ultrasound on the 20th so hubby and I are so excited about that. I will be sure to post some pics when I get them. I''m inching out of my first trimester - I''ll be 12 weeks on Sunday - yay! I''ve gained about 7 pounds so far so I''m still the in the "just feeling fat" stage. I can''t button any of my work pants so I use a rubberband and wear longer tops to hide it (hehehe).

ella, I''m teary eyed looking at your pictures! Awwww...your twins are precious! So beautiful!

njc, Jon is a cutie!

rainydaze, congratulations!

lili, you look great! You don''t look 22 weeks pregnant!

ella: Thank u so much for checking in again!!! ur twins are ADORABLE and ur hubby looks so proud!!! do you have anyone to help u out since ur home now?? you must have ur hands full all the time with 2 babies to take care off..

njc: thank u for coming back to show us pics of ur boy!!! hes a cutie!!

tacori: hopefully Tessa will sleep thru the nite in no time!! and if the shield is easier for u, then just continue doing that i guess...is there a certain ''age'' where the shield no longer becomes effective? Sorry if this is a silly question, but i have never heard of a ''shield'' before until i came to this thread!!

Chrono: just wanted to check up on u, babyC and the family..hope everyone is doing well now!!

MrsS: Hope they are doing better now!! i was also adviced to give my son his vaccine shot, but it is not recommended before he is a year old..so hopefully we''ll get that done when he is at that age...

Divergrrl: how did the mall trip go??? brave lady doing it all on ur own :)...also, did u manage to pick a new pack and play?

MSB and Lili,
The entire C family has recovered. Thank goodness because I am so busy at work this week. Thank you for asking.

NJC,
Thanks for taking the time to return for pictures of your son. We are experiencing cuteness overload here. It is so wonderful to see such happy babies here, it brings a smile to my day.

Tacori,
Sorry I''m of no help with the shield. I really hate those things. I used it with KidC when he was a baby and I was always dropping it, or he''d trash around and throw it down, etc. I forced myself to nurse without it because it was such a pain to use.

Chrono,
So glad to hear your family has recovered!! How is hubby''s back??

Congrats rainydaze!!!
36.gif

Lisa,
It's getting better with a ton of advil, prescription pain killers and Bengay.
9.gif
At least he can bend, walk, and generally move around without exclaimations of "my back", "aarghh", "ooohhhh" and the like. I think he must have pulled it piggy backing the big kid C who weighs 38 lbs. I say he's getting old.
11.gif

Hey ladies...

Sorry for the quick drive by, but I wanted to say ELLA, your babies are DARLING! I can''t believe just a week or two ago they were funny little ultrasound pics with Santa hats and now they are wearing real hats!

njc, your boy is a doll! There are dolls everywhere on this thread!

Yes, no belly shot yet from me, and I won''t be able to get it done. I have been scrambling to get us organized for our Oz trip and am up to my eyeballs. Sorry ladies...I will try to take them while I am in Oz. We leave tonight, so I wanted to wish you all a happy holidays. I will try to check in from time to time in Oz.

I''ll see you all in the new year!!!
35.gif

Tgal,
Happy New Year and have a safe and enjoyable trip.

TGal, Have a GREAT trip. Some some belly shots. Even if you don''t feel comfortable posting them here they ARE fun to have.

Chrono, glad your family is all better!

Msb, I don''t mind. I think once she gets older her mouth will be big enough to "handle" my boob. When I am full I can''t squeeze them at all. Hard for her to latch. The shields are a pain (b/c like chrono said baby knocks them off, they fall, they get lost...once more step) but at least there is something out there to help.

Tacori,
I just had a thought about how to help Tessa latch better without a shield. Do you know how to do manual hand expression? Maybe if you are too full, you can hand express a little (or pump) to make it a wee bit softer and easier to latch.

TG- safe travels to you!

Ella- oh my, what adorable babies! Here''s to the proud parents.
